As a new artist Soundcloud has been a great platform to host demos, private tracks, and just quickly get new songs uploaded on to there. Would love to see it get a resurgence and audience like it had 10 years ago!
It’s happening now
soundcloud is officially back especially in the underground rap community.
@@ParisBattles glad to hear that
@@lifenrg4024 glad to hear it, I'mma see what I can do
I'm probably one of the only serious artist's that still use Soundcloud as their primary distributor. It's inexpensive and a lot of freedom. It allows me to focus on my marketing & promo.🤞🏿✨
Me too I started on SoundCloud in 2016 but I need to learn how to market and promote on their ..
Same it’s experimental
Reallyyy what is the benefits
They’re mostly all inexpensive
All of the distributors allow you to focus on marketing and promo.
Im Soundcloud Artist and I have been consistently dropping every week for the last couple months and have seen so much more engagement and She is 100% Right imo on the moment to moment flexibility you have with posting on soundcloud. There's been a few of those drops I did where I scrapped the original planned release and made one same day and dropped because of positive feedback Not gon lie Soundcloud is fye
The only messages I get on Soundcloud are spammers trying to get me to pay for plays.
Same! For me Soundcloud is dead..
They breezed over this but Seeing where your fans are is super clutch and can help setting up tours and then seeing who your top fans are you can reach out to them and give a personalized experience. This is an amazing feature
It really is
As a EDM DJ, I get a far better result and much higher engagement on SoundCloud than from any other music streaming platform, and all the listener statistics, embedded player API, and fan interactivity is great. Good job SoundCloud!
soundcloud has a lot of potential it’s like a gold mine no1 knows what to do with it
Yesss love Soundcloud and Soundcloud for Artists, the route from Reels/Tiktok to Soundcloud especially for the bootlegs and edits is mega. We've seen tracks start as a edits and bootlegs that have grown on Soundcloud, then the 'unclearable' sample has been cleared and signed.
You can deffo still track the plays of people on PRO and its great for sending demos to labels cos then you can see if the label has listened to your track. If don't hear back from the label then you can assume its a no on your demo, so useful.
I'm very into soundcloud lately, taking the platform more into my strategy. The only thing I don't understand about the platform is: why they don't have a simple push notification for your followers when you drop a new track??? this is the only thing I don't like about it...i think is something fixable
Thank you for organizing this interview, Burstimo... I know what I have to do now!
You see, I have this song I wrote, then I had 2 producers condition it for the clubs; I have promoted other tracks before on SoundCloud, but I think I'll have better results with this clubbing track, when I run Ads on SoundCloud Promote. Because Hope Hale enlightened me that such tracks do better on SoundCloud! Happy days! 🥰
This video was super helpful with hidden tips hidden throughout!
Soundcloud is the OG ive gained 140k streams so far this year but havent had monetization on which I regret.
I switched on monetization but quickly realized I would only be able to monetize my original music because any remixes or bootlegs would need permission from the original artist to monetize. That kinda defeats the whole purpose of soundcloud being the cool streaming service with less rules. Of course the remixes are what get the big streams but cant profit anything on that.
I've always got on with SoundCloud and use it as a primary place for music promotion and distribution. Good to hear the view from the inside
I wasn’t gonna use SoundCloud but reading these comments I may use it.
Interesting conversation, Burstimo!
On the production side, SC and its culture have always played a huge role in (most) genres
the team is helpful, distribution & monetization is simple, insights are detailed, and the feedback is intense!
i've discovered nearly all my favorite artists on there, artwork and branding were definitely big factors !! 👀
it's ridiculous how much incredibly raw talent there is just sitting on the site, its a great place to learn n collaborate
Soundcloud team is solid! been helping me A LOT on my end.
very insightful video! Q: Is soundcloud partnered with YT audio library?
I Didn’t know it’s still good idea to use it. (SoundCloud) Watching and learning now❤
I basically use it as a backup and to check my mixes on different devices.
Although it's full of spam, I kind of like it, But I'm aware that nobody it's going to find me there on their own, I have to be the one guiding them towards it.
Insightful podcast! Didn’t know a lot about the things Soundcloud did behind the scenes. Will be taking a look now
they don't know back in the day how easy it was to get 100k plays guaranteed on every drop on soundcloud and back then it actually helped push other platforms. unfortunately the feeds are ruined across almost every artist you follow so it isn't worth checking main feed anymore:(
What ruined them?
the love florida has for soundcloud is real, I think people dont realize the brand power it can have
Thanks for uploading this. Going to circle back on SoundCloud
I love SoundCloud gives you some nice quick data to know what to focus on more and what to leave and work on for when you want make videos, test paid ads and funnel hacking and content repurposing.
