How does WiZ SpaceSense™ work?

- Get to know how the new WiZ SpaceSense™ technology works with Danny Lousberg, Head of product management at WiZ.
SpaceSense™ is a motion detection technology developed at WiZ, that allows you to automate your smart lights based on movement without the need for any dedicated motion detection hardware. To make this possible, we have effectively turned any SpaceSense™ compatible connected by WiZ devices into the most subtle and integrated motion sensors in the world.
Any room with at least two installed SpaceSense™ compatible devices can activate motion detection. Just as if you installed a couple of classic passive infrared motion sensors. SpaceSense™ works across the entire room. The lights don't require a line of sight, so there is less risk of blind spots. Unlike most other motion detection technology, SpaceSense™ doesn't require batteries or physical installation.
From the moment you have onboarded your lights in the WiZ app, you're basically good to go. since it's all needly integrated into a single hardware package. There is no need to go and buy more products, saving you a little bit of money along the way.

Feature Request - Motion sensor zones, that are independent of room zones. ie. a motion zone may want to contain lights in hall and living room.
Can create more “rooms” within a room, basically label more sections and assign appropriate lights🤔
Good job. I like the bit about it getting better over time. Please make it so we can more easily identify individual lamps so we know which one is near the "center of the room", etc. Thank you.
Hi there,
We thank you for your suggestion. We are always improving and look forward to working on this for you.
You can name the individual bulbs. If one is closer to the center then just use that one
Is beacon light also supposed to be activated on off w motion?
Question 1: When i hear machine learning and analyzing, i think about power consumption for processing those analytics. How much more power consumption is required compared to a normal light without space sense?
Question 2:
I also wonder: since there is no light sensor this would mean the lights also turn on when the sun is shining in the room? Or is there a way to enable space sensing only from sunset till sunsrise for the current location?

After buying my first pair of WiZ Gu10 Wifi RGB lamps (which support SpaceSense), I find a shame that the Matter implementation is lacking.
In Home Assistant, the Fade settings are not configurable which is super annoying.
Also, SpaceSense is not exposed to be configured neither.
It's like Matter support was added just for marketing.
Hi.
Thank you for your feedback and for bringing to our attention the limitations you've encountered with the Matter implementation for our WiZ GU10 RGB lamps.
We would like for you to refer to this FAQ below for Matter Compatible Product List:

Wiz white light bulb A67 E27 TW max 13 W
White light only 2700k to 6500K.
Best ever bulb for studing.
13 W spot on . Good lumens - about 1500 lumens.
Much better then 9W.
9W is too dark for studing.
At the morning I put it on 5500K or 5000 K which improves concentration according to research . In the late evening I put it on 4500K or 4000 K to not reduce melatonin secrerion in the body ( needed for sleep).
Before sleep and after studing Input it on 2700K or night mode to relax.
This is the only bulb I can do it - all the other companies make 9W or 11W which is to dark for studing .
The one thing I love the mosr about the Wiz ( v2) app is the ability to choose white light Kelvin tempIt is a must !!!
Every student should have this bulb. RGB is a gymic ; I am using the white light bulb not the RGB.

Create another “room” label within the room , assign bulbs you want triggered
Doesn't it work with a single bulb?
Hi there, thank you for your comment. To use Spacesense, you'll need at least two bulbs or more. The more bulbs you have, the more accurately they can detect your presence. This is because Spacesense uses multiple processors to work together and provide more precise sensing.
Feel free to contact us directly as we are more than happy to assist you with this.
I just set up 3 wiz smart sense downlights and cannot get the motion sensors to work.My settings are: Phase 1: 24 hours/When motion detected:On /When no motion detected: off/Delay: 4 mins Your lights change to: off / Sensitivity is turned all the way up to 9. Please help or they will be going back to the shop for a refund

I'm guessing you never got it working? Seems like a good idea but my lights are just turning on all the time. Granted I just set it up but I imagine you'd have to have the optimal conditions for this to work

How do we know what device is compatible because i have a Philips smart bulb
HI there CacaVaca, currently all devices that are Bluetooth enabled regardless of manufacturing date work with SpaceSense. You will be able to confirm if your device has the bluetooth by referring to the packaging box, but please do also feel free to reach out to us, and we will be happy to confirm for you as well.
From the Wiz V2, press on Settings, scroll down and click on Help Center and from here you will be able to initiate a Live chat Support.
Yes when i try to do spacesence it says “Make sure that the devices you have selected are connected to the same network and the same Wi-Fi access point. Mesh networks may not support SpaceSense.” But my bulbs are connected to the same internet
Hi there CacaVaca, thank you for your kind reply. We may need to troubleshoot this for you and do seek your assistance to reach out to our support team.
From the WiZ V2, press on Settings, scroll down, and click on Help Center, and from here you will be able to initiate a Live Chat Support.
Why i my e27 bulbs say they are not compatible? I have in same room 6 bulbs. What is problem?
Might be an older bulbs you got from Wiz.
Hi Mihael,
Thank you for your interest for SpaceSense. We can assure you that the SpaceSense compatibility check within the app is very accurate but if you would like further confirmation, our support team can help provide a confirmation as well, using their internal system, should you no longer have the packaging box.
If you are going ahead to purchase new lights to enjoy the SpaceSense feature, please use the information in the following link to confirm the compatibility:

@@rasmusvestergaard4155 i have buy them 3 months ago
@@WiZlighting you probably still sell old bulbs. I buy them 2 months ago
@@mihaellinc2481 yeah okay, sounds new enough but when i bought new ones today which was placed inside of one of their lamps, those were old wiz bulbs, so you have to buy them without them being pre set into lamps if that makes sense.
Hope you get it solved
is it possible to trigger alexa routines with the motion detected by spacesense?
I don't understand these great reviews. I just bought these and it doesn't work as stated. I can trigger the lights but they NEVER turn off. If I toggle the power off/on then the lights stay on bright white and NEVER turn off for motion detection. These videos are under ideal situations. I'm ready to throw these bulbs in the trash.
Hi! Thanks for your feedback. Need help? Our 24/7 support's a tap away via WiZ V2's Help Center (Settings > Live Chat). We're here to assist!
Play w sensitivity. Mine works best at 8 or 9. Keep trying, you will figure it out after a while. Depends on room size, distance between bulbs, if calibrated correctly within app, etc
Also check router settings, is it a mesh system, regular single router, etc? Power cycling router helps organize devices into communicating correctly as well
Great feature, but why do they have to lie about it?
AI is great for finding possible cancer spots in a picture, but they are a GUESSING ALGORITHM, this is why AI cars fail, you can not use GUESSES to drive a car. I think it's mostly going to be alright that it guess if a person is moving around in a room. Until it decide to turn off the light and my old mother falls and die.
