Target and Walmart are conceptually similar, but the vibe is very different. 😂
Target aims to be a bit more trendy and is gearing itself towards the more impulsive shoppers whereas Walmart aims more towards the long shopping trips
Much less drama and pajama wearing customers at Target!
@@mcm0324 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah Target is evil.
Well, there is no such thing as the people of Target.
I love when you hold up items that look completely normal to me and you go “oh my gosh look how huge!” HAHAHA like wow I’m humbled real quick
FYI, stores will lock up the items that are more commonly stolen. It can differ from Target to Target or Walmart to Walmart.
Target stores used to have popcorn near the door that they sold and man, that smell of popcorn hit you like a truck when you walked in.
Ours still does, right outside the Starbucks that sits inside the store
@@elainarose77 Nice!
Remember when it was Ayr-way?
Miss the caramel popcorn and regular popcorn...would buy the biggest bag of each and mix them in bowl to eat at home😂😂😂😂
right? i miss it. that along with the hotdogs and slushies
I have an autoimmune disorder and am ill a lot ! Watching your family always brightens my day and brings a smile to my face 😊
Thanks for watching Mary 🥰
You should try to start taking b1 as benfotamine...
I pray you get cured of your condition in our lifetime. I'm asthmatic since childhood so I can relate to your woes.
Hang in there Mary....we're pulling for you!!
Me too I hope you can get better I wish I could talk to you and have someone understand what I'm going through
When my daughter went to Georgia for a vacation, she ended up with so any souvenirs, she boxed it all up and shipped it home. It was a GIANT box filled with clothes, books, trinkets, etc.
I have done this myself.
Yes! I was going to ask why they don't ship some stuff home.
@@KK-ve7fh I was going to say the same! I do it all the time when I travel in the U.S. or abroad. Less expensive than buying, bringing extra luggage, and the baggage fees etc. Send a package to yourself.

Target is different depending on location. Some are bigger and nicer than others. Glad you enjoyed!❤
Agreed. I live in Minneapolis (home of Target) and this one on the video looks bad....real bad.
the differences between Target and Walmart
1. Walmart is bigger
2. Target is more upscale
and the differences between the various Walmart's is based on the community and how much thing cost they are all the same size
Just want to say what a wonderful family you have. I'm' sure there are moments behind the scenes that aren't always so swell, as is with life. But I wanted to say, you both do such a wonderful job supporting, raising, and encouraging your kids in a non-invasive, playful, and fun way. I enjoy watching your videos for many reasons. To see a family that genuinely enjoys each other's company is heartening and a testament to good parenting. With love from Minnesota.
Hey New Zealand Family, so glad you enjoyed your time in the States ❤️👍
There’s just so many fun things to see in Target. It’s little more expensive than Walmart but so much more pleasant to visit. I’m enjoying watching you all try out all the new stores and foods!! So fun.
In some of the older Walmarts. The grocery and department stores are separated by a wall, no pun intended. It wasn't until they decided on the one-stop shopping concept that the open floor plan came about.
The Walmart in my town. All the groceries are on the bottom floor, and all the departments are upstairs. The shopping cart locks into a special drive chain that parallels the escalator.
That's very interesting. I've NEVER heard of or seen a discount store like that, let alone a Walmart.
I wasn't going to post this, but one of the reasons I watch this channel is because I appreciate the interaction between the father and son. My relationship with my father was quite different, so I'm able to vicariously relive my childhood more cheerfully. We definetely would not have joked around with each other as they do in this family.
I noticed that too. It is quite pleasant to see all of the family members in general seem to enjoy each other. But it is especially noticeable with Sam and Denzy. He seems like a cool dad for sure!
Damn bro no need to bring down the mood with your own family issues
Golly I now go to these stores with a whole new perspective. I’ve never seen anyone walk into Target with such awestruck amazement before. This certainly gave me a smile. And to answer your questions, yes. There’s always Disney stuff at target. Not all Targets lock up razors and cleaners etc…. I’ve actually had never seen that. Depends on the area I think. I was once in a target that had facial wipes locked up but all the other targets I’ve been to, that’s never happened.
