The Wall is a concept album that is autobiographical, written by Roger Waters. the footage you're watching comes from the film directed by Alan Parker. The album has been a staple for each generation of teenagers in the UK for forty years. The Wall is a metaphor for the barrier we erect around ourselves to protect ourselves from the cruelty and harshness of the World and of the human condition. It's basically a rock star having an existential crisis. It tells the story of a rock star named Pink.(Roger) The album goes through His early life through the education system, His relationship with His mother and the other women in His life. Roger lost His father at Anzio when He was a baby, He never knew His father. His father lost His father in the Somme when He was a child so He also grew up not knowing His father.. Roger is very much an anti-war activist and a champion of Human rights and dignity all over the world. Roger Waters is a master musician and storyteller, I'd be very surprised if Ren wasn't one of those teenagers from a small Welsh village who grew up listening to Roger.
Like you say his father died at Anzio, he was a 2nd lieutenant who was a "pacifist" early on but then became more left wing and joined up after becoming communist.
I need you to substantiate that 'this album has been a staple for each generation of teenagers in the UK for forty years.' And it's pure conjecture that Ren was 'one of those teenagers', without Ren himself saying so.
Great reaction guys. I love your chemistry together so please don’t change, you’re doing great. I would love to see you guys do the full album reaction to this , because it tells a story and takes you on a journey because every song is attached to one another… please think about it and you won’t regret it. Thank you both.
Thank you for your great reaction. I’ve been listening to Pink Floyd since I was 12 and now that I’m 61 they I think they are even more relevant today. Love from Portugal ❤❤❤❤
You guys are such a sweet couple. Glad you found each other. You have a unique perspective from those of us in North America. It would be fascinating to see your impression of *U2* doing *October/Bullet the Blue Sky* in Paris, 2015. It's an epic live performance. Also, when listening to *Pink Floyd,* keep in mind that *The Wall* album was the first one where Roger Waters did the vast majority of the writing, and it was written more as an opera, with a storyline, whereas the previous albums functioned using themes rather than stories (unless we consider the inevitable movement from birth to death a story).
I love your reactions. Very genuine and if great music and lyrics don't draw out raw emotions...then the person is just hearing it instead of listening. You both are awesome!
As American, from Detroit, Michigan, who has been loving your channel, you brought me to tears as well. Eastern Europe has always seemed such a scary, oppressive place to me. I dont know where you’re from, or even where you ended up living your lives. I was so moved by your reaction . God bless freedom, wherever it can be found. Thank you, I wish i could have dinner and drinks with you!
Thank you for being open. I don't know how hard your life was, and WHY it was so hard specifically. Did you both experience government oppression? And if so, to what extreme? I ask this rhetorically. More in line with this song, childhood is hard. Harder for some than it is for others. Personal Insecurities can cripple a person. With proper parenting, these inherited emotional weaknesses can be curbed, and even overcome. God be merciful to those who add to the burden of a child, as happens to Pink in this song / video. Another great reaction guys. Looking forward to viewing more of y'all's videos.
Hello, i listen Pink Floyd since 1970 and i love them forever and ever ! The songs are more than greatest over all, world wide ! I love you and your reaction like always ! Greatings and love from germany ♥️♥️🥰♥️♥️🥰♥️♥️
This lady is so beautiful. Reaction was perfect. Yes this song IS about the 'system' and what society was like after the war and still to this day socialism is ruining lives. Watch oliver twist...
I appreciate the good sharing - you two are beautiful. The connection people can have with this song, and Pink Floyd in general, is worthy of considerable thought. This particular song and "The Wall" as whole are fundamental human concepts. I would like to write more, but it is never enough. There are literally (or were in the 1980's) University classes around the socio-political and existential commentary of Pink Floyd. Specifically, the concept albums DSOTM and The Wall.
Fab reaction , never change, your reactions are relatable we’ve all been there , Floyd give you more questions than answers you will always question what you have heard but whilst your questioning yourself there’s all this beautiful music going on , majority of tunes are sad but written so beautifully and played with such skill your carried away wanting more even though you know it’s not easy lol , your vids are gold keep up the good work 👍👍
Wow. Thank you for his reaction. I’ve been humming ‘we dont need no education’ to myself at intervals for more decades tHan I care to mention, but I’ve never seen/heard this version before.
Oh yeah....1989 the wall falls! I was 13 and the world changed 360 degrees. The song played over and over again. Childhood memories! Greetings from Berlin (east)
180 degrees. 360 you would be where you started again.. BTW Putin was burning secret Stasi files when the wall fell, he did not completely succed and a lot were later recovered. So even as a spy he failed.
You're some honest, sincere and emotionally wholesome people. And, Dominica, you absolutely are someone to say PF is a permanent part of music history and even future. You both are touched by their music, not everyone does, some do not feel music emotionally and that is ok. There will always be future young people who will discover Pink Floyd's musical legacy.
