      megan jones Except that the US isn't a freaking Island like the UK and Japan. Also many crime related incidents on the US are done by illegal guns which are untraceable that's why you never see mass jailing of gangs or criminal organizations which perpetuate the killings by tracking the serial number.
      This is why I hate liberals, They take our bill of rights for granted. Trump needs to trade, Liberals get out and we bring out Europeans that want some freedoms they don't have and aren't so deep with the handout entitlement.

      Japan has lowest crime rate among major countries today..
      in 2017or 2016, just 1 victim was related to guns in the Nation.

      masaharu aiba Mainly because they are mostly a homogeneous society. If you look at the stats, the more homogeneous a country is, the less crime there are. Besides, they have one of the highest suicide rates in the entire world.

    • @elinevve
      @elinevve 7 років тому +3

      Sunniva Joø hahah it's all a lie. no, but seriously i'm norwegian and those lists are most likely wrong. an alternative list came out that included what the people of the country thought and norwegian was like nr 10 or something.

    • @creativename3256
      @creativename3256 7 років тому +9

      Elinesof I don't think they are entirely wrong :) It just depends what they are measuring, but I guess there's some chance of the happiness-measure to be wrong, since it's just a group of people from each country and not the entire population.
      However, I would say that our free healthcare and education help massively compared to other countries, no matter how it's rated.
      Edit: In addition, it's not always a good thing including what people think of their country. For instance that Americans an North-Koreans are raised to be super patriotic and believe their country is better than all other countries, instead of knowing their strengths and weaknesses.
      (Antar det ikke er så relevant for listene du så på, men synes likevel det er interessant :) )

    ok, I really feel like it needs to be brought up that America does have tea, and no I don't mean the cold stuff with loads of sugar. We have the actual tea bags that you pour into a lil mug. It's just not super popular. Most of my friends drink the cold stuff and I'm the weird one who likes the hot stuff, which would ofc be the other way around in the UK. I just wanted to point that out lol cuz we got it. It's in stores and restaurants and stuff, it's just no one likes to drink it as much as the cold stuff around here. Also, it depends on where in the US cuz I've heard that in New England they don't have the cold stuff, which means they probs have the hot stuff. Wow I said stuff wayyyyyyyyy too much here lolol

      // Keziah // I think they meant that America has tea but it's not the same as British tea. Whenever I see tea that the Americans make it's always clear and dark brown (as if you're making coffee) and they always leave the tea bag in it. Do it like that and it will definately taste different. British tea is suppose to look a light brown (or a bit darker depending on how much milk you add) and no tea bag sat inside. Actually based on how clear American Tea is I'm guessig they don't add milk to theirs which creates the light brown colour??

    Not to be rude or anything but it's not really fair to base the whole of the UK off of what Connie, and sometimes Evan, say because they both live in London and have probably never ventured to other parts of the UK (just a guess, correct me if I'm wrong). So really they're only talking about London which is very different to the rest of the UK. It's kind of like someone who lives in Scotland and never leaves but does a video with a title that compares the UK and the US. But they're only representing Scotland. If they left Scotland and travelled to other places in the UK then you would have had a pass at doing a video like this. Because you've seen more than one part of the UK. I've seen it all the time from British People and foreigners who live in London (they're ALWAYS from London) and do these videos. Everything they said was what they experienced in London but they based the whole of the UK off of one place. Sorry if that sounded horrible I didn't mean for it to be but I just see this all the time and it really irks me. The whole of the UK doesn't have Black Taxi's. I've seen them in Manchester but we also havee normal cars that have Taxi logos stuck to them. 😕

    • @hanzib31
      @hanzib31 7 років тому +6

      baybeehannah19 they regularly go to other parts of the UK...they live in london but it doesnt mean they havent visited. Plus, black cabs are across the vast majority of the uk. They are public taxis. The normal cars are private cabs. They are different things. Private cabs cant be picked up on the st, you have to book them for insurance. They have them in London too... black cabs are just the specific UK cabs that other countries dont have!

  • @KeriJo12
    @KeriJo12 7 років тому +15

    Their comments on American jobs and days off only really applies to minimum wage jobs in the retail or food service industries. I work a full time job in an office and have 7 paid holidays a year, and accumulate 10 hours of PTO every month up to 200 hours. And you don't lose it at the end of the year! 401K, profit-sharing. Seriously, don't trash American job benefits. In the right job, they rock!

    • @DewAlam
      @DewAlam 7 років тому +15

      KeriJo12 7 paid holidays for a f/t job doesn't sound like a lot. I work f/t in the UK and get 26 days off + public holidays. We also get paid time off for illness, paternity / maternity and other unexpected needs - plus government and employer pension contributions. I think overall workers in the UK have more benefits than the US and Japan. It's not the case with all jobs and workers but generally we have a good balance of work benefits and at least culturally a f/t job doesn't mean our lives are dominated by work, which is the norm in Japan.

