    Would you consider taking all Troll advancements as random strength skills or is losing a guaranteed block/brawler too risky? I like the idea of spending 13 SSP to gain three random skills vs 12 SSP for block but not sure if I'm valuing the fun aspect of random skills too highly.

    Hi, thanks for your good video! Need to tap on your wisdom for against a upcoming Dwarf team. The dwarf team around 1.3M TV, hence stacked with a few Guards + MBs. I'm in a dilemma if I should hire a fresh Troll for my Orc team? All my 4 BigUns have block (only 1 has guard), I've 3 Blizters with guard. I'm afraid the Troll will bloat my TV, and its un reliability against a Troll-Slayer. (its a playoff game, i can't hire Star Players), That said I like Troll sucking up 2-3 of their guys on their team. Please advise thanks!!

    Because trolls are 115k, I think it's worth considering a thrower as the only other unevenly priced player.
    For a thrower, I think you either go as a passer (on the ball, accurate, block) or a utility player (leader, then block or random generals).

      I think the Thrower does have some utility - even if it's just the Leader/Block caddy role!
      Haha, yeah, getting ris of that left over 5k is another benefit!

    curious why you rate orcs lowly compared to other teams? They seem quite awesome now! +1mv is a huge buff for big uns, and animosity is a trivial nerf.

      Last season I started with 4 Blitzers, 4 Goblins, 1 Thrower, 3 Blorcs, 3 Rerolls. Goblins are a controversial starting roster but they can get into assisting position easily thus they are able to stand adjacent to the Blitzer that is either just throwing a Block or on the way Blitzing; it worked well for me last season.

      They really aren't but unlike a lot of teams you get 4 of them

      With elfs relatively weaker and claw/mb not stacking, I think orcs will be much stronger (I think they're a solid tier 1 team, though not top 5).

      @@deckerCKY why not top 5?

      Orcs are definitely improved in some ways, and therefore remain a solid tier 1 team. What keeps them just outside of the best teams club is that they are still susceptible to being bogged down by good dodging/screening teams like elves and reliable teams like dwarfs. If the dice are good though, orcs can smash anyone.

    so can one player take both guard and defensive? How does that not end in a defguard race where neither can do anything?

    • @michaelpipe5488
      @michaelpipe5488 3 роки тому +3

      Personally i think it’s interesting. Guard is useful on pretty much every player in the game, whereas defensive, which is useless in a game featuring zero guard, is probably going to appear on only one or two players to avoid tv bloat. Then it becomes a question of good positioning/distribution for guard/defensive players when they’re matched against each other. More strategy = more fun in my book.

      Great breakdown from Michael here (thanks!!) - I don't think we'll see Defensive until it's the better option against the meta within your league; depending on how BB3 works (Seasons or Eternal format) we'll see it there to counter Guard spam!

    wait so i missed the reroll change, does having more rerolls not affect tv?

    • @deckerCKY

      Multiple rerolls can be used per turn (just not for the same roll).

    Has anyone developed a BUB as a juggernaut+frenzy blitzer? It seems like a valid avenue now with 5 speed to go along with that 4 strength.

  • @WoWisdeadtome
    @WoWisdeadtome 3 роки тому

    I don't usually take a thrower on an Orc team. With 4 blitzers you can afford to build one for carrying the ball where he is just straight up superior to the thrower. He has an extra move and an extra armor and starts with block and doesn't have animosity against everything.
    The thrower was never a great passer before and is slightly worse now with the negatrait. The fact you can guarantee getting dodge on the ball handler now is the way to go I think. Take sure hands and dodge on one blitzer he's tough, hard to knock down and you can't strip ball off him. He serves as your ball recovery as well if you can turn the ball over on the opponent's drive.

    Great! Thanks for the info. I like listening to your podcast while painting. Nice to have something on in the background.
    Also, it seems the human and orks team have been pulled off the games workshop store. So that's a little annoying.

      Yeah I've heard rumours of this!! That's got to be a re-packaging thing though, as the teams are in the rulebook and to be fair - they're pretty good miniatures!!

    You talk about Pile Driver and guard seperately. Have you recocnized, that guard now always helps you (in cases without defensive)?
    Guard gives u a guaranted assist nowadays, but there is no rule, this only counts on blocks. The mechanic triggers on fouls, too and so it also combos up with piledriver. Orcs are a guardheavy team, and they got cheap goblins. I see a hell of guardplayers blocking u down and when u survive (the block and the piledriver), then a cheap goblin will finishes it. I mean, compared to blackorks they won't get cheap bribes, but who cares, when u can remove a wardancer (for example)

    I've never really played orcs, but they've always been a favorite team for many people. I don't understand why they decided to nerf the hell out of them. Animosity IMO just makes doing any kind of ball maneuvers a very sketchy proposition. The thrower really got hit hard IMO. Animosity to the whole team? They may as well just reworked the thrower into a runner and give him sure hands and some other skill. Pass becomes pretty much useless in most circumstances. I just don't get why they would do that to one of the core teams. Maybe I'm over thinking it.

    • @WoWisdeadtome
      @WoWisdeadtome 3 роки тому

      I'd actually just build one blitzer to be the ball handler. Give him sure hands and dodge, at least he doesn't have animosity towards everything.
      Furthermore he's just superior to the thrower generally having +1 on both MA and AV and starts with block. He pulls double duty as ball recovery if you can turn it over on your opponent's drive as well. With two skills each (assuming both want blodge) the thrower has pass over the blitzer, the blitzer has +MA and +AV and fewer animosity troubles. I know which I'd rather have. If Orcs only got two blitzers it'd be a different story but I see no problem with it here having access to 4 blitzers.