This video was a nostalgia trip for me to watch.
My parents lived about 5-minutes away from that exact Target store (yes, that close to Disneyland). I shopped there a lot when I would visit them.
They have both passed away in the last few years.
I enjoy all of your videos, but this one really triggered some great memories of my parents. Thank you.
No they didn’t.
The stuff that’s locked up is because in many major areas of California there is a huge theft issue with these stores. As far as which store is better, it comes down to preference and for me Target is way better than Walmart. Plus if you have a Target Red Card you get 5% off of your total purchase and it can be a debit or credit card. We’ve used it to buy Disney Gift Cards at a discount to pay for our Disney trips.
The Walmarts and target in every state lock up stuff lol. Definitely a huge theft problem in this country
I'm so happy to see you all enjoying your trip to America! You are a beautiful family and such sweet and nice people❤
i think Target and Walmart have many similar items but Target is much more pleasant to shop at as other have commented on and is worth the slightly higher cost. Walmart has a warehouse feel to it. Target has less food options, even in their Super stores and very small selection in big and tall clothing items (if any). It was a super center for Target you visited per their sign. FYI-Stanley work cloths (if that was what you were looking for) usually are sold at discount stores like Big Lots.
I adore you both and your family! I hope that all of America sees your videos and learn your kindness, appreciation of America, your joy of life, and your manners. Thank you and God bless you, your family, your prosperity and all your future work!
The two stores are the exact same idea, but Target is like a step up. It's a little nicer, a little "friendlier" feeling. Prices are slightly higher, sometimes a little less. Quality is usually a little better. We tend to split our shopping between the two. Depending on what we're looking for. You get good at knowing what's a better deal at which.
Stores will lock up things that they have a problem of theft with. That Target apparently isn't seeing a lot of Lego theft, whereas the Walmart was.
Love your videos and the reactions lol here in America the container coffee you thought was enormous is pretty small probably last about a week we love our coffee lol
Yes, it was a small container.
That the exact coffee I get (the Dunkin big container) and it lasts about two weeks max. 😆
I tend to like walmart better because the supercenters have more items to choose from, since targets are not as big as a supercenter. For one example, target doesn't have a full garden section like Walmart. Target will just have seeds in the spring, some bags of potting soil, a couple of outdoor furniture sets, and that's really about it.
Sam and Nadine, as always, very impressed with your family dynamic. Love you guys! Continued success with your channel. Much love from Bakersfield CA!
I haven't been in to Target in at least 2 years. They sold bacon wrapped scallops in their frozen food section thst I always liked.
The dad got so excited when he saw the HE-MAN toys.😂💗
i collected heman toys when i was a kid as well.
There were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in that section too!
That's what I collected as a kid. . .

.
And Lego!
You can package and send items through the post office to your home in NZ! The post office has free boxes (of different sizes).
Love you guys! Really enjoy following your adventures here in the USA. Yes, Target is a little bit more upscale than Wal-Mart. Enjoy your time here, we love our English speaking brothers from NZ.!!!!!
In high school I worked at T1 in Roseville Minnesota. The first Target ever! Great company to work for
These videos make me so happy. It’s so nice seeing such a cool family enjoy our weird and wild country. I’m team Target forever ❤
I had to pause the video. The part where you said the 2 specimens are in their natural habitat. Or something had me rolling haughing Oh my gosh, that was hilarious. Fun idea for your next trip. You could always buy things and mail them back. Then again, there's the cost, but food for thought.🤔 Now back to the video lol😁
When my out of town family comes. I take them to Wegmans, a very popular grocery store in NY.
The differences in merchandising decisions i.e. (locked up vs. not locked up) in big-box stores is often made by the individual product supplier, not the store itself.
I'm pretty sure it depends on the area because like the target a couple miles away has makeup 100% locked up because it's next to a high school. Where as the one by my house none is locked up. I think it depends on what items are getting stolen most in the area.
I love this family, what a joy to what their adventures.
