Hi Chard, I have a question. Within the Wiz App, is there a setting to set the motion sensor activate for a specific of time. Let’s say from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Thanks a lot
Chardman - Great unboxing vid and explanation. Nothing more frustrating than getting home and needing to go back to the store just to get batteries. Question: have you tried disconnecting from wi-fi and operating the lights with the remote? Just curious if it would actually work or not. Any info appreciated!!! Great job.
It all depends on your setup. If you want to turn on all the lights or turn off all the lights then you just need one, anything other than that yes you will need a remote for each room.
Thank you for this! Is it possible to create channels with the remote? It would be nice if I could have different groups programmed so not all lights turn on at the same time. Similar question, do you know if you can have the motion detector only turn on one particular bulb?
I got to wiz bulbs outside already and wanted to at to more wiz bulbs for my bedroom lamps but if I get the remote will it control the lamps in the room plus the lights outside say if the lights outside are already on and I want to use the remote to turn off the lamps in the room will it also turn off the lights outside as well
So are you saying I need to buy the motion sensor and a wiz bulb? It's going in a windowless bathroom so it should turn on everytime someone enters the bathroom
Can you set it so that if it detects motion once (e.g. in a hallway) it switches the lights in a room on and leaves them on until it detects motion again?
I see what you are trying to do, not possible with this motion sensor, but I'm going to do some experiment and see what I can come up with. The only thing you can do now is put the sensor in the hallway and set a delay time for the lights to go out in that room
I would love a remote like this to just velcro onto the wall and use as a lightswitch, but unfortunately I have more than just Wiz products. The alternative would be a Flic starter kit, but they're like $160. All I want is a button on the wall, but apparently no one makes something like this.
Hello, id like to have this setup at my front door. Can the light stay on all night as low dimmed(nightlight) and then when the motion sensor detects someone at my door it goes to a bright setting? and then say after a minute of not detecting motion, can you set it so it goes back to dim setting?
Hello David, see what you are trying to accomplish with this request, but you won't be able to do it with WIZ, you would have a better chance with the Philips Hue motion sensor.
Yes you can, within the Wiz app you have to create a scene which includes those two or more bulbs and then connect them to the motion sensor. If you would like a demonstration video please let me know
Hai chard, i already bought 3 bulb wiz, is it possible to set different settings each bulb using apps and remote? Lets say 2 bulbs on my ceiling set daylight, 1 more bulb for table lamp set warm light.
Hi there, 1st time using Wiz here, I have question, if we leave the lamp button on and turn off lamp from device, does the electricity still running and will it cost my electricity? Thank you.
Hello. I bought a Wiz bulb and With motion sensor, when i set up everything the sensor seems not to work and the bulb start to do silly things. Do I need to link with Alexa its incompatible?.
HELP!!!! he light will *NOT* stay off. I configured it exactly the same as you 05:35 (turned OFF the Advanced Settings - Detection delay) and it seems the light is receiving motion _all the time_ even though there is no activity. This makes the entire feature useless as the light is on 24/7 now. Either I received a defective controller or like most items in the home automation world, it seems they do not have these well-designed ready for market just yet.
NVM I just figured out why they have that "Advanced Settings - Detection delay" and the purpose is to keep the state of light to avoid this problem. So I set the Advanced Settings - Detection delay to +1 minutes to what I set the Motion NOT Dectected. Therefore: -- Motion Detected: ON -- Motion NOT Detected: 10 minutes -- Detection Delay: 11 minutes This seems to work ... but @#$&^* why is this app so complicated and missing so many features that would be so easy to implement.

Hi, no and wish it did
Thank you.

Thank you very much. I believe it will still work
Is there a way to schedule the motion sensor? I want it to only activate at night but I can't seem to find a setting for this.
unfortunately no, you'll need the Philip Hue sensors for that. Philips HUE vs WIZ Motion Light Sensors ua-cam.com/video/gEGViw3yvWU/v-deo.html
The screws and batteries are included with the motion detector now😅
Is the WiZ Portable Button good? 🤔
Good video, Thanks :-)
Thank you for the feedback
Hello chard I have a question do you need a remote control for any room on your house? I you can use the same for every room
It all depends on your setup. If you want to turn on all the lights or turn off all the lights then you just need one, anything other than that yes you will need a remote for each room.

You're welcome. Yes you can create groups and include which every bulbs you like. Then the remote will only address those bulbs
Thanks for the video!
You are welcome - glad to help

You can setup the remote to control one bulb or a group of bulbs, so it all depends on how you group the bulbs.
Will we be able to connect more than one lamp with single remote and operate them as single unit?
So are you saying I need to buy the motion sensor and a wiz bulb? It's going in a windowless bathroom so it should turn on everytime someone enters the bathroom
It would be a perfect fit for that situation
Can you set it so that if it detects motion once (e.g. in a hallway) it switches the lights in a room on and leaves them on until it detects motion again?

I agree with you and yes unfortunately the Flic buttons are the only option right now, shame!

Is there a way to have the light turn to different settings withe motion sensor?
Say, I just want 10% brightness after 11pm
In the Wiz App, the 3 lines on the top left will bring up a menu, on the menu there is a schedule, that's where you would setup the time frame
Why did they have to make the blue motion sensor LED so bright? Any way to tone it down or shut it off? It's too much flashing in a 4x4 foot bathroom
Sorry to hear that. None that I know of.
@@ChardTheTechGuy It has turned into an education on Wiz. I carefully opened the sensor and placed some electrical tape over the LED.

Hello Jim, yes you have to set them up as groups. the 2 bulbs in one group and then the other in a group by itself.

Ofcourse not.
I see, thank you ^^
Only when the lights are on

Yes that's the down side, the app is not as smooth sailing as the Hue app, hopefully that will get better in time
Does that sensor only work for wiz light bulbs
Yes only with those bulbs
Right now I have a regular lamp voice controlled via a c wemo plug
That's awesome - thank you for sharing.
how long the battery will last?
Not sure - depends on usage
I am on iPhone and I don’t see any plus sign please helppp!!
Not sure why you're not seeing it. Try removing the app and then adding it again.
The batteries for the Remote are there in the box, just a bit hidden...
Thank you
I almost went the hue route but everything is too dang overpriced. $55 for one bulb is ridiculous
Hi, does Alexa recognize de motion sensor?
Alexa doesn't recognize the wiz sensor but Alexa does recognize the hue sensor
Mines came with batteries 🔋
Well that was a complete waste of time don’t waste your money on Wiz,try and set it up haha Brain Surgery is required.
Does it work with WiZ lightstrips
