    I could not figure out how to get my pump to work. After watching your video I saw the tubes were hooked up wrong. Their directions really SUCK! I connected the tubes the way the picture looked and it was wrong. Thanks for your help. Was thinking the pump was broke.

    My pool came with tubes but no T's and NO instructions. It's been fun trying to put the thing together and attach our bigger, sand filter instead of that crappy little filter that came with the pool.

      That’s a bummer that yours didn’t come with all the parts. I hope you were able to get them without much trouble. Yes. The small filter was a lot of maintenance that first year, but we upgraded last season and it was wonderful.

    Stupid question. How do you setup the system to run after the hoses are attached? Other than just plugging it in obviously lol. Like the correct way to remove air from the system because ours just won’t push any water besides a small bit from side A.

  • @OcarinaOfRachel
    @OcarinaOfRachel 2 роки тому +1

    This might be a dumb question but where does the o ring go in the filter

    • @HurricaneHomestead
      @HurricaneHomestead  2 роки тому

      There are a couple of O rings that go where the hose attaches to the base of the filter. And there’s a larger O ring that goes around the top lid. Pretty much anywhere something attaches or connects to the filter should have some sort of rubber gasket to keep the water from leaking out.

    Just a helpful tip. Get a pump twice that size.
    I have one that creates a current inside the pool 🤣🤣. I probably use 65% less chemicals and the water stays perfect.
    If I loosen the hose, the jet of water shoots straight to the other side like a fire hose. I think my pump is rated for a 25,000 gallon pool and the pool holds about 6,500 gallons.

    • @Champ0204
      @Champ0204 3 роки тому

      I have this same pump in the video and it’s terrible. To circulate 10k gallons you need to run this pump for 4 hours but the cartridge get dirty and deceased the pressure from the outlet! Causing you to run longer and to waste time cleaning filters. This pump in the video the filter is for a 500 gallon pool. I need a sand filter but they are just too expensive and hard to find a used one

    Does the original pump have to stay running at all times? How can I turn the pump off without getting water everywhere

    • @HurricaneHomestead
      @HurricaneHomestead  4 роки тому

      kim johnson the pump does not have to run all the time. We usually only run it after we put in chemicals to circulate the water and when we are using it. We will sometimes run the pump for a couple day’s off and on if it was used heavily. We do not have any issues with the pump leaking when it is turned off. Make sure all your connections are tight and the air release valves are tightened properly.

    • @GlassTableGirl
      @GlassTableGirl 4 роки тому

      So when you clean the filter cartridge and when you ultimately replace them, you’re going to want to turn off the filter and use the plugs in your two “B ports” after pulling out the gray parts in the pool. If you don’t plug this before opening the filter it’ll shoot water out. The gray piece is for attaching a garden hose at the bottom in the event you want to drain the pool and store it

    Do you know where the 2 black plugs and 1 extra gray connection goes?

    • @HurricaneHomestead
      @HurricaneHomestead  4 роки тому +3

      I believe the black plugs are used for when you need to change the filter. They will plug the B hose from in the pool to keep water from filling the pump. The other gray connection looks like it’s used to connect to the drain plug to a garden hose for draining the pool. But it might be something you can connect to the output jet for use with a vacuum or something.
