1830s Marble Stones Recarved in Longer Lasting SLATE!

Join us today as we travel to Grosse Pointe MI just outside Detroit to take place in a special ceremony. Mr Jim Verney had it is his heart to replace two of his ancestors gravestones originally carved in marble in the 1830s, with longer lasting slate.
Using chisel and mallet only with a running of the original I had the honor to re create the original and remain faithful to what was originally there.

Where do you get your slate? And do you order yours with the top rounded or do you do that yourself? I’m having trouble finding thicker slabs in the US.
