    Great video! For the TTs with the steering wheel on the left side: Don't remove the glovebox. The rubber access point is above the throttle pedal, so you'll be able to do all the wiring from the drivers side.

      Having some difficulties finding the hose coming off the inlet manifold, this hose is not in the same place as yours
      Will try again tomorrow and update this comment with my hose location. Might be useful for someone else.

    Good work fella, like your boost gauge on my MK2 the instructions suggested tapping into the fuel system!!!... mental, good to see you have done it the safe way

    • @CarChris82
      @CarChris82  Рік тому

      Cheers mate 👍 they all seem to say tap into the fuel system but as we know that's not ideal and if you have a vac leak can cause a big problem

    Very good video mate, and i liked that you didn't tap into fuel pressure line. Cheers 👊🏽

    I thought I'd already liked this .. but yet again another fantastic video 👌 I do like the idea that the guage is a direct analogue feed and will always show as a failsafe of the map sensor

    • @CarChris82

      Thanks mate and definitely a good failsafe aswell as looking good at the same time 👍

    Great job mate. So handy having a grommet hole in the bulkhead to feed stuff like that through. Its almost like they knew people would retro fit stuff! Surprising there is not more behind the vents to block off/reroute for the air supply. My naiviety showing up here. I would expect the car when idling that it would sit at zero PSI until you put your foot down and engage the turbo rather than running at negative. nice work!

    • @CarChris82
      @CarChris82  Рік тому +3

      Cheers mate defo a good place to run the vac line well handy and not too much happening behind the vent gauge only sits on 0 with engine off as nothing is happening when on idle there is vacuum and on boost there is positive pressure 👍🏻

    Done this + oil pressure. The hole to access the engine bay is not on the same place on the LHD. Mine is near the brake fluid box.
    Unless I did’nt see another behind the cabine filter ?

    Anyway to ‘easily ‘ run it on the other side of the car? I want my gauge at the lower dash, right above my throttle leg, and braced to the center console strut with an L-bracket. Great vid man and I’ll split off where you said in the bay!

    Nice, good looking gauge that - fits the TT well. You did well installing that under the waterfall cover without taking the air filter out! I had to when I did mine, couldn't get access otherwise 😆 Shame it's slightly out at default, fingers crossed thats easily resolved. Did I see that boost to nearly 25 though? Seems high!

    • @CarChris82
      @CarChris82  Рік тому +1

      Cheers mate was a straight forward fit, and the gauge looks good but yeah a shame its not on the 0 I see if it sorts itself out and speak to new south about it.yeah spiked at 25psi it has a stage 2 revo map on it which I don't like(came on the car) but I get a proper map put on it

    • @benofthenorthuk
      @benofthenorthuk Рік тому

      @@CarChris82 Ah yeah I guess with a stage 2 it will be higher - amazed it ran okay before you got it without all the supporting mods you've added since. It's turned into a really tidy little TT now, excellent work 👌🏻

    • @CarChris82
      @CarChris82  Рік тому +1

      @benofthenorthuk i believe it had the stage 2 map because it got turbo back system with sports cat but now i put the other bits on its a proper stage 2 set up .but I want a different map for sure

    Shit, I did what you did on my 225, but there were 2 lines coming up and I cut the wrong hose!??? There were two coming up and assumed they all came from the same source. Didn’t do the fuel pressure regulator. Now to replace that line. Weird that your car only showed 1 line, but mine has two. Please help! Lol

    • @King_Henry
      @King_Henry Рік тому

      Replying back here to see if I can get some quick help on this (and further clarity). I am getting turbo leak basically where the turbo is, so i might be using the right line, but pulled on it too much when establishing the T connection...could it be that simple? Also my cabin filter was pretty damp when I turned it over (if that makes any difference..still newbey here be easy lol).

    • @CarChris82
      @CarChris82  Рік тому +1

      Any line from the inlet manifold will show a vacuum at idle.mine has 2 lines one that goes to the n249 and the other to the fpr

      @@CarChris82 almost done with the install, and going to reroute the vacuum line on the driver side to have more room..I definitely think the line is kinked around the firewall..so going up the hole above the gas pedal this time, not the glove box..thanks for replying Chris!
