i saw a pumpkin with ‘brexit’ carved into it
scary
cheap as chips oyess 😂😂
It's happening on Halloween
Absolutely terrified right now.
Omg im gonna have nightmares 😭
everything is legal in New Jersey, especially vandalizing houses apperantly
A+ reference
Emerald Ryder I WISH I COULD LIKE THIS MORE THAN ONCE
And duels
Expecially duels
MissZombieNerd 😂 we were making a reference to hamilton
"If they don't give you candy you remember their house, and you do something the next day." "YOU MURDER THEIR FAMILY!!!" 😂😂 I love you so much Evan 😂
"you gotta be scary" Evan you were a pumpkin and pre-meme-Shaggy
Halloween in the UK, using a black tesco value bin liner as a cape! whilst wearing a cheap plastic skeleton mask from the pound shop in yer wellies in the piss rain!
Too true 👌🏻
what the fuck does this mean are those actual british words??? sorry extremely american
+Mya Weil what are you struggling with? Lol a bin liner is a "trash bag"
What are 'wellies in the piss rain'
wellies are boots you wear when it's raining and the piss rain is just the rain... Paddington Bear amirite
HE HAS THE SAME SHIRT AS PHIL
Yes!
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING!!!!
Logirl12 IIIIKKKKRRRR
He dressed up as Phil for Halloween one year and wore that top.
Logirl12 THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING
"The scream" is actually by a Norwegian artist named Edvard Munch
Thank you
Im from england and in liverpool we have mischief night but its one of the most policed time of the year because toilet paper and egg are softcore normal are rock and extreme are bricks and most poeple throw bricks through windows
Krystal Cheung eh thats a normal day in scotland
Yeah not kidding it would be bricks and rooftiles haha
i’m from there too and omg i remember when i needed to buy eggs for my nan on halloween and i got told i wasn’t allowed because it was illegal lmao
I'm from Middlesbrough and we have mischief night aswell
I live in Manchester and that happens every morning on my street at around 3 in the morning
"You gotta be scary on Halloween" says the guy that dressed up as shaggy
that haircut was terrifying
ha ha ha
maybe i'm just a bit of an art nerd but
the scream is not by van gogh
it's by edvard munch
that was bugging me just a little bit
who wants to gnaw on human bones OMG YES. I noticed it as well. I'm not an art nerd but it still bothered me
It’s also pronounced Vincent van goff
Same! I was literally scrolling to see if anyone else had noticed this.
Actually, it is pronounced Vincent Van Gogh like the ch from Loch ness like a Kh sound.
I would think that is common knowledge
I'm from south jersey and I was never allowed to participate in mischief night. my old neighborhood there was this house that decked out their garage like a haunted house and you had go to all the way to the back of it past decapitated heads and chain saws and what not to get the king sized candy bars. the dad and oldest son would chase people around the neighborhood with chain saws.
There was a house just like that in my neighborhood
I once got a bible for Halloween. It was weird.
Save it for bonfire night -- I mean, what?
My daughter came home this year with a ziploc bag of candy with a weird religious comic in it. I don't know where she got it, but I thought it was odd to pass out.
lmaooo
@@MommyOfZoeAndLiam That sounds like a fancy tract from Jack Chick. Those are highly appropriate for times when you want to scare somebody. I know.
I once got a Jill Stein pamphlet.
I live in England and I've never seen anyone come before Halloween
Katie P me too
Katie P I've had it done before and it's usually little kids if it's on a weekday because they need to go to bed early
Georgia Mortimer oh right, I thought they'd just come earlier on Halloween
Katie P same no one ever comes early
I've had them coming from as early as the 25th
I'm in Manchester btw
my best costume was when I went as a ceiling fan. I had a sign on my shirt that said CEILING and pom poms and a flag that said "GO CEILING"
a ceiling fan
I went with a bucket on my head wearing a suit with the buttons half down and the tie loose and when someone asked what I was I’d say a crackhead
I'm British and I don't know anyone who was allowed to go trick or treating. maybe because we I live in east london
Tia mia yes I live in a rough area so last year I wasn't allowed to go out with my mates
I live in North London nearly everyone went trick or treating so yeah I think that’s just your area, I feel bad for you it’s quite fun.
