Saw them tour Heaven and Hell for the first time, We all HATED DIO for taking Ozzy's place. Then we saw the concert and knew it was the right move. We were all pissed going in and he had to win us over and he did. You don't mess with Black Sabbath and Dio is maybe the only one who have carried them to a new chapter and bring us along.
Not me, being a big Rainbow fan I was excited to hear Ronnie, this album & tour. I must admit I was sorry to see Ozzy leave but the last album NSDie was kinda bland...then Ozzy's Blizzard of Ozz gave us Randy & those great albums with Randy....that's my take on the Ozzy/Ronnie Sabbath story
I'll start getting saying that Ozzy's voice is one of the fundaments that made Black Sabbath be. But Dio's voice is something else. He's the best singer in my book and also a good man who cared about every one of his fans. The world would have been a much better place if he was still alive. Saw this concert in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada and it was amazing. Tony Iommi is the Godfather of the riff and what a voice Ronnie had! Geezer on the bass and Vinnie Appice on the drums. Just Amazing as I've never seen speakers chained to the ceiling and floor in a concave manner. I thought the roof was going to blow off!
Oh man, Vinny Appice is a sight to behold live, seen him play three times, a true drumming God. Edit: I also heard his older brother Carmine in the early 70's.
The greatest thing about Black Sabbath is we got Ozzy & Ronnie , basically 2 bands from 1, we definitely grew up with the greatest generation of music. 🤘🤘
I've listened to Rap and Dance for 20+ years and have just discovered Metal and there's no going back. Dio is a masterful showman, one of the best performances I've ever seen, I would have loved to have seen him live. Amazing. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Going against the grain here, but I'm going to say it anyways, Ozzy was a better singer live, Dio better in the studio. Black Sabbath Paris 1970 illustrates that in my opinion.
Im 19 years old and im obsessed with rock and “old” metal. Music should be like how it was back then!! Sucks that I wasn’t even alive to see it at its prime, but rock n roll never dies!!❤️🔥 Ps. Both dio and ozzy are gods
DIO, displays a jaunty masterful confidence when he moves back and forth that doesn't have a hint of arrogance is what I find captivating about him. It's also the eye looks along with the facial expression that goes with that back and forth motions of his .

Love Black Sabbath, any era. I was 15 when I got Black Sabbath my first album. I loved to watch the evolution. RJD has a a soulful deep resonating voice that vibes down to my bones. He fussed with his hair even more than I perceived doing myself, back then!😂 Great memories. I asked my beloved divine, creator or all that is, to be transported back to the 70’s again. I loved the feeling of laid back-ness and peace & freedom and and I landed here in Panama. ❤

I’m touched by your comment that would be a Great Song for your send off..this Earth is all about heaven and hell you live in hell and forever live in Heaven with family friends and Dio and with the Father and Son ...
Heaven And Hell Sing me a song, you're a singer Do me a wrong, you're a bringer of evil The devil is never a maker The less that you give, you're a taker So it's on and on and on, it's heaven and hell Oh well The lover of life's not a sinner The ending is just the beginner The closer you get to the meaning The sooner you'll know that you're dreaming So it's on and on and on, oh it's on and on and on It goes on and on and on, Heaven and Hell I can tell Fool, fool Oh uh Yeah, yeah, yeah Well if it seems to be real, it's illusion For every moment of truth, there's confusion in life Love can be seen as the answer, but nobody bleeds for the dancer And it's on and on, on and on and on and on and on and on and on They say that life's a carousel Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well The world is full of kings and queens Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams It's heaven and hell, oh well And they'll tell you black is really white The moon is just the sun at night And when you walk in golden halls You get to keep the gold that falls It's heaven and hell, oh no Fool, fool You've got to bleed for the dancer Fool, fool Look for the answer Fool, fool, fool

