Intro -(all notes ascending from low) F# C# F# A D then F# pull off to E, then D pull off to B, G then low E B F# G D then repeat the 2 pull off steps. Lastly, F# C# F# A B E. Outro-(same low to high but on 12 string) F# F# octave F# octave A D then the same pull offs, E E octave with B open, high F# G open D then pull offs. Repeat for about 10 mins.
Wow, I knew I wasn't the only one who must have gotten completely mesmerized with these notes. This is absolutely magick, a portal opening into another reality - a subtle twist, an obtuse angle pathway into more sinister dreams...
I remember first hearing this song when I was like 11 on their website and it opened with an intro of this and the hermit overlooking the village and it took me aback. Speechless. always stayed with me since
I was listening to this song and remembering how much I love the guitar intro/outro. Achilles Last Stand is my favorite by them. The whole band perfomance is unbelievable. It is the synthesis of what this band is. Thank you for uploading this!! Such a beautiful and dark riff
A nice bit of editing. Presence, my favorite Zep LP, is also pure Led Zeppelin, no left overs from previous recordings, no pop songs for radio, no juxtaposing. The songs of Presence project a sense of self-assurance, like never before, of the band's bearing before an audience. In the past were the familiarity of earlier high spots, these had been exhausted by robbery of the bands money, personal injuries, self imposed status as tax exiles and death...
The intro/outro has a similar feeling to No Quarter, but somehow less foggy (not to say foggy is bad, it suits no quarter perfectly - cloudy nights at sea etc.). The actual, full, song though makes me think of the almost idiotic levels of courage the unimaginably talented have. Like the mighty Achilles, killing the Trojan prince outside the gates of Troy for all the city to see. The solo to the song sounds like a brutal fight, waxing and waning as the two guitar parts seem to tire and rest; followed by parts like at 08:24 of the full song, where the guitar tracks fall over each other, like they're blindly searching for a way out. As one fades, another overdub gives a retorting burst. The drum and bass combo sounds like a horse's gallop to me too, further transcending me. I know this song is essentially just about dodging tax, but the places it can take my imagination are spectacular.

No sabes como espere encontrar este video para aquellas ocasiones en las que deseaba escuchar estos arpegios y no tenia mi guitarra a la mano para tocarlos hasta el cansancio muchas gracias :)

Also i think i modified the pitch of the original because of copyright, so if it don't sound the same it's because of that

Perfection. Every single human emotion rolled into one guitar audio track. It is absolute perfection

The perfect riff to put on a loop

Finalmente! Sabía que alguien en alguna parte de este mundo también quería oír esta parte una y otra vez. Gracias :’) soy feliz
Siiiiii.
Thank you for this, I absolutely love this riff. Its beautiful, but sad at the same time.
12 string electric guitar run through a phase shifter...set to slow speed. Most likely a Phase 90. If someone is interested in achieving this tone
A delay echo gives it a big boost as well. Jimmy did it live and it’s the cherry on top 🍒
Powerful tear inducer.
Yeh it's kinda sad
Obrigado por isso. Lindo demais. Sublime.
This is what the Vikings played when they were preparing for a battle.

This is what Achilles’s alarm clock rang every morning to wake him up for a good day of killing.
good edit, nice quality. love it! it would be amazing if you remade this but with just the outro.
Morrocan influenced asccorcing to Page.
The spaceship is carried away somewhere into the void
Excellent! Now 'Nobody's Fault but Mine'?!?!
Thank you 🙏🏼
Finally
From their best album. Fantastic
Not their best album but definitely one of their best songs
Revelations
¿Por qué?
¿Por qué no?
Dios te bendiga
Thanks for this! I’ve always been fascinated by the intro and outro in particular and you’ve done a fantastic job with the editing as well!
Sad
Anyone know how to get this tone?
If you scroll in the comments theres one guy explaining it ;)
First, draw on the ground a pentagram.....
pero quiten esa mierda de efecto, esta perfecto como esta en la cancion
No tiene ningún efecto sordo
