Greetings and welcome to another Random Mini Review!
A series in which I try to review something in under 10 Minutes and fail at most of the time.
Today I bring you something I found on my travels during my break and that is a knockoff/bootleg Funko Pop Figure.
I used to be a big fan of these but nowadays it's just very "meh".
If I see one cheap and I like it then I'll grab it but otherwise I'd prefer better merchandise for my favorite pop culture stuff.
But I was curious when I found the bootleg to see if it was anything like the real deal and a few weeks later I ended up finding the real deal at my local collectible shop and decided to grab it and put it next to the bootleg.
Then I randomly thought "Hey I should show everyone this and the other ones I seen"
And here we are.
Yeah nothing too interesting, just me playing with some figures on my desk but I don't know maybe 1 or 2 of you might be interested in this sort of thing :)

@@Boogie_the_cat I thought we saw the end of them too. Last year Funko destroyed $30 Mil USD worth of unsold merchandise. You would figure with something like that, the fad was over. Nope. I have three. Mr.Met, a large version Godzilla and the Furby.

when the whole incentive of collecting these is manufactured scarcity, Honestly-I think it’s healthy that bootleg collectibles like this exist.

All pops look the same. I don't understand the appeal of making all your favorite characters look the same with nearly rectangular heads (the human ones)

Never been the biggest fan of these things myself. I have a Mordecai Pop that I picked up in 2013, simply because it was my first exposure to the figure line and I love Regular Show. Apparently this thing is now rare but whatever... I recently acquired a second one as a gift from my sister who gave me a Godzilla Ultima Pop, admittedly looks a lot better than most other Pops I've seen but I'm keeping it based on sentimental value alone since it genuinely means a lot that I can get anything from her. In the box this time, though, I think it makes a better display piece of that way.

i like funko pops but i don't have space or money to even start to buy them lol. i like the design of them but i prefer actual figures since they have more detail and can be posed as you want them to be. i love the bootleg one, it's so small and adorable i honestly don't mind if had one of this.
We must build the great wall of funko pop!
The difference is, the fake one will get granted Dragon type status some day without needing a fancy one and done new form.

you must not have been on UA-cam from 2014-2017 when lutcrate was a thing and every UA-camr over 100k subs got overly excited as they unboxed their crate subscription which contained an assassin creed funkopop or whatever was trending around that time
I have quite a few but lost interest when my profile on the app got messed up and when contacting the staff would just send me generic emails in return . Slowly starting to catalogue my collection again with a different email address but then placing them in storage for time being 😬
I am not a fan of Funko Pops but I see SMOOREZ so I click to watch.
As for why I do not like Funko (or any figuring styled like them), just watch Ashens videos on them, you will quickly understand why.
Fun video. The real one looks great ( I'm too old for this stuff lol) but the fake is really kinda cute. ❤😂

Never really got the Funko pop thing. Many friends became obsessed for a while. In theory i should be a target audience but they just didn't appeal.

The FunkoPops don't really meet my taste, especially the humanoid ones with the dead black eyes and the weird head shape. They look like the ones in the video where a man eats soup while crying.
I'll rather have realistic action figurines, best hand painted like the Robocop and Obi Wan Kenobi ones i have on my work desk. I don't really care about collecting and keeping stuff in their boxes just to make a profit, but rather have them as nice pieces of decoration.

The fake one looks better. The difference in color between the tail and body looks horrible on the real one.
Also the real box looks just bad. Like why is the text so weird and the circle with the number cut off at the top and bottom.
Honestly, it does not look like large difference in quality. Bootleg has smaller body, therefore it weighs less. Original is heavily overpriced and I doubt modern kids even play with them.

I very much dislike Funko Pops, they're soulless cash grabs made of plastic, I still own a few but mostly just the Eevee ones or garbage ones I got in Loot Crates and stuff, they're generally pretty dogshit, though the more modern ones tend to look a SMIDGE better, but not by much.
I don't mind...don't get a ''CLONED'' one, it's a waste of money. do a review of drones.

I hate them lol. Nothing but cheap, mass produced copy-pasted figures that cost way more than needed. And why are they everywhere? They aren't even special. Yesss, it has your special limited edition character of some random unknown media but I don't care.
Also your pronunciation of funko is funny. I thought everyone pronounces it as "foonko" but oh well
Yeah I'd rather find other merchandise for my favorite brands or whatever. The goofy big head and big black eyes just throw me off. As I said in the video, if I see one cheap then yeah ok but I don't collect them at all. Just one's I have found to be "ok".
Why do you recommend people skip the literal most watchable and interesting videos you put out?
Oh cause these ones aren't meant for everyone cause I mainly do tech and something like this doesn't really appeal to a large audience so I just give the option if that makes sense?