My uncle talks about this tour this was the black & blue tour he gets goose bumps as big as golf balls when he talks about said it was amazing. He said when they walked into Hara Arena is looked like a huge funeral home lol
I was 10 yrs young in 1979 when I first heard this album visiting my uncle and antie, I was looking thur his vinyl collection, he put it on for me, I was hooked, that xmas my folks bought me a getto blaster and my uncle gave me the cassette Heaven and Hell, i blasted that awesomeness...❤ thanks uncle barry... RJD thank-you, your legendary music lives on forever❤❤❤
This video has to be one of the most pure metal videos ever
Those riffs are beyond divine !
@@godzillasimpson8357 Ozzy has always been spectacular, Just like Ronnie James. You don't have to discredit one to make the other look good, they were both irreplaceable masters of metal.
Holy diver riff
@@godzillasimpson8357 yeah he got into drugs and still had a great solo career. Shit in his name however u want but Ozzy isn't falling to oblivion. Respect for both of them
Ronnie uses his voice like an instrument- he’s a true singer and artist… there’s not any signal processing on his voice I can hear, no reverb, doubling, echo, delay … just pure voice … the vocal and guitar call and response at the 5 minute mark is incredibly strong… gets the crowd to sing on and on and on… he sounds so sober and cool talking to them audience… “it’s all you people on the sides and way up in heaven that we want!” He gets them to compete with each other! They are having so much fun singing with him!

He vocally attacks songs with ferocity is amazing
In Black Sabbath not everything revolved around Ozzy Osbourne. The contribution of this legend of heavy metal is undeniable.
@Virtual X Another underrated singer
Ian Gillan too
Well ya its not Ozzy's band it is Tony Iommi's band
Donald Dopierala exactly

The most iconic voice in heavy metal history
Sometimes I wonder how people can put awesome things like this together
A Force of Nature! Pure Talent! He sang with passion and conviction. Rest in Peace, dear God of Metal. 🤟
Can I go out on a limb and say, Ronnie isn’t only the best singer in metal, but one of the best singers in rock and recorded music ever? His technique in breath support is text book perfect. And his swagger, groove and soul is as good as anyone in the 60’s decade.

Gone 11 years ago, still missed.
Absolutely 💯
Loooove this song ❤️🔥
I saw Sabbath with Ozzy a few times back in the 70's. I saw this line up twice once in Long Beach and once in 1980 along with 75,000 others in the LA Coliseum. Dio had quite the vocals and stage presence. RIP RJD.
I fucking agree. I was like... WatdaFUK. Now? Wish I was there.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤HELL YEAH DAMM RIGHT
I'll start getting saying that Ozzy's voice is one of the fundaments that made Black Sabbath be. But Dio's voice is something else. He's the best singer in my book and also a good man who cared about every one of his fans. The world would have been a much better place if he was still alive. I wish all Black Sabbath fans the best and RIP Ronnie, you are and will be forever missed.

Thanks from beyond metal
RJD composes crowds and gives insane performances all in one. Now I understand why rock music was so revered and epic compared to today.. This was just one song and it felt like a whole show, talk about getting your money's worth. Masters of craft at work
Black Sabbath will forever be no1 metal band of all time

I am so lucky to have been young to live through this time of kick ass rock, seeing Dio live is still one of my favorites
Wow! You are really lucky. Man Im really young and I love old metal bands. I wish I lived in the 80s..
Was this footage filmed on Black Sabbath’s ‘Heaven & Hell’ tour?. I hope more footage of this gig exists.
Oh man, Vinny Appice is a sight to behold live, seen him play three times, a true drumming God.
Edit: I also heard his older brother Carmine in the early 70's.
@@mickk8519 if you think Vinny is something, you should see Bill Ward.

One of the best Songs ever. Dio was really great. I love Black Sabbath.
Tuve la gran bendición de Dios de ver a esta banda en mi país México en el Auditorio Nacional..
I love Black Sabbath
qué envidia... me hubiera gustado también poder disfrutar de una banda de rock tan emblemática. Saludos desde Colombia.
Awesome!!
Dio having the command of the audience like this is unreal. Between Freddie, Rob and Ronnie, this was a magical time.
His voice is mighty. It is a thunder rolling by over and over....endlessly

