And why wouldn't you be. Some manbabies say it's just "some silly girlies" who thought this up, but it's not true. It just makes sense. I was a bit ashamed I didn't cotton on to it myself, but it completely went over my head. Then I saw the reylo breakdowns and was forced to admit "oh yeah, it does make complete sense".
I think the biggest reylo hint was when they touched hands and the force song played! Like if their relationship was a bad thing they wouldn’t have played the most beautiful hope filled song in Star Wars!
I absolutely love Reylo! I saw it since TFA but TLJ solidified it for me. When Finn in TFA took Rey's hand she was mad because she doesn't initiate contact with anyone. In TLA she initiated contact with Ben/Kylo who probably hadn't touched anyone intimately in years. The fact that he removed his glove just showed so much.
pls stop this Reylo non sense I hate Rey she let my hand hanging after I offered her the galaxy and saved her from Snoke 😭. I'm too emotional right now❌😠
Anhedonia ** Yup. I’ve dropped out of school. I have depression. I have four little siblings who are the definition of chaos. My mom may have just broken her elbow XD. Yet here I am pouring my heart and soul out for fictional characters. If they don’t get a happy ending, I’m going to sue for all the time I’ve spent willing Rey and Ben to be together.
Anhedonia ** Yeah. I figure my depression won’t go away until the world straightens out. If I could draw humans, I’d be big into making reylo fan art. I can only really do horses, canines, birds and dragons. I also don’t like shading or coloring my drawings, preferring to stay with an outline and muscle features so I can focus on expression.
palmtrees101 the ironic thing about the haters is seeing them slander the ship as all kinds of abusive and then you find out they think anidala is cute(no joke their are people that say Rey and Kylos relationship would be unhealthy because they think the power dynamics are slanted for some reason but the actual tangible power imbalance between Padme and Anakin gets a pass)like I have no problem with the other ship(the clone wars show helps it a lot for me), but my goodness I guess if you didn't have double standards you'd have no standards at all as the saying goes
I just meet people who hate the idea of romance entirely. Most hated anidala. With reylo, most didn't catch any of the subtleties from TFA. You need to have an eye for this kind of stuff, and most don't have it. The outrage in a couple years will be explosive!
Yeah, there seems to be a few categories: 1)the no romance people, which is perfectly fair until they suggest shipping was never previously a thing in star wars and that shippers in general are twilight fan girls who jumped on at the sequel trilogy(obviously not all) 2)kylux shippers are kind of relegated to au territory(or at least they should be) it doesn't make sense to me to fight a ship that has a good chance of being end game with something that you have to change the characters for(like they can go ahead but I consider them on a separate 'crack pairing' level) 3)I the ones I was originally on about were overwhelmingly finnrey shippers who make all those bold claims(including reylo being racist and acting as if the scene where rey's captured is rape), thus the hypocrisy! 4)people who still think they're cousins/siblings/related somehow?
108_garys - Nope! The really ironic thing is that Reylo fan(atic)s are now happily labelling non Reylo supporting Star Wars fans as "haters" and then un-ironically throwing hate at them...? Self awareness is rather lacking! PS. And beware that Lucasfilm don't 'cleverly' subvert the 'head cannon' that Reylo fans have built up for episode 9 in the same way they 'cleverly' (?) subverted the Snoke theorists and Rey's lineage theorists in The Last Jedi. A film directors ego and pride, plus his desire not to have his film dictated by the fans is a terrible destructive thing. ;P
SarcasticCat Gaming hahaha...i didn't even think there was anything between them until my daughter made me go watch TLJ and she said she ships kylo and rey. And now I totally ship them
I thought the sexual tension was obvious in The Force Awakens, but my sister didn’t. I had the feeling this was the direction JJ Abrams was originally headed. But, it could also be that Lucas Film decided to go with Reylo after seeing the chemistry between Driver and Ridley. I would hardly call myself a shipper. I would like these movies even w/o Reylo, and I didn’t write Disney to try and make it happen. But, I love the Reylo storyline.
In the classic films, the Light Side won over the Dark Side of the Force. In the prequels, the Dark Side won over the Light Side. Now they will have to team up so the story can finally end with peace and balance. It's only logical. :-) I find the sequels brillant for many reasons; one of them is that they are not simply following the steps of their old legends but creating new ones. If Ben and Rey will indeed become a couple, it will be a very particular, very beautiful love story, told in a way we've never seen before.
