You are an excellent craftsman Sir. Beautiful work. Being originally from Salem, Massachusetts I have seen many similar stones in graveyards there. The first thing that came to mind watching your videos is "I would love one of those." but it was instantly followed by the thought "NO I WOULD NOT. NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! NO! NO! NO!" But your work is wonderful and I enjoy your videos as long as it is definitely NOT being done for me.
Thank you for sharing. What an amazing work you do. I was joking with someone the other day about how your kids will spend your money and toss out anything they don't want but the closest thing to "taking it with you" is a proper and fitting headstone.
Sharon’s stone unveiling was yesterday, 11/3/24. It now has quite a few little stones on the top. We said the Mourners’ Kaddish for her, of course, and her son read some of her poetry. The stone is beautiful. BTW, Sharon would have LOVED seeing how dog eared your copy of her book is. Little pleased her more than seeing her book got *used*. May Sharon Ann Burnston’s memory be for a blessing. (The traditional Jewish saying for people after they die.)
Thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute to Sharon! The Lord be praised! I wish I could have met her. We did speak over Facebook for some years! It was a delight to carve this for her memory! Thank you dearly!
This is stunning work. One of my ancestors interred at Granary Burial ground in Boston has a very similar stone. Its damaged and part of the very special (unusual) epitaph is broken off and missing. I spoke to the Boston historical society about repairing replacing it. I will reach out to you with questions. Amazing craftsmanship and I adore wandering cemeteries and reading all the stones.
You do very beautiful work. I used to carve granite headstones when I got out of the Marine Corps in 1972. I really enjoyed carving the flowers. People don’t understand that you just can’t make even one small mistake in stone carving. You can’t erase it and you can’t go back and correct it. Everything has to do absolutely correct every time. 😮😊
This is so beautiful, and what a lovely tribute! Thank you for explaining all of the little details; I always learn so much from these videos. I was SO relieved to see the little "d" to make it "beloved," and you're right-I've seen many older stones that have a bit of folksy style like that. It makes it very special that you put that in there. And thank you for giving glory to the Lord for your creations. My husband and I have been doing quite a bit of reading together through the Old Testament this year, and having been an artist up through my college days, I always take note of the places where it says that God had given certain people special artistic abilities for His glory. In UA-cam land, I love watching people do what they're good at, and it's even better when they know Who has ultimately made that possible in their life! The Lord's continued blessings to you and your family.
That is very kind indeed! The Lord be magnified! All this work is just a platform to give God the Glory! Let His name endure forever! Bezaleel and Aholiab are 2 favorites of mine from the OT!

I have not thought of these verses like that. So cool
Me either until I started carving daily.

Beautiful work!
Thank you kindly! I am very thankful and blessed
Wow, I have a million questions.
Great!
Lovely work
Beautifully done!
Beautiful work. How do you calculate the portion of the stone that goes into the ground?
1/3 below ground. 2/3 above ground
Do you do any Civil War reenactments? You do excellent work.
I used to
Do you get your stone from Elberton?
My dad grew up there.
Do you have a we bs ite?
No but I am familiar with the area
Do you put some type of coating on the stone after your work
No sir none is necessary!
@@pumpkintown Thank you
Why don’t you wear eye protection when you carve?
I do when large chips are flying. When lettering there really is no need.
