PHEW! So glad I finally finished this one. I've had a bit of an identity crisis with my channel lately. I LOVE Reylo, but I'm not great at breakdowns and the scope of this project was really getting to me. As you know, I love editing, but I'm still not great at it, so along the way I've been learning a lot of new techniques and trying to become more efficient at making videos. I'm just not good at churning out videos frequently as some UA-camrs do. I know there are probably a few lines and shots I should have better covered, but this video needed to be RELEASED. Next time I'll have a better plan for TROS. I still had a lot of fun making this video! Anyways, enough about that. Here are some freebies for ya If there's one thing I DO NOT like about Reylo in this film, it's the time gap between TFA and TLJ. I don't think it makes any sense for it to be so quick after TFA. The whole trilogy takes place over the course of about a year and that's absolutely insane. A bigger time gap would have better served their story. I also really don't like that Rey's lineage was retconned in TROS, because this severely undermines Rey and Ben's conversation in the Throne Room. It makes Ben sound like he's lying now and I don't believe he was being disingenous. I really feel like TLJ was the film that made me a REYLO. As much as I entertained the idea in TFA, it felt very unlikely with how Rey left Ben in the snow like that. But Rian Johnson knew how to take some rough material and make a good story from it, at least the parts of Rey and Ben. I have a lot of issues with TLJ, but there's no doubt the best stuff is with Rey, Ben and even Luke. So what about you? When did you become a Reylo? What's your favorite moment between them in The Last Jedi? Comment below and share with me! Also, I apologize about the recurring reverberating fart edits, but dude.... I love that sound effect bahahaha AND YES I know this video is WAY TOO LONG but... maybe it's still worth your time lol. Watch it in small doses lol
As I watched the entire trilogy I was definitely interested in their relationship as rivals but when they kissed in TROS it felt like it came out of nowhere for me. That was until I watched the trilogy back and I realized I had been a reylo the whole time without even knowing
I think when Ben says he is a monster I don’t think that’s him trying to validate himself. Instead I think that’s him saying “you’re right, I’m such a horrible person and it’s too late for me” instead of “I’m more powerful than you; I’m a dark lord you don’t want to mess with”
I think Snoke/Palpatine kept saying they wanted to kill Rey bcs they knew that would motivate Kylo to turn her far more than if they told him that directly. Kicking in the protective side
When Rey saw Kylo in the 5th Force bond she saw Ben first immediately she recognizes Kylo. Later we see Rey with the broken lightsaber in her hands a clear symbol of her broken heart. Then she sees Finn taking care of Rose, I am shure that what Rey's was desiring was to have Ben at her side taking care of the burn on her shoulder. This remains me an old song "only love can break your heart and only love can mend it again". Kylo's tainted love broke Rey's heart and only Ben's love can mend it again.
The more I watch the more I see and understand. In Rae Carson's novelization Kylo tells Rey before he invades her mind again that he doesn't want to do it, that he would be as gentle as possible but he would get that map. I think Rey has seen a lot more in his mind that we know. He was so busy trying to find things about her that he missed it completely until she said he was afraid etc. then he freaked out when he realized what was happening. How did she know how to control the guards so they'd let her go? You brought up a lot of the things I was thinking of, great job!
Congratulations a very good job. I think that everyone missed the meaning behind the shirtless scene. His shirt is black but his skin is white a clear symbol that there is still light in Kylo. When they touched hands we can see a tear flowing from Rey's eye a signal that Rey is sensing how Kylo is abused by Snoke.

So Ben and Rey are closely similar, a copy or replica of each other. According to popular believe they are soulmates, and their destiny is to be together. Just remember when Kylo said to Rey "we are a dyad in the Force, two that are one ". Now let see the sentence "Kylo Ren is Ben Solo ". Reordering letters again we obtain "Kylo Ren is so noble ". This means that there is at least a spark of light in Kylo. Don't forget when Leia told Han "there is still light in him. Even Kylo admitted it: "I feeled again the pull to the light". Knowing the relation between Rey and the light perhaps Kylo is referring to Rey. I hope you enjoy it. Your comments and critics are welcome.
