Aaron, your video here is the only one I found to break this stuff down for Wiz Phillips RGB lights. It is simple, plain English that I can easily understand. Thank you for a great video! Now to go check out your Internet of Things playlist!
Glad I was able to help you out. Appreciate the comment and feedback!
Thank you finally connected my wiz lights to Alexa
It is great isn't it!
Very helpful, great deal of LED bulb, just needs a lot of patient setting it up and getting integrated to Alexa or Google home.
Well done video! Incredibly thorough! Still got the red flash of failure, yes I'm 2.4, yes I'm only 6ft away from router, yes I waited for the double purple flashing, yes I tried auto and manual set up. I've been outsmarted by a lite bulb :(
Could be a bad bulb. Have you tried to reset and try the process again?
@@HelpCloud I bought two more, and all 3 started working! Thanks for reaching out!
Very good explanation video
Thank you sooooo much, ive had these bulbs for a year!
Glad I could help!!
Bro I just bought some of these things and they're awesome good job on the video.
Awesome! Thank you! They have worked great!
So cool the colors are vibrant I have smart strip lights and bulbs there 100 dollars combined when some are expensive and there dull I have those both for 800 lumens as well there bright I like it
Nice!
Thank you so much! The iPhone app is not very intuitive and your video saved me a lot of frustration!!
Glad it helped!!
Whats that white thing on your desk that glows orange it looks really cool
It is a Space Shuttle Lamp
Legit helped me out so much! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Hallo,,, can i setup 3 light bulbs with different character in one divice ?
Can you explain a different "character?"
in your video I see you have them listed individually. I figured out you can tap and drag them and create one "folder" allowing you to control both at the the same time but is there a way to easily switch between controlling them together and seperate? the only way I see to do this is to do as I said before and then tap and hold on the folder of them together and then drag one light out of the folder to control them seperate. also, I found some "merkury" smart bulbs at walmart that appear to go by the name of geeni in the rest of the retail world for $20 for a pair of bulbs so only slightly cheaper than these and in some ways things are easier to do with that app and it seems like they have more customizability. with the geeni (merkury) bulbs there arent as many presets but you can customize 4 or so of said presets although you cant control the color temp.
Wait so whats the difference between these and the Phillips Hue which cost like 200 bucks?
Hue version uses a bridge that connects to your router so the bulbs connect to that instead of directly the router. you can also just connect with bluetooth on your phone but are limited to just 10 bulbs for a room. the philips hue app has way more dynamic scenes and customization options and is a more intuitive app. your basically paying for reliability with hue as its better to use the hue bridge that works with the lights. So in a nutshell way more dynamic color choices and better reliability is what you are paying for. IMO if your doing a whole house or if your router is far away from the lights Hue is the way to go. However, if you just doing a room or two and live in small apartment or house Wiz version is perfectly fine. i have wiz and its worked great for me. no issues at all. Note- this video is 4 years old. the wiz connected app is a different version now and they have made it a lot better than the one he is using.
Thanks! I finally got it!
Awesome, how do you like it?
I have one luminaire which takes two lamps...if i put 2 dimmable wifi rgb lamps and with simple switch...can i control the 2 lamps the same color at the same time with one command at Alexa app????
Yes you can, because you will leave the lamp switch on and control them via the app.
@@HelpCloudAlexa-group???? Or routine???
Yup! I use them in both. I have a group for office and a good night routine that shuts them down.
@@HelpCloud thanks for your help....i have all lights connected to Alexa app but all are with single lamps....first time i ll try this....thanks....
@@nikosko10 You bet!
what's the difference between this light bulb and a phillips hue light bulb? Also, would i need a hub to do all this?
The Hue system needs a hub for all the devices to connect to. This setup in the video does NOT need a hub and connects to WiFi. Having a hub is more expensive but minimizes wifi clutter.
I finally got it set back up. So time consuming ugh. I basically had to uninstall the app and reinstall. Lets say my app acts up again. Is there a way to save my lights without having to go back and reconnect each one of them? I have 4
Not that I have found.
