    Hi Ben!
I appreciate you doing all these build presentations. Thank you.
    I love a good debate.
Like on 9:12 you suggest to wait for 18 SPP for a stat up for a werewolf. Wich is great, yet it's more expensive than it used to be to take +AG or +ST.
+ST now being at 80k makes it equivalent of the value of a average lineman with a primary picked skill.
If one thing I have learned about Blood Bowl is that Block and Dodge are Tier S skills because the have an effect on both players turns. Guard does this as well but now (on defense only) be countered by Defensive agility skill, just like Dodge and Block are countered with Tackle and Wrestle, respectively.
So I would be more happy to take Blodge first on my pricey (125k) positional to protect my investment. And then save up for 24 SPP to become a true star player in the next league. Because realistically that much SPP is not what I expect to grab in one league season local table top.
I would totally save up for a stat increase on my ball handlers: werewolves and ghouls. Just having ST4 on the ball carrier or AG 2+ is game winning in it's own coupled with Blodge.
Sprinkle in some guard on the wraiths and one golem, add some block on second golem and zombo's for the line. Wrestle I don't like as much on low MA players.
I would however appreciate a stat upgrade on a block zombo. Just having AV 10+ makes him that much better take punches, what he's made for. And with +AV only at 10k that Block AV 10+ Regen piece costs 70k.
Yeah I'm up for some long league play if I want to play werewolves. So you're right that they are great for online leagues where you can play that more games.
    I love speaking to you.
    Thanks and Namaste

Dude, I Love this break down!! Thank you!
Actually Blodge-wolf *then* saving up the SPPs is brilliant; Blodge is even going to help with a few incidental casualties and extra TDs!
I really love a cheeky Wrestle Zombie though, dragging a star to the ground on defence ready for a free foul the next turn has always been brilliant!

@@BoneheadPodcast yeah, that's why I totally would gamble some random primaries on zombies.
Might get a decent skill out of it more than half of the time.
And only Nuffle knows if the zombie will live long enough to get to 6 SPP, unless you are using steered MVP.

adding mighty blow to werewolves will be a great combo with claws for taking out big guys.

I also like Jump Up on the Werewolf. More speed and when he is prone even then the oppoment counts how far away he has to be even from the prone one so even then he covers a big part of the pitch.
    The wolfes are very feared.😊

as a necromantic player, i will leave my opinion and goal if you are interested to read this. flesh golem is the least value for amount spent out of all the positionals on the team, they are nearly 3x the cost of a lineman for more tankyness. the wraiths are the most value for dollar spent and when building a new team, i always get 2, and if possible, rehire wraiths from previous leagues if at 3rd rank or lower, their negatrait is worth it to help them focus into a more of a fighter position and they are really good at it. and of course the werewolf, the star player, gotta have one but i find a large diminished return when purchasing the second as i believe its because of the lack of blitzing available for the second werewolf to activate in a given turn as it seems they are best when they are making a long range rage to the face icbm block. my preferred starting roster for league would be 2x wraith 2x werewolf 7x zombie and 4 reroll, but since the team pack only comes with 6 zombies, my alternative choice is 5x zombie 2x ghoul runners 2x wraith 1x flesh golem 1x werewolf and 3x reroll.
as skill building zombie - 1kick/dirty player, ghoul - 1sneaky git 2dirty player, flesh golem - 1guard 2block, wraith - 1mighty blow 2takle 3dodge 4guard, and the WEREWOLF - 1pro 2block 3mighty blow 4strength+/movement+ 5tackle(if strength chosen previously otherwise>)jump up/dauntless/sprint 6random. the list of skill that i have put with each position only goes as long as i plan to keep that player so yes i want to get a werewolf all the way to the final rank experience level
this team like i said in my opnion is to be the most lethal team in any given league, EVERYONE is to fear you, you will kill for zombies with the power of st3, foul more than you opponent with your vast amount of dirty players.for every successful Armour penetration its 1:48 chance and with dirty player or mighty blow modifiers make that 1:28.8 chance to kill. im glad they made death more likely now :D

I'd be curious to see how this team builds with Surfing and Control specifically in mind. Just as a hypothetical we ignore ball-related skills and entirely focus on clearing the pitch. Could be interesting.

