I saw Speaker Pelosi whisper to V.P. Pence several times throughout the speech and I finally realized that she was saying "that's a lie." Also, while I'm not the biggest fan of Pelosi, I smiled when she tore up her copy of President Trump's speech of lies at the end.

@Creamapera Because you do that anyway. When you pay an insurance the risk is distributed among others. When you have a very expensive surgery others pay for that, not you. The only difference between this system and an European system is that private companies take a huge toll on the money base that you put in your insurance and pay out as profit. This is not happening in a European style social system. The theoretical benefit is that you pay lower monthly fees, because you distribute your risk in your own tier and among the members of the same insurance but that is the downside too: when you get older or it turns out that you have some serious disease, you will pay more, because you will be in a higher risk group. While your income also shrinks... This is the problem with the for-profit social security.
It is simple: your interest: get the best treatment for the cheapest price. The interest of the insurance company: get as much money as possible from you, and spend as little as possible on you, as possible.
So on the long run you don't pay for HIS healthcare, instead you pay for the insurance companies profit. NOT your own healthcare.

I'm 26 in the United states I pay 169$ a month for healthcare with priority health. It's a PPO meaning I can use it out of state. Heres the kicker though my copay is never higher than 10$ for a doctors visit and I get emergency care with only a 500$ deductible and Mental health coverage and eye care (no dental though). Why would I want to take another 10% increase in taxes for "free healthcare" when that would take an additional 5k out of my pay? I could use that for investing, 401k, IRA, or stocks. I don't see how it benefits me.
