I like the fact that the Pitiful Slugs were religious during the city stage, as it is only through divine intervention that they continue to exist and prosper.
"Dear Pitiful Worm God, may you grant us the wisdom to stay in our lane, the courage to be sociable, and the power of luck."
I feel like the religion of the pitiful slugs is the belief in ultra-ascetism. Being nothing, incredibly simple beings and yet in tune with reality.
Well it doesn’t mean there really was divine intervention
This man just created the hive worm gods of Destiny. Mind blown
🤣🤣😂 how Savage. I prefer Almesive Intervention myself

"You are filled with DETERMINATION"
@@theuncalledfor Apologies.
Knowledge of tactics will take you further than anything else. As a turtle in most games myself, I noticed how Valence made use of tanking and an apparently superior number of hitpoints to win some fights in Creature Stage.
Imagine trying to design city architecture solely through the senses of touch and taste.
Check out the new Entertainment Cube, it's got an amazing 4D experience that stimulates all three senses!
*Lick*
“I’ve determined this building needs more chocolate flavoured foundation.”
Honestly, imagining this is kinda fun. You could imagine that in the real world, they would likely texture or taste-code things in order to know what they are. I wonder what that would be like, as in, they would never be able to comprehend the things outside of that limited sensory range so how would they implement them properly? It sounds like something I'd conceptualize and write about for days.
@@RandomInternetStranger oh my god tongue braille. Also i think it would make the most sense for them to tunnel like worms and maybe communicate through vibrations somehow? Like wiggling
*Touches and Lickies*

These worms haven't even made tanks. They just push boxes around and pretend these are vehicles.

sheer will power, dumb luck, intellectual prowess, and sorcery.
It is also very religious.
Because their entire existence is considered divine intervention
This creature is definitive proof of a divine being with a sick sense of humor
Imagine a species of parasite that evolved to instead of feed of organisms, it succeeded by winning them over psychically/socially... wait that's the Trill from Star Trek, isn't it
Imagine you're the space guru living in the center of the galaxy, surrounded by the vicious Grox on all sides for lightyears on end, and then an overgrown flatworm piloting the wreckage of a cube spaceship pulls up to receive your gifts of enlightenment.

@@newworldmuch3685weird question
By all accounts of the laws of nature, there is no reason this species should exist. It cannot exist. And yet it does.
Many see this simple creature as a joke made by nature in poor taste.
For me, no other organism has struck such fear inside... for this thing, cannot be stopped.
It always comes back.
This creature may lack 3 of the five senses but it also lacks the ability to fear
Can't believe I'm still learning new things about spore, I never knew of the beast master ability in the tribe stage, and the only way I could win the tribal stage is to go aggressive, I still don't know how I managed to kill almost every tribe with literal slugs, must have been one in 1000 lucky chance XD

sure the herbivore mouth in the cell stage is bad because you cant attack, but in creature and tribal stage, id argue that the herbivore mouth is actually better, because you can get food freely instead of having to kill things for food.
Omnivores can too with the benefits of attacking in previous stages
You don't need to kill stuff in tribal, you can just go fishing
@@ylussjoel true
@@ylussjoel dont start with rods tho, fruits are still like 1000x easier anyways
@@Doggggggggo rods are better for passively getting food bc the fish don't run out
I rarely play Cell as herbivore so I always thought Siren Song was just for protecting yourself from aggressive creatures or preventing orange (unhappy) creatures from attacking you first while you socialize them. I never knew you could use it to bring a creature from red (angry) face :o
Also I think the tribe happiness dropping down when you're at blue or green because they attacked your pets has happened to me before. That happened to me with a tribe that was blue with me and I didn't realize it was over my pets, so from then on I just assumed there was a time limit on blue where it would eventually drop to yellow, but not on green.
This whole run made me remember how when we as humans eventually leave this planet and solar system, unless we do a perfect sterilization of ourselves and our ships (which likely isn't possible), we'll be shuttling bacteria native to earth around the galaxy with us. There really will be limbless space slugs in the future.
Wrong. You have to run the game using the Minimum system requirements on the lowest usable resolution (640 * 480) CRT monitor with a keyboard and mouse that only passes as "functional".
He's playing spore, not cruelty squad
Should I lend my setup then?
Imagine evolving into the optimal creature just to go extinct by an army of slugs with wiggly mouths
Love your spore content! I dunno how “speedrun” friendly it would be, but I would be interested to see how fast you could completely wipe out the grox, as a companion to your “ally the grox” run. I’m actually curious what the game might do if the grox are completely eradicated if you go there with a different race later.
My guess it would take around 80-100 hours. 2400 Grox systems, maybe 2 minutes each +/- other prep. Hopefully I'll find the time some days to give it a go! :D
There is a Wiki for Spore and for the Grox page it does say in the notes what would happen if you find a way to completely wipe out the Grox, which can be done in multiple ways. But the short of it is that, once the Grox are gone your future creatures won't be able to meet them. Even though they will still be asked to find the Grox.
There is also the issue that some of the planets under Grox control are too far away to get to before getting to the Core of the Galaxy. So if you want the 'speedrun' to end with getting to the Core, an official mod is needed in order to expand the travel radius when near the Core. There are ways around that, but they take time and Sporebucks.
Since KinglyValence doesn't seem hesitant about taking advantage of glitches and what not, a good idea is to play the game with intentions of becoming a Zealot in the Space Stage. The Fanatical Frenzy ability can be instantly recharged if you save, exit to menu, then load back in. Making it so you don't have to wait the what... 20 or so minute recharge timer?
@@Nekomon42 you don't need to install any mods any more, think the steam version already expands your range after you talk with Steve
@@toimine8930 Yeah I know that, but I mean for those who save meeting Steve for last. If they wanted to get to all of the Grox colonies before meeting Steve, they will need something that increases the range a bit more.
@@Nekomon42 you could always slingshot to those planets but I think there's one you can get stuck on doing that
I didn't know you can eat eggs to get dna. I've been playing this game since I was a kid. The glitches you showed were awesome too, they really just add to the game's charm. I love listening to your speedruns in the background while I do other things! It's a shame Spore doesn't have more of a cult following. Anyways, thanks!
Congratulations, you've brought e.coli into space
You don't need to be adaptable for Tribal, if you isolate a small group of enemy tribe members and preform for them they'll be much easier to befriend. You can be predatory, friendly, or adaptable. I did a personal challenge with Folees only (green starting cell with one eye)
Did you do it on Hard difficulty? On Easy/Normal this is doable, but I couldn't get enough performance on Hard without the tribal equipment or beast master.
This kinda makes me wonder why they didn't introduce an extinction mechanic into the game if your creature dies too many times. I think Spore would have been a little more interesting if it were a rogue like lol
This game was a mess on release, a slew of broken promises, unfocused gameplay, and with the dishonorable title of being THE most pirated game ever.
Despite this, it is sort of a cult game. Creature stage is probably the most engaging, and then space stage.
@@R.DeMora blame corporate greed for that one. i wish spore was able to reach its full potential