That would be why
I was never allowed either. My parents always said it was glorified begging so they just bought me sweets and we had a family night instead. I do the same with my kids now. I refuse to let them beg for something i can easily provide them with
@@CraftyWitch1990 it's a much better thing to do mate trick or treating just pisses people off its basically a night long ding dong dich (which is harassment) where people go around begging not to mention its dangerous. Luckily it doesn't happen a lot in my area.
I went to school on Halloween 👻 did anyone else????
The space taco yes 😭😭
Peas yes I did I am this year as well
Does anyone get it off?😪
Ihavesomanysubscribersbecauseofmylongchannelname my elementary school would do a costume parade, then the middle school never let us dress up for halloween, but now my high school even has teachers dress up as riddles or idioms
Yes
It's so funny watching these America vs. British videos and being just baffled at both sides. Like, I get that the US is big and has a ton of different cultures throughout, but none of that is my America.
pirateslife752 It's like me and the rest of the UK. Up North is so different to down here in the South.
pirateslife752 Evan has taught me that New Jersey and California are vastly different lol
Yeah xD
Jade Headley yes I was just thinking that lol
I'm from New Jersey and he's right with everything he's saying from where I live
Omg Evan as shaggy from scooby doo, thats so perfect!!!!
Also, "me and my friend are obsessed with Halloween" please mark we all know that's zoe
LOL
I lived in a small village as a kid. And everyone knew everyone. I would get bags and bags full of sweets. Sometimes I'd drop my three bags full off at mine or my grans and get another and continue to go out to get more sweets. I don't understand how I got so much considering it was a small village 😂 there wasn't many people to get sweets from but it happened haha also when we went to someone's house we would have to sing or tell a joke before getting the sweets.
(Scottish)
I totally traded candy like Evan!!!
In Scotland, when I was little, we had turnip lanterns. Also instead of trick or treating, we had guising (when you had to recite a poem or sing a song to get the sweets).
Lynsey Bailey YES I RELATE
I mean, if I remember right, Halloween started with you guys, right? So that means turnip-o-lanterns are the "real" way to go! :D
So you had to carol to get the treats? Am I understanding right?
Yes and I loved doing that as a child it was like I earned the sweets, I wish it still happened.
Where I live we say a rhyme “Trick or treat give me something nice to eat not too big not too small just the size of Donegal “ 😂
in my neighborhood there is a math teacher that was giving out math flash cards.
Abby Warring Teriffying
Ouch
I mean... I like math and encourage education, but... replacing candy with flash cards? What a bitch. (Now, if she was giving candy *and* flash cards, I take back what I said and I highly appreciate her!)
Egg him
That's honestly horrifying
Lol
We have Mischief ("mizzy") Night in Liverpool, UK too.
Martin Cosgrove and you wonder why people don’t trust scousers
Goddamit Evan! I'm up at 1.30 am and binge watching your American vs British videos and I CAN'T STOP.
I am from Britain and I have never noticed how much we say 'like' 😂
Yeah I say like all the time
I'm American and say like a lot
We say it a lot too it's ok
I would really hate then you if I met you irl lol
I remember when our teacher banned the word "like" and "basically" we struggled so much xD
fact: the scream is Edvard Munch not Van gogh
thank you
Thank you! Knowing this, it bugged me so much
Ellie-Anne Hart THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING
YES YES YES THAT ANNOYED ME CMON EVAN
seems like I'm not the only one who noticed 😂😂😂
In Michigan, The 30th is "Devils Night" to cause mischief and stuff, but recently in Detroit, they changed it to "Angels Night" to help fix houses and stuff.
Evan really needs to visit Derry for Halloween some year, we celebrate pretty much the whole month, but the week before is so fun with events and stuff
"Everything is legal in New Jersey" anyone else think of Hamilton??