Amazing. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
And you still have soooo much to discover. You will be amazed.
He was excellent live.
Rock hard ride free 🤘
Welcome to Metal, man.
Listen to rainbow stargazer that's dio's masterpiece
I love the audience interactions...dio really involved his fans..
My God what a force to be reckoned with
Tony: "How can we keep the band going without Ozzys iconic voice"
Dio: "Hold my goblet"
Best comment. Made me spit my drink out. I only wish I was drinking from a goblet.
Lmao 🤣 Dio was awesome
Ozzy 6... Ronnie 10+
Ozzy is better off a solo artist anyway
Going against the grain here, but I'm going to say it anyways, Ozzy was a better singer live, Dio better in the studio. Black Sabbath Paris 1970 illustrates that in my opinion.
One of the best metal songs
Im 19 years old and im obsessed with rock and “old” metal. Music should be like how it was back then!! Sucks that I wasn’t even alive to see it at its prime, but rock n roll never dies!!❤️🔥
Ps. Both dio and ozzy are gods
I really love Geezer's bass lines, it goes so well with Iommi's riffs
R.onnie James you brought the Gods to us. Thank You
We were blessed to live in a time where Ronnie James Dio could share his gift and talent with us. Thank Heaven he lived amongst us for a time.
No Sir, Thank Heaven and Hell \m/
Dio is probably thanking you for saying that from up there... or probably from down there.
DIO, displays a jaunty masterful confidence when he moves back and forth that doesn't have a hint of arrogance is what I find captivating about him. It's also the eye looks along with the facial expression that goes with that back and forth motions of his .
I'm new to Dio, and that is exactly what I noticed about him, too. It's almost magical
@@BSIII Well he's a professional person since in music it's 100% from beginning to end complete, no in between, imagine a car without carburetor , not much of a car now is it, it's 100% with full confidence in performing.

Very well put!!
He was perfect! I love listen to him again and again and again... ❤️🇧🇷
I agree Chuck
Dio doesn't need the rock and roll lifestyle of cocaine and booze. He is too cool for that IMO.

I had actually heard about Dio joining Sabbath before the album came out so it was no surprise. However when I bought "Down to Earth" I was stunned to hear Grahm Bonnett instead of RJD, I didn't listen to the album for months tho I grew to like it.

Real Sabbath and Metal fans will never forget the Triumphant Dio Years. Everyone has their opinion on who they prefer, but at the end of the day let's all just bang our heads and enjoy some great fucking music.
Yes! The death of Sabbath with Ozzy brought us the great Dio era, as well as Crazy train and the great Ozzy solo carrier.
Love Black Sabbath, any era. I was 15 when I got Black Sabbath my first album.
I loved to watch the evolution. RJD has a a soulful deep resonating voice that vibes down to my bones.
He fussed with his hair even more than I perceived doing myself, back then!😂
Great memories.
I asked my beloved divine, creator or all that is, to be transported back to the 70’s again.
I loved the feeling of laid back-ness and peace & freedom and and I landed here in Panama.
❤
I'm so happy I had chance to see him and hear his voice alive. He was a great personality. He was singing dark music, but in the same time was such a pure mind and soul.
Heaven and Hell is always my favorite song. Because it explains the story of my entire life. And still lives on today . Thos song will be played at my funeral when it's time to lay me down forever.
Same here..
Me too Michael, it’s on the playlist!; but my curtain call will be the king of riffs ... Children of the Sea.’ Never ... never ... coming back.’
Nice Choice but mine will be Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven. And you all have a good drink and celebrate my life with a bottle of Jameson Whiskey when they play the song. Cheers!
me too i was right out of high school when it came out, i was dragged to a methodist church by my insane angry hateful controlling mother my dad and sister too, mom was kind and loving until going insane from christianity, the lyrics hit home on the evil of organized religion that i knew as a 4 year old, how sick that fuqin book of lies really is

Heaven And Hell
Sing me a song, you're a singer
Do me a wrong, you're a bringer of evil
The devil is never a maker
The less that you give, you're a taker
So it's on and on and on, it's heaven and hell
Oh well
The lover of life's not a sinner
The ending is just the beginner
The closer you get to the meaning
The sooner you'll know that you're dreaming
So it's on and on and on, oh it's on and on and on
It goes on and on and on, Heaven and Hell
I can tell
Fool, fool
Oh uh
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Well if it seems to be real, it's illusion
For every moment of truth, there's confusion in life
Love can be seen as the answer, but nobody bleeds for the dancer
And it's on and on, on and on and on and on and on and on and on
They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
It's heaven and hell, oh well
And they'll tell you black is really white
The moon is just the sun at night
And when you walk in golden halls
You get to keep the gold that falls
It's heaven and hell, oh no
Fool, fool
You've got to bleed for the dancer
Fool, fool
Look for the answer
Fool, fool, fool
Thank you so much !
Kind of trashing any semblance of IP
Heaven and hell is life
Very cool
