Fresh off a successful mission on the notorious Mercenary Star, Mason and crew journey to the Hardcore system where they collide with 'Mech pilot Duncan Fisher embarking on a quest to secure a spot in the FedCom Unification Tournament. Forming an unlikely alliance, Mason and Fisher traverse the shadows of Solaris, engage in harrowing 'Mech duels, and race against the clock to save the day - a true Solaris Showdown.
Join Duncan Fisher in a race against time to thwart the overthrow of the Solaris Council, discover the new Loader King 'Mech, select new weapons and equipment tailored for close-quarter engagements, and help save the very future of Solaris.
The gameplay of Mechwarrior 5 is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story. I will review the weapon systems, battlemechs, show you how to build the loadouts and train your pilots and take a look at all the different mission types and upgrades of the MW5 Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC.

im glad they managed to get george ledoux to voice duncan again
"Are you not entertained!" Love it
The Yamls have been updated for the DLC6 along with most of the mods you were using on your last playthrough
100% here for how excited Bara was getting meleeing in the arena
So, the recipe for actual fun in this DLC:
Take 3-4 Rapid Fires
Power walk at enemies
Do not stop pushing fire button
Scream
Win.
Amaising
or 2+ ppc-X or srm streams and do the same
also back armor is not needed keeping it at like 5 for lights and mediums and 7-8 for heavies and assaults (bit mor on the king crab (due to insanly wide hitboxes for the torsos and ct)
@@Specter-wt1wt pretty baby + SrM6 + 3xPPC-X [or 2 if you dont mod the game, change very little in any case with those guns ^^] = steamroll ANYTHING even if all the enemy focus on you alone
I put 4 PPC-X's and nothing else but heat sinks on the annihilator Duncan gives you. Thing fires broadsides like a ship of the line.
@@stevensavage9491 ho yes that too... but anny isso damn slow! PB run at 90km\h with a 340 core
@@stevensavage9491 had the mediums mostly for taking legs and arms for more fame since the ppc-x tend to blind tou to anything and they aint exactly åinpoint weapons but more likequad barrel sawed of shotgun .(also for headshots lin the lategame when i have 40+ salvage picks) stil runs cool enough
To do list:
* Use Loaderking - DONE
* Rebuild King Crab - DONE
Man that was fun! I think the commentary really saves it, because you can see a number of AI issues during the fights.
The kick on those rifles was amazing! The Loaderking was worth waiting for.
So this is the DLC where you actually have money, Bara. 😄
Just FYI, all your spare double heat sinks disappeared into the Stalker when you hit repair all to replace the ones that got destroyed in it
There’s a lot that could be improved in this DLC;
1) Map of Solaris city and locations. (From then TTRPG box set) plus The Reaches
2) Joining a stable
3) an actual tournament fixture, with a ladder, and a finals series.
4) Von Biomes maps (which look way better than PGI’s)
5) visiting arms dealers, salvage yards, famous bars, brokers, criminals, sponsors
6) 1v1 matches
7) betting on matches
There are some 1v1, so there's that I guess.
A few quick things Bara:
1. If you have a dakka boat (like the cataphract) you can throw the Ac-RF on a chain fire group to help control the recoil climb. This is especially fun with a macro to speed up clicks.
2. If you continue doing the arena missions, be sure to check the mission screen to see "what the crowd wants to see". This will help you decide what metal to put on the field.
3. There is a map with "caves" in the name (I forget the full name at the moment). Be careful in those caves. I've gotten a king crab stuck twice in there.
The urbie was a true mini boss.
Wicked Firestartah
Thankfully there is coop-mod, makes the arena stuff more fun.
What about Coyotes, Biomes, TTrulezAI, and Pilot Overhaul?
After I got it, the new Corsair has become my favorite big mech to use in just about everything. However, it is brutal in the Solaris missions as long as you keep an eye on your ammo for auto-cannons.
For the first time, I had a "WTF" moment with that Urban Mech. As well armored as those things are for light mechs, armed with that PPC and going like Usian Bolt....that was memorable!
the dlc brings lots of cool stuff, but the ai and some crash bugs on certain missions makes it not so good sadly.
still would love to se a full co-op campaign starting in 3015, and playing through both the campaign and all the dlc`s with a crew of the same players.
on the ani and arena missions in general i have some thought:
so the ani with ppc-x end mediums oneshots anything at short range (tier 5 loadout, so assaults might take 2 hits if you have lower tier weapons) and it has sustain because the heat buildup is not that high (the benefit of a small engine on a 100 tonner i guess is that even fully armored and equipped with 4 ppc-x it still has plenty tonnage left for cooling)
it is by far the greatest mech for short range free for alls (since you kill everything in short order)
also in arena fights (until they fix the ai ganging up on you) the best tactic is to wait it out until they down 4-5 mechs befor you start engaging, also to mitigate repair cost and the risk of loosing mechs and pilots, solo everything (ai is so bad you are just better of not taking them on those missions)
keep up the awesome work you do.
this is specter signing off
I want this DLC so bad, I have everything else but this looks like it gives so much more than the others did!
I'm still trying to hunt down one of those Urbies and one of those Orions. Playing arena missions like a madman while traveling through the Inner Sphere. It's so much fun
there are arena contracts in the industrial hubs as well.
TBH, the only think preventing this DLC from being a total failure is Duncan :)
FYI Baradul if your running a mission that is supposed to be a Medium Lance 200 tons 4v4 and bring a heavy it actually flags the mission as over tonnage and brings in heavy hitting VTOLS to soften you up as well Not that they last long or really soften you up that much but it is a thing.
I started new career (Davion). No missions on Solaris VII so far but there are arena missions in industrial hubs. I think that Solaris VII will be unlocked when I reach starting year of DLC.
