Actually frozen vegetables can be healthier than "fresh" produce. They are flash frozen when picked and then bagged. The fresh vegetables can sometimes take a week or two before it hits the stores.
I just made something pretty similar to this the other day. I highly recommend adding some gochujang into a sauce like this. I think it adds much better flavor than red pepper flakes for the heat. You can also cut down the honey a bit, since gochujang is a bit sweet and fruity itself. The dish I made was with noodles instead of rice. It's worth mentioning that if you're using noodles, the frozen vegetable mixes are not as good as preparing the fresh vegetables yourself, unfortunately. When you cut them yourself, you can cut them thinner and in a sort of elongated shape that will blend with the noodles better than the chunky cut of most frozen stir fry vegetables. But a big benefit of the noodle version of a dish like this is that it makes more sense to eat them cold (especially in the summer).
I think the thing that people don't notice about these videos is that this is a fast cooking time while also dealing with filming and manning cameras. If you're doing literally nothing but the cooking, it's actually going to be even faster than this. Great recipe, too. Thanks for uploading this.
Heard you are a prior railroader Josh. I've been a conductor for 23 years now and one of the few who keep healthy in this fastfood career field. Great content sir. Lots of great ideas.
This is an amazing recipe! It was an easy way to hide a good quantity of vegetables in the recipe without affecting taste. Probably the best flavoring I've ever added to ground turkey. I was actually craving this meal every day.
Man first with the portioning doesn't have to be exact its the same cals over the week tip, then the peanut butter measuring tip, you are crushing it. Thanks for all your hard work
If you are still looking for meal prep containers to try, Oxo makes borosilicate glass ones that i really like. They are a simple design, but I am just happy to find someone that still uses borosilicate glass
Great recipe. It was as quick as claimed. I used less honey, more soy and white vinegar as a substitute and it was great. Will make again. My peanut butter was no sugar also.
Love a satay recipe, definitely getting involved in this and making it saucier. I’ve also been loving peanut butter powder. Will add some of that to it on top of the peanut butter 🥜
I just made this and it really did take me only 30 minutes! Thanks so much for this easy and delicious recipe; meal prep usually takes me hours and hours so this was much appreciated.
fresh veggies only matter if you're having them separate. If it's in a stir-fry and it's blended with a sauce then it really doesn't matter. Anyway i'll definitely be trying this one tonight.
Hey Josh! I’ve been using the Rubbermaid Brilliance containers, I like them a bit better than the ones your using (that you don’t love) they come in glass or plastic, the plastic ones are really really good, similar to Nalgene water bottle plastic as it doesn’t discolour or scratch easily. They have a fully exposed rubber seal, so their easier to clean, and as a bonus the latches hid a steam vent so you can pop the latches to allow steam to escape when reheating.Their a bit pricy but they hold up really well.
If we're using frozen vegetables, is it ok to freeze them again after cooking? Whenver I make the 5 batch meal preps, I usually freeze 1 or 2 of them to eat the following week...
Josh, I've been a cry ass lately about meal prepping. Always good to see some quick ones even though I need to get back to doing it more consistently. It must be a Dallas thing versus an Austin thing. Don't know but always love your videos.and I always hit the like button because I certainly don't want your boss giving you the business. Now, if it's wet down in Austin like it is in Dallas today don't go out and play any disc golf.
Why are those IKEA glass containers not great? I've used the OXO mealprep containers that are similar in size and they are great. Yes they are heavier, but the snap lids with the seal prevents leakage. What's your ideal meal prep container?
Breakfast varies a lot by country and region. Hummus is huge in a lot of areas and a lot of cultures don't really consider breakfast food a things. Really the only good reason to eat differently in the morning that I can think of is because it suits your schedule.
@@TheMealPrepManual I've seen lots of videos about things like japanese breakfast or shakshukah/menemen but rarely see content that makes it accessible for meal prep and easy reheating in the morning. Love your veggie bites, sausage biscuits, and egg bakes so would be dope to see more techniques !
@@DeathToMayo I disagree, in my opinion breakfast should be distinct as there are lots of flavors in textures I don't want to wake up to first thing in the morning. Imo breakfast should be nutritious and either quick to make or easy to reheat, and I've noticed beans in particular work really well for that
Hey are you celiac? I've noticed you tend to choose ingredients that tend to be friendly towards celiac (avoiding sugar due to cross contamination, non-wheat flours used for baking, etc.) I wanna know if I can just copy these ingredients 1:1 since I'm celiac loool
Wait what makes you say that? I am trying to figure out the right thumbnail formula and I actually didnt like this one. I’m curious to know what your thoughts are
@@TheMealPrepManual I was mostly joking because i just noticed that u updated it like 3 times. if you want my general opinion on what makes a thumbnail good for YOUR videos though, as a random dude who likes the videos, i like it when your thumbnails show off the actual look of the food. I personally like it when theyre a bit more zoomed in on one meal, it shows off an appealing look meal that can be batch prepped. when theyre real zoomed out its hard to really tell what the recipes end product is Look at your recent breakfast meal preps for instance, those i like the thumbnails for because they show off a good looking final product, but to me when the thumbnail is a zoomed out collection of 5 identical boxes, it looks less appealing, and when i scroll through past videos, imo they all seem nearly identical. Maybe itd be cool to plate one up like a regular, non-prepped meal and picture that up close, and just have the boxes in the background or something like you did with the fritata thing recently
I would argue that frozen vegetables are actually fresher than the fresh ones. They’re usually flash frozen at the site they’re picked while fresh ones have spent a lot of time at room/fridge temp on the way and at the store.
Dude, wicked cross wind... probably lowered the efficiency of your hot plate adding an additional 30sec to cook time.😂 Wish I had a Whole Foods near me. Their frozen mixed veggies are truly a mixed bag instead of the Birds Eye 95% carrot, 1 broccoli floret & the rest onion/pepper we get arond here. #FinsUp!
Mad respect for using a rice cooker. It's one of the few one-use appliances that I'd never go without in a kitchen. Frozen vegetables aren't actually that bad, they're usually frozen at their freshest, and as long as you're not keeping it improperly it's not much worse than fresh veg that's harder to store.
I would say a rice cooker is probably one of the best purchases I have made. I have a small galley kitchen so I have to store it away but it is worth it.
As Josh is intimating, what you're (bafflingly) baffled by is the difference between volume and mass, not the difference between imperial units and metric units. What's even worse is that many digital scales have a mL setting, which *sigh* just isn't a thing for measuring mass. Well, except for water at room temp.
@@AquaBilliam g and ml are interchangable, used to show that one is liquid and the other isn't. saying 1/4 cup and it representing two different things is madness.

Hi Josh!
I've just tried this recipe, and this is amazing! Soooooo delicious😚
Thank you so much👍👍👍👍👍
thank you so much, I'm struggling to feed my big-back boyfriend and your meal preps have been so so helpful!

Dosnt cooked rise get micro mold after like 48 hours. So wouldnt fried rise be better?
Hit the thumbs up guys, or his boss is gonna give him the business!!
Looks lazy enough to me to try it tbh, though ground turkey is hard to find where I am sadly
What a joy this was to make. Oof...a lot hotter than I expected. Must've been the flakes.
I'm gonna sub the ground turkey for ground chicken. 92/8 has the same macros and half the price
Stupid question, but these 5 portions are for one per day for 5 days right? Or i am wrong. Can u help?
You can do whatever you need, I just wouldn’t keep anything past 5 days
Good one, very easy too...
I love the way you throw shade at vegetables 😂
Deserve it
Can you freeze these?
Thank you