I would like to take a moment to thank you and your family for your content.
I can't seem to get enough of your family. The content is so fresh. Wish I had found you sooner. Now a huge fan.
Target stores seem more organized but lack food items and cost more.
Deodorant was locked up so people don't just "help themselves" to the product; razors were locked up to deter the same as well as "slashers"; wine was not because for most wines, you need a glass; corkscrew; and most Americans don't like warm alcohol either
Viva is paper towels not toilet paper, and there were only 12 rolls in the package, they were just larger diameter rolls that held the equivalent of 36 rolls!
I love watching your videos I wish you all good health and happiness and prosperity always
You’re just in a “regular” Target. Wish you’d been able to visit a Super Target! Full grocery store and everything in between. Much better than Walmart in Dallas, Texas!
My impression is always that Target is just a much more pleasant shopping experience than Walmart. Also don’t know where you are on the Target visit but the “locking stuff up” is much more common in California than in other states, since Cali has a particularly huge problem with shoplifting.
I live in Pennsylvania and our Target stores don't sell any alcohol. Locking expensive products up is typical here.
Im in Ohio and it's common to see things locked up. Never saw deodorant locked up but razors yes.
Here in Virginia it’s usually the razors and headphones and other electronics especially video games locked up.
Well yeah there have always been certain things locked up - small high-value electronics, and razors in some places when they got real expensive 10 or 12 yrs ago. But in their Walmart video seemed like tons of stuff was locked down, and I’ve seen Twitter pics of basically entire stores with merch behind locked windows or cages.
Sadly true. They have a leadership problem more like, though.
The Legos in the video have the security cables around each box. The associate or cashier have to remove the device before you can leave the premises. Wal-Mart usually has the same devices for inventory over $50 in value but might have added the locked displays like they use in the electronics department just because of volume. It can be time-consuming to unpack, secure, then stock the item then have to remove the device minutes later at the register (compared to the associate unlocking and retrieving the merchandise from the case).
Just happy you enjoyed yourselves.
I love this family! Hope to meet them if I ever visit New Zealand! Hope you had a great time in the USA! ❤
Enjoying NZ families US trip, thank you for taking us along!
BTW Viva is paper towels not toilet paper lol
This is probably one of my favorite episodes. I was not expecting to see you guys stop at a Target. I'm glad you had a good time.
I work for Target but you would never find me in a store as I work in one of Target's many distribution centers.

The fact that the ladies of your life like most ladies in the world like make up isn't a surprise at all. They are plenty lovely looking nice everyday ladies already but it's always nice to change up your look sometimes. Even guys can feel more stylish and putting their best foot forward in a new set of clothes, coat, and hat. Since they are nice looking nice ladies the make up is just a little icing on the cake that makes them feel happy and special. They are having fun looking through all of the make up together is the important thing, those times spent together are special.
I love watching y'all! We prefer walmart over target, just a little cheaper and you can buy more things off of Walmart website. Also you all compared target a little to Kmart. I wish we still had a Kmart. Do yall have one in New Zealand? Hope you guys come back to the US soon, please come visit Tennessee!!
I went to a Kmart in Australia in 2014, and it was more like a Target. The Kmart stores here were everywhere, like Walmart, but they came before Walmart and Target. I believe all but one has closed.
To me, the discount store hierarchy goes: Target-Walmart-Kmart. I was surprised to see how nice the Kmart was in Sydney. I had to buy two months worth of stuff for my campervan exploration of Australia, and Kmart fulfilled most of my needs, including a cool pair of purple slip-on tennies!
(I went to New Zealand for a month after leaving Australia. 🥰)
So fun to see you guys visit a Target for the 1st time! I've never heard Target compaired to Kmart but i can kinda see how it's like an upscale Kmart maybe? It's really fun to see your perspective experiencing our everyday things. Also, in my area in the midwest we don't have things like deodorant in glass cabinets... that's only for things like expensive electronics, i guess theft is really bad there.
