If anyone else was struggling because the audio track part isn't there, switch the Output Mode at the top from 'Simple' to 'Advanced'. :''') Thanks for the video!
Still can't find the VOD and won't let me enable it either.
@@TheOfficialMeMoRy Open streamlabs ---> settings ---> output --> Streaming, for vod settings, that's where I found it at least

if you don't log into streamlabs with your twitch account, the option won't be there! i just spent DAYS struggling with this!

Just streamed for 13 hours and didn't realise the new streamlabs obs update broke my VOD settings and now the whole 13 hr VOD can't be edited fr youtube without muting everything first fml, this video is a lifesaver, thank you so much.
This is by far, the easiest, detailed and short SLOBS tutorial I've come across. Well done, cheers.
Welcome to QUICK Tips ✌️
Just wanted to say thank you for the tutorial. It worked.
I was confused at first bc for some reason music was still coming through my stream on my VOD but it was super quiet, then I realized that my Mic was picking up the music barely.
This is the only video I could find that CLEARLY shows everything AFTER the update especially for a Noob like me lol, thank you so much !!!!!!!!
Glad I could help!
Thank you SO much!! The slobs new update had me really confused. Not only could I not get the Soundtrack by Twitch music out of my VODs I started having audio issues where my Live audio was different then my VODs. This updated tutorial video really really helped!

Hey just wondering, if i want to test what gets passed to my VODS, if i record something via Streamlabs REcord would that be waht the VOd would show? Or would music still be recorded via that, only for vod? I'm afraid to test a live/vod test, cuz i dont want to immediatelly get striked :c
If set up properly the recorded video will have 2 audio tracks. If you play it you won't notice a difference. The difference will only show in an video editor when inspecting the audio tracks.
Why don't you simply go-to the UA-cam creator studio and download a song from the music library and test with that? Those songs are usually free to be used and won't trigger any DMCA Takedowns.
@@GreenBoxMedia oh i see. tha tmakse sense, cuz when i record it it still shows. gotcha. i'm new to twitch/streaming so never heard about youtube studio but i'll def check i tout. thank you for the suggestion ill do that ^^ i understand that i just need to test with copyright free music to avoid that. which somehow went over my head haha. appreciate the quick response! thanks !!
fire thank you
No problem
Hey, sorry if this is a stupid question: I want to stream a game and play music (say on my Spotify) and not have the music in my twitch VOD, so far so good. But it looks like this "audio output capture" just keeps capturing everything that I hear (i.e. all my system audio) How exactly do I add a "Spotify-only" track to my SLOBS so that I can untick it for the VOD? Do I still HAVE to use voicemeter?
I.would recommend using Voicemeeter yes but you don't have to. You can also achieve it by using a hardware audio mixer where you take in different inputs. However Voicemeeter is the easier and more affordable option.
In the video description you should find a tutorial on how to seperated the audio tracks.
If you still need help after that check the discord: discord.gg/jUftzjEt
@@GreenBoxMedia thank you very much