@@HelpCloud Now when I am away I cant turn them off and on.. Have to be on my wi fif(when I get back home). The wiz app is so buggy, Will never recommend these to anybody now (sad face)
My wiz app started acting up. Installed back in jan and never had a problem, So I had to delete app and and reinstall. Looks like I have to redo everything, Problem I am having now is I can get light to go into the blinking mode so I hook up to wi fi. Any ideas? Been turning it off and and on alot and I only getting warm white and daylight and thats it. Cant understand why I can just go back to my original home.
Are you seeing a "Wiz" wifi network at all?
@@HelpCloud I finally get the light to turn white bluish blinking and I'm getting the wiz in my Wi-Fi but it's not connecting long enough for me to connect to it. It always just keeps loading even after waitin 5 mins.my wifi keeps reconnecting goes back to my regular connection any ideas?
Thank you....you just talked me out of it. Ill go with Phillips Hue like the rest I have
ASK FRED64 Cool.......
But no one asked 😂
It's helpful. Thank you Helpcloud.
You bet!
Do you know how long these lights will last compared to a normal light bulb?
They are rated for an average of 25k hours, which is over double the life of a standard screw in bulb.
Thanks for the help, was finally able to set mine up. Also had a laugh seeing the “fuck-box 5000” in your WiFi list.
I get a kick out of every time I see it haha
So other than the price and the wifi, whats the difference between these and Hue bulbs? Is the quality of these lights the same as the Hue bulbs? The price seems to be too good to be true.
The HUE bulbs require a central hub for all of them to sync to. These do not, and just use the WiZ app to connect directly to your wifi network.
You can’t really use a smart switch with these lights. They claim you can with hue.
Is this video are you using soft box light or ring light ?
I was using a softbox in this one.
IS it possible to adjust or change the brighntness of each bulb ?
Yes it is. For example I can tell Alexa to change my living room lamp to 30% brightness. You can also set them up to ramp up in brightness over time.
Did you have the lamps plugged into smart plugs?
Nope, the bulbs themselves are wifi enabled.
So i follow the steps in the wiz app but everytime i try to connect to the lightbulb network It never connects to the wifi or get an error ik this is an old video and i just need help....
Does the Manual connection work?
This would work for an echo dot right?
Yup that is what I use in all my rooms.
@@HelpCloud Only one is working with echo, the other one wont even though they are both marked as Bedroom
can you link it with siri ?
Not as of right now.
What are the names or where to find those lamps?!
philips wiz connected, only found at home depot.
Hey! In Alexa app it's saying bulb is unresponsive, any tips?
Try rebooting the router or modem
Don't work on Android tried 4 times on multiple Android device no luck , so what I did download the app on my iPad and it work right away
All of this was setup on an Android device. What Android did you have?
@@HelpCloud one plus 7 mine and my wife phone and Alcatel tablet,
I did see it up with iPad ,but I have one problem , Everytime I want my light on I have to switch it, because when it's off it won't respond to my Alexa but once it's you can change the color true alexa
Don't have option for Wiz smart home skill
Could be a region lockout or check to see if yours apps are up to date.
I have the exact lamps
Nice! Are you a fan?
I can’t get it to change color, help!!!!
Very it has a stable connection to your Wi-Fi
I can’t Chang colors!
Same help
WOWOWOW
?
the router has to be really close? based off of what?
Basics 101
Why would I want to join someone else's fricken home??! !
Who knows, but the option is there!
you shouldnt say taillight company limited because taillight is not recognized as a key word. It would save alot of time for anal people like myself who will search and search for the app that says taillight through the entire web. Call me stupid but it is what it is!! LOL! P.S. I have one of those exact same lamps!!! Now I must search the entire web for another one. JK.
Haha! Roger that!
does everything you said but change scenes.
Mine has issues with scenes too. Soon as I find the issue I will let ya know!
@@HelpCloud So, how in the world did you make scene changes in your video, through editing?
@@codswinger It works sometimes and other times it doesn't.
@@HelpCloud hmmm. Well, I am digging in deep with it. If I figure anything out Ill drop you a line.
@@codswinger Found the fix! When you are using the command, You say "Alexa TURN ON *Scene Name. I was using the command "Alexa PLAY *Scene Name" Once I swapped the command, everything works great!
