I FINALLY UNDERSTAND!!!!. Thanks for this great video. This is the exact issue I have in my swing and you're the only one who has explained perfectly. I went to a simulator and worked on these drills. It took me about 25 min to correct and get the feel of bending that right arm.... and WOW. The big sweeping draw turned into a baby draw. More control, balance and power.
Love your work. Easy to understand where some instruction makes the game to regimented and stiff. Trying to get rid of old ingrained mistakes takes time. Sometimes your body takes over in the split second swing. But that's golf !
Great video. I've struggled with this and causes a shank for me as I stay down through the swing so I'm stretching away from the ball. Will try the drills and hope it improves. Thanks
Please clarify by bending right side, do u first shift the weight forward then bend or do together beacuz club comes down very fast and quick not enough time to do both individually.
@@jchowngolf still looking for THE issue regarding my shanks... last season I realized if I am trying to hit hit the ball from inside to outside like 45° thinking, the shots where good and the elbow needed to stay more bend to achieve this - with that I was searching here for right elbow bend :D
Please comment on Niemann pro swing where he drops his head tremendously in downswing with right side bend. He hits 300 yards in pro tour. How he does this dropping head so much? Any drill for that?
Except that with different swings and methods of shallowing the club the goal IS to straighten the right arm. In fact I drill to straighten the right arm close to the body, while the clubhead swings outwards through the ball. But I swing modeled after Tiger, Hideki, Rory.. This here ^ is a rotational swing. So people watching this should understand the huge difference. If you are watching this and you aren't using a rotational swing as he does, you SHOULD be straightening your right arm, but the shaft angle down the line at impact needs to be near identical to what it was at address.
The biggest problem that all beginners don't realise The only way to actually follow through hinges on one thing and causes regular topping and rarely getting a divot You MUST always do backswing with back leg pulling forwards and NEVER sway backwards.
I am trying to figure out if I am misunderstanding your video or if there are two different trains of thought on this and you teach one of the ways. Many other instructors teach to straighten the right arm on the downswing to shallow the club. Can you please explain where the confusion may be coming from? Here is an example: ua-cam.com/video/RRy9aK83VLg/v-deo.html
Have you never seen golfers straightening the right arm? Really!!! Check out PGA pros, it’s how they hit the ball. Are you talking about straightening the right arm before hitting the ball? Are you talking about people who hit or swing the club, if someone is a hitter they must straighten their trail arm progressively through and post impact

Man ! I’ve had so many lessons trying to correct early extension but this video has transformed my swing and early extension can’t thank you enough
This has been a huge battle for me and I like this drill. I find it helps sync up my arms and rotation (slows down the arms)
Very good explaining the swing
Great video. I've struggled with this and causes a shank for me as I stay down through the swing so I'm stretching away from the ball. Will try the drills and hope it improves. Thanks
Another great video! Hope to get out soon to try the alignment stick drill.
Great vid cheers , exactly what I’m trying to do after recent lessons , feels like I’m going to break my wrists on full swings
That’s a great drill under the arm , thanks . I take it this is for irons only as you hit the driver on the upswing ?
Great video. At what point do the wrists release?
Great insight, thanks!
This is me. No clue where the ball is goin, how I'm going to contact it, etc. Nice video!
You just fixed my game thank you
Wow !! I video my swing and I am doing both. (Open clubface and standing up) can I download my swing to you ? If so, how?
U r amazingly the best.

hey, could this error - if not keeping the elbow bend also be a reason for shanking issues?
Absolutely Ramon 👍🏼

Why do the majority of Golf Pros not pick this problem up - thanks very much for great instruction

You definitely don't want to incorporate niemanns swing... you will kill your back, I'm guessing his back won't last long either.

Ouch!
Tried this drill a while ago to keep the angle in my trail arm and everything shot left 🙈 I'm guessing you need some sort of release at a point

Thanks bud! 🤙🏻
Just drive/rotate your rear shoulder with side bend and your rear arm will have to stay flexed with the elbow tight and inside.

Exactly. Look at Nellie Korda's iron swing from down the line. She is gradually straightening the trail arm into impact.
