Dear PRG If you happen to see this then I was wondering If you had an old phone that is slightly damaged that I could have because my phone has just died today and I also really love your channel and don't currently have enough money to buy a new one. day 1 of asking
I'm still rocking the fold3 2 years in and it's holding up fairly well, I am on display number 2 which was repaired for free after a dispute over a scratch on the display, my argument was a scratch on the screen protector did not cause the screen to break down the crease 😂 I won the dispute and the screen was fixed for free 🎉🎉😂
Screen 2 is 10 months old and is perfect, turns out they replace the housing and battery's with the display so I basically got a new phone out of the repair
@@christina2975 Depending on your use case a folding phone like the Fold series can be a multitasking productivity beast, with the Dex boot mode too for turning your phone into a desktop computer. If all your going to do it text, call, & brows social media, folding phones aren't for you.
@@christina2975 @christina2975 Yes it was a lot of trouble for a broken display but I disagree on the gimmick part. To some yeah sure it's a gimmick because they wouldn't use it but to others it's very useful. For me it's the perfect type of device a 2 in 1 phone and tablet. It's perfect for multitasking when I need 2 or 3 apps open together and it's also great for watching content too. I love the folds and will be getting the fold 6 next year
I got a Z-fold three for around 400 bucks, and it was practically perfect with the outer casing nicked in some areas, but completely usable no issues, I think it was a great deal.
Bought z fold 3 like 2 years ago. Severe scratches on the side but everything else works fine. Got hinge repaired once, cost 100usd. Still satisfied with this phone even I've got flip 4
I love my Z Fold3 been using it for almost a year now, 11 months. Bought it used for $368 with the inner screen protector basically coming off. When I received (like yours) it had a dead pixel but hidden away in the taskbar icons at the bottom. So you can barely see it unless you're watching videos in fullscreen. Anyways contacted the seller and he bumped off $40 so basically got it for 328. I bought the Whitestone Dome glass screen protector on amazon for $19.99 to fix the inner display issue. After that no issues. I'm happy with the purchase and it's the best phone I've ever used! Hope you enjoy yours as well!
Does the dead pixel spread after using it for a while? I've heard of phones going from one dead pixel to a big spot on the screen so backed off from buying a Samsung with any black spots on the screen 😅
@AffanZK surprisingly, no. I even tried pressing on it with a blunt pen, I read somewhere if I did that it might go back. Yea no use lol And up till now, it has stayed the same. I'm just glad it's not in the center like most people. That would drive me crazy 🤪
You should have pried open the phone with the broken front display first. Then u would get some experience before going into the working one. Then opening the phone with the working front display would have been a little easier as it's also heated longer. Also, you wouldn't hv to worry about too much heat damaging the working inner display as it's not heated for longer
Kind tempted to try this. I have been wanting to add a Z fold to my phone collection but obviously don’t want to pay the huge amount of money they are going for. I just don’t know if I should store it open or closed. I am leaning towards open in a custom made microfiber pouch.
No reason to store it open at all. It's designed to be closed. If you're worried it about staying closed for long periods of time, the crease isn't a direct fold and more like a small dip, the hinge distributes most of the pressure off the curve. If you're worried about something nasty getting in the fold and creeping under the display, the hinge is bristled and most likely will keep something harmful out. Again, no reason to expose the soft fragile inner display.
My main sticking point on buying folds on the secondhand market is that even if they’re in adequate condition the day you buy them, they have the unfortunate habit of the inner display sometimes choosing to die at random. Best I can tell, this is an uncommon manufacturing defect, and more likely than not you’ll be fine. But I don’t want to spend several hundred dollars on a phone that’s halfway through its software support cycle and also rocking 2-year-old tech, and then also put up with a decent chance that it’ll off itself at any moment. Granted, a brand new one also has a chance to die at random. But it’s a smaller chance, if it happens in under a year warranty covers it, and if you’re worried about it past the warranty you can buy Samsung care. Which, still, you’re gonna spend $2000+ to get a new fold and a few years of Samsung care. And that’s just not worth it to me. Very sad that they have the issue of seemingly randomly dying, especially since it doesn’t seem to be common and they’re otherwise built like a tank. But that makes it hard to justify the purchase, even for a secondhand where you could just buy another one if the first breaks. Think I’ll just buy a S23 Ultra when Black Friday rolls around, and check back on the folds every few years to see how recent models have held up long term.
good advice on the phones not being water resistant years after, just replaced the lcd on my phone and it literally came off with a finger nail and a quick flipping motion lol was held on by absolutely nothing anymore.