Don't feel bad, i had the same bug too.
RIP is Rest-in-Peace
I think my best medium mech is the Crab with two PPC-X's. So fun
Seems like those lower difficulty arena missions should put more limits on mech tonnage. Taking 400 tons against 4 lights/Mediums doesn't seem like a good design.
They do, but only for the only ones listed by weight bracket. But when it says "light 4v4" the tonnage limit is 100, and when it says "light free for all" the tonnage limit is 25, etc. So some events have weight limits, some don't.
Dude, if you haven't already, you have to try out a King Crab Carapace with 4 tier 5 Heavy Rifles and either a LRM 15 or LRM 10 and 5. SRMs are good too, but I like the long range assault and peppering. Anyway, I equip mine with 6 racks of rifle ammo, 4 in the legs and 4 in the arms. I know, not ideal, but I usually use it in defense missions and never really been at risk of losing an arm. Ton and a half of LRM ammo in the center torso. This allows me to put 2 double heatsinks in each torso section, and one single in the head to fill out the tonnage. For upgrades I have ballistic damage +10% and +5%, -5% and -2.5% ballistic heat, -5% heat generation, and -5% ballistic cooldown time. This thing is a hell of a sniper. Each shot does 26.91 points of damage. It rips off limbs off limbs, and can easily headshot when firing 2 rounds at the same time. I have 2 rifles assigned to one button and the other 2 to another in chain fire. So I can choose to fire one or two at a time. It's so much fun.
Oh and RIP stands for Rest in Peace
This was an 11 !!!! GREAT !!!😊
I bought a Pretty Baby and slapped 3 Tier 3 PPC-X's in it. . . OMG is it fun, and blinding. lol
I'm not sure what to think of the AC RF weapons. I popped an AC 20 RF tier 3 and required 10 or so shots to core a half- dead Trebuchet. Also the sound is messed up, you don't hear any feedback if you're hitting or not. PPC-X on the other hand is straight up broken, trumping literally everything else. It's hilarious to use, but broken nonetheless. Oh and for the tiny gates in the arena going into your mechs one by one and walking them out solves the issue of AI being stupid.
EDIT: enemy placement is buggy. I've had mechs spawning in weird places and being completely dormant, having found no enemies, or being stuck.
Difficulty 20 is vs light and medium mechs. I think that PGI should adjust tonnage based on difficulty. 100 tons for all difficulties does not feel right.
@igorbukovy4313 the difficulty is tied to his Fame, not weight class.
@@mptesteroni Okay but it still does not feel right piloting an assault mech vs light and medium mechs, they do not stand a chance in PvE.
Nimm den Vernichter, pack 4 PPC-X rein, alles an Doppelwärmetauschern, meinetwegen noch 4 mittlere Laser = Killswitch auf unter 300m
Gladiator fun - are you not entertained..??
oh and yes, technically you can bring in a heavier mech into the light/mid etc arena fights but it penalizes you and they send in vtols to attack you
Right and they never were a real threat. I think PGI need to implement more serious penalty. Maybe bigger wave of VTOLs to really punish the player for breaking the rule.
I've had a lot of the solaris type mission have that happen where all the enemies don't spawn so you cant finish the mission
YAML is up and working again has been for a bit now.
😎
Bara not going for 100% salvage? Something is wrong!
a light mech lance duel, so i bring the steiner light mech... the atlas.
RIP = Rest In Peace
Rating !
I've played a couple hundred of these arena missions and only had one bug out on enemy spawns
I bet this mod would be awesome with YAML and the open mechbay
MOAR REKT MECHS!
I've also had it where the kill count tracker wasn't working and I wipes everyone and it said their was still over half the enemies left to kill
Urbie with a shotgun. lol
I guess salvage rights is working with your sponsor to do a fight for pinks with the losers should you win a match
no patch, the actual arena fight work well but not the mission that happen in the arena
You dont have to do the missions on solaris. if you go to higher danger zones they go up in difficulty. if you bring heavies or assults into a medium mission there will be a penalty
Finally lol
I guess ps4 is bugged, i dont have these extra maps on solaris. Or it's a thing where one of my saves was too advanced to do the quest...I'll use another playthrough to check.
edit: must have just been a bug with that save.
You haven't checked the news section 🤔
Well this DLC seems content wise to have more then most. New weapons and the like… I reay question why the hell Rocket launchers are not one of the weapons!!! Along with the many Marien Hegemony Rocket variants.
Instead of single rocket launchers they are packs of rocket launchers like a rocket launcher 10x4, or 20x2 and some singles for the H variants so since they would then have insane mounting of small slots.
Also speaking of rocket launchers what about the other notorious solaris weapon the Thunderbolt missile, one use big missile.
Now if you cant visit the arena till this time period its a god awful DLC.
I also question the balence of Rapid Fire varients just outclassing Ultras as that would also look bad. Oh yeah watching it it looks way op, and im sure there isn’t a weight cost…
I guess mechs spawning underground is still a thing after all this time making missions impossible to finish... great...
Solaris VII DLC AND THEY COULD NOT BE ARSED TO MAKE THE ARENAS CORRECT!
I hope VonSeiten can mod his mod to make it so that you can play in HIS MAPS in this.
cant stress enough that Rapid fire A/C kinda ruins the game for me :S its just spamming with ammo and win.... no thank you i wont use them
Sadly, this DLC just doesn't hold a candle to MW4Mercs Solaris. Theres so much they missed here, like the vibe of the arena. No crowds cheering, point blank brawls at almost all times, AI that still prioritizes you. Big miss in my book.
am i the only one that doesnt like or use srms?
