    In regards to DKC: Kremling's Revenge, there is actually another rom hack as an addendum to it called DKC: Kremling's Revenge Remodel. It actually tones down the extreme difficulty of the later levels to be more on par with the original DKC challenge-wise (along with a few other changes).

      ty for that, i dont want to deal with Kaizo level bullshit in a rom hack, it's something that irks me greatly, too many devs want to turn the difficulty over 9000 and really just get downright sadistic about it. not like i dont enjoy a challenge, what i dont enjoy is ripping my hair off my head in frustration like i'm Mick Foley. lol

    • @mattb6522
      @mattb6522 2 роки тому +3

      @@UltimateGamerCC No problem! I completely agree. I know some people like Kaizo, but I'm not a fan of it either. I like a fair and reasonable challenge without being stupidly crazy as I want to enjoy a game without getting too frustrated. I always appreciate when rom hackers match the difficulty of the vanilla game and don't add in complete pixel-perfect BS.

      @@mattb6522 precisely, not every game has to be in the same vein as Dark Souls, games can be fun without being overly hard.

      @R1SKbreaker 2 роки тому +5

      @@UltimateGamerCC I feel like there are plenty of retro games that are way harder and unfair than Dark Souls. Dark Souls is not remotely close to what can be considered kaizo hard.

      @UltimateGamerCC 2 роки тому

      @@R1SKbreaker right, but who's to say that many rom hack devs really understand the comparison? people just seem to turn the difficulty as high as they can and if they can beat it then it's ready for the public.

    Nice to see Gemfire get some love. I hope the rebalancing turns the difficulty up, one of the game's biggest flaws is it's just too easy, enemy nations build very slowly compared to a decent player, and are very passive unless they have a clear numbers advantage which generally never happens because they build slowly.

    Genfire is one of my all time Favorites of all games.
    It got me started on the KOEI games.
    Also, me and my friends called ourselves "Gemfyrians" thanks to that game.
    Yes it's mispelled due to copyright stuff. We were young, so reasons and things.

    Man, KUDOS to the people or person who coded/created the 'New Super Mario Land' port. It looks absolutely amazing. If only that person could jump in a time machine and toss that to Mr. Miyamoto to release with the SNES. Thay would be extremely wealthy, that's for sure

    If I didn't know, I would think that Mario's Keytastrophe was an official puzzle spin-off for the SNES that was cancelled last minute.
