Huge thanks to you Lowko for casting my games, and i hope everyone enjoyed the cast! Hopefully i can improve enough this year to make it into this channel sometime more
Hi ! Just wanted to say, watching your games was refreshing ! And incredibly fun and feel-good ! I've watched lots of SC2 games and it had been quite some time since I was : "wow, I love this person playstyle, I hope they can improve just a little bit more so they can do what *they* want and compete with some of the very best players. So yeah, I enjoyed this cast way more than most of the recent ones I watched (which were very good !). Your playstyle, what you show in your games here, what you want to do and how you react, it's all very refreshing, and if the micro (esp. in the defense I guess ? I'm just a gold player with 20 matches but I imagine that's what was hard in the early game as zerg, as lowko pointed it) gets better, you definitely are one of the person I'll want to see cast more often ! And even then, while you're progressing, I hope you'll be featured more often. I know, or rather guess, you didn't play these games for any of us watching here, but I'm still thankful to have been able to watch them. Go forth, and wether in SC2 or outside, i hope you'll be able to do what you want and thrive doing so !
Go for it, man! It's a HUGE deal making it into these big tournaments, win or lose. You only get better by playing people who are better than you are, which means a lot of up-front losses that will lead to eventual success.
Lowko: "Usually you have to stop droning before 40" Man, I really need to start working on that passive income, I'm already 32 and still droning away at a job with no end in sight
Honestly I stopped watching SC2 because every single pro was just opening with 3 bases and going macro. It's SOOO boring and they just agree to not punish each other for it. I don't know how you get so into a game if all you want to do is make it a boring macro slog fest.
2:18 did you know if you attack move then click hold order; your units will prioritize the largest threat within range; meaning zergling when spine is building and when zerglings move they stay on hold reprioritizing the building again. amazing right? you can avoid all needless overmicro on units killing buildings by using HOLD position order instead ^^ it is worth mentioning that you can do the same with walls. you amoved your zerglings only 3 of them can attack because good wall-in; then you click hold move and now all the zerglings just running dumbly up against the buildings will attack instead and stay and attack stuff that attacks them without moving after it into bad spots. you can even micro 1draw+a+click 1/3 of the 15+ zergling it often is through to the other side and only 3-1 extra zergling is wasted for a while; the higher better micro the less zerglings are wasted, either way the dmg inflicted is vastly higher and maybe something will be snipable bc P doesn't respect it and cheap out to only melee units or low defense^^
Later on Skillous 2:0 everybody in his group, including Solar and Heromarine. Skillous is really good in normal games, but he kind of falls apart in chaotic ones. Plus it seems to me he have self-confidence issues. Sadly both of his weaknesses caused him to loose vs Showtime (last time they met it was Skillous who 2:0 Showtime), but this time Showtime really did his homework against Skillous well. I guess he needs just more experience... PS. By the way, can Skillous be now considered part of the "Dutch gang"? xD
a while ago you made a cast where in the middle of it you discovered that banshees have teeth on them this week i learned a fun fact; apparently goliaths in starcraft 2 have teeth too! ( at least some versions of it )
The first game could have been prevented by simply dragging a butt-load of probes to help deal with the aggressive expand, yes? All he had was a zealot and a probe or two and that actually almost worked. So a few more probes would have made all the difference I think; so that wouldn't have been a huge impact on the protoss player's eco. Still fun to see zerg players pull this off.
You can really see the power of Protoss at lower skill levels; I'm speaking relatively, of course, as these two are absolutely fantastic players. However, they aren't Serral or Reynor, who deflect early Protoss aggression so easily that it makes Adepts and Oracles look like complete wastes of space (note: they aren't great units). I think this is what holds Protoss back, to be honest. At lower levels of play (or low levels, such as in my case), early Protoss units can be brutally powerful, taking out workers in large numbers and getting away to come back with a larger main force. But at high levels they struggle because they have massive weaknesses that can be easily exploited with good scouting and a practiced defense.
12:31 There's no need to keep saying "would have". "Would have" is not a substitute for past tense. The correct sentence is "If this were a dark templar follow-up, this would have been gg". Same thing at 13:00. "If that were the case", not "if that would have been the case".
3:55 1000+ resources unpowered bc you cheaped out on pylons ;) also this would have been held hard if he had just started building shieldbats immediatedly, and stalkers, 1 shield bat for each stalker alive, keep doing this and keep trading energy on shield bat duo to stalkers range hit, for hp on zerg; already at like 3 stalkers and 3 bats, it becomes extremely hard to break the wall, 100min later 1 more shield makes the healing per sec quite high; and every shot of the stalkers remove a ling; it quickly escalates and even if you can't hold it the time it bought, the dmg value it got; is far better than anything else and you can just retreat into your main as Z have used a ridiculess amount of resources; wall off again with shieldbat and go air or dt :P ^^
@@Fjant_sc2 I understand that Fjant played first of all to win but I am not a fan of of cheese play. Especially all or nothing kind of cheese, i.e. I have nothing against people playing 2 Rax reaper, but I consider 3 Rax reaper or 4 Rax proxy marines to be disrespectful to your opponent. Well unless its one game in BO5 or BO7. Call me old fashioned if you want. Besides, if you play cheese you will never get better. E.g. I have a friend who play only 1 base Swarm Host cheese (which is the strongest Zerg cheese I have ever seen; if you are a Zerg player for the love of God please never do it). He got into low Masters pretty quickly, but then he got stuck there.
@@skipperg4436 Well, you can become better by cheesing, depends entirely how you do it. You can do cheeses and macro out from them, it's style dependent. But having known Fjanten since his early days I can tell you that he went from Plat to GM purely by focusing on his Macro. It's not before recently he started implementing some cheese into his builds when playing in tournaments - I tried to show him som degen cheeses back in the days but he kept with his macro. Nonetheless I dissagree, I know many players that are GM, that play different kind of cheesy play, if you don't learn to go into macro and you play very one dimensional cheeses, yes you will not improve much. But playing cheesy can make games very many dimensions into a games as it makes you jump into many different scenarios, specially if they don't always work out as you maybe intended and you have to go into a macro game from them. But yes mixing things up is probably always the way to go, just look at Bly, Has/SoS as examples for this, even Maru.
First game sends me back to one of Incontrol's legendary rants. Pretty sure the game has long since evolved from that mindset that zerg can't attack into one where the fact that zerg can indeed produce some of the filthiest all ins basically scares the other two races out of being able to play greedy for fear of getting build order killed. Hell, ZvZ basically lives on the fact that if you make a single mistake and drone when you should have made lings you lose the damn game.
@@hivetech4903 No, didn't say it was a build order win, this was just a good clean all in and, yeah, he screwed up by losing his zealots. it's just the spiciness of the attack that reminds me.

that's just because you're near sighted. if your vision was better you'd see that after droning to 80, its game over

Finally someone is casting THE CHEESE AWARD game, 1 week after the announcment, I was checking almost every day. GJ Lowko, better late then never :)

Sounds like his zerglings in the first game lol.

The zerg workers came out from larva for those who did not knew. Those are the drone wars.
What a fantastic set of games, specially the first
Cool, casted as promised! Thanks!
Oh yeah Spine Crawler Rush. So tasty, let's dig into this delicious cheese.

Shout out to my favorite caster... Winter!
that first game was awesome!
I think you think of Byun a lot you said his name at 23:17 :)

Nope, it was scouted late the hatch was almost finished, lings were coming across the map. That's the advantage of not putting the hatch in the wall.