    • @rihana21x
      @rihana21x 7 років тому +1

      I only work part time in the UK as I'm a student and still get 10 paid holidays.

    • @deadshepherd666
      @deadshepherd666 6 років тому +1

      You might as well look at averages and the average number of days of PTO in the US is 10 days or two weeks. Britain and Continental Europe average 4 to 6 weeks. 25% of Americans have zero PTO. 25% have less than 10 days. That's not just minimum wage jobs but many many jobs in the middle and lower middle class salary ranges. It IS a serious problem (I think) and a clear difference between Europe and US.

    I've always been surprised how in USA people expect you to be independence by the age of 18. You just finished school and you have to have a car, live by your own, even have a job. In Chile, where i live, it's more kinda like Japan. most people live with their family until the get married (if they do it) and sometimes they continue living in the same house. I think one of the primary reasons is because its cheaper that way, all the people living in the house share the expenses (in theory) it's easier.makes sense , too, since the live in this country is quite expensive and the average population is on the middle class (middle lower actually)
    Nowadays is a bit more common to see people around 25 or so to start living alone, leave their parents house an have their own independence, but at 18 no, not at all. Again, you just ended school by that age, you have no experience, no money. you cannot start a live without help from others.

      I think that's more a white American thing. I'm not entirely sure other cultures, but asian american will often live with their parents into their 20's or even beyond that.

    A lot of people in Japan stay in their childhood home or move back after going to college to take care of their parents and to just inherit the house itself. My moms brother(my uncle) did that. At a time, there were four generations of people living in that house:my great grandmother, my grandparents, my aunt and uncle, and my cousins.

    • @reekoo3034

      Nina Kato not necessarily, some parts of japan has had gay marriage legalised such as shibuya which has taken a good step towards the lgbt community and ideals. I don't know too much about it though but I'm in japan at the moment and I am Japanese as my family. also, japan isn't as anti-gay as much as other countries so I believe it is very close to having the country, gay marriage legalised in a few more years :) (not to mention there is a LOT of yuri and yaoi ;))))))))

    Ok but Japan is by far the best place out of these three. I'm half Japanese and I've been to Tokyo probably like ten times or something. Seriously, I know my way around Tokyo better than I know my way around the most well known city in my state, which I live only an hour away from. But seriously, Japan's subway system is amazing, everyone is so nice and polite, and it is so safe! Like, I have seen young children on their way home from school on the subway, alone! The traditional culture is still everywhere, and the food is the best. Gah, I love Japan so much! I may be a bit biased, but I don't care.

      justafan17 really? It depends on what you want to focus on ..every country has issues and I consider myself blessed to live in the United States ..
      Japan has a very high cost of living and an obscene work culture where one is expected to work til late at night ..plus they have one of the worst immigration policies in the world ..they do not like others to get citizenship extremely hard
      Everyone has a personal preference but for me to complain about living in a first world country with relative freedom is asinine .ghere will always be someone who something better ...American doesn’t do healthcare well and our politics r concerning but watching brexit negotiates and the rise of the far right In Europe is also concerning ...
      Grass is always greener on the other side ..
      Didn’t Europe have two world wars in the last century ? I believe staying and making things better

    Why do British people get so heated about tea (pun intended)?? Like, it's just a drink. People in America tend to prefer it cold. Nothing else to it. (Just wanted to add that I'm asking this with all due respect to British people. I don't mean to be rude, I'm just confused)

    • @TheDustyForest
      @TheDustyForest 7 років тому +16

      Because the vast majority of people drink it at least some of the time, and so everyone develops a very strong opinion on what it should taste like. It's the same as how a lot of Americans and Canadians think bacon MUST be crispy, or that foreign McDonalds tastes worse because it has much less fat in it etc.

    • @start-a-riot
      @start-a-riot 7 років тому +4

    • @start-a-riot
      @start-a-riot 7 років тому +4

      so what. lemonade was first invented in medieval egypt, way before carbonation was even a thing. Whatever, all I'm saying is people like different drinks differently and there's basically 0 reason to argue about it

    • @start-a-riot
      @start-a-riot 7 років тому +7

      Maybe not in places like mcdonalds or whatever, but good, american iced tea does contain tea (also it's mostly people in the south call it tea. I live in New Jersey and whenever someone says tea they are referring to hot tea. We normally call the cold stuff iced tea or sweet tea)

    • @Babytherat
      @Babytherat 7 років тому +3

      @TheDustyForest, I don't think I've ever heard an American say that America has the best McDonalds. They complain about how much it sucks here, actually.
      But, I'll give you crispy bacon. Crispy is best bacon.
      (Also I'm an American who loves hot tea and dislikes iced tea/sweet tea. I don't have an opinion about other people drinking it though. ;] )