Megan Dougherty Yessss
Megan Dougherty Yaaaaaaaaas
Megan Dougherty SAME
Best comment.
Megan Dougherty which Hamilton?
Omg I Remember at Halloween there was this house near me and we used to go every year because they used to have like tarantulas and lizards and a load of cool stuff it was awesome.
They like let us stroke them
Mark and Evan
Last year Halloween I was trick or treating with my friends and there was a figure with a mask on and it was making a snoring sound we thought it was a decoration but as we went down the steps of their front garden he jumped at us with a gorilla mask and omg it was so funny but so scary
Im irish so i spent October as a kid collecting wood then on halloween we'd trick or treat then have a bonfire
Smiley Gorman I spent my summers in the bog when I lived in Ireland
Yes! Then round 2010 when they banned bonfires you had to be careful like 4 Estates would make a whopper bonfire instead of 4 small ones x
+Charlene Williams. I'm from. Dublin but every year since I was about 5 (im 22) Wed go down to the bog of Allen to jump the bog cliffs then clean off in the canal haha x
+Charlene Williams. I'm from. Dublin but every year since I was about 5 (im 22) Wed go down to the bog of Allen to jump the bog cliffs then clean off in the canal haha x
Smiley Gorman That sounds really cool! I'd probably prefer the bonfire over the trick or treating tbh, but I've grown up with my parents telling me Halloween is just an American money-making scheme.
Evan: 'I always had to wear a scary costume'
Also Evan: "I was shaggy from scooby doo every year"
I was also hella lazy and low effort
Up here in Scotland they’ve got this event called ‘Ness Islands’ which is this promenade across these small islands on the river ness where a bunch of theatre groups dress up and do Halloween acts that are pretty good.
Going out with a Asda shopping bag and coming back with it full was the best lol
Wait candy corn aren't gummy?! I'm from England and I always assumed that too 😂 Can someone tell me what it's actually like please? 😂
Georgina Drake it's really difficult to describe. It's a solid piece of candy but it's not hard like a mint. It's almost waxy once you get into it if that makes any sense.
Georgina Drake it's like powdered sugar that you mixed with a little water and mushed into a corn kernel shape and left to dry. They're garbage.
WAIT CANDY CORN ARENT BOILED SWEETS WHAT
A soft, chalky kind of candy. Depending on what brand you get, some are more gummy-ish.
It's like eating sugary wax
I love your "professional" outlook on Trick or Treating, Evan. My kids have a system that we use each year. 1st, my son's birthday is on Halloween, so he figured out early on that if he mentions it at each house, he often gets extra (he is now turning 12, so he has had years of exploitation of this). 2nd, they use the smaller pumpkin buckets or bags and each has a large paper grocery sack in the trunk of my car marked with their names (we live in an area where it is often rainy, so we always take the car around). Periodically throughout the night they "download" into the paper bags and continue. They started this because they noticed if they looked like they had less candy, some people take pity on them and give extra, lol. We usually do themed costumes. This year is all Harry Potter! Can't wait!
Judi Whitacre Adopt me please
Im in Wales and it’s always raining and cold so the usual answer is “put a fucking coat on then” but you don’t want to ruin your costume so you willingly get soaked
YAYAYAYAYAYYAAYYAYA THIS COLAB!!!!!
OMG Amazing Phil's shirt
I'm from jersey and two towns over the township council let's everyone participate in mischief night and hand out eggs and toilet paper, the fire company will clean it up as well.
Also, my grandpas neighbor a couple houses down is a dentist and every year he gave us tooth brushes, I actually looked forward to it every year and like one year he just suddenly passed away and his wife just started handing out candy.. I was upset lol
Nixhole Berger
in michigan we call it Devils night and we'd hear about people getting mugged and stuff, I grew up not far from detroit. but if you tp'd someone's house you were considered a douchebag. so weird how people actually encourage it in new jersey?