"These formless spirits haunt the void. Their ghost ships pass anywhere they please, yet are too weak to affect any part of the galaxy."
"We have begun to pray to their god, in the hopes that they shall grant us the salvation that these pitiful worms must have been given."
This game is 13 years old and you're still making content for it. Respect.
Those pitiful worm videos are classics in my mind! I’m excited to watch this video
Red vs blue, a stalemate, its a wonder that it isn't in a box canyon in the middle of nowhere
Imagine getting attacked by an endless stream of bright green floating slugs. Pure nightmare fuel
Spore: Dark souls
Dark Spores (not to be confused with Darkspore)
Isn't that Darkspore?
spore sl1 fists only
There is something so pleasing about your worms... spitting in the face of evolutionary selection pressures, through sheer bloody mindedness, clever strategy, and a ton of hard work.
I once had a tribeman with blue face relationship attacking my pet out of blue (like in a video) and they turned red as soon as my pet started fighting back. It probably happens because the game still considers player's pets as normal animals that can be targeted by AI tribes for hunting, but since player's pets are also technically a part of the tribe, any damage dealt by them to other tribes is considered an attack on this tribe
that space section reminds me of a very similar glitch in Deus Ex where you do some save loading trickery to play with 0 torso health so the game considers you to be dead
oh! i knew for ages that you can push creatures away with their nest (and as ive also learned on my own also making sure theyre selected) to ally them but not that you can use the same to attack them!
i actually did a challenge last year or so where i completed creature stage by excluxsively eating eggs. it was annoying at first but really picked up once i was able to upgrade my creatures mobility
you can double your social ability??? that doesnt seem like something that works on windowed though?
hiring stronger creatures to attack for you is also clever ! it even factors into tribal stage
oh yeah i forgot about the free baby trick its still preddy cool
you can gift from a distance???? this sounds really cool i love learning of new spore things from these vids
i also didnt know social outfitter parts actually had such an effect on allying to the point where its like impossible
just why was the brown villager attacking one of the pets ? this is realy funny
i didnt know building creations had a gameplay effect too??? this is new to me wowww
the zombie ship usage is also clever. i like the clever tricks used to get around everything
Thank you! :D
For doubling the Creature's social abilities using Control, Alt, Delete, the game was in Windowed mode. I'll always play in windowed because Spore doesn't record too well with OBS in full screen.
Love this, really brings me back to all the weird runs where I crafted convoluted lore for all my races. Thank you for making this
I find it funny that a bacteria managed to do THIS much in 5 hours.
That said spore devs are probably watching this and thinking about patching the glitches but also... "Wait a sec, who's gonna pay me?"
Also, "Wait a sec, where's the source code?"
You know, these little worms are actually kind of cute. 🪱
Omg the worm has a smiley face

I love rewatching these pitiful worm challenges from time to time, they help me believe in myself whenever I see these pitiful guys becoming the space-faring race.
I propose another challenge: make a cell even more pitiful. That is, not a worm, but a small sphere, with a tiiiiny mouth. On its butt.
Let's see how well these guys will do.

