Looking accessible and 'cheap' is only a stage, even if you associated your culture's traditional clothing as 'cheap'. I personally consider nakedness the greatest garment and I see the human body aesthetically. But traditional clothing I consider sacred and special in a ritualistic sense. Think about it like that - today hardly anybody speaks Swahili and wears headdress like they own it. It is easier to put on a silk dress today, than wear your traditional clothing. So this, in truth is more valuable. There is no argument against wearing traditional dress, other than somebody trying to shame you into buying clothes for a company to sell it's products. Wear nothing and come to the beach and the desert. Love!

Respectability politics is based on european beauty standards for the most part. So by pushing these politics we are not only accepting the disrespect we face based off of stereotypes but also reinforcing the narrative of these negative stereotypes.
Tignon was particularly in Louisiana but head coverings for black women were pretty much enforced in slave states. It was an undeclared standard. Not to many black women wore their hair out, and if they did it was usually very long and in a french braid or pigtails.
I like random Spanish words. Spanish turns the heat on for me. Because it's dirty and wild, according to European high class standards. I hate Russian because of this, too. It's scary how cold-hearted Russians with money are. I also am very excited by the language heritage, including African languages. To me it is interesting how people use sounds in their languages - sounds they make with mouth, like they are chewing or giving a kiss. But it's part of the language. It is very interesting to study that. I wish there were lectures on traditional linguistics of Africa. The south American Indians already have started exploring their indigenous languages in podcasts I follow and love. The unknown is exciting. So it's fascinating to hear words you kind of understand, but might not be clear with fully. Or even listen to songs in language you don't comprehend, but love the rhythm, tone of voice, or melody. I love African folklore/traditional songs even though I have no understanding of the lyrics. They don't matter when emotion is involved. /I'm interested in most cultures around the world. And hearing their words is interesting for me, it's a treasure we don't use currently - old languages/
All those that want to wear Bonnet can do so as long as they are happy - just want to know if they would wear it in the boardroom in front of the CEO of a multinational company? All these excuses....oh well they can wear what they want right?
No one's going to wear a bonnet there, this is about women being accosted just for wearing bonnets to do simple tasks. I wanna go to the dollar tree or grab a quick mea wearing my bonnetl. No multimillionaire is gonna approach me about a job in these locations.

I CAN'T ahahahhahhah, I totally get you !!! Thanks for watching and engaging with me
Just because you dress NICELY, doesn’t make you a NICE PERSON.
As an African who lives in Africa where majority of black women cover their hair traditional, I’m so confused
I get you completely
These laws were only made for the state of Louisiana, not the whole country.
Tignon was particularly in Louisiana but head coverings for black women were pretty much enforced in slave states. It was an undeclared standard. Not to many black women wore their hair out, and if they did it was usually very long and in a french braid or pigtails.
I love this vid and I haven’t even watched it
I like random Spanish words.
😍😍😍😍😍
All those that want to wear Bonnet can do so as long as they are happy - just want to know if they would wear it in the boardroom in front of the CEO of a multinational company?
All these excuses....oh well they can wear what they want right?
You probably would not find that many black people in that room, would you say that black people do not belong there?
No one's going to wear a bonnet there, this is about women being accosted just for wearing bonnets to do simple tasks. I wanna go to the dollar tree or grab a quick mea wearing my bonnetl. No multimillionaire is gonna approach me about a job in these locations.
You are what they call modern woman and yes dress how you wanna be adressed go dressed half naked to a job interview see the reactions you need to mature your mind the truth is everyone judges no matter what noone is justifying it but if you dress a certain way people will judge you certain way so just stop
Man I don’t care she is just asking sista’s to take some pride in your appearance. It is the same way with brotha’s and the pants sagging. Come on brotha pull your pants up. Nobody wants to see you underwear. Sad if everybody is offended.
