    As a lifelong motorcyclist, who only got back into cycling aged 60 for fitness, and weight loss reasons, and now am a born again cyclist too, i love this bloke and his attitude and products.
    Kudos sir!.
    Kind regards from a Brit, NE Thailand.

    I'm impressed that you took the time to go to HK, PRC and Taiwan....wherever is necessary to ensure that the machining and overall build quality is up to spec with your particular sub(s) and at a dollar price that makes sense. I understand it's personal for you and without that level of oversight it's your customers who would end up doing the QC! Awesome!

    I've had a Plus for two years and an original Diamond frame for over 5 years, both bikes are excellent, probably 15% better than any other bike I've had in the last 20 years. If you're in doubt, get one. Great Mountain Bike, but also great touring, gravel, adventure and road. I'm a big fan of the truss fork and the Plus climbs so well. Nice one Jeff keep doing what you're doing.

    I rode the Hotter N Hell Hundred the last 2 years on a single speed fat bike. Some riders made fun of me assuming I am poor and stupid. They asked why I don't buy a proper race bike? I told them when considering a bike remember the most versatile and adaptable component of a bicycle is the rider. An experienced, and thus fit, rider on one of your bikes is capable of riding 99% of ALL riding scenarios because your designs eliminate the limitations put on the rider by uncompromising machines.

    Where were you when I bought my Bad Habit 1 a few years ago? No, but really, I love the engineering in my full suspension bike AND the 3" plus tires = Clydesdales. Now to get your handlebars and see how that feels before I buy your bike. Fantastic promo video. I can't tell you how happy I am that the plus 3" tires came out tubeless. Feels like a proper bicycle for big boys.

    For that travel i will do i had Trek 520 in mind, then i saw this one. How it performe with thinner tire on road? my trip is mostley road but some off-track too. Am 6.2 is large the biggest size?

    • @Veloperator
      @Veloperator  3 роки тому

      Skinnier tires will give you a rougher rider with less traction, higher rolling resistance, and more punctures. Jeff recommends the bigger tires as shown in this video for a smoother ride, better traction, and less rolling resistance. Yes, at 6'2" our large would be a great fit for you. Check out the sizing info on our site for more: jonesbikes.com/jones-sizing/

    Turning radius?

  • @rudycaruso4757
    @rudycaruso4757 2 роки тому

    I have a question, I have a downhill mountain bike and my back bother's me from time to time and I was thinking of using the Jones Bar to give me a more comfortable position. Would you put one on this bike and if so what about with a ergo shift grip with a stubby bar end?

    • @Veloperator
      @Veloperator  2 роки тому

      A Jones H-Bar will be more comfortable and improve your bike's handling, so it is a good idea!
      I recommend the 710 bar since it has more hand positions and will let you sit more upright. Like this: ua-cam.com/video/Ndt8Di_TjJE/v-deo.html You may need the 2.5" rise version of the bar to get the grips high enough:
      I do not recommend the ergon type grips. You need to use the long grips and set up the bar as in our manual to get the benefits of the hand positions you need. Ergon grips are only necessary when you have a single position handle bar that is low and forward with too much pressure on your hands. When it is set up right, you will have very little or no pressure on your hands. Check out the manual to see how we recommend setting up the H-Bars: jonesbikes.com/content/Jones_H-Bar_GUIDE_web_v3.pdf

    Makes me want to sell all my bikes and get the custom built. Maybe just keep the road bike.... a vintage steel frame road bike.

  • @l2-4upphysicaltrainingover40

    Why no consideration for internal frame bags? The internal triangle for back packing is pretty much a standard! Odd tubing choices makes many of us ,not see the common features that persist. If I were somewhere that had rent a bike…OK…sure! But in my garage, I can’t fit it for all my needs. Sorry…looks odd, so it’s different! Ok??? ….
    You can’t make a Kona Rove type steel bike that offers weird no compromises?

    Love that front truss fork on your titanium bike.
    What width Maxxis tyres were they, 3 inches?
    Can your Cromoly Jones bike take a Rohloff hub? i.e. could the rear drop out be available in horizontal configuration?
    I feel the same way about my Surly Troll. It just does everything and very comfortably. With a Rohloff hub it is almost a perfect bike.

    I love the new bike Jeff.........I have several of your handlebars but not a bike...not that they were too expensive it is really because your a purist and probably never offer anything for us older riders aka Ebikes. I think it would be easy for you to do especially give that you are now engaged with asians. There are several new motors that could be incorporated into the frame that are reasonable priced such as the new Bafang....of course there is Bosch as well but not really enough power. An IGH and a bafang would be a killer bike with you name stamped on. You have name brand recognition...just saying............I am 70 years old...just saying that too......:)

      This is kind of an all round bike and having a mid drive makes it more versitle

    • @johncunningham60
      @johncunningham60 6 років тому +2

      I have both... 3 Ebikes.......2 hubs and one mid drive. Hub motors belong on flat ground. Gearing is worthless. That is why Tesla cars have quit trying to make a transmission with gears work. I have found in any kind of load like on a beach in sand or going it rough or hills.....my geared mid drive runs with ease in these conditions. The hub drives struggle..they are max 750 watt. If I was rolling where Jeff roles you need a mid drive. I would leave the hubs in the dirt as they get hotter and hotter. I even have a 12t from Paul which should be better.not installed yet. I think you will see more and more mid drives in the future. Guys like Juiced Bikes ( Tora sells lots of bikes) have not gone to it because it will RAISE the price of his bikes and he knows most people are just joy riders and 90% of his buyers are just newbies who ride around the block. Big watt hub motors require lots of battery and a very good controller so they are out...a cheap mid drive just flat works...
