Thank you for the little tip about the water hose hook up for draining! When In doubt find someone on UA-cam!! Your a life and time saver
I put three water hoses in to drain the pool, and used them to suck out the water, they got all the way down to the last one inch. Also i put them in different areas of the pool to catch the lowest lying areas. My biggest problem was the pump - two burned up.. :(
Thanks for the vid... I recommend when you set it up to put a little talcum power on the poles before sliding them in & that would have kept them from sticking... A good little tip when setting up to make easier disassembling...
My family and I have had very good summer with this pool and I'm totally happy and satisfied with this purchase! I'm glad I purchased this pool back in late April paid about 400$ for it but with covid-19 hitting hard and the beaches were closed these pools started selling for upwards of 1500$! WOW 🤯🤯
Same. I got it at Walmart for $400, then noticed online they were well over $1,000. Couldn’t believe that.
We did the same thing! We ordered ours in April as well! We had such an amazing summer with our pool too! 🙌🏻
Same here got pool in April $400. We winterized pool. Where can I get a winter pillow for next year. Also good instructions for leaving pool up n winterize pool
I paid 1500 for mine!!!!!
Same as Chris - we paid $1500 for ours also 🙁. But we love our pool.
I used a little water pump to pump it out. I also used towels to soak up the water. This takes a while, but it's really the only way I could come up with. I also used a blower to drive all the water to one area.
I used a tiny fish tank pump!
Shop Vac😉
Thank you for the great videos! Can you please provide a link for the container you used to store it? I didn’t see that listed. Thank you again!
Just leave it half full of water, winterize it, put a winter pillow in center and cover. No problem. In spring fill it rest way up and add chemicals. Real easy, less work. I've done this the past 4yrs.
Brian - where are you located?
I live in the Midwest..Not sure how safe it would be gets pretty cold
I’ve left my intex metal frame up through 4 winters so far and no issues with the pool. In New Jersey
What winter chemicals u use
We live in upper MI and have left ours up 4 winters. No problems at all.
Did you just winterize it and it was ok?? I live in NY and I don't know if its better to leave it up or take it down
Did you drain the water down??? If so, was it below the windows?
I live in central Michigan, can I leave mine up if I drain down past windows?
Joe Basista I’m wondering about the windows cracking too....
Thanks for the video. I used the draining trick you showed here. I also had the issue with the horizontal bars sticking. I purchased an extra long shoe horn from Menards and used that to separate the liner from the bar. Worked great. Knocked it out in less than 10min
Thank you so much for all your videos, you have helped us tremendously over the summer setting up our pool and all the cool add ons.
Thanks for the note!
Same
I’d be interested to hear how it went when you went to put it back up next year and how long the pool is lasting, if you’re still able to use it. Thanks for the info!
Thank you for the storage info,I have the same pool without the windows and I'm about to drain my pool and store it for the winter your videos have been a ton of help! I have to get that storage bin a must have!!
Hello, can anybody tell me how big the storage bin is? I want to make sure I get one that's big enough
What storage container is this and size please? Thank you
We just took our pool down for the season and our horizontal poles were stuck too. We slipped a wooden yardstick between the pole and the liner and moved it around the pole gently to break the seal. It worked beautifully with no damage. We took all the poles out in about 15 minutes. Hope this helps ; )
Outside thinker! Great comment! That is an awesome idea!
We did the same thing this evening!
You know we have left our first pool up and winterized each winter. It lasted us 7yrs. We only got a new one because we wanted a 22ft.
To get the other straight sections off, try air hose. Shoot air on one end, it works great for bike hand grips maybe it would work here
That's a really good idea
What size is that pool? We have a 22×52 . Hoping we can roll it down to the Size you got yours. Thank you!!
Thanks for the video. I’ve watched several because this is the first year of taking my Coleman down. I did see on another video that a guy ran a metal rod between the liner and the metal post to release them from eachother?? I don’t know that I would try that but it worked for him lol.
Thanks again for the info it’s been very helpful to me.
I used a broom handle to release the upper support bar's. I also dug a hole to allow the water to drain. I seen other's say they leave theirs up all winter my first pool I did to. Then last year my pool burst open from extreme cold and I live in Pennsylvania. So for me I will take mine down from now on.
🤯 Wow Im in the Midwest and our winters can be brutal! I thought about leaving our pool up through the winter as well but it's just to much damage it would cause if the pool is damaged from freezing through the winter
@@ericd.4253 Agreed another five hundred out of pocket would suck. Easier to pay 100 to fire company to fill it.
@@paulr8308 I used my regular water hose to fill the pool! I've seen and have read some horror stories about people using a fire hydrant or water trucks to fill up their pools
Lol I'm not looking forward to the unbuild tho...
@@ericd.4253 It's not bad I have a bad heart and was able to do it.
Thanks!!! I’m so starting this project in a few.
I use a spray bottle with soapy water to remove the stuck poles. Awesome video, subscribed
Please provide more info on the storage box. A link would be awesome! I have this same pool
niat602 I bought a Rubbermaid at Home Depot.
@@joycegurule8345 thank you!!!
Joyce Gurule what size bin did you get?
@@jillmontgomery1429 2 -55 gallons. 1 i put the pool in and the other i turned down on top of it and taped it
Those pieces come out very easy.. Start with the air pocket on the bottom and roll it around the pipe, the air pocket. Will break it loose
Came looking for a box because I’ve been using a large rolling trash can so I can easily move it. I use a submersible sump pump to drain it down to about 2 inches. Takes about 2 hours to drain. I drain it as far as I can on a Friday night then I’m able to get the rest of the water on a Saturday morning and have the pool packed away by 5 PM. Been doing that for about 6 years.
Sounds like a plan
Thank you for sharing! I think I’m gonna steal your trash can idea!!
I do the same.. finish off with shop vac and towel baking soda, but will try baby powder this time. Does it go inside or outside of pool? GOD BLESS
How big is that tote? I have a 22 X 52 will those legs fit in that tote?
Is there a way to get a replacement drain adapter? We might be moving soon & I can’t find mine to drain our pool
Did you ever find it?
We are going to drain the pool but hearing that it will mess they liner up we actually will allow a couple inches to stay in then dig under the one side to adjust the pool to be even
Thanks for the Vid! it really helped me in disassembly!