+Vito vit no I did not say all of New Jersey, just a town a couple towns over from me,the rest of New Jersey does what they want but In the three towns I've grown up in they don't do it, but if you do somehow get tp'd it's usually by someone you know, not some random teenager.
I still think I had the best costume.... I was a vending machine one year
it started as gourds and moved to pumpkins actually
Elizabeth s #1 costume!!
then you could just be like " Push my buttons ;) "
Elizabeth s did anyone give you money for candy?
I LOVED this video so bloody much! These two together just makes me HAPPY! Would love to go to America for Halloween someday!! It looks immense! =D
I enjoy watching these videos because i used to live about three houses down from Evan! hearing him talk about stuff like creamy acres is just so funny!!
EVAN SHIRT IS PHILS SHIRT
maria iuspa OH MY GOD YOURE RIGHT!!!!
Someone else noticed!!!
maria iuspa YAAAAAAS
maria iuspa I AM RIGHT, IT IS PHIL'S NAPSTABLOOK SHIRT
I noticed that!
I remember a couple of years ago a house had run out of candy so they gave me half a pack of cookies and a Red Bull 😂😂
Imogen Nicholls omg, this one house i went to didnt have sweets but they knew my brother so they gave me and my sister an ice lolly 😂
Imogen Nicholls I got a box of chocolates once as the family didn't understand wat Halloween was and there was a family giving out pound coins
From a house last year they ran out of candy so gave me a box of raisins .....
Imogen Nicholls s
Someone literally gave us a handful of ice cubes once😭 -I'm from Australia.
XD im laughing so hard rn
Mischief night. I love it. I grew up in Michigan and we did the same thing but it was called devils night.
Yaaaaassss, Mark!!!
Fuck, I ship it. That's one more ship to the list lmao
Marta xx the list never ends.....
Omg make Dodie be Velma!

SushiRoll Speaks ILYSFM YOUR CHANNEL IS MY FAVE ABDHJDIEKSBCHD💕💕

SushiRoll Speaks ugh. Now I feel like Connie should be Daphnie! WHY?!! But srsly Connie would be amazing
Miss Kawaii Squishies Yes omg pink haired Daphne! 💖
I am only a million years late but YAY two of my fave creators wooooo
We also have mischief night in the north of the uk,much more extreme though like people putting fireworks through letterboxes
The scream is not from van gogh😂😂
Bianca Yeah that bugged me so much! It is Munch's "The Scream!
Edvard Munch
Thank god someone else noticed, the Munch fan in me screamed.
When you're from Scotland and go 'guising'. Also, I had to do something to earn my sweets. I mean you HAD to either say a poem/joke/sing etc haha
Erin The Adventurer I WISH that was a tradition. Just sing the entire Bohemian Rhapsody.
I hate having to go to the door because they always expect you to say something so you say "Trick or treat." and there's always that one adult that goes "It's called guising :))))" and you're just silently dying because you can't just fucking scream "GUISING!" when they open the door.
AlaskaTheNerd omfg so true :')
Wonder where you are from, I've never heard anyone call it that
Sophia Maguire I'm from the South West of Scotland and literally everyone calls it that haha :)
*in russian accent* You throw egg at me I throw egg at you
*throws hard boiled egg at six year old
helen faith *throws ostrich egg
in Canada, Thanksgiving would be in October so pumpkin carving and costume making could happen whenever but decorating or any social event would have to start after.
Time to get spoopy
SPOOKY SCARY SKELETONS
X AmazingLaceyIsNotOnFire X I LITERALLY LISTENED TO THAT EARLIER ON TODAY
Eve Hancock the t-shirt
PHANDOM
Eve Hancock hey m8 you're in the phandom
In the UK Oaps sometimes give out money like 50p's and pound coins
People used to give me like a million 2ps
Someone gave my friends £10 each!
William Mcmeekin where I'm from EVERYONE gives money, and they turn up all week.
William Mcmeekin
Once I was coming home from trick or treating and one elderly lady gave me a 10 pounds because she liked my costume.