I'm having an issue where my stream is fine, its playing game audio, music, everything. But when i publish the VOD theres no sound at all including game audio. Any suggestion? I followed your tutorial to the T, I even double and triple checked everything. I even made sure that the audio was to the right outputs.
Hey any fix ? Just went offline on stream and the whole audio is quiet, I now have fixed my audio settings just like the video but can I get my audio back ?
So if I wanted my music audio to not show up in my VODs OR recording what tracks would i select/deselect?
The one you defined as Twitch VOD Track.
ty you're amazing
Happy to help!
So how do you separate the Desktop audio from your Game / everything you hear? Because even though VOD is uncheck it still sees it as desktop audio (everything I can hear while streaming)
Check description
thank you so muvch
Happy to help
thank you sir
thanks for this video tuts, i have a question, is it normal that desktop audio play also in the aux channel?
Depending on your setup, yes it can be normal. However, you most likely have a miss configuration inside Voicemeeter that sends the B1 track over to the B2 as well.
I figured out that the twitch vod setting isn’t automatically turned on I had to turn it on to see the track options. Edit: I watched the full video and you showed what I was talking about probably should have done that first lol
Haha, you're welcome!
I'd like some help with a track issue I have:
I want my desktop to be in track 1 for recordings, and my mic to be in track two. but when I'm streaming, you then cant hear my desktop. how do I fix this?
By selecting different tracks for streaming than recording.
@@GreenBoxMedia i've been trying but it wont let me. i guess ill just keep experimenting with it.
So I have mine set up to only track 1, I can verify with monitoring that my music and my desktop are separate, but my VOD still has the music in it. It is only set to track one, my VOD is set to track 6 following this video, any ideas?
If your VOD track is set to track 6 you need to make sure your music is not on track 6. Also make sure the "vod track" feature in the settings is activated and the track 6 is set as vod track.
this helped me so much THANK YOU! quick question - I can remove soundtrack off my PC now and as a source ?
yes
So I have encountered a problem. I'm using VB-Audio Cable and I can listen to music while streaming and not broadcasting. But I can't listen to music and broadcast the same one if I put VB-Audio Cable as a source and It is set up so it won't save that track but it is still recorded. I wish I could explain better.
You probably want to look into Voicemeeter to send your cable output to multiple outputs like a stream and headphones.
my streamlabs doesn't have the setting "Twitch VOD.Remove Twitch Sountrack in ordert to enable this" even when advanced output settings are turned on?
Have you logged into twitch yet?
Hi there. I don't know if this is a silly question but will this work if you are first streaming to a custom ingest server?
If said custom ingest server is supporting two audio tracks, yes, using OBS Studio.
Using Streamlabs OBS only twitch will work.
I cant find the twitch vod track did streamlabs remove it? i dont see it in the output streaming tab.
I just checked on the latest update. Everything is still where it's supposed to be. This is a Twitch feature, so make sure you select Twitch as the streaming Service.
I have followed all the first tutorial about splitting tracks, I followed the second one about stream labs and now this updated one.. It has worked for the most part, however, in my twitch vods you can only hear me when im streaming the game audio is playing to stream and so is my spotify.. obviously I dont want the spotify to come through on the vods but the game audio (desktop audio) is not coming through. I need to find a resolution for this as now any clips that I wanted to make to post to social media doesnt have any game audio or my friends audio when talking in discord. otherwise, great tutorial!
First check it you send your game / desktop audio to the same Voicemeeter Track as your Spotify.
Second check if your game/desktop audio in OBS is going to the VOD Track.
I am having the same issue when it used to work fine. I think something they did made this not work anymore.
This same thing is happening to me, were you able to figure it out? ive been at this for 2 hours. :( still no game sound in my vod
@@GreenBoxMedia Hi! The same thing is happening to me. I followed the tutorials and i unistalled soundtrack by twitch cuz i thought that was the problem but its the same no game sound in my vod any other ideas? Greatly appreciate all the work you do!
Can you do this without downloading an audio splitter? Can I just add Spotify as a music source in Streamlabs and separate it as shown? Thanks for ur help
Not using Streamlabs, no. However, I am recording a video RIGHT NOW on how to do it on OBS Studio without any audio splitter. I expect that video to land in the next days.
Is the Soundtrack source still necessary in my slobs or can I / should I remove it? I'm not sure since it comes from the twitch soundtrack program which I already uninstalled
no, you need to uninstall it
I've been trying to solve the problem with wave link and streamlabs. Spotify audio is coming through Wave Link Stream channel and also the separated music channel, because of that even if you deselect 2 for VODs the music still coming through WLS channel. After following the steps it seems like a problem with the SLOBS ver. 1.11.2. I finally found a solution , go to wave link make sure to desable the audio for the listeners on the music (Spotify) channel, in SLOBS, sound properties, you have to select Monitor Off. I hope that works if you are having the same problem as mine
Thank you! So I separated my Spotify music it doesn’t play in my vod now, but only my gameplay does! My voice isn’t there at all and there isn’t an option to separate my voice it only gives me wave link system which includes music if I do record it any tips?
Check my elgato wave link video out for more info.
I couldn’t find any videos online about setting this up for SLOBS and just found yours after doing a bit of thinking to set it up on my own last night. I did everything the same way you’ve detailed here however I checked my VOD for last night’s stream and there’s no audio at all. Not sure what went wrong. I thought maybe I needed the plug-in mentioned in the video I watched before this but this video states the plug-in is no longer needed. Any insight?
The plugin is not needed anymore and has to be uninstalled (in case it got installed before) to work.
Have you by any chance not split your audio and just sent all audio only to the LIVE track?
Check the video description to learn how to split the audio on your system.
I kept the audio 1 and 2 enabled on desktop audio and i disabled the audio 2 (i choose audio 2 instead of 6) in the capture audio input but still doesnt work, i can hear the music in the vod
Have you made sure you have separated your audio channels using Elgato Wave Link or Voicemeeter first?
So I unfortunately have a VOD on Twitch but my voice track is missing, is there anyway I can retrieve the VOD WITH my voice or is it a lost cause?
Unless you also hit record it is gone. Which is the entire point of VOD tracks
I followed all the steps and im still getting music audio on my VODs is just sounds way lower but it's still there so I can't publish the VODs
, any help would be appreciated
Hi.two possible solutions
A) make sure your audio is split. Tutorial on that in the description.
B) Use OBS studio instead. ua-cam.com/video/0Lj5rkqSp48/v-deo.html
IDK if this matters or helps anyone else, I have been struggling for the longest time to get this tutorial to work for me and I had the issue where my VOD track option wouldnt stay enabled. after so much trial and error, i just tried setting up the streamlabs ID and NOW it is finally staying enabled and letting me select a vod track. Such a pain in the butt. I love your tutorials they have helped me set everything up....heres to hoping this finally stops my videos from gettin muted XD
That shit didn’t work🤣 u need to make a video for the enable twitch vid track thing cause it doesn’t tell me why it keeps disabling itself. The solution maybe simple idk cause it’s hidden
This method still works just tested. Maybe reinstalling the software or uninstalling twitch Soundtrack can help.
Do you still need voicemeeter and Soundtrack by Twitch with this new update? Great video! Thanks :)
You have to uninstall Soundtracks by Twitch in order for this to work.
You can either use Voicemeeter or any other software that allows splitting your Audio.
I did not see the option for twitch vod and realized my streamlabs wasn’t updated to the newest version smh, thank you!
Happy to help
I don't have the option to check twitch VOD in the streaming tab and yes I am in advanced. Any help?
Select Twitch as your streaming destination.
Unfortunately, I don't have this option in advanced output settings. Is there a reason why?
I just checked on the latest version. It has not changed. Make sure to follow all the prior steps in this video.
Hi i use an Elgato Wave 3 right now I have all my audio going to Streamlabs through Wave Link Stream do I separate all the audio tracks so I can disable music for the Vod or do I just make a separate audio capture select the music track from Elgato and then select that as 1? I hope the way I explain wasnt too confusing
I did a video about wave-like that might help you. our would need to have it as a separate input in order to only send it to live but not to VODs. ua-cam.com/video/qWtTZdtCR7g/v-deo.html
@@GreenBoxMedia I disabled the audio for the stream side of wave link then have the music only coming through the audio output capture I believe that would be the way if i'm correct
@@illest11 with that only you can hear the music that is correct.
@@GreenBoxMedia yes
how do you know what track is what? i can't figure out which track number corresponds to each input.
In OBS Studio you can define it yourself, in Streamlabs you need to look up the settings to know. it's usually 1 and 2. 1 for live
hi i followed all steps but for some reason when i click the twitch vod button on in settings it doesn't stick it turns itself off for some reason
Have you uninstalled the twitch soundtracks in case you installed it before?
You saved my life. Well, my vods at least.