Hey, thanks for the content. I have a question regarding the Werewolf: Since you have Runner-Ghouls, Blocker/Guard-Wraith and 'Meat', what do you think about a Sacker-Wolf with Juggernaut and Strip Ball. I thought they may combo pretty well with a Guard Wraith.

  • @JersyCityDevil
    @JersyCityDevil Рік тому

As always a great presentation and I agree with basically everything you said. Here's one question to the comments: I'm currently running Necromantic in a league where my division has six teams. I already won my first match against Khorne and my Werewolf received Block. Next up are Chaos Dwarves. The remaining three opponents will be Skaven, Lizardmen and Pro Elf. For those three matches, I really want a player with Tackle on my roster. I am tending to put it on a Ghoul after my next match. I know, that's unconventional. But my reasoning is that (i) a Ghoul will be the next player to level up, (ii) it is actually quite decent for blitzing, since it cannot be prevented from moving as easily as other pieces due to inherent Dodge (I actually did use them in this way during the first match to stop breakaway ballcarriers), (iii) my Wights, who would also be good candidates for this skill will probably only level up once during this league and I really, really want them to have Guard. So what do you think: Tackle on a Ghoul (+) or (-)?

    Hey!
New coach here. I'm gonna play a Necromantic Coach who last time absolutely crippled my fiancé's dash team (5 injuries - two of them stat reductions, 1 dead) and played really dirty (lots of fouls). I'm going into the game with a little bit of retribution on my mind. Ideally, I want to take out or cripple his werewolf (he's got block now in addition to everything else). What's the best way of going about it? First take out the rest of the team? Go for the wolf as soon as I can? Foul a lot?
Also happy to take out others, he's got 2 ghouls, 2 Fleshgolems, and 2 wraiths.
Any tips? Playing Lizardmen, 1 Crox, 4 Saurus, so I got a strength advantage, and am close in speed. Not much in the way of skills yet.
    Thanks!

I’d be much more inclined to take Block rather than Wrestle on a zombie, just due to their low MA, having them on the ground could end up leaving them out of the action. But it could definitely punish blockers on the opponent’s team on their turn if they 1/9

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  4 роки тому +1

Oh totally! I was thinking with Wrestle that tagging a big guy or positional and having the Zombie drag it down can be pretty useful! But yeah, Block keeps them up and in position!

@@BoneheadPodcast I could definitely see it as a big guy marker actually. They didn’t typically have block before, but with the new progression, I think there’ll be a LOT more 😂 and with MA2-MA6, they won’t get far off the ground

Can't wait to play necro (proxy but still) in a league! I think the wraiths are underrated, give them guard and they are the most annoying pieces in the game for your opponent, with sidestep and foul appearance on top of block
Note on break tackle : you said BT would mean a 2+ dodge for FG and zombies, but it would be a 3+ only. On the other hand, BT on the wraiths is a 2+ dodge, so that will be my 2nd skill on them (1 guard, the other one tackle, then BT for the mobility)

    • @trashfire9641

I have to admit that I was too blinded by the no hands on a team with only access to 4 AG 3 players.
But when I played Necromantic during the last World Cup I didn't recall ever using them to carry the ball anyway.
The fact that Side-Step is very annoying on guard makes up for that. Foul Appearance only makes it worse to try to block the guard piece. Combined with Stand Firm Guard ST4 Golem can really frustrate the opponent.

I bought this team just because I liked the way it looks. Looking at the team though I see the wraiths taking forever to skill up since they have no hands. Your relying on CAS and MVPs only.
Yeah, don't think I would ever choose to wait for 18spp for a stat up vs. blodge!

I got the team fot both looks and diversity of positionals. Theres a blitzer, a runner, a brawler and a frenzy mofo. Linemen are meh, but that's why they cost 40k and I'm not sorry for feeding them to mark a big guy. Played 5 games in my local pre league, gonna take them int the main league certainly in favour of my dark elves (which have horrendous case of bad luck, It is becoming a meme locally).