Many people is confused by the fact that Snoke promoted the Force bonds between Rey and Kylo, because at the end they felt in love and it makes no sense. But the purpose of Snoke is to Kylo under the hardest test he ever have confronted to reject love, not by words or oath but by facts, this means by killing Rey. He could do it feigning a desire to kill Rey, that was the only way to fool Snoke.ì

Kylo saw that Rey heard something behind her, Kylo could only see her but he saw by her reaction to Luke coming out the door of the hut that there was someone else there. He guessed it could have been Luke because Kylo knew Rey was looking for Luke. So it was more of a supposition that it might be him. Rather than him seeing anything other than Rey. After the ret-con of revealing that Rey is a Palpatine, I look at Kylo telling her she came from nothing in two ways. The first is a little manipulative. He said o kill the past, so he's hoping to try to get her to sever all ties so all she has left is him, hence why he tries to get her to believe that she comes from nothing, but it's also his way of letting her know that he loves and wants her despite her having no real importance, and he also didn't want her knowing she's a Palptine to affect her decision, he wanted her to choose him on her own. The second is that he knows that her finding out that she's a Palpatine would crush her, especially at such a pivotal time. He's both trying to spare her from that truth (for the time being anyway until she can handle it), and also so she won't run from her lineage, and by extension the Dark Side since he wants to turn her. He eventually tells her in TROS because not telling her backfired, and she's in a better place.
I'm fine with these explanations, but I hate the retcon nonetheless. It reduces the significance of their TLJ throne room conversation, a moment that I thought was good development for Rey.
@@JonHandEntertainment A bit about out of context: I have always wondered what if Rey KNEW she was a palpatine from the beginning and she was trying to keep the galaxy from finding out? How would that have played out especially since Kylo Ren finds out?
@@JonHandEntertainment Yeah, rather than copying the "not knowing your true lineage" arc that was already done in Episode I-III, Rey does know but the characters and heck even the audience doesn't know until revealed.

i love reylo with all my heart and i wish there was more continuity between tlj and tros. out of the 3 sequel films, i’d say that tfa is the best overall but not actually my favourite. this is mainly because, for me, tros holds a sentimental value. it was what got me into star wars, reylo and my love for adam driver (by extension most of the cast too). when tfa came out i wasn’t particularly interested in starwars and understood abt 2 things relating it, that ppl had lightsabers and that luke skywalker was cool according to my dad- in my defence i was 9 at the time. however, tros is probably the worst out of the 3 in terms of inconsistency and the amount of stuff shoved in to please ppl. apart from the obvious big reylo scene towards the end, none of the other scenes held as much depth as they did in tlj, even tfa to an extent. if ben solo lived i probably would feel slightly differently as it would be a gateway into something more, a REAL beginning to reylo as a proper romance. it’s literally enemies to lovers but we weren’t given any chance to be happy abt them becoming lovers. “yay ben solo is redeemed!! yay they finally kissed!! oh no ben’s dead i’m gonna cry” i’m not saying that there hasn’t been at least hints of romance from the beginning, but up until ben’s redemption they were still enemies and on opposite sides of a war regardless of their feelings for one another. also when i rewatched tlj after getting into starwars i was screaming at them to kiss in the elevator scene. like u said in the video, kylo/ben clearly wanted to kiss her and i getttttt why he didn’t but still. anyway moving on (from here on i’m kinda just spewing ideas of how to fix reylo-related parts of tros) i completely agree with what u said in the comments, not just abt the timing messing things up, but also the fact that rey is a palpatine (i’ll get to this in a sec). in my opinion, the sequels should’ve been over a longer period of time. there could’ve been appropriate time jumps in between movies and even time significant jumps within the movie itself. this isn’t necessarily the best solution but it’s a solution. rey being a palpatine is cool and all but she could’ve just been a “nobody” all along, making what kylo/ben said in the throne room not disingenuous. they could’ve still been a dyad in the force. if u think abt it, every jedi lineage has to start somewhere. rey could’ve been chosen by the force and palpatine (if still included in this film) sensed a disturbance in the force (aka her birth) and still sought out to find her bc she’s clearly rly rly powerful. i’m not entirely sure how her parents would protect her from him and end up dying as they wouldn’t know abt him, but if the writers can somehow make up seemingly logical reasoning behind palpatines return, then surely they could make it make sense. another thing, snoke essentially being palpatine has to go. snoke is snoke, snoke is evil and the source of ben’s suffering (for the most part). i’ve read the books recently and i always thought that snoke was just lying abt bridging their minds, but apparently not (..?). i suppose that’s more down to the plot holes created by tros than a fault in tlj. i’m not entirely sure what would’ve happened if ben lived after the kiss with rey. would rey have taken him back to the resistance base with her just for him to be arrested? would they have flown off together into the sunset and lived happily ever after? i don’t know. i’d like to think that it would all end up well for them but i rly don’t know. killing ben off probably seemed like an easier option for the writers as they wouldn’t have to deal with the repercussions of ben solo trying to