- This is an old video from 2020 and is part of my Abandonware series.
You may have seen this one before but I thought why not upload it so you can all see what 2020 SMOOREZ was like.
It's nothing special but this was this supposed 168,000mAh Powerbank by "SAMSUNG" that also had the Hulk on it because why not!
I tried finding this so I could actually properly revisit it but I can't find it.
I think this was uploaded when I had 20K subs back in May 2020.
Had it on the channel for about a year but was told it was too much a knockoff of dankpods and over time I didn't want to feel like I was copying so I took it down and decided to just leave it in my archive to never see the light of day again but here we are in 2024 and you can see for yourself what this video was all about.
Apologies for not having a good video out this week since I am on break. I was just going through
my archive and found this and when I realized it was 4 years ago that I originally made it and then
about a year or so that I took it down - it was worth salvaging just for the new viewers.

Our mate Danky does his thing his way with his unique sense of humour, and you do your thing your way with your sense of humour. Sure in reviewing tech stuff (decent right through to odd/weird etc) there may be a little crossover, but heck, ya get that everywhere what with UA-cam and it's 'Squillions' of content creators. Dankpods is great. But you two are completely different. He buys to laugh at them and move on, where you actually go much further in detail.

you and dankpods are completely different in looking into things, you being more intrigued and curious doing some deep info on things you find while dankpods is just being destructive funny on stuff he finds - sometimes it's not really my cup of tea cause i do sometimes scavenge old stuff from thrift stores and just fiddle with them. hope you can continue this series in the future.
I think the brand "SAMSUNG" is a typo. I believe that the brand of this power bank is "SMASNUG".

Dude Wade would never put you down or think you are “stepping on his toes” You guys have 2 different styles and I love them both.
I love watching both you and Dankpods. I actually discovered you (early 2022) before Wade(mid 2022) and both of y'all remind me greatly of Ashens(mid 2012).
Whoever said you were a knockoff of dankpods are absolute idiots, I never really liked him as he is quite loud but you are just right, I can go sleep while your videos are playing and not wake up with some random destroying of electronics or screaming.
I sub to you and Wade, and while you both love to look into nuggets or dingus phones/items, you each have your own charm imo. Don't stop the cashies series, I enjoy the way you make content
I hate it when people say "This is a video of INSERTNAMEHERE's videos" - Who cares if Smoorez made a video that is kinda like Dankpods, if anything, that is actually a good thing because it means we get more of that type of content we enjoy.
Marvel and DC are both copying each other ALL the time, yet people still enjoy each side. Apple and Samsung always steal ideas from each other yet people buy from both companies.
Clearly, if one person/company is making content good enough that others "copy" it, then why is that a bad thing? If anything it shows that it is good content and people "cloning" it will only add more content to watch.
I do not think you are copying Dankpods nor ever were, To me you are only making videos in your own style that happens to be like his videos, both are enjoyable to watch and neither is better than the other (since I enjoy both). If anything it actually makes it easier to watch since my brain does not have to process other things (like maybe some Cine-Shots or something).

Wade's style is totally different than yours, which isn't a bad thing, while you take your time to go in depth, Wade doesn't have much patience, he is destructive when the thing won't listen, and you keep on trying until it does what you want. You see? 2 complete different styles! I love to watch Wade and i love to watch you, i'm subbed to both! The stated capacity is 18,667 times higher than the calculated value.
If you do the math, you get 34,2Wh/3,8V=9Ah *1.000=9.000mAh.
I doubt it has 9Ah , that would actually be a very decent amount for the money.
I thought it was really funny how they had the 34.2Wh @ 3.8V stated on the back, likely the actual capacity, but then they lie and say 168,000 mAh.
34.2 Wh is the total energy stored in the battery
The formula for relating energy (Wh), voltage (V) and capacity (mAh) is:
Energy (Wh) = Voltage (V) x Capacity (mAh) / 1000
We have:
Energy = 34.2 Wh
Voltage = 3.8 V
By replacing in the formula:
34.2 Wh = 3.8 V x Capacity (mAh) / 1000
Capacity (mAh) = 34.2 Wh x 1000 / 3.8 V
Capacity (mAh) = 9000 mAh
Regular Li-ion battery is 3.6V, not 3.8V

All the information is avaliable, if you google for the typical 1865 battery characteristics data sheet.