I still use SoundCloud due to my underground fan base but I got music on all platforms
wow. this is sooo insightful. great interview as always. time to get some ideas going before everything gets over saturated. thank you guys
This was really dope … and so was Hope❤🙏🏽
the stage is kind of set for soundcloud to make a comeback. artists are more and more realizing streaming platforms are a scam. most dont make any money from spotify, apple, or tidal. a lot of people still use youtube for music. soundcloud is easier, faster, and makes more sense for an artist that isn't making much from streaming anyway
Great great great info
This is the way
Hope dropped some gemssss 🥂
It is also so easy to pull a track that people don't like, great for demo feedback.
I feel like soundcloud needs to do more to combat spam bots and then I'll think about promoting there again.
Soundcloud needs to get real, the rap industry clearly ran through it and got what it needed, now focus back on the electronic artists and communities that built soundcloud up to what it is today and not keep grasping at the coattails of an industry who doesnt need ot give a shit about the platform lol. bring groups back, you want more community? give the control of the community back to the artists.... seems simple enough...
I couldn’t understand her but it is cool they are branching out and she was chosen
Thanks this helps a lot, thank you 🙏🏼
A song a week till I go viral.
Then, Labels come
THank you
I stand by Soundcloud
interesting vid
i will never understand why they removed groups. that was the only way to get some follower and your tracks heard.
nice
Great video I’m sold to utilize SoundCloud for a streaming platform for sure more often/in general😅 Especially after the comment about making remixes because I just made a biggie big poppa remix. (Its on my btw if you’re interested)❤🙏🏾🔥 thank you for this video ❤
The SoundCloud idea is wonderful… but the app needs an UTTER overhaul. It’s simply wrong. Rebuild that sucker from scratch.
I was very afraid to put any of my music anywhere online for the longest time for fear that it would be ripped off.
I have a lot of diversity and have been copied because of being a little different.
I have copyrights now so I’m not worried .
All rights reserved
i wish the feed was better on soundcloud. i hate seeing only reposts of other artists i don't follow on the feed. i would love if there was an option to turn off reposts in the feed.
A&R artist and repertoire.
has it improved it audio quality yet or is it still worse than mp3 quality at like 128kbps!!???
After watching this I will start tobuse Soundcloud again. I had my songs removed as they said it was copyright, i appealed and showed them i wrote them but still denied. Very weird
Every time I upload I get this Milk saying they can get thousands. Spam. Every time. How can you conteol.this. being fake and people get spammed
I like it 10 years ago, site never changed - feels dated --
❤SoundCloud family . Come find me 😊💕🏖️
Need artists as reps
Are there any international A&Rs working for Soundcloud?
Those who use it and have success on it, what's your secret? I get very little traction from it anymore.
i swear, soundcloud full of bots. how can i feel like we are connected as a communities in one place.
Do Maddie and Alex read these comments? I wanna know if that membership thing is still a thing?
We do indeed! Yup - www.members.burstimo.co
@@Burstimo thanks, I will be getting a membership next year (2024)
💀
How can I get a job
I tell a hit in 5sec of th song being
lol what?! WHO is DISCOVERING artists on SoundCloud fam?
Don't do it they are like a record Label same thing 360 deal no.
I don't know about Sound Cloud Charts, Seems like artist can fake their way on to them, I am listening now to New & Hot and come on man the number 1 song, I will be nice but Really? and then it has 420k Plays 3800 Likes but only 89 comments and only 46 Shares? how you get to those numbers in Plays and Likes with only 46 Shares and 89 comments. Maybe it's real but that don't sound real to me. Just saying.
Nope
fuuuck no, i lost my faith in soundcloud 8 years ago, it went downhill ever since they removed uploading to certain genres music groups
I can barely understand anything she says
Soundcloud is Dead.... the only thing you get is like a view scammers that try to sell something. The views are very poor. If you would put a shitty Song made by your Dog on UA-cam it would still get there more views than on Soundcloud. 8 Years ago this Platform was something special but today it's horrible. A Musician speaking that is uploading since 3 - 4 years Music to Soundcloud and that almost every Week...
Can’t understand a darn thing she said 😢
As for now Sounclound is kinda garbage unfortunetly
Because Spotify will soon be history?
I pay for both from profits I make from Spotify. So naw, web3 will change the internet but it’s going to be sometime before we get there. in the meantime, web2 has plenty of tools for us to use. Spotify is back to profitability this year as well. Look up this data, it’s out there.
Yes you have no chance as indie to make a living there
@@metalxmetalxmetalxmetalx I do just fine as an indie … it sucks that you’re having a hard time with all of this tho.
I don’t think this is worth it either. Soundcloud doesn’t have a good discovery algorithm.
i think the best ones for discovery are youtube, and tiktok currently
Lmao. you serious I do 100x more streams there. Spotify doesn’t . U have to use discovery mode which doesn’t even work 😂
She constantly stuttered, incoherent and uncomfortable to listen to, although she had knowledge. Terrible speaker. Just my opinion.
I'm not convinced that it's worth it to pay $11 a month so that I can get royalties that may be less than that a month. I guess if you pay annually it comes out to $7 a month..
