2:24 is perhaps one of the most unnerving performances I've ever seen in my life, just how he breaks into that breathless laughter, and the way it sounds and all, it sounds so genuine, insane and tormented. I was already floored by this film before I reached that scene, but this sealed it for me. Maybe it's a tiny, unimportant scene, but my god did it leave an impact on me with how disturbing it was.
Robert Pattinson if you ever see this, I deeply apologize for looking down on ye for Twilight. Have it your way, I like your acting.

Once he mentioned Howard wrecking that boat and chasing him with an axe I had a literal 'wait WHAT' moment. I mean, normally you can sort of understand the turnaround where you have this moment of 'Ah I see, so that's what was really going on', but in this case I had no idea who to believe. Either one was a really good liar or the other one was downright insane.

The Lighthouse, much like another A24 movie, Midsommar, leans heavily on examining a character under gaslight. Wake completely shows he's lost his grip on reality when he scuttles the lifeboat, and then claims Thomas did it. Wake's entire relation with Thomas is based on abuse and disregard.

Dafoe's character is just as much a liar, insane, man as Winslow is; but Winslow did 'spill his beans', which makes him the better man. Dafoe's character continues to conceal his sin, which makes him the lesser one. That is the tragedy of this movie; one of the many tragedies.

This movie started to remind me more and more of The Shining. You’ve got someone taking a job looking after a creepy building in an isolated area, with eerie foreshadowing of insanity and murder to come, along with a bunch of surreal events that may or may not be hallucinations. Finally, both movies end with people going axe-crazy and giving in to insanity completely, driven mad by isolation or something supernatural. Plus both movies will give you an intense phobia of lonely naked women.

Copy/Paste. Robert is a good actor, High Life, The Lighthouse, Good Time, among other films he has been have great performances of him, he is a great actor, unfortunately most people only know him from Twitlight. It has evolved from Twitlight.
-✔2017 movie trailer Good Time ua-cam.com/video/AVyGCxHZ_Ko/v-deo.html
-✔First scene of Robert Pattinson in The King (Important Note: plays the role of a French prince, the Director wanted his French accent and that his acting in the role to be exaggerated, somewhat cartoonish) ua-cam.com/video/LmSWATt5x8o/v-deo.html
-✔Bel Ami (short clip that we're watching) this was in 2012 just out of twilight and still you can see range ua-cam.com/video/nNK9b4gBO24/v-deo.html
Pattinson is very respected and beloved in the independent film industry, they have watch him grow as an actor, Unfortunately since independent films most of the time aren't designed to reach major audiences most people doesn't know about his good performances. He has an extensive filmography has been acting in Indie films for 10 years.