My mates came to my house like the lady next door gave us a fiver, so I went to get a fiver but my mum saw me with a fiver and made me give the lady 19 pounds! 😥😥😥😥
Love your videos because you grew up in NJ and I'm in NJ so it's so easy to relate, like, creamy acres and fright fest 😍
I’m from Liverpool in England and we have mischief night
I live in North Carolina and we have an amusement park on the border of North and South Carolina called Carowinds. During Halloween time it becomes Scarowinds and I literally love it so much!!! There's the usual roller coasters plus spook trails and haunted areas. The sliders are my favorites though. They're actors who can jump out at you but they have knee pads and shoes that spark so they slide in front of groups to scare them. Oh yeah, the entire park is filled with actors that are allowed to freak you out any way they can. Obviously you can buy necklaces that tell them not to scare you, but most people just accept it.
Julia i live in South Carolina in fort mill, near Carowinds and I love it too when it is scarowinds and the winterfest too.
Love Scarowinds
You have the same T-Shirt as AmazingPhil
thanks I was unaware
Evan Edinger were you serious there or was that a sarcastic comment
100% not at all sarcastic definitely totally not sarcastic nope not one bit
embrellla nooooooo not sarcastic at allllllll
Cutiepatootie 33322 I KNEW I RECOGNISED IT FROM SOMEWHERE I JUST COULDNT FIGURE IT OUT
Oh man, I could talk about this subject for HOURS! I used to work for an events company as a zombie at The Vaults and in the abandoned underground tunnels at Waterloo Station. It was so creepy, I loved it! I've also worked at Tulleys and Thorpe as a scare actor over the years. Halloween is definitely my favourite time of the year, but America does it so much better.
Yeah i used to make out like a bandit on Halloween because my neighbors down a few houses from mine would rent like a trailer or whatever that they would drive all us neighborhood kids around in. We would get so much candy that even tough most of us used pillowcases we'd have to stop back in with our parents in our cul-de-sac to drop off candy so we had enough room for more. This was compounded by the fact that our neighborhood gave out good candy. Like, people would come, and still do come to trick-or-treat in our neighborhood because the candy was so good.
I once got some bin bags at Halloween
Halloween goals
The bin bag cape, sums up Halloween in the UK
Lottie Lafferty get a bin bag dress
boom!!
be trash for Halloween
Ally :0 no when somebody asks if they are trash say you went as Donald Trump
Did anyone else get raisins?
I did one year I think.
This weird woman on our street gives out raisins and skips .
Rhea basile-maslowe you live a sad life
Rhea basile-maslowe yeah
I always went to one woman’s house because she always had a bunch of sweets but i think she hated me because she gave my friend a bunch of chocolate and then she always gave me raisins
I'm from Scotland and trick or treating means that you do a trick ( talent) for a treat.
Children in Scotland used to go guising, and were called guisers.
I always had people in my neighborhood that had mini haunted houses in their garages on Halloween. Fun times
Edvard Munch painted The Scream..
?
Me and my siblings used to trade candy! Twix was always worth the most.
We have theme parks that open at Halloween and they have Halloween props to set the mood and people come in costumes. The theme parks close late like 8pm or 9pm
I'm from Iowa, and we trick or treat the night before! So interesting to see the differences
Best birthday collab ever! It would be a PUNishment for someone to never watch this :)
ugghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
i like you you are a good egg
CANDY CORN ISNT GUMMY WTF why did I think that omg
Laura The Bee same wtf
I'm from the uk and I thought it was gummy😂
candy corn is a really difficult consistency to describe. It's kind of like fondant icing for cakes but a little more solid. It's like this weird, grainy, waxy texture.
I always describe it as having the constancy of a semi melted soft mint
has any one heard 18+ haunted houses
We have Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando Florida at Universal Studios. It’s really expensive and it lasts for the whole month of October.
