This vid is perfectly timed as I've recently started in a league that is played over zoom and whilst I have an idea of what I want to do its always great to see what others can come up with and I have taken some tips so thanks Ben. Sadly my Nurgle team were unfortunate to end their 1st game 0-0 with an ogre opponent and I'm sorry for the wall of text that's about to crit your eyes but I still can't believe this happened! By turn 12 all he had left on the table were 2 ogres (a punter and blocker) and a gnoblar whilst I was only 1 rotter down and slowly walking down the sideline with the ball (not stalling just slow, we make dwarves look like the Flash at times). It was at this moment that his gnoblar did the unimaginable.... he made 4 dodges to blitz the pestigor with the ball (3 dice my favour) and triple pow'd him down. The ball was scattered and the next turn I arranged my team to teach the little git a lesson whilst still surrounding the ogres so they could be little more than punch bags, the ball at this point still has 3 tz's on it so safe enough as I failed to pick it up at the end of my turn.... Try as I might the little blighters comeuppance was not to be had this turn and so still surrounded by my players it was the ogres turn next. The punchbags stood back up and once again it fell to the plucky little guy to do the unthinkable, So pulling up his shorts he set to work. Dodging clumsy grab after grab he went for the ball and whilst pressured he kept his cool and picked it up. At this point he realised he was surrounded and out of breath so did what his larger brothers would do (no not punch his way out I mean it isn't working for them either atm) he was going to throw tea...the ball as far away as possible!. Sweat pouring off his brow, surrounded by a stench that made an ogres jockstrap a dream in comparison and the sun in his eyes he launched the ball as high and hard as he could. Not even noticing the ball was thrown until it was in the air all my nurgle players could do was watch in awe at the perfect long bomb down field (yes he rolled a 6)and it neatly bounced near the sideline, albeit down my empty end of the field. Boiling with rage and knowing I was robbed of the win the pain train went into over drive and vengeance was had! Of his 6 starting ogres 4 are MNG, 2 have stat reductions and 1 has a niggling injury and I wont lie that made me smile....I needed the smile because that little B*****D gnoblar robbed me! I'm not angry, I'm fine, I'm fine....*walks off muttering to himself*
@@BoneheadPodcast haha I did kind of sell the ogres there but that old bloodbowl saying "if can't beat them... hit them harder" comes to mind! I will be purchasing an ogre team though as the sculpts are very cool but vengeance on that little guy will be had when the 2nd game is played.
How do blitz Hunter pestigors hold up this new edition? (block, MB and claw). 2016 Edition I had 2 hunter pestigors and they wrecked face. I also had two ball handling pesitgors but old edition rotters did make up for some of my lack AG deicated to ball control...
Can you please clarify the "not activating" the Rotspawn? I thought that the latest FAQ from GW said that every player had to be activated but not necessarily mean "move". I hated the addendum as it really wrecked Big Guys and Vampires. How I interpreted it, even if you don't move or block you still had to roll a 2+ Really Stupid/Bonehead or 4+ Really Stupid/Animal Savage.
Hey Mango! Ignore the fluff text after the word “Yes” in the FAQ. It says: Does this mean that coaches can choose to end their team turn without activating all of their eligible players if they wish? (p.42) A: Yes. *nonsense text*
Yeah, that was just poorly written I believe, as it contradicts the aforementioned "Yes".. Hopefully. Which is a little sad in a FAQ but hey, it happens!
Little question about star players in league: why would you pick them? As I understand it you pay them for one game and lose all the gold you used. Or is there something I miss?
Hey The Emperor! Ah it's ok - you'll get "Petty Cash" (free money that can only be spent right there and then for the game) if your opponent's team has a larger TV than yours. That's how you normally pay for Star Players! So if your team is worth 1,000,000 and your foe is 1,200,000 - you'll get an extra 200,000 to spend on inducements for that game!
Hey atkmonkey! They do indeed, but you'llnormally have enough people to go on the LoS to free up your kicker! It's worth it for a slow team like Nurgle!
@@BoneheadPodcast I have always used a Pestigor as the kicker, then given him Tackle and used him as a safety. If you have 4 Bloaters and 4 Pestigors, you only have 3 Linemen for the LoS. Have I been playing wrong?
even though claws has been nerfed, being able to take claws on the rotspawn a pretty significant boost. The Big Guy most important task is to take out the other Big Guy
I think you say at least 5 times that rotters are agi3+ but they aren’t anymore they are 4+ so don’t make for good back up ball carriers at all! Like others I was fairly shocked to see no mention of Stand Firm for the Rotspawn as it debated between experienced coaches if this was a first pick over guard let alone ignored all together.
Ahhhh no did I?! Bad job on my end!! Old habbits die hard I guess haha! Wow, yeah, I totally should've mentioned Stand Firm - it's a great pick up, I don't like it as much as guard by a long shot; but you're right - it does a super job of maximising Tentacles!
I've seen a lot where they're called one of the worst teams in the game. Personally I've been having fun with them so I was just wondering why that is. Great video btw :)
They're chaos on hard mode to begin with. Expensive players, poor ball handling, no skills. When they get going they're better than chaos imo. I think the main issue with season 2 for them is the rebuy at the end of the season.

The worst team at low to mid TV.at TV 1800-2200 I doubt there's a single race in the game that can cope with Nurgle. The skills they have make them one of the best, if not THE BEST team in the game at high tv
Agree with need to juice up nurgle. I feel like the team would still be meh if every positional dropped by 5k from the bb2020 prices. That would still only allow you to start 3 pestigors/4 bloaters/4 rotters/3 rerolls, which looks competent but not world beating. 60k rerolls on top of 5k from every players would let you got 4 pestigors, 4 bloaters and 3 rerolls, which is imo a reasonable starting roster. Now that you mention it, chaos could stand to lose 5k from all positionals too.
Despire me saying that Rotters are AG3+ a few times (oops!) - that was the biggest knife-twist I think, them being AG4+ is just a blatant foul and they should be sent off! Hahah!
@@BoneheadPodcast the one thing you did not emphasise with Disturbing Presence (at least I do not remember it being said) is DP is an accumulating trait that increases in affect when it overlaps. Did not help me to come above last in the 2019 league, although Dragon Bowl League is a short season of conferences followed by the knock out rounds. Where a person places post conference is in one of two races for a trophy, main DBL Cup or the Cuckleberry Cup.
Need to reread the lineman Statline - they dropped from AG3+ to ag4+.

What would happen if you give the Bloater On the Ball, Monstrous Mouth, Extra Arms and Really Long Legs?
They look incredibly slow and struggling to win. Once bitten twice shy with Nurgle for me.
One thing I should've stressed is just how good their defence is! If you're a defensive coach, Nurgle are right there!