I love you two. You are real. So many in the world today are so phoney and superficial. Just know that you are not alone…..and you are not wrong. I am from the other side of the ocean, but I think like you and I feel like you do. My wife and I consider ourselves fortunate to have found each other and to be travelling this life together. Also….you express yourselves well, considering that English is not your mother tongue. You are great….don’t change a thing.😍🙏🇨🇦
THE MOVIE IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN BTW. I ALWAYS THOUGHT THIS WAS ABOUT ME LOL UR DOING FINE WITH UR REACTION ABOUT ALL PINK FLOYD SONGS!!!!THIS ALBUM CAME OUT WHEN I WAS 16 YEARS OLD AND IT STILL MAKES ME CRY
Awww, you two are so sweet together....I've been a subscriber for awhile now,and I can honestly say its because I just really enjoy watching the two of you discover new music and truly FEEL the emotions within them.Pink Floyd has a masterful way of conveying emotions & thoughts with their instruments and music before any words are even uttered. Romanian???are you from Romania?? I went to do volunteer service work there 3 times when I lived in Europe as a youth....I KNEW I liked you for more than just you're sweet personalities...I LOVED getting to learn about the culture and people.now it makes sense why you were so affected watching this....your perspective and perseverance is admired and much respected.thank you.🎶✌
Thanks you two a great and honest reaction there aren’t many genuine reactors on YT but you are the best ,don’t change ❤ from a real floydian by the way . Love it there’s music and there’s Pink Floyd 😊
I love to see you two in reaction beacause it´s so full of emotions and not so full of analytic stuff. You two spoke from your hearts and that´s great. You two have so good musictaste for me and talk everytime up my alley. I came for Pink floyd, Aurora and Rammsteins music and they are so far from each other musicways but there is so much quality, diversity and emotions. I have listen to music for over 50 years and there is so much good music out there, but this three are the best. Thank you for this. (Sorry about the bad english)
'Another Brick In The Wall' is in 3 parts. The 1st is describing the boy (Pink Floyd)'s father dying in WW2. The 2nd is his experience of school. The 3rd during his insanity later on. The whole 'Wall' album is a concept of the rise & fall of 'Pink Floyd'. It's genius. The video is taken from The Wall movie. That's another story for another time.
In 1989 the wall was teared down in Berlin. Roger Waters and a lot off musical friends played The Wall at Potsdammer Platz in 1990. Very appropriate at that time. With the Dubliners, Sinnead O'Conner, Marianne Faithfull, Snowy White, The Scorpions, Van Morisson, Bryan Adams, etc I was there. The video was taken from a movie with Bob Geldoff from the Boomtown Rats in the leading roll when Roger Waters was still the bassist of Pink Floyd. After that The Pink and Roger went their own ways.
I am thrilled that I found you two. You are a beautiful couple. Experiencing Pink Floy is a blast. I’ve been listening to them for nearly 50 years and yes! Their music is still relevant. These videos are from the movie THE WALL. You should check it out.
Yeah, you need to listen to the entire album to appreciate the context with which the songs were written. The Wall was a musical work of art that needs to be listened through to appreciate.
The part you just watched was another brick in the Wall part 1. The part you guys are thinking where they mention "Education" is another brick in the Wall part 2! Then finally there's a third version In The Wall album called another brick in the Wall part 3! They use the same baseline in all three parts but each part is slightly different overall!
It's true. Corporate employment sucks you in & spits you out. We are & were just fodder for the machines. The Wall was a protest against the school system as it was back then which, for the UK, was a three tier system of Comprehensive, Grammer or Public (private) Schools. All of which were flawed & responsible for much of the chaos we have today. An amazing & very personal reaction. Bravo.
Great reaction, as usual. I wonder if by "messed up" you mean that Pink Floyd does a good job portraying a system that is very messed up? The song "Goodbye Cruel World" closes out the first album, and marks the point at which Pink, the character, is completely surrounded by the wall built around him, hence "Goodbye." If you ever get around to reacting to the album/movie in full, I'll be there!
Think you would love Sam Tompkins - Lose It All (Live Session) . This is Ren's friend that he collaborates with, but it is a fairly new one by Sam alone that is a one take and that he wrote himself. Love your reactions, so hope to see this one soon.
Music today is good but often there is no content in the lyrics or sometimes no lyrics at all. When I was growing up we expected music to have a message. The fact that music like this can touch your heart is proof of the spiritual power of music. Music can express things that words simply can't.
Take a look at "Tarka y Ocarina" by Los Jaivas (1977). It represents the fight of good and evil. Fusion of folklore, rock, jazz, classical music and many instruments. A trip. Los Jaivas, South American Pink Floyd. 😊
This was the start up of the band and Roger departing. 95% of the Wall is Rogers work with little in put ( fighting)with the rest of the band. Rick ( Keys) was fired by Roger. The Wall is a good movie but strange, about a musician that is going insane. The best song IMO on the album is towards the end called "The Trial", where he finally gets judged. My all time favorite rock album, every song on it is great.
Omg you guys always make me cry. You're so lucky you found each other. At 56 I'm still waiting for that. ❤😢
"This is not music; it's something else". Deepest reaction statement I've ever heard. Yes sir, it transcends.
Our class teacher invited the whole class to the cinema at his expense. I will never forget❤
You're both lovely. And Pink Floyd brings up all the feels.
The wall de pink Floyd c'est une excalade émotionnelle extraordinaire 🤩❤