I wouldn't even bother with antis, they're so hilariously close-minded and most of them will resort to name-calling when engaging into a decent conversation with us.
They scream how abusive reylo is yet throwing verbal abusive insults, name-calling(calling people with brain disease) and sending death threats all over the internet. HOW IRONIC.
Darth Vader Grandfather pls. Don't tell me that you're a shipper too. I hate that girl she puts a scar on my face and I forgive her saved her from Snoke, offered her the Galaxy but she still let me down😕
Oh, Ben you can say that, but you gave her these big puppy dog eyes when she severed that connection, and instead of leaping up in rage with your lightsaber in hand you bowed your head in regret. LOL.
Yes #TEAMReyloForLife I love this video great job! And ooh! I just made a video on Reylo too! If you want to check it out I think you might enjoy it but if not no worries! Really enjoyed your video great job btw :)
There is no denying that there is a romantic and sexual side to their relationship. Rian Johnson has literally said the hand touch is “the closest thing we’ll get to a sex scene in a Star Wars film.” Mark Hamill has even spoken up about it. Now the cast and crew are blatantly mentioning Reylo in interviews like it is casual. Disney is trying to tell us something.
It’s going to be fascinating to see these two force users experience love in a relationship. Kylo has been abused by Snoke and Rey was abandoned, meaning that both of them may not understand how to express and receive love. Exhibit A: Kylo tells Rey she’s a nothing. It’s going to be sweet and funny to watch Episode 9.
I was not a Reylo shipper, it didn't even occur to me, but it just makes sense and I don't understand why so many people are so mad about it. Star Wars has always had a central romance and a redemption arc. What's the dealio?!
My brother tried to convinced me and my dad after we watched The Last Jedi that Rey and Kylo where cousins. He convinced my dad but not me, my brother is one of those people that thinks they are never wrong. I laughed in his face when we found out I was right. Plus during the movie at the kiss scene my dad said “Aren’t they cousins?” He knew they weren’t but he just said that to piss off my brother 😂😂
If you’re wanting to sell people on the idea of Reylo, you should include some information on the reverse parallels between Reylo and Anidala. The parallels are so numerous and have been outlined by many people. You can even go further when looking at Kylo Ren’s story arc as a reverse of Anakin’s. You spoke about how you like the rhyming, or echoes, in the Star War Saga. When you look at Reylo opposed to Anidala, and Kylo Ren to Anakin, you can make a good case for how the Sequel Trilogy with bring the whole Nine Episode Skywalker Saga round to a complete circle. Also by taking that approach you can come up with some solid ideas on what may happen in the final installment of this story.
I hope Reylo is endgame because it’s the only way I can see this saga ending in a satisfying way. A lot of the hate towards Reylo makes no sense to me. Some reasons are justified but most of the hate towards it comes off as juvenile (One of the most annoying criticisms for me is when they think that romance shouldn’t be in Star Wars. I mean, romance has always been an aspect of Star Wars in some capacity. They also like to compare it to “Twilight” or “Fifty Shades” in a derogatory manner, which it is definitely not. Reylo has the potential to be a very deep and profound relationship, if done correctly. In addition, “enemies to lovers” is a common trope in fiction for a reason. It makes for compelling drama & can support positive themes, such as love winning over hate.) The criticisms also seem to be short-sighted. Anyway, there’s been evidence of “Reylo” since TFA. Here’s a list of some of the key evidence from the films: 1. TFA line where Kylo says, “What girl?” and then Rey immediately says, “It’s the motivator.” 2. Kylo is constantly shown kneeling in front of Rey. This is especially true when he’s watching her at the start of the interrogation scene. He wouldn’t be in this position if he wanted to intimidate her. He’s also on his knees again at the end of TLJ. 3. There’s constant fairy tale imagery being shown in both films: Rey has a wilting flower and a bell inside her home (ala, Beauty & the Beast), Rey ships herself in a Snow White coffin (also contrasts with Padme’s death), JJ calls Rey “Cinderella” and Kylo “a prince” in his commentary, Rey & Kylo meet in a forest for the first time (like Red Riding Hood & Sleeping Beauty). 4. The lightsabre breaks in half when they go against each other in TLJ, and in TFA, it’s the ground splitting in half. They both have chances to kill each other, and neither one goes through with it. Kylo even saves her life. 5. One of the purposes of the force bond scenes is to show that there’s more to Kylo than just being “a monster.” He listens to Rey when she’s lonely and tells her that she’s not alone. He takes off his glove because he wants to touch Rey. That scene is super intimate, which the writers/actors confirmed it was supposed to be. Rey matters to Kylo. Otherwise, the “But not to me” line wouldn’t exist. Yes, his proposal is messed up, but he clearly has feelings for Rey. It’s going to be a messed up proposal because this is only film # 2, and if he left with Rey, then there wouldn’t need to be a third film. (And Rey can’t take his hand because she’s the moral compass of this series.) 