Tbh, spore is one of the games i grew with and is honestly one of the bests games i ever seen through all my life, the freedom to build whatever you want is incredible, and is a really fun game to play for all ages.
The bug where an allied tribe goes back to friendly can also happen if you use Fire Bombs near an ally's main hut. You can even destroy the village afterwards.
Also, I had no idea you could use social abilities twice in the same turn in creature stage, this is really cool. How do people even find these glitches?
I love how this person genuinely cheated to make things harder. I love it when people do things like that, and use cheats and glitches to make the game even more difficult instead of just breezing through it like someone who 100%ed a game and then started an NG+ save.
LETS GOOOOOOOO IM SO HAPPY YOU POSTED IVE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS
I've noticed a few people complaining about over narration. But I found it incredibly informative. Nice vid keep up the good work
I can sense your increasing desperation and rage in the cell stage. I'd be willing to bet this was your first ever time having a hard time in cell stage
Keep coming back to this challenge. Its concept is hilarious
Awesome video. I really like how this challenge incorporates these different tricks and glitches; it make it all the more enjoyable to watch. Keep it up!
Maybe once a month the YT algorithm manages to recommend me some really excellent under the radar content. This was one of those times. Loved this video and watched a few more right after. Making sure to comment and like so that others will be blessed by the algorithm like I was. There's loads of people like me who played this game 10 years ago and would be interested to see what the speedruns / challenge runs are like. Wouldn't be surprised if your channel starts to blow up!
Imagine getting out-evolutioned by a pickle.
The worms never evolved because they were already perfect in every way.
Amazing as always. Perfect run!
This is impressive, really pushing the game towards its boundaries
Nice video as always, though you could have added some quick color to your creations.
Post-scripted gaming videos like yours are criminally underappreciated when compared to post-edited streams. I'm very grateful for the effort you put in your videos to best immerse us!
Blind, limbless, weak, naked worms with terrible tech, flying an energyless, empty, destroyed ship. Amazing
The fact it looks like a tampon in the thumbnail is even funnier. Lol
Nice to see people still keeping Spore alive

Fascinating job, particularly that moment that our Tribal worm held their staff up. Somehow. Interesting glitches shown off too, thank you for the demonstration and commentary. Great video!
You took so long to beat cell stage that halfway through, your star would’ve became a red giant and potentially consumed your world, but at the very least you should’ve boiled before you ever left the tidepool.

i remember i found a way to make a vehicle out of only decal pieces, doe it was years ago so i don't exactly remember how...
what i do remember is that i started out with a block, then i made one decal piece cross it's mirrored counterpart, then placed a decal part onto the intersection of them, and i did something to that...
i'm sorry i can't describe the exact process but i CAN confirm it is possible
That sounds interesting, I can't quite get it to work myself. Any additional description if you can remember would be great! Maybe I can get this to work if I ever do something like this challenge again!
It works! Thank you for bringing this up!
If I ever do this type of challenge again I will definitely use this and credit you for bringing it to my attention! :D

I think you can perform a glitch where you save right after you ally, and then you won’t upgrade your settlement, and won’t need additional instruments

A shame this Worm cannot use their iconic bazookas or holy hand grenades; would make this challenge a lot easier. Still, a really cool challenge to set yourself.
2:02 - An get immediately ganged up on by other cells... and again at 2:32; this is just a recurring thing for this cell stage run, isn't it?
5:22 - The key to the Worm cell's success; blind luck and neutrality in conflicts.
8:23 - This basic worm creature came onto land and immediately became a menace to society. It attacks everything it bumbles into and cares not even for it's own kind.
13:00 - Given how you went about recruiting this creature with your window opening glitch, this feels like your Worm is winning it over with social skills and more like it is a parasite controlling these far stronger creatures. This run is rather terrifying when you think about it.
15:30 - These aggressive, fire-producing parasites also spawn at an alarmingly rapid rate.
19:36 - You did a practise run for this? Gosh, you've been at this video a while then given the time and deaths it took you to get to this point on your more experienced run. The dedication is admirable... and a little crazy.
23:45 - There is something so amusing about seeing your worm creature just being flung through the air like that.
26:02 - For a creature to build that with no limbs or eyes is still an impressive feat. Pretty amazing that 26:37 shows that this tank can double as a boat. Their simplicity has stumbled upon something amazing!
29:30 - "We see an opportunity; let's invade quickly." I don't think these Worms know the meaning of quick.
30:44 - Your Yellow allies were trying to so forgiving towards your traitorous Worms. They really should have done some research on to just who they were allies with. The Worms were never meant to be trusted at any point in history.
35:53 - I suppose all these other aliens are seeing is the debris of your wrecked ship and your crew of Worm corpses floating through space, which is why they are uninterested. Gosh, this was hilarious!
