I thought that was a terrible interview! The guest kept getting interrupted and was about to give some really good information near the end and was cut off. Terrible. The guest was trying hard to give the viewer some good info, too.
I have six trailers, all parked in the barn. Last year I had to buy 4 sets,,COMPLETE SETS of tires. Over $4000 Thanks for the info.
If the reporter would have just listened, he and us would have learned more.
So why didn't tires dry rot years ago?
I have a 37+ year old full size spare for my '75 Nova that has never dry rotted.
When the anchor thinks they are more interesting than the guest
I've had loads of tyres crack like this, it's so frustrating, apparently 303 Aerospace protectant works really well in preventing it, wish i'd found this out sooner.
I have had Michelin tires start to crack after 3 years. The treads were still good.
Phil Jerome My Good Years are doing the same not too bad but still getting the replaced for my safety
So how about a comparison for this problem of US made vs the cheap overseas products. I am seeing the market getting flooded with these and very alarmed. I just returned 4 tires that were 3 year old from a China manufactured. They only had 10,000 miles on them sold by Sears. The split is buried in the tread all the way around and would soon separate. Since all 4 had the same problem this is a true manufacture defect.
So my 4 year old tires are down after seeing this video that’s just great is what it is though
is 303 rubber protectant worth buying ? and does it work ?
Yes , I periodically spray the sidewalls of my tires with it . And when I have the opportunity to spray the inside walls .
I bought a set of alloys that are Donkeys years old, tyres from 04, they pumped up alright, sound, rock hard now like plastic
It is true, some 10 years old tires could be better than 4 years old. It depends on what brands/model and how they are kept. Garage kept cars rarely have dry rot even after 10 years like mine.
Periodically spray your sidewalls and if possible even the inside walls with 303 Protectant .
My dad has a 2010 car with original tires and only 27000 miles and being it's 2019 they are 9 years old and they are getting cracks. And they are michelins.
too much off topic comments from host
They rot out due to sun exposure and extreme heat. Oil in the tire dries out which causes the tire to dry rot. If the oil is no longer present then the sun and heat just kills the tires.
Keep the tires and wheels clean. Use a quality car soap that doesn't strip wax. I use a water based tire shine on the tires. Do not use armour all as they rot out the tires. Key here is to keep them clean and protected. Also keep the tires properly inflated and simply drive. A tire that sits will dry rot much quicker than one that is regularly used.
This interviewer reminds me of Andy Bernard from The Office lol
To be taken with caution. They want to sell more tires
Not a lot of information
No explanation as to why this is happening to newer tyres and not to older ones.
They should look at the video, stop replacing tires.
Would you just look at that? mmm
The host irritates me,kept on interupting. And he is childish.
You burnout and never get dryrot
LOL, this guy is full of BS. He shows pics of old tires that have barely any tread remaining and then labels it a dry rot. OMG!