Aww I remember mischief night. My teachers used to warn me all the time and say not to go out. Now in my area we don't really do it anymore:(
EXCUSE ME DID EVAN SAY THE SCREAM WAS FROM VAN GOGH LIKE NO IT'S BY EDVARD MUNCH
Awesomeness nice profile pic 😉
Jasmine Sayer yøurs is pretty cøøl tøø |-/
Same.
Jasmine Sayer I know, my art nerd brain was so pissed!
I've gotten a potato for Halloween one year 😂😂
Samantha Marie That is so bad it's awesome.
My friend is allergic to chocolate so he just got an apple
I once went to knock on this families door and a little boy lived there and he ran and opened the door to me.
He had just gotten out of the bath and was naked 💀
I was *so* with Evan on Reese's PB cups. Absolute gold. And I like candy corn too.
I have a pumpkin carving contest every year on the Saturday before Halloween and then we bake pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin guts
Evan you are a true phandom member!!! You have Phil's ghost shirt!! Xoxoxoxo
Evan has had it longer than phil...
Beth Norman He is the real Phil Trash #1
Unless Phil is Evan trash #1!
:P
Babytherat **plays illuminati theme tune**
Beth Norman Dan and Phil are my faves! But it's not 'Phil's shirt' it's just a shirt! I can't imagine all he wants to see is us comparing him to Phil! 👻
Am I the only one who kind of ships Mark and Evan?
I ship them tbh
Heart Eyes Howell I ship EVERYTHING
Em Silver Same
Heart Eyes Howell phandom wassup!
Heart Eyes Howell same and Pham!
One year I went trick or treating in the UK (im from Ireland and was on holiday there) and my sisters and I got a combination of worthers originals, a box of Rice Krispies and soap!
i'm from northern germany, and while nowadays some kids do go trick or treating, we have a tradition to go around on the 10th or 11th of november and we had to sing a little song to get the candy (saint martin's day is the 10th)
YOU AND PHIL HAVE THE SAME GHOST SHIRT OMGG
Emily Corneail yass
\ 보고 싶다 \ // the phandom has taken over the internet 😂
YIISSSS
The Phandom is here!!!
//\ 보고 싶다 \ this is why I love the phandom 😂😂😂
I'm from New York State and I had never heard of Mischief Night before I met my friends from New Jersey. It's not a thing in the rest of the US
omg Phil Lester has the same ghost t-shirt sooo cute
The day before Halloween my family often do last minute prep while I watch Tim Burton documentaries, and my friends and I always try to get the party sized chocolate bars and we hate receiving anything different.
"scream"
"oh, you mean from Van Gogh?"
omg
Edvard Munch
I'm from Michigan and we always had Devils night which is very similar to your mischief night.
Haylee Tincher We have devils night in Canada too.
Glow Worm Really? I live in Canada and I've never had anything like that. I wish I did.
We have that in Michigan? Do you live in Detroit or some big city or the UP or something?
But seriously, how Evan said "that's a bit rough" was the cutest thing ever
I go to Salem every year on Halloween. Definitely a lot of fun! ☺️
Why did you not show us a picture of you as the pumpkin? You said it and I was just waiting for the photo
I never asked my mom to find it sadly
Evan Edinger tweet it
the only people that I know that give out toys for Halloween are my grandparents
rubber bugs and plastic spider rings usually
EpicPinkCreeper
Don't you get plastic black spiders in the bowl when the people offer you the sweets!
THANK YOU EVAN EVERYONE AROUND ME HATES CANDY CORN AND I LOVE IT (I used to get juice boxes from this one house 😂)
i just realized this was uploaded on my birthday
The scream painting was Edvard Munch, not Van Gogh lol
I might just put a costume together quickly, go a couple doors down, get some candy, and come back to my house.
Luis R. I only go to one house 'cause they give diet coke and dorritos
I went trick or treating one year and my best friend, my sister, and I got a box of Macaroni and Cheese!!😂
I'm from Texas and we had a form of Mischief Night as well. We didn't really call it that, but a lot of kids would egg and tp houses the night before Halloween
