I grew up with Forest from division two to first division champions. Went to Munich to see them win the European Cup and to Wembley more than once. I’m now a 64 year old grandmother, and I still love the club. But Cloughie, you were the best; you were reason for one of the happiest periods of my life. I thank you 🙏
I was there at the city ground when my Blades team condemned them down it was a sad day and 5000 plus Blades fans singing there's only one Brian Clough in Genuine respect I will never forget The greatest manager England never had Rip Brian x
I was there too and you were worthy (better) opponents on the day but magnanimous in victory. Acknowledging such a great manager (and player - check his stats - 241 goals for 270 matches played) with chants from away supporters was a lovely thing. Such moments of true humanity are rare in football and should be treasured. Thank you Andrew and thank you the other nameless thousands of Blades fans who showed their hearts upon their sleeves that day. Gx
i remember that day too..Blades in fancy dress and a mutual respect from both sets of fans of a great man... also singing " Brian Clough's a football genius".... great time for you, heartbreak for us

I grew up watching Forest go from (then) Division Two strugglers to Champions of The UK & Europe (Europe Twice). Great Manager. BUT JUST Look at his playing career - 251 goals from 274 matches. No other player has achieved that or ever will. Amazing career cut short by injury. Genius man. You are missed. Gx
I went to the city ground in march 1975 Manchester United beat Forest 1-0 if anyone had suggested that Forest would be champions of England in 3 years and Europe in 4 he would have been certified RIP to the best manager EVER

I honestly believe if Clough was given the England job he'd probably of won either the Euros or the world cup reason he wasn't given the job he was too outspoken shame really.
Those were the days of the 'Bungs' so ask those who had to slip a few grand sideways in a brown envelope to get a transfer deal over the line. The only straight and honest manager in the game was Bill Nicholson at Tottenham.
What's the opposite to genius Brian Clough ?..Gareth Southgate....thats why England will never win anything, RIP dear Brian...a complete one off and a winner....
@Fred So was it pre-arranged for Chelsea to be allocated the Forest home end? When does that ever happen normally? Do you know the year and score that day? Thanks!
I was at that game. For some reason the police decided the Chelsea fans should be put in there. It was a one off. They filled it with mostly nutcases. Maybe a good decision at the time.

I think the statue in Nottingham's Old Market Square was from the last moments of his last game, the Sheff Utd game on that day, end of an era

Cloughie was a genius no doubt about it. His personality was unequalled in the game. Should have been the England manager

The greatest manager England never had.

Peter Taylor the unsung hero

Peter Taylor doesn’t get enough credit. They were a duo in the most successful times.
Stunning save by Shilts at 10:56
Shilts up there with the best probably Englands best .
After the Leeds debacle who has the best reputation after: Don Revie , the Club or Brian Clough - no question Brian Clough.
the little dig at Sir Fergie was out of respect, i have no doubt
Shilts tried to emulate his hero Banks and succeeded
Good old Jimmy Saville, making dreams come true!

if you read Brian Clough's autobiography, the film portrayal of Peter Taylor is completely wrong.

08:35 - oh dear!
He didn't manage elite clubs. He turned clubs into elite clubs.
Leeds would have been European champions under Clough. They still haven’t recovered from the stupid decision to sack him.
it was never going to work, like Souness and Liverpool, he needed Taylor and Souness needed Smith
I love cloughie but when jimmy saville was on i switched it off.