redeem himself to quite literally anyone else but rey. rey is the only person to rly see his struggles and know why he ended up as kylo ren. i think that they wanted a happy ending where everyone could hug and mourn over the losses they faced during the war and i did like this, it was heart warming to know that their pain was coming to an end. however, there could’ve been a tv series or movie abt ben solo making amends for his mistakes and trying to become a better person in the eyes of the resistance. i also want adam driver back as ben solo bc i love him. btw this is not my original idea, i’ve heard it multiple times from ppl in comment sections, youtube videos, tiktok’s, etc. there’s my reylo rant over. i definitely have more to say but i wont bc i can go on for a loooooonnnnngggg time. it’s one of the main reasons why i love reylo, i can pick it apart and still be obsessed at the end of the day loved the video pls make more 👍👍
wow what a rant! lol but I loved it! Thanks for sharing your heart about Reylo! I would have been fine with the film ending things on a more ambiguous tone than what they did, honestly. At least leave it open for some kind of future with Ben! Even exile would have been better than this....
Here’s my thought on Ben admitting to destroying the temple. He already thinks he’s killed Luke and I believe the other students believed he did too and therefore believed he also set the temple on fire. I think the other students chased him out and Ben tried to defend himself and that ends up killing the other students. Ben is so ashamed of his actions that he leaves and vows to never come back. I think Snoke took advantage of Ben’s vulnerability in that time and told him he could have a family, he could prove himself worthy, that he can make up for what he did with the dark side. After Ben realizes how much of a monster he had become due to falling into Snokes trap he might as well burned down the temple. Why would he tell the truth and paint himself as a victim when he knows fully well what he’s done? That’s just my take on it :)
It was supposed to release with the 12 Days of Christmas video drop, but family illness got in the way. It will be dropped in the next couple of weeks :)
In my opinion the only thing well done in this trilogy was the romance between the two of them, if they had developed that since 7 so that in 9 they would have a closure together. These would be things I would change: Kylo would not kill Han, because honestly I think that thinking in a more realistic way that a girl would never fall in love with you after she watched you kill your own father, another thing I would change is that Rey would be a student in Luke's jedi order, showing that Rey and Kylo had a great friendship and "passion" since that time and that out of compassion for her at the time Rey was saved by Kylo when Dnoke and the knights of ren attacked Luke's jedi order, thus being shown that Luke found Rey and took her to Jakku so that Snoke would not found no force sensitive, thus explaining why she had visions and why kylo recognized her in that final battle of 7, thus being a way for this romance to seem more realistic and able to happen since since childhood they knew each other and kylo was able to save your life
I agree with a lot of this. I haven't ever been a fan of Ben killing his own father, especially Han Solo. The culmination of their relationship should have been far more organic and planned out much better.
In the throne room scene the way I see it he wasn’t trying to put her down or being an ass toward her he one of those people who try to be nice or compliment people but it comes out wrong lol I know people like that in real life plus he not the nicest person in the movies plus he has no filter tell it how it is soo idk what people expect but I wouldn’t be lying if I had this face😑when he was proposing to her lol but he didn’t mean any harm he just one those people lol
I believe the reason why Kylo/Ben had such a bad case of foot in mouth disease is two-fold. 1) He is descended from Anakin 'I hate sand' Skywalker. Can anybody forget the bad dialogue from the prequels? Especially whenever Anakin was trying to woo Padme? Enough said. 2)He may be the son of Han 'scoundrel/lady's man' Solo but unfortunately was sent off to Uncle Luke's monastery at a time when young men (and women) are learning how to interact with members of the opposite sex for the first time in a sexual way and oftentimes you step on the toes of your dance partner and they on yours during the mating dance process. I don't think Luke's jedi academy could teach the things that only Han Solo could have and should have taught Ben
Your video is so much fun! And I loved how you detonated the criticisms of anti reylos. More than 40 years of saga and NOBODY called mental invasion rape, but it was enough for kylo to do it in a female protagonist who "oh it's damnable". Since Anakin, Obiwan and Mace invade a guy's mind in clone wars the three of them at the same time, making him scream and suffer...And then? Is it gang rape? I didn't see anything on TFA, it was TLJ that made me become reylo, but unfortunately the way it ends feels like a stab in the back. Such a deep intimate and symbolic deserved much more than a kiss followed by death. Rey and Ben could heal the force by extinguishing jedi and sith by founding a new dyad-based doctrine that balances light and darkness. But no, let's kill the last skywalker make rey palpatine /skywalker and take everything from him, without thinking about narrative coherence, without giving luke and read a chance to redeem themselves, instead let's make them ignore ben solo and turn the saga into a replacement tale of troubled children and the story of a psychopath whose granddaughter steals the name of the extinct family for him... And even though reylo is canon, after two and a half years, no concrete signs that Ben will make it back alive, just rumors and theories. Reylo is fantastic, but his ending is so bitter that it is sometimes discouraged to invest time...