6. He stops looking for BB-8 in the forest when he finds Rey and then bridal-carries her to his ship. As you stated in this video, this story is just like the Death & the Maiden trope. It’s also has elements of Beauty & the Beast, classic gothic literature such as Jane Eyre, and potentially The Lion King. 7. Rey is a scavenger who is all about finding “hidden treasure” and fixing things. I view Kylo Ren as a sort of “diamond in the rough.” Not helping him, in some capacity, goes against her very character. 8. There’s so many parallels to “reverse Anidala” throughout these two movies. They were never meant to be related! In TFA, Maz tells Rey her parents aren’t coming back & her journey is ahead of her, not behind her. Han/Leia would have known her if she was a Skywalker. Luke, Han, and Leia would never have physically abandoned her. Possible characters that she could have been related to would have been Kenobi or Palpatine. However, people wanted her to be a Skywalker, so they weren’t clearly listening to what was being said in the movie. I just wish Lucasfilms would have corrected this interpretation early on. As a result, a lot of Reylos were being told that we were supporting incest. There’s even more evidence in the novelizations, which I wish was shown in the films. I especially wish the films would present the fact that Snoke was basically brainwashing Kylo since birth. I feel like this fact is glossed over in the films with a single line by Leia. In addition, the novels are what state that Kylo has compassion for Rey, and in addition, the interrogation scene is more detailed with Kylo’s actual feelings. Concerning the criticism that this pairing is “abusive,” I find that analysis to be short-sighted. First off, Kylo treats Rey way better than any other character (just compare the interrogation scene of Poe & Rey). Rey is also always the one who “shoots first.” Even when Rey gets thrown against the tree, it’s after she tries to shoot him. With that said, I get why some people find him to be beyond redemption - I mean, he killed his father & an entire village of people. These actions are definitely WAY too extreme in real-life; however, this isn’t real-life. Did the writers portray Kylo as “too extreme” to later become a hero at times? I would say, yes, I think they took his character too far at times. However, I think they are trying to make the point that anyone can be redeemed & it’s never too late for redemption & to correct the path you are on. In addition, I find the “abuse” comments to be short-sighted because they aren’t even in a relationship yet, are on opposite sides of a war, & the relationship won’t even happen until “Ben Solo” returns. (Side Note: I find it deeply ironic & alarming that Reylo’s get a lot of truly hateful and harassing comments from people/trolls online because they ship “an abusive couple.” It’s ridiculous.) By the end of 9, Kylo will either be redeemed or not. Some people don’t want him to be redeemed at all because they want to see the evolution of a truly disturbed villain who only gets darker over the course of the series. They also actually want the end of the Skywalkers. These people are entitled to their opinions and even have some evidence that this might be the case (Afterall, JJ made some comments about wanting to see the evolution of a villain and this trilogy ending the “Skywalker” saga. Maybe you can interpret the ending of TLJ as one that shows that Kylo’’s finally beyond all help. He did say that he’ll destroy “all of it” after being rejected by Rey. But really, how many times has he lied to himself in this series?) However, personally, I think episode 9 will be about him breaking away from the false ideology that has been controlling him under Snoke. I think part of why Luke died was in order to say he’s sorry to Ben, which is what Kylo needed to hear (He’s just not ready to accept it.). In addition, if Reylo doesn’t happen in 9 (and at the very least, a redemption arc for Kylo), then I find this entire trilogy to become completely pointless. Luke or Rey should have just killed Kylo by now - THE END - if that was the case. Star Wars suddenly doesn’t become a story about hope, forgiveness, and good/love defeating evil/hate. Even if the Resistance defeats the First Order, killing an unredeemed Kylo Ren doesn’t support these themes (as I find this series to be mainly about his & Rey’s inner-struggles & finding “balance”, as the actual war is completely secondary to their character development). “Reylo” - in contrast - is the most hopeful/happy ending for this saga. It supports all of Star Wars’ positive themes. It’s an actual fairy tale ending, which is how I think the Skywalker saga should wrap up - on a high note, rather than a depressing or bittersweet one. PS. I do not think Reylo is or should get pregnant via the “hand-holding” scene, if that’s what you were hinting at. It’s way too soon for her character & kind of ridiculous (although I wouldn’t be completely surprised). With that said, I wouldn’t mind seeing the “next Skywalkers” in a future, some-years-later epilogue-type scene.