When I was a kid Target and Kmart were always being compared to each other. Target was the nicer one, though it still felt more like a warehouse than it does now. That was before Walmart took over the world.
Target is upscale? 😂😂
@@ladiuneeq9789 I mean compared to Walmart obviously...
@@ZalemMoon Nope. Target wishes it was Walmart.
@@ZalemMoon But Target is not upscale compared to Walmart. If you're comparing shopping carts, then yeah. Otherwise, um no!
Watching all the videos from when you were here, enjoying them all! FYI: Walmart and Target are not the same type of store, comparing them is like apples vs oranges. Items are locked up in different stores depending on the theft ratio of the products. The same items, NOT locked up in other stores, are either tagged or............ look up! There are HUNDREDS of cameras watching every step of EVERY shopper - in the ceilings, on end caps of isles, hidden on shelves, etc..! and ALL license plate numbers are recorded......all of these issues, along with higher mandated wages, contribute to the ridiculous prices these days in Southern California. I am born and raised here for over 70 years, so am used to it, but gets tougher every year!
Crazy how we take Target for granted. We usually mobile order and pickup in the parking lot, so that we don't have to go in. :) Saves money too so we don't throw impulse items in the cart. As far as things locked up it really depends on the City/State you're in and their crime and theft rates. In my state none of that stuff is locked up.
I haven't been to a Target in 5-6 years now. They don't have clothes for men and their food selection is only slightly better than a Walgreen's. Also, I have no need for cheap home decor. It seems to be great for women and baby supplies and a decent toy section.
When I was younger ( about 50 year ago) target didn't have a Grocery Dept
All stores near Disney will be heavily filled with the Magic Mouse (Target and Walmart)
I just went to a a Target with laundry soap locked, and arnica. It depends on the area/location :)
“My” Target only locks high priced/small electronics
When the dads more excited about the toy aisle them the kid💀
I work for the maker of Charmin/Bounty, as well as Gillette/Old Spice/Venus. These size of toilet paper/paper towel packs are all dependent on the store regional location. Some stores carry many different sku's and some only get a few sku's because they don't have a large enough shelf space or traffic for that particular store. Plus Walmarts & Target stores are considered Mass Stores, which is not the same as a grocery store or a pharmacy store. Then there are Club stores (Costco & Sam's club) that get totally different pack sizes that are not allowed to be sold at Mass or Grocery stores.
Then the deodorant and razors being behind locked doors. Yes it is totally a theft issue also called Loss prevention. There are also some problems with the "blades" of razors being weapons. The rationale behind what goes behind the locked glass doors are based on the location of the stores. Which I think is really silly. A tube of lipstick is $9, a tube of deodorant is $6, they don't put the lipstick behind glass doors. Lipstick is smaller and can be put in a purse easier than a tube of deodorant.
Your comment about K-Mart is a good one. I view them as this. . .Walmart is definitely all about the price. Their clothing styles are really lower end, basics. While Target is a bit more expensive than Walmart, but much more trendy with the styles. Here in the Oregon area there are only a few Targets that have full on grocery sections. Most have just a small area of select sku's. They are more about the soft goods. While Walmarts are all about the groceries, and only the Super Stores have the large selection of soft goods.
Target always seems cleaner and more organized than Walmart. Walmart reminds me of a factory feel. When I was a teen we called Kmart Came-apart because things usually didn't last long. The Kmart in New Zealand must be better.
i've heard that kmart over there is way different than ours ever was.
I love watching your reaction videos and adventures! You are such a sweet family. 🙂God bless all of you!
So happy to see you all enjoying the official store of "my people!" Lol ❤ Target ❤ You four!!!
Target is the replacement for Hudsons , the former super spiffy high end retailer. At the time I only knew the Detroit area and the largest store I knew of was a four story Hudsons in downtown detroit. Extra spiffy and known for àlways having the biggest American flag that I ever heard of. 2 1/2 stories tall at least. Attached to the bldg and always had the lights on so it could be out 24hrs a day.