Great idea using the storage container. Thanks for sharing!
it will need to be at least 260 gallons. Anything else will be too small. thanks for the comment!
Do you drain pump or how exactly how do you break the pump down and step by step?
do you know the part # for the drain plug ? i lost mine
I left my pool open all winter and the bottom is very nasty 🤢. Do you have any recommendations on what cleaners and brush to clean it with ????
Thank you !!!!!
Do you know what the specific part is that you connected to the drain on the pool?
Great video! If you’re doing it again this year, could you make a video of how you folded it?
Have a good fall and holidays my brother. Thanks for the tips
same to you - thanks for subscribing!
what device are you using to drain the water?
I used a broom handle and rolled around the pipe that get stuck to the vinyl sleeves.
Can you please post what size and type of storage bin you used? Looking for one to fit it all like you have but not sure on the size.
he said 260 gallon i think
can you give us the link to the piece that came with the drain
did you ever find where you can order that drain adapter?
I am considering leaving up during winter but am a little worried about the windows breaking
Eric Huhn what area of the country are you in. I’m I. The southwest. Lmk how that turns out for you next season. I’m pulling mine down to be safe. I wanna use it as long as possible and don’t have the funds to replace it if it doesn’t work out
Great video thanks. Can you provide with the store dimensions to have an idea? 💡 thanks
First year with this pool, and we absolutely love it. Can you leave this pool up in upstate NY, if i really winterize it. I am just worried about the windows
live in Ohio i haven't taken it down 2 years this will be my 3rd , i used liquid nails on the windows when i 1st bought it still holding up thankfully , im sure you will be ok if you dont take it down im no pool expert so please dont take my advice just saying i havent taken mines down
Do you put the piece that goes on the hose on the outside part of the pool while there’s water in the pool. I need to drain my pool but we are trying to figure out how to get the piece on to drain it that came with the pool.
How did you end up draining the rest of the water? I can’t quite tell what you’re using? A vacuum? A pump? Thanks
its a pond pump
Pondiver thank you. We just got this same pool a few weeks ago and the pump that came with it sucks or we didn’t chlorinate enough because we had a tadpole infestation 🤦🏻♀️ your videos are helping us a lot so I appreciate it 😀
Was hoping to watch you fold it. Confirming that you turned it upside down and folded it inward? Also What do you do with your empty pool spot? Thanks for all the great videos!
I half moon fold. Repeat several times. Over the empty pool area, I cover with a light coat of straw.
Why not leave it up and close it for winter? We’ve never taken ours down.
Why are you taking it down drain it below the output and cover it and disconnect all the hoses. You don’t have to take it down every year. I’ve had mine for years and left it up every winter and it’s fine.
I watched the full video but I don't recall what size he said his pool was. What size gallon container is it stored in?
235 gallon
I have this pool and can't find the part to drain it. Can anyone please help me with a photo of what it looks like or possibly where to order a new one?
Try Bestway Global. Com
Where did you get the 260 gal box to store it?
What type of vacuum is that?
What did you do with sand in the sand filter? Did you vacuum it out and discard it or store it away for resuse?
Since its cheap, I spread it out in low areas in my yard. Buy new sand each spring.
With the liner sticking, I found that a 1/2 inch pvc pipe about 5 or 6ft in length did the trick. Place the pipe all the way through from the bottom. With one hand start turning the pipe in an upwards direction while at the other end your other hand squeezes the pipe using your fingers in the same direction. The pipe just slides easily as you turn it and the liner gets unstuck fast.
We just took our pool down and I remembered your comment, ran in and grabbed a pvc pipe. Got them all unstuck in no time! Thanks for the tip!
Would you be able to post a pic of the hose adapter. I seem to have lost mine and need to find a replacement
i have the same problem let me know if you find it online plz
How do you get the pins out of the side bars?! 🤔
I tapped the pins very gently with a small hammer. Each pin pushed up and I was able to pull them out from the top. Maybe this method will work for you. Didn't take long and the taps did not damage any of the pins.
If you stick your fingers in the horizontal bars, twist and pull those bars will come out took me 20 mins to get em all out
Maybe using a silicone spray would work on the poles before putting them in...
Where did you find your deck box that is a 260 gallon?
they have them at sams club. if you can find them on google shopping too. they arent cheap
Can you advise where you got the 260 gallon container or who makes it ..... Thanks
Where did you purchase container? is the container 260 gallon or 260 Liters? How much?
What is the insert to drain the pool
I usually just drain mine then fill with sand for the winter then in the summer i poke holes in the sides to drain the sand then patch the holes and fill with water. Just make sure you stock up on pool patches.
😂
What kind of pump do you use for your pool?
How many gallons is your deck storage
Any thoughts on the type of container to prevent mold?
How much did the storage cost and what size it. I have the exact pool and like the storage
It's a Keter. I'm not sure the size. I think it's on my Amazon store. I'll check, if not, I'll put it on there.
Real Life Reviews any update on the size of the storage container?
Hi again.. i purchased and installed the sand filter on my pool today thanks to you. I know I have a while before I need to worry about this but how did you winterize the sand filter to store over winter? I would assume the wet sand wouldn’t be good to allow to freeze.
Since the sand is reasonably priced, I just spread it out in low spots in the yard and buy again in the spring. I dry out the filter and separate all components. Then, I place in a container.
Pondiver totally makes sense... still no window leaks?? I have the Hayward filter sitting in a box at my house. I’m super nervous to hook that up. Especially because I have no idea which hose goes to it. The ones attached to the intake ports on the pool seem way too low to be replaced by the Hayward... eeekkk...
@@tracic5967 the Hayward hooks directly to the pump. You close off the two small suction ports either with stoppers or with a butt connector.
@@tracic5967 no window leaks.
Pondiver awesome... I think I can do this!!! Lol
What size is this pool?
Good video. Thank you for sharing. New subscriber here.
I know he used a 260 gal box, but I'm wondering what size you need for just the liner?
165 gallon would do the trick.
Where did you get a lazy river pump? I can't find one online?
So, it's just a pond pump. I've made a few changes to my pool mods since this posting, but I'll add that pump to my Amazon catalog page.
I have searched and can’t find a Keter 260 gallon outdoor storage bin. Do you have the link