Nicely said. I agree that many people are shortsighted in seeing it as abusive relationship, as they're not considering the fact that this is a different world. Their relationship wouldn't work in our world, but in the Star Wars universe, dynamics are different and it's the sort of epic/fairytale romance tropes you described. Fascinating analysis 🙌
I love Reylo! I'm a huge fan of the villain and the hero love trope so this was something I saw and wanted after TFA. It was so nice to then have TLJ with so many scenes and a literal connection between Rey and Ben. I'm all for Reylo babies but I don't want her to already be pregnant, but we'll have to wait and see about that theory. I really hope they continue on the Skywalkers later on with their children. I really don't want Ben to dying to be how he's redeemed in the end (too much like Vader when he's not Vader) but since he's my favorite character I'm definitely biased.
Reylo seemed crazyness when it appeared because no one belived that the spark and sexual tension between these two in TFA would became true. Not only because Star Wars is a product with a fanbase proeminetly masculine, but because of the rejection it received when people (majority of female) started shiping actvely. But thinking of it now, I feeel that this "romance" was, besides the feminine protagonism, probably a strategie to bring females attention to Star Wars. Make them a new audience. Because if these movies make 1bi or 2 bi with a predominatly male audience, imagine if it starts to appeal for males and females?
The Real Deal I’ve actually seen some people say that the hand touch scene between Ben and Rey was him abusing and harassing her. Where on Earth would you get that from?!? She is the one that reached out to him. God, these people are so desperate these days.
The Real Deal Yes. There was, and there still is, feminists who couldn't accept Rey having a relationship because of how her first encounter with Ben was. I desagree with them, but I can see why they say that. It's because, storically, when woman are depicted on films, they almost always have a male counterpart with whom they get romantically involved. They wanted this new trilogy to be about Rey's journey fighting against bad guys. The only thing I can't understand is why they think the relationship between Ben and Rey is abusive... Even with him invading Rey's mind (rape allegory?), He had take no pleasure on it and acted "kindly" to her...and in that time they were only war enemies.
@@tracy2539 Same!! I liked TFA but I chose not to watch the other films until I accidentally saw fan art for Reylo, lol! Then, I got super intrigued! A so called villain and hero falling in love? SIGN ME THE FUCK UP!!! Now, I've watched all three films and I LOVE THEM! (Cried at the end of TROS tho...)
EVERYONE: The video on Amino is now a featured post, so it should be much easier to find! Also, this link should work if you're clicking it from your phone: bit.ly/2Gxc5Xp - Josh
Loved your video! Always here for the Reylo content. Was very refreshing to hear someone agree that despite negative perceptions, Reylo makes sense in the wider star wars universe! Good job!
I think that Rey is pregnant, is possible and I wish to see that too - I want Ben to be redeemed and have children with Rey; making it all better what he critizied in his family, would be great fun he deserves 😁
I'm sorry but I'm 100% against. First off, JJ set up there connection as family like not romantic, then RJ killed it. Luke & Rey had no real connection. She was only connected to the island. Also at the end of TLJ Reylo looks ded. The bloodline Skywalkers r coming 2 an end. It seems like KK's goal. Kylo will die & that's it. Finally, oh my Force! There is no way in Chaos that KK or JJ wil get Rey pregnant! Especially through the Force. Remember JJ hates the PT. Also Revans 2 main sabers are red & purple.
