Great show Joseph and Davey! I have to get more into the Kinks' deep cuts and your lists give me a good starting point. Hi Davey, nice to hear of you again. I was never really into "The Kinks", too "pop" and "English" for my tastes. Personally, I am more into "The Who" and "The Yardbirds" I think. Anyway, "Arthur or The Decline and Fall Of The British Empire" does it for me as it sounds rockier. I love every song in it. I also like their live "One For The Road" album very much, especially their definitive rendition on "Lola". So, my 3 best kinks songs are also their most familiar : 1) You Really Got Me (even if I prefer Van Halen's version) 2) All Day And All Of The Night 3) Lola (Live). After these three, come all the rest. Ray Davis is one of the greatest and influential songwriters of all time. And on the "singles" department, the greatest of them all. BTW, I'm still waiting for your BÖC albums ranking list.
@@Rocker_65 ~ Hi, Rocker! Thanks for commenting - and of course - watching. I did mention the One for the Road live album in regards to my number one favorite Kinks song. As for my BÖC album ranking, I’m 1/3 of the way through my notes. I plan to film it this week and hopefully have it up the following week. Thanks for your patience. I kept switching my ranking order, but l FINALLY decided to just leave it as it was. Cheers!
The depth of the Kinks catalog is undervalued with most classic rock fans. A band that went their own way. We all know the amazing influence on later bands and artists. Only saw them once to my great regret.
@@peterock4210 ~ Thanks for watching and commenting! Sadly, it seems that they’re almost forgotten about in America. SUCH a great band with many diverse, wonderful periods and sounds.
