It is not the strongest that survives, It is the one that is most adaptable to change.

Despite your good intentions in sharing your expertise, why does my heart sink every time I watch one of your vids? What are we doing, we musical artists, chasing the winds of attention this way? So, we put everything into our music and then all this social media stuff, too? And if that feels like extreme mission creep, the problem is we’re lazy? “Row harder,” says the taskmaster, “Pharoah wants to waterski…” You may say, “But that’s how it is…” Yeah well it’s messed up. Sigh. Don’t crack your whip. I’ll get back to my oars. Wouldn’t want Pharoah to be disappointed.

A typical business spends 30% of its resources (time, energy, money, midshare) on sales. Why should musicians be any different?

@@RangeWilson Because we’re artists. We’re soothsayers not broadcasters. Lovers not prostitutes. Or we’re not.

but that's the way it is. if u don't want to sell ur music then keep it as a hobby.

I’ll eat my hat if you’re not a songwriter 😅 Love your analogy. Find what works for you. Take what they say and apply it your own way, or don’t! The music is the most important though. Focus on making that amazing and the rest will be far easier.

and then you have to argue with the "gurus" on social media who keep telling all music producers to give up because "nobody wants to hear your music"
unfortunately, those are the idiots who have all the pull on social media. which is why everyone in the music industry if failing at promo on social media...
until the "gurus" are held responsible, the music industry is suffering.
