I’m currently renovating my parts washer that has a failed pump. I’ve watched a lot of these parts washer mod videos, and seen a lot of good ideas. Your design is the best I’ve seen. Yes, it definitely looks like a pain to put all this stuff together. I really appreciate you posting this. I definitely would like to know more about your vortex dirt separator
Thanks! The vortex separator has it's own video here: ua-cam.com/video/QGP_R6vz-Bs/v-deo.html It was a pain to figure it all out. Took me months. Hopefully this video makes it easier for you on your own project!
I just purchased a Harbor Fright parts washer for my small farm. The original, bare, unboxed parts washer is, in my opinion, is rather inadequate for my use, but with some modifications it could be a great asset as Greeley, oily, farm equipment is in constant need of repair. Unfortunately, there are many videos on the subject by others who have also feel the original parts washer is inadequate. Your dry sump design is the only video I’ve seen that separates solvent from the cleaner which in my opinion is the best. I would like to incorporate your design to my parts washer however I’m not sure I’m capable without further details. I’m not sure if you plan on another video on the parts washer, but if you do I will try. Great modifications!
When I was first setting it up I used a 12v battery to test the pump, and then later on switched to an AC/DC 12v power adapter. I needed to get one with enough amps though, because the startup current on the pump was overloading a smaller power adapter
I only use it to wash parts that aren't greasy. Mostly I just use it for washing my hands after working on the car. But in reality it gets a lot more use when I'm grilling and washing off sand from the beach from people and toys and just really anything you would use a utility sink for. Just lucky that here in a warm climate we can have a big utility sink outside rather than taking up space in the garage.
Did you have any troubles with the nipples that c as me with that particular pump? I ordered the same one and the nipples were very loose when screwing them in.
Awesome project, I really enjoyed how thorough you were.

Cool nicest one I've seen. For real. Great video. To the point y I subbed
Awesome
Does the pump run off a car battery or a wall receptacle?

You spoke about your outdoor sink but didn't really discuss it other than saying it was an easy option. Are you using it as a parts washer also?

The nipples come loose. I had no problem tightening them down..I used Teflon tape to seal the threads.