yes, foldables are my favourite but there are a few cons. 1. the cracks are way too hard to fix on the screen. 2. z folds are too skinny folded up and too square unfolded. 3. their too expensive for the deal. otherwise i would buy a zfold 5
This is honestly why I wouldn't even bother with a foldable phone until someone in the US (samsung or apple etc.) makes 3-screen foldable like the Huawei mate XT. I hate the aspect ratio of the unfolded screen, it defeats the purpose for me when its so square that your videos aren't even gonna fill up the screen.
I have one. Had it for a year and a half. The original screen protector began to crack after about 7 months and eventually bubbled so bad I tried to get it replaced. I utilized the free replacement screen protector but the worker didn’t know how to install it and it looked worse than before. So I took it off. It was all good for about 5 months until the screen itself began to crack. Until one day I unfolded it and the whole oled screen broke instantly. No user error. And believe it or not it wasn’t even my main daily driver phone. So light use for 1.5 years was enough to kill it for me. And I took great care of it. No cracks and always had a case.

Hey can you help me or do a tutorial on how to fix this because I bought a pink 32GB iPhone 5c from eBay for $40AUD and it said the touch was a bit unresponsive and was temperamental and the back camera didn’t and I thought I could fix that because I have 2 iPhone 5c’s which are activation locked so yeah and I got it today right I opened it up and the home button was falling out and theirs was no back camera but it was water damage which they didn’t know and I replaced the screen also did a colour speak from pink to yellow and even with the colour swap( I only switched the logic boards) and a new screen the touch still sucked and it was sitting in a pawn shop for who knows how long while being water damaged and I can’t fix it and it’s definitely a logic board issue so please can you help me fix the touch
the cheapest way i got one is a slightly damaged surface duo2, there is only a little crack on the curve that is basically invisible! I'll ignore it so my total cost was 299€ (for the phone, box, headphones and a very good case for free) i modded it to run pixel's android 14 and it's so smooth and fast now 🔥
I bought my z fold 2 2 years ago for 200 bucks the hinge won't open fully but still can used the both screens and still works amazing 😂 I got lucky on ebay
I was able to pick up a fold 3 on Facebook marketplace for 400 bucks it's working phenomenally there are two dings on the the corners just scrapes and micro scratches the screens are in excellent condition as well as the back glass really good deal for 400 bucks
I found a popular watch with a died battery and a fried board l found in the garbage. A few months ago I found the same model with a weirdly leaked screen in the garbage again. I merged them and now I have a working watch

I'll ignore it so my total cost was 299€ (for the phone, box, headphones and a very good case for free)
i modded it to run pixel's android 14 and it's so smooth and fast now 🔥
I got used z fold 2 for 400 euros and I am loving it, I am scratching inside screen tho so I will put screen protector soon

Let us know how fast it will break
Just use the motherboard in a monitor or tv in samsung Dex mode with a great great webcam

The 420 reference was the shit of the video 👌🍃
Why u won’t use isopropanol alcohol in combination with heat to reduce the glue from the frame when u pull up the front display?
I found a popular watch with a died battery and a fried board l found in the garbage. A few months ago I found the same model with a weirdly leaked screen in the garbage again. I merged them and now I have a working watch
In my country you can buy a used full functional fold3 for about US $300, pretty the same price.
This was a good video