How are we not addressing “just you 🥺” I do think “you’re nothing but not to me” is definitely mean and manipulative, he’s desperate and broken and doesn’t feel like he can truly be loved so he’s grasping at toxic straws. It’s a dick move but it’s redeemable. He can apologise later and she can bring it up to win arguments in the future 😂 The main issue for me is that he’s killed a lot of people. Loving a mass murderer nazi guy is definitely a weird one. If we accept that Ben has been tortured and manipulated, and had voices in his head all his life you can kind of get away with it though. Space magic and all that. The force bond is also communicated mostly just through Driver and Ridley’s performances. If it were explained how deeply it connects their souls you can definitely appreciate how it would make it hard to let him go. Also stopping him from being a mass murdering space nazi is probably good for the galaxy *edit to say* I don’t accept Rey being palpatine as cannon. Just going to ignore it coz it’s stupid and I hate it and I want her to be a heroic nobody. So in my head he’s not lying when he says her parents are trash

There is something else in the shirtless scene. This also means that Kylo has nothing to hide, in other words Kylo is sencere and honest.

1) Kylo says to himself: " Forgive me. I feeled again.the

God bless you all ❤️🙏
I have been waiting for part 2!!!!!! Yayyyyyy!!!!!
I know I’m so sorry 🤣 I think part 3 will be really special, too! And probably just a tad shorter. And definitely out SOONER 🤣
i love reylo with all my heart and i wish there was more continuity between tlj and tros.
out of the 3 sequel films, i’d say that tfa is the best overall but not actually my favourite. this is mainly because, for me, tros holds a sentimental value. it was what got me into star wars, reylo and my love for adam driver (by extension most of the cast too). when tfa came out i wasn’t particularly interested in starwars and understood abt 2 things relating it, that ppl had lightsabers and that luke skywalker was cool according to my dad- in my defence i was 9 at the time. however, tros is probably the worst out of the 3 in terms of inconsistency and the amount of stuff shoved in to please ppl. apart from the obvious big reylo scene towards the end, none of the other scenes held as much depth as they did in tlj, even tfa to an extent. if ben solo lived i probably would feel slightly differently as it would be a gateway into something more, a REAL beginning to reylo as a proper romance. it’s literally enemies to lovers but we weren’t given any chance to be happy abt them becoming lovers.
“yay ben solo is redeemed!! yay they finally kissed!! oh no ben’s dead i’m gonna cry”
i’m not saying that there hasn’t been at least hints of romance from the beginning, but up until ben’s redemption they were still enemies and on opposite sides of a war regardless of their feelings for one another.
also when i rewatched tlj after getting into starwars i was screaming at them to kiss in the elevator scene. like u said in the video, kylo/ben clearly wanted to kiss her and i getttttt why he didn’t but still.
anyway moving on
(from here on i’m kinda just spewing ideas of how to fix reylo-related parts of tros)
i completely agree with what u said in the comments, not just abt the timing messing things up, but also the fact that rey is a palpatine (i’ll get to this in a sec). in my opinion, the sequels should’ve been over a longer period of time. there could’ve been appropriate time jumps in between movies and even time significant jumps within the movie itself. this isn’t necessarily the best solution but it’s a solution.