When I'm live my audio sounds great. But now my vods are only recording my voice and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I've copied your settings and triple checked my tracks that need to be selected and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
Make sure all sounds you want in your vod go to the same track as your microphone
Followed all the steps brother and yeah music is playing on stream but then VOD is showing music and is fully muted.. Seems the music is still coming through..
looks like your using streamlabs obs 1.5.2 the current version is streamlabs desktop 1.112.5 ans there is no option for Twitch Vod Track? Any updated video on how to make music not be recorded into vod? I have VM Banana also
Make sure you have selected twitch as your destination.
will this still enable music to be played on stream but not recorded in the vod ?
If you enable the VOD track in the settings yes.
Why im sound in the record after stream like a robot or something bad happend to my mic? can anyone help me with that?
So to be sure. Let's say I have the exact same set up as you have with audio tracks 1 & 6, with 6 being my selected Vod audio track. If 6 is ticked off on the mixer menu like you have it then it will not be in the Vod, which is fine, However I'm confused by the fact that it says "stream tracks" next to it. Will live viewers still be able to hear the music when I'm live if number 6 is ticked to the off setting in the mixer?
Ok, let me try to explain this as clearly as I can.
In the Output Tab under Streaming (1:16) we set the Audio Track that is used for streaming (usually is 1).
All audio that is sent to Audio track 1 (1 is ticked in the "mixer"/advanced audio settings) will be heard on the Livestream.
The Twitch VOD feature allows us to send a different Audio Stream to twitch that is not heard LIVE but only appears on the VOD.
In this Video (2:04) we defined Audio Track 6 to be our VOD track.
All audio that is mixed / routed to Track 6 (box is ticked in the mixer) will be sent to the twitch VOD.
If you don't want to hear a source (e.g. Music) (box is NOT ticked in the mixer) it will not be sent to the VOD.
All this, however, requires that you have your Music on a separated/dedicated input source and not already mixed with your desktop audio.
Tutorial on that is in the description.
If you can use OBS studio instead of Streamlabs, there is also a brand-new method to do all of this here:
ua-cam.com/video/0Lj5rkqSp48/v-deo.html
@@GreenBoxMedia I have been using streamlabs and have followed all the steps and have my twitch vod track as 6 and only have my music selected on track 1. Somehow I still hear the music in the vod/recording.