When you said "You Americans know how to do cheese", pretty much every European died a little inside.
as did this New Zealander who has lived in the US before! American cheese for the masses is really awful
@@lindascott6902Yeah, but in most places you can also find high quality / specialty cheeses… you just don’t go to big-box notional chain stores for it… lol
Why we borrowed every cheese from around the world and shared it with our neighbors and now we have 100 different cheeses to choose from and when you visit you can find the cheese you're used to at home or be brave and try one you never tasted.
Americans have no idea how to do bread or cheese. Highly processed junk in the States.
@@lindascott6902 That's true for what we call "American cheese", which is just cheap and tastes like it. It's also not real cheese, honestly (and we Americans all know that). It's just cheap & melts easily which is why lots of Americans use it. That said, I don't know when exactly you lived in the US but, charcuterie boards have become such a trend, that there are so many international cheeses being sold in the US right now!! I'm sure some of them don't travel as well as others but, variety is not really a problem.
On the opposite side of that, I'm an American currently living in the UK and I have had a difficult time finding cheeses that will work for some of my family's Fresh Mex recipes! Actual American cheeses like Monterey Jack, Colby, or Pepper Jack and Mexican cheeses like Queso Oaxaca tend to work the best and they are not common in the UK at all. (That said, I did finally manage to track down Monterey Jack at Whole Foods, it's just pricey). So, yeah, no place is perfect and no country has everything that everybody wants for every recipe.
Yeah. Target is often referred to as "The fancy wal-mart". There's also a bit of a gag we do here where we pronounce it TAR-jhey to make it sound fancy 🤣🤣
Love the guys, "where are the girls, ooo toys!" Haha, the whole thing is fun :)
It's amazingly good fortune that you were in California during the hurricane. I've never seen it. Look so clean at Target. Parking lot is just amazingly clean.
Walmart is our go-to for supplies of almost any kind. Target is more of a trendy place. A little bit more upscale on the clothing and home goods. We don't have Kmart anymore, but we used to. It kind of went downhill and became a little slumish.
I love to watch you explore as a family. You are all so good to each other.
I think the biggest packs of "toilet paper" rolls were actually PAPER TOWELS both at Wal-Mart and Target 😜
Love you guys! xoxo
@pigs18 Haha for sure, Costco is where we get ours
Anything is toilet paper if you're brave enough.
@@REALfish1552Learned that during covid 😂
@@REALfish1552 Not poison sumac lmfao
Our local Super Target has a lot of Disney stuff, our regular (smaller) one, not so much. Target has a more limited grocery selection but has more upscale items.
BTW, the empty shelves are still the after effect of the pandemic. Pre-pandemic, every shelf in pretty much all stores was filled full all the time. Yes, that Target has a lot of Disney because of the area. In the pacific northwest, we don't have that. Would have loved to see you visit a Dollar Store just for fun. 😄
I'm in Minnesota lots of Disney. I think it depends on store.
And last year there was a trucking shortage for most of the year and the last half of 2022 ships had trouble getting into the main sea ports.
Walmart, target etc has clothing and types of products according to the area you in.
"More stylized than WALMART" TARGET is so much cleaner, brighter, friendly day and night difference...but you do pay a few cents more per item
Very fun shopping....
Love your videos, and I'm glad you finally got to visit the states. I certainly won't fault you for visiting the more tourist-type towns, but I would definitely recommend another trip where you visit places like the midwest to get a better feel for "average America".
I definitely recognize this target! It does have a larger Disney section because it’s near the park however most Target stores have a large Disney toy section, less branded clothes.
Great videos..makes me appreciate growing up on the San Francisco coast...an not take things we access for granted..❤
Just a thought on your next trip...I personally would like to see you experience more outside the realm of fast food and department stores. We've all shopped and eaten the same things you do. When in America we want to see you ride a horse with a cowboy, go fly fishing, go to the top of the Empire State Building, rent a large American truck, visit Yellowstone National Park, etc. Now that would be fun.
I love shopping in Target. I have had to scale back my Target hauls though, for various reasons.
If you ever get to the Midwest, you could check out Meijer.