rey being a palpatine is cool and all but she could’ve just been a “nobody” all along, making what kylo/ben said in the throne room not disingenuous. they could’ve still been a dyad in the force. if u think abt it, every jedi lineage has to start somewhere. rey could’ve been chosen by the force and palpatine (if still included in this film) sensed a disturbance in the force (aka her birth) and still sought out to find her bc she’s clearly rly rly powerful. i’m not entirely sure how her parents would protect her from him and end up dying as they wouldn’t know abt him, but if the writers can somehow make up seemingly logical reasoning behind palpatines return, then surely they could make it make sense.
another thing, snoke essentially being palpatine has to go. snoke is snoke, snoke is evil and the source of ben’s suffering (for the most part). i’ve read the books recently and i always thought that snoke was just lying abt bridging their minds, but apparently not (..?). i suppose that’s more down to the plot holes created by tros than a fault in tlj.
i’m not entirely sure what would’ve happened if ben lived after the kiss with rey. would rey have taken him back to the resistance base with her just for him to be arrested? would they have flown off together into the sunset and lived happily ever after? i don’t know. i’d like to think that it would all end up well for them but i rly don’t know.
killing ben off probably seemed like an easier option for the writers as they wouldn’t have to deal with the repercussions of ben solo trying to redeem himself to quite literally anyone else but rey. rey is the only person to rly see his struggles and know why he ended up as kylo ren. i think that they wanted a happy ending where everyone could hug and mourn over the losses they faced during the war and i did like this, it was heart warming to know that their pain was coming to an end. however, there could’ve been a tv series or movie abt ben solo making amends for his mistakes and trying to become a better person in the eyes of the resistance. i also want adam driver back as ben solo bc i love him. btw this is not my original idea, i’ve heard it multiple times from ppl in comment sections, youtube videos, tiktok’s, etc.
there’s my reylo rant over. i definitely have more to say but i wont bc i can go on for a loooooonnnnngggg time. it’s one of the main reasons why i love reylo, i can pick it apart and still be obsessed at the end of the day
loved the video pls make more 👍👍
wow what a rant! lol but I loved it!
Great video essay! Liked it) Reylo are great pairing
Thank you! Long awaited part 3 is due soon! :)
Do you have any plans to complete Reylo Part 3?
It was supposed to release with the 12 Days of Christmas video drop, but family illness got in the way. It will be dropped in the next couple of weeks :)
Yesss 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Yup I couldn’t agree more 🤣
I believe the reason why Kylo/Ben had such a bad case of foot in mouth disease is two-fold.
👏👏👏👏 I couldn’t agree more 😝
Amé este video 💜
Your video is so much fun! And I loved how you detonated the criticisms of anti reylos. More than 40 years of saga and NOBODY called mental invasion rape, but it was enough for kylo to do it in a female protagonist who "oh it's damnable". Since Anakin, Obiwan and Mace invade a guy's mind in clone wars the three of them
at the same time, making him scream and suffer...And then?
That was actually Anakin’s light saber, a symbol of much greater failure than Luke’s green saber.
Half of Reylo is Kylo/Ben so I can't see what's there to dislike. Couldn't be me lol
Can you please do a video about Reylo in Rise of Skywalker
Yes! I'm so sorry it's been so long. I'm about to finish up this semester and then I can get to working on it again
@@JonHandEntertainment i'm so happy:)
I really love your analysis😃
Thank you! I’m really hoping to make this next one way more entertaining and elaborate this time. It’s been a long time coming
💙
is there going to be a Reylo Part 3?
Working on it now! :) It'll be bulk dropped with a lot of other videos
Before you misunderstand Iem not disuppointed IN reylo, I just whant the "force war" to end because it killed him
Force war? Like the Sith and the Jedi?
Yep!
How are we not addressing “just you 🥺”
I do think “you’re nothing but not to me” is definitely mean and manipulative, he’s desperate and broken and doesn’t feel like he can truly be loved so he’s grasping at toxic straws. It’s a dick move but it’s redeemable. He can apologise later and she can bring it up to win arguments in the future 😂
The main issue for me is that he’s killed a lot of people. Also stopping him from being a mass murdering space nazi is probably good for the galaxy
*edit to say* I don’t accept Rey being palpatine as cannon. Just going to ignore it coz it’s stupid and I hate it and I want her to be a heroic nobody. So in my head he’s not lying when he says her parents are trash
Hello, I wanna marry this video ❤ It's so good!!!
I'm a disoppointed reylo, hwo converted to kreia's teachings. Know of her?
not familiar with her
These two sequel mistakes are best forgotten.
Booo