@@jennielifts This sounds like you did not send desktop audio to track 1. If you need to learn how to seperate your music from your other sounds watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/dZkmpQ0npV8/v-deo.html
It was actually setup to track 1, I guess i didn’t check the box on Twitch VOD. But now it’s at 6. Before that, my recording format was set to FLV instead of MP4. And now, do I leave all the sources (Desktop Audio, Mic, Sound Alerts, Browser Source, Elgato Capture, etc) all checked. I know I have the stream tracks ready (1 and 6).
I’ll also tune in to the video you sent, I hope that can sort out my problem, since I’m still learning.
Don't know why, but I don't see a checkbox "Twitch Vod" under streaming. Recording tab has the audio tracks selected.
Make sure your streaming service is set to twitch. this is an twitch exclusive setting.
@@GreenBoxMedia hey mine is the same exact way. i am logged in via twitch and it doesnt give me the twitch vod box to check.
I know this is an older video, but I just came across your video. I'm looking into streaming and podcasting. I'd like to have an option where I livestream on Twitch and then get the audio of that stream (basically what I'm saying, perhaps some extra sounds or something), to post the audio to a podcast. Is that possible?
Like I said, I'm just starting out, so I have a LOT to learn about this all :)
I'm looking into using streamlabs for Twitch :)
Thanks for the help!
There are two relatively easy ways to do this.
Option A) while streaming you also record your stream and then later edit the recorded video.
B) You send your stream audio on your computer to a audio recording software using voicemeeter.
I'd go for option A.
@@GreenBoxMedia Thank you for your fast response! Can I do option A with Streamlabs or do I need to use additional software for that?
I think the thing I'm having trouble with is, how do I separate the music from people talking in discord?
check the video description for a tutorial.
There must have been an update very recently. As audio tracks aren't visible at all anymore. Is there a way to work around this? Or does this process no longer work for the newest version of Streamlabs OBS?
I updated to the latest version, and it is precisely where it is in this video.
@@GreenBoxMedia Could this be that this (what you recorded) is for the paid version of streamlabs desktop only?
I am not using the premium service of Streamlabs and the settings are still where I demonstrate during the video.
@@GreenBoxMedia thanks for clarifying that at least.. I'm still having the same issue as the OP
@@oggy112 Just to check, you did set the "Output Mode" to "Advanced" right?
Does this work with normal recordings too or just the twitch VOD?
This guide is only for Twitch Livestreams.
Recordings by default record everything. You however can disable recording the track which you send music to in the output settings

with this new settings how can i seperate audio tracks for recording.
By selecting the record-track just next to it.
I cant find that twitch VOD on mine idk why and im on the same version.
You need to be logged in to your Twitch Account on SLOBS.
how do i isolate spotify as the audio source i dont want being heard?
You can use third party software like Voicemeeter or use OBS Studio instead which has a built in method.