In South Africa as well.
Seeing your reactions to many Pink Floyd tracks makes me feel that we are connected in a very abstract way. Thank you
Great reaction guys. I love your chemistry together so please don’t change, you’re doing great. I would love to see you guys do the full album reaction to this , because it tells a story and takes you on a journey because every song is attached to one another… please think about it and you won’t regret it. You should try Pink Floyd songs from the 1994 pulse concert. Start with comfortably numb.
I absolutely love you guys. So real, so genuine, so kind to each other. Truly beautiful people
wish i were there with you too. you both need hugs. Every brick makes us who we are, and Pink Floyd touches our hearts. i love you two.
I was 10-11 years old when I heard Pink Floyd for the first time, been a fan for the last 45 years.... Great reactions !!!

Thank you for the in depth reaction.

The Wall is one of those albums that NEEDS to be listened to in its entirety in one sitting.
Thank you... thank you thank you ❤.

360 was right, because for me personally nothing was the same as before.Just a little personal story that I associate with this great song.
Love you guys!!!♥️
You're such a lovely couple! ;)
This is a totally different video than what I have seen to this song in US.
Is the film 'Another brick on the wall' from director Alan Parker, 1982
you guys are so sweet.... thanks!
"Definately nailed it" is extremely accurate.
Back to Pink Floyd, back to the legend, back to the real music, yeh
Incredible album The Wall. ❤
Nice, I always watched you and believed you were perfect together, well done for showing your human sides. Peace and Love 🏴 🏴 🏴
Beautiful reaction guys. The lyrics can mean whatever you want. Breakdown the barriers and be free. Good to see you're doing well.
CLASSIC
You two speak from the Heart. It makes sense.

La mejor banda de rock de la historia pink floyd 💫🇲🇽🐉🦅
Great music, and the story is dark ,loving your personal comments to each other 👍🤘🏴
I really enjoy your reactions. Thanks.
It is exactly how you should feel about this song!
This is what my childhood was like but it was my big brother in Vietnam I was devastated
One of my favorites from my youth.
Love your reactions because I personally cannot experience this music for the first time anymore. Thanks.
I love you two. You are real. So many in the world today are so phoney and superficial. Just know that you are not alone…..and you are not wrong. To really appreciate this album you have to watch the movie. It’s the full experience!
The first and maybe only rock opera of its kind.
Masterful!
'Another Brick In The Wall' is in 3 parts. The 1st is describing the boy (Pink Floyd)'s father dying in WW2. The 2nd is his experience of school. The 3rd during his insanity later on. There is a whole feature length film of this .
Try this one next please, 'COMING BACK TO LIFE', Pulse concert, it's also a master piece, three cheers to you two thanks
The most underrated PF tune in my opinion, pure uplifting joy.
There's no excellency like this anymore...
Thee best band ever !!!
I am thrilled that I found you two. You are a beautiful couple. Experiencing Pink Floy is a blast. I’ve been listening to them for nearly 50 years and yes! Their music is still relevant.
These videos are from the movie THE WALL. You should check it out.
Thank you for your likeble reactions. You should really watch the whole film "The Wall".
Ah the good old playground at the start with a 30ft high slide !!
Truth about life. 😊
I saw Roger Waters "The Wall" tour twice. Incredible show live.
Yeah, you need to listen to the entire album to appreciate the context with which the songs were written. The Wall was a musical work of art that needs to be listened through to appreciate.
The part you just watched was another brick in the Wall part 1.

All of which were flawed & responsible for much of the chaos we have today.
An amazing & very personal reaction. Bravo.
Do a live version of this song. Amazing
I think the building in the video was the old Bordesley Green boys school in Birmingham Uk
Try to check out the LIVE performance of Another Brick in the Wall from the PULSE CONCERT.
Wonderful!no wrong interpretations if it moves you
You should 'listen'' to the love
You two are so sweet.

👍👍👍👍👍👍
That was not just Another Brick In The Wall but also "Outside The Wall", (The part with the goodby) that is the final cut on the album and the film.
The four of them together change absolute the sense and feeling of the end, that should be a moment of peace and self reconciliation, not a suicide.
Goodbye cruel world, I'm leaving you today. Goodbye, goodbye, good bye.
This is from the film The Wall if you either watch the full film or listen to the album the Wall you will understand it better.
watch the move..
The Wall is a good movie but strange, about a musician that is going insane. The best song IMO on the album is towards the end called "The Trial", where he finally gets judged. My all time favorite rock album, every song on it is great.