My birthday was yesterday, so I'm just gonna go ahead and pretend this was a belated bday present. Thank you so much, you shouldn't have! ;D Anyway, good video! I have to say it's nice for a non-shipper (especially a man) to say they don't have a problem with shippers or shipping in general. I feel those of us who are shipping-inclined get a lot of unjustified hate. So cheers! Good job breaking down the love and hate for the ship! One thing I personally would have included is the idea most antis have that reylo is abusive, and that's why they don't ship it. I know other channels have gone into this, but at least among the reylo haters i've met, that's often the #1 reason they hate it. But anywho! Always good to see some delicious reylo content from you guys.
There's also Ohtze's "Death and the Maiden" essay on tumblr that goes into depth of the trope as it appears in media throughout millennia. It then ties it back to all the fairytale elements that appear in TFA. It even got a whole lot of predictions RIGHT; in TFA's commentary when JJ explains what's going on and what "____" was about or looks like, AND practically upheld in TLJ to the point where it morphs into "The Holy Mother and the Usurper", which Ohtze also did an essay of.
LOVE IT 😍🙋♀️💜💜💜 There needs to be a couple that both use the force. My other PERSONAL reason for beleiving it's endgame is bc Adam Driver rarely if EVER is in anything without a love story. That guy is all about the emotional connection of love and intensity
The rain on RENs glove proves you can transfer fluids during a Force connection. Luke had a Force dream. They both have a Force sex scene - viola job done. They don’t even have to come up with a plausible reason for them to trust each other enough to have sex.
The Force Awakens pays homage to the Greek story of Hades and Persephone with Rey and Kylo Ren’s meeting. And anyone who knows Greek mythology knows how that ended.
great video, the TLJ was a disappointing film I did not like it at first but the reylo WAS the best part and brought me around to like some of the film the reylo part, the rest you can get rid off and forget as it is just forgettable. it is so interesting to work out how this will go, I just wish the haters would forget the shipping part and get on board as this is a more complex relationship than we have ever had in the past and much to speculate about as it gets filmed cannot wait for the first glimpses and the title, its not just about teenage girls on tumbler etc I really want to know how this ends and I know I am not the only mature person who feels the same so can we stop the sneering star wars fans?
I LOVE the idea of Reylo and I’ve also been a Star Wars fan since I was a little kid. I admire you taking the time to explain to haters, but I think many of them are just too resistant to the logic and idea of it to listen to why Reylo is so applicable to Star Wars. Many haters hate the idea of “shipping” and romance, but others hate Reylo because it interferes with their head canons like Rey Skywalker and they hate Kylo because he killed Han. Also, some of the haters are haters because they’re shippers of other ships like Finnrey or Kylux so they’re never listen to the logic. That’s ok though because some form of Reylo will happen and the general audience will love it.
Yes. You just voiced all of my thoughts. Thanks for educating people. Disney did a good job bringing some of the Revan & Bastila story out to surface Star Wars fans. The Jedi order has to evolve into love and that having a mix of light and dark make more powerful coupling of Force users. I don’t ship and never did, but Reylo and that whole dyad force bond thing is this trilogies focus and its so fascinating. I have to have more action scenes with force dyad! I wanted it with these guys too, not animation. These two had chemistry like you wouldn’t believe. I was just an innocent bystander who thought Rey has to be a Skywalker. Then it just unraveled so beautifully but she still took the Skywalker name. So I was even more stoked. For weeks now, this set has just kept unfolding the layers for me. Jedi evolve, you must. ;) Thanks again!
Yasssss! What you said about how badass they would be as a couple both being strong in the force and connecting their power is exactly what intrigued me about these two. It reminds me of Luke and Mara in the expanded universe.
10:01 NEVER A TRUER WORD SPOKEN! When watching the film with my family on DVD, it took all of my self-restraint to not just grab the remote and skip the Finn and Rose discount pod racing sequence back to the awesome Reylo fight scene.
It was the finger touching scene. Probably the closest thing to sex we will ever get in star wars. Like all things star wars its mostly symbolism and mythological story telling and apart of that is learning how to deal with hormones.
Great video! I don't know why reylos are so criticized or mocked. It makes sense to me that there would be fans of the characters and their "ship," after what the films gave us. Especially the charisