For a few brief years John Robertson was the best player in the world. Without Clough and Taylor he wouldn’t have got a mention in the list of best players to play for Forest. When those two got it right - boy did they get it right. Derby and then Forest through to 1981 - simply breathtaking. The best managerial performances in the history of league football.

He was overweight and slovenly in appearance and I think he was on the transfer list along with Martin O'Neill. Clough and Taylor knew he had potential and brought out the best in him.
Clough was a whirlwind of character and charisma... Taking Derby to the top of the first division and then Forest to both the top of the first division and then Europe, twice, was a sight to behold. A football genius, for sure.
John McGovern was a hard case, some player, England’s glory years...!! Such a shame about Taylor and clough fall out, but I totally understand there stubbornness, that’s life 👍

Whatever sport you play or whichever field you might be in, you can get a lot of inspiration from Brian Clough.
Truly great character, his Forest side of the late 70s were the most solid, lightening quick from defence team I have witnessed in 50 years.