Walmart doesn't have the Lego sets behind a glass case, certain ones do have spider tags on them though(the the round black security tags that wrap around the packaging). Electronics(laptops, videogames/consoles, etc.) are the only things Walmart keeps behind a glass case, well and the firearms(if they're one that carries those). This is just where I live though, it probably depends on what gets stolen the most in different areas.
Great video guys. You're always fun to watch 👏
Im glad you enjoyed Target the one by me in Illinois just added groceries about 5 years ago before that it was more of a department store
I feel like every Target puts stuff like that at the front. They know that tourists will see it and be like “OMG, that’s so cute”. Locals won’t even realize it’s there. It’s just obstacle to get to what they’re looking for.
Disney World in Florida celebrated 50 years this year. Large Walmarts and Targets in the Orlando area sell Disney stuff.
Glad you enjoyed, we love a good trip to Target!
In the early part of the vid you could see a bunch of merch on the floor around the store. I see that a lot more in Target than in Walmart. Walmart is my first choice for a tidy shopping experience.
Target does not normally have so much Disney stuff 😂. Must be because you’re near Disney!
Many Targets now have a Disney Store section after their stores closed!
All the ones I’ve been to in Illinois and Missouri do not have specific Disney sections or anything.
Target is like an upscale Walmart. Target sells adorable home goods and clothes and accessories, more so than Walmart.
I loved the "Ladies in their natural habitat!"😂😂😂 always excited to see your families reaction to American stores. I don't know what I'd do without all the selections we have. I guess I didn't realize how different our country is as far as that.
Love Sam’s face when he saw the Masters of the Universe toys!! lol that was my same reaction when I saw them in target too!! My brain immediately when down memory ane
You are a wealthy man. Not because of finances, but because of a beautiful family.
Targets in general tend to be cleaner and a bit more well stocked as opposed to Walmart (the Walmarts in CA are more on the dirty side). Nice that you got to enjoy Target for the first time and have fun at the same time.
Retail theft has become a big problem in the US. That is why stores have started locking up everything that is easy to steal.
To be fair it depends on your area.
It's especially a Commieforeignia problem, and for other Woke/Democrat areas, especially their big cities. Crime is legal there.
Yeah come to NYC there's loads more locked up. They r stealing everything here they can't fill half your orders.
I heard Target might close some in hard hit areas.
I like my area.......county of approx. 225k people, very low crime, can still pump then pay inside at gas stations......definitely depends on your area!
The target I work for in Arkansas does not lock up items like what was shown here but then again Arkansas does prosecute shoplifting. While California has stopped leaving the stores to take their own measures.
Precisely correct! You get what you vote for! Red states rule!
The TP package said 12=36. Meaning 12 large rolls = 36 sml rolls. So, 12 rolls in that pack, not 36. They’re all like that.
I was just watching your Thanksgiving live stream and I’m super impressed with Atlanta’s skills & command in the kitchen. A lot of young people are not taught to cook these days. I loved cooking with my Nanny growing up and I still do. It’s a very important life skill. When I see your video intro, I feel like I’d love to escape to New Zealand for a while as much as y’all wanted to come to US.
Target vs Walmart: One of the only times where I'm Team Red.
I cannot believe that you were right down the street from me and I didn't even know you were in Anaheim! I totally would have met you at Disneyland and shown you how the Annual Passholders do the park!!!
We go to Target at least twice weekly. Watching your excitement makes me realize how much we take it for granted. Too bad Starbucks was closed. That’s usually our first stop before shopping. Love your videos. Merry Christmas and safe travels.
How fun! I love to see the surprise and shock on all your faces! So much love from Eastern Washington State :). GO SEAHAWKS!
Nice to see Denzi cart surfing in the store again - compared to WalMart - little bit of a let down? In terms of mass merchandise - WalMart wins - but Target has a bit of an edge in certain areas like clothing and home decor. I'm enjoying your trip to the U.S. - thanks for posting this one.
That's my target, down the street from Disney on harbor 😯. That target is close to Disney so that's the reason why you see more Disney souvenir.
