Very smart set up how it’s raised and piped up to be higher than usual with a free flow on, just got one on my S3, looking forward to seeing how it’s improves the lifespan. Gonna be fun doing a 1000 mile round drive tomorrow. 😂 fingers crossed I don’t break down ever again
This is great to help keep your engine cleaner, but it is probably better suited on a direct injection engine. Keeps your valves cleaner. With port injection it doesn’t have as much of a benefit.
@@DavidinHD1 agreed looks great and very clean install btw. I just did a walnut blast on my 435i and installed a catch can after. Hopefully this helps with the build up.
Yes it may not help with valves, but i can help lowering the amount of oil vapor burn and raise a bit the combustion chamber temperature, but i think that in a intake only things that should be in there are air and gasoline, no egr or other things
So do we just throw out the oil and screw it back in I just got a Genny with a catch can and I don't know what to do with it the previous owner told me to make sure to empty it with every oil change do I need an oil change or can I empty it whenever I want
You can empty it whenever. It takes a bit to fill up. So after every Oil change would be ideal. And yes you can just dump the oil with the old oil when u change it
No you don’t, u just need to monitor it, you shouldn’t be losing so much oil all the time. If you change your oil like your suppose to, you will be okay. Now if you try n wait forever to change the oil and rack up miles, yes you will need to add oil as a precaution, but you still want to change your oil, you don’t want to keep adding new oil on top of old used oil.
@@DavidinHD1 oh I figured that was a manufacturer's fuck up! Like they just designed it very badly. I mean, hey, oil sumps have a plug, why not oil catches?
It’s just gonna drain out into your engine bay. Most of the time it’s so tight you aren’t gonna fit anything under it to catch whatever is coming out. Unless you pre-route a petcock during your install there is no point of a plug like that.
It was closer to 3000 miles, but depending on how hard you drive it I would check it every 2000 miles or so. It’s all dependent on your driving style brother.
There’s no way you’re giving this man shit for making a 500 mile difference. Especially when he says the word “about”. I just wonder what goes wrong in peoples lives and make them pick on the littlest things.
Prevent oil and other contaminants from causing a buildup of debris inside the engine's intake manifold. It’s extra protection for your engine. I would definitely get one for that beast
@@DavidinHD1 you’re the man! I appreciate it. I was under the impression it was some sort of performance modification. Cause one of the guys at the dealership mentioned it as something that wouldn’t void the warranty. Thanks so much bud!
@@HarryBallsss yeah, not a performance mod, but something you want to have just to protect ur engine. You will be surprised how much oil it will collect

Good luck brother!!! S3’s are nice bro

True, but I does look nice under the engine lol

Tried to order one and no ship to California 😞
Are you serious?? From what site did you try to order?
I installed one about 10 years ago, and never realized I had to actually clean it out. Am I screwed?
Ahh not screwed it’s just right back into ur engine all dirty.. if it’s still running I bet it’s not running to an optimal level
So I’m not trying to be funny, but do we need to replace that much oil in the engine itself after emptying?

Kinda dumb to not have a plug on the bottom so you don't gotta do all that ridiculous unscrewing. But what do I know, I work with diesel lol
Man I wish I was high speed like you… thanks for the info

These are great but man either i have gorilla grip or these thing are tight i always have to remove it completely to drain it from how tight it gets
lol yeah I have to do the same sometimes. I actually had to loosen it up before filming lol

That’s mostly water! not pure oil.
Maybe a little condensation but it’s mostly oil
if that were true it would look more like coffee after creamer and not black coffee
Well it’s hasn’t been used that long so it wouldn’t be creamy yet lol

I gotcha brother lol