How do you get the screws out?
What were the tools you used?
Thanks for the video!! Do you know if I’m able to order the part that came with the pool, which connects to the hose to empty it?
Yes. You can get it from Bestway Global-search parts.
Do you know the official name of that part?
I'll need to look. Let me get to the office and I'll check it out for you.
Real Life Reviews hi, were you able to find out the official name for the adapter? I’m trying to drain mine for the winter as well, and can’t seem to locate the item!
Can you leave this pool with windows up for the winter? If so do I lower the water level beneath the windows or leave it above them?
I never have.
@@Pondiver the liner won’t shrink if I drain it? That’s what I’m scared of
@@lashaundavis5447 No, it won't shrink. Once dry, fold the pool and put in storage. I added a tad bit of baby powder on the inside to keep it from sticking to itself. Very little used, it goes a long way when spreading.
@@LivingBreadHomestead thank you!

Thank u for this video! Question. How do u get that last inch or two of water out of the pool after draining it ?
We use a sump pump and then a shop vac and towels to finish the last bit of water.

Shop vac works great.

I’m having a hard time finding a replacement drainer attachment. Do you have any ideas where I can find one for this type of pool?
What do you mean by replacement drainer?
The attachment that hooks to the pool to keep the drain open. I saw in your video you had one that came with your pool. I don’t remember getting one with mine or I’ve possibly lost it.
Yes that is what I need to! We are trying to get ready for the warm weather but I can’t even drain my pool to do anything to it.

Where can I get a replacement connector that connects from the pool to the hose? My wife threw the other one away and I need a replacement. Any ideas? Thanks
Please explain a little better. I can generally get the parts
There is an adapter that gets screwed on the pool which depresses the plunger. It’s also threaded so I can hook the hose up to it since the fitting on the pool is larger that a normal hose fitting. I need that piece.

@@Pondiver I had an Intex automatic cleaner when I had a Summer Wave 16x48 above ground pool. I had to change the return to the Intex return but that wasn't hard. The Intex automatic cleaner is a good cleaner. The only problem I had with it was it wanted to do a wheely. So I just turned down the flow of the water and that took care of the wheelies. I now have a 24ftx52in and it cost too much to be cutting on. I do miss the Intex cleaner but I have a good cleaner now that cleans great also.

You mean the ladder? If yes, U did at first, but found out that they are mostly all the same, so zi decided not to. Have you?
how hard would it be to just leave it up for the winter?
Easier than tearing it down, but it cost more in chems and it's very risky. Frozen water and vinyl do not mix well.