I've visited Panasonic website, they rate NCR18500A, NCR1850B, UR14500AC, NCR18650GA and a lot of other 18650 batteries as 3.60V (nominal).

I remember having one of those in 2017. The charging speed was really slow and it can only charge my 3000mAh phone to 85% before it died and needing to charge again. I've thrown it away after several months because the entire powerbank started to get extremely hot while charging and instantly died when I unplugged it from the charger
i didn't see the video before but it's so funny how they slapped "galaxy s edge" in the back and said: yep, totally legit product made by samsung (it should have been funnier if they printed smasnug XD). btw yes i would like to see more of this kind of videos, they are funny af.

Ey SMOOREZ. You should take a look at the new Energizer Hard Case P28K ($250), presented at the MWC today. I like it because it is supposed to be an uber-ruggedized phone, but apparently it is somewhat screwed after 1 day of show 🤣Specs-wise it seems a gigantic Unihertz Jelly Star.
Well, to be fair, some phones would not display charging icon for long if they are completely drained. Reason being simply to conserve energy. You need to wait couple of minutes, then you could turn on phone and charge as normal.

It's going to be X5. So if they are 2000mah cells, it would be 10,000mah. If they are 1200mah cells, it would be 6,000mah. Etc.
If I still worked at my old lab, I would be tempted to put this though FCC certification testing on my down time just to try and see if Smooez should be a born again Christian.
Without having a better look at the PCB, my best guess is it would fail. There isn't much filtering to control the switching frequencies so Shane probably doesn't need to go buy a new bible and head to the church daily just yet
I guessing 1800 mAh because it said 34.2 Wh and there 5 cell at 3.8 V. Look at 5:35 in the video and just above where it says Made in Korea it says 3.8v li-on BATTERY 34.2 Wh.
It's either 1,600mAh or 1,800mAh. Not sure how many of those cells are just fake/blanks and only 2 are the real 1s.

Yeah, after seeing those cells I can confidently say it's not even going to be 9000mAh. Some of the cells may be fake, and the others are at best going to be 2000mAh each, but more likely 1,000mAh each. And those charging ports certainly won't do 2A each especially all three of them at once.
They kinda gave the game away with the Wh, it is 6840 mah.
Accounting for typical degradation in storage, around 6k.

It's like saying "The Avengers" are a ripoff of "The Magnificent Seven" because both movies involve a group of people uniting to fight a common enemy and prevent people from being more or less enslaved by an army of bandits. Yeah, that thing is definitely not 168 Amp Hours... if you run the numbers on the voltage and watt-hours provided, it's actually 9,000mAh or 9Ah, though I wouldn't even trust that to be accurate!
The back says "3.8V 34.2Wh". So, the battery capacity is 9,000 mAh, not 168,000 mAh.
That also solves that 1 blue battery in there is 1,800 mAh.

For other to check if you're powerbank is fake check if you put a magnet on it will stick
I mean, Dankpod's videos are entertaining but they get very annoying pretty quickly. I stopped watching after he smashed a music player when it didn't work first try (most likely because the copy of windows xp he tried to connect it to didn't have MTP enabled). Just the fake overreactions to everything are so jarring...

as soon as i saw the funky led and in put port i knew what board was inside it.. i have the same one .. i got it for like 2 usd like 7 years ago off amazon or aliexpress with a build your own battery bank for 18650s... it actually still use it but first i had to reattach some of the battery ports due to it shorting and wanting to make the batterys get very hit and start on fire. i still dont really trust it very much. the 3 usb ports is weird. it will charge up 18650 or similar form factors but using it just for that seems like a gamble. the three lights should "display" the level bank has in charge, at least thats how the one i have is... it has a red 3 digit "display" thought..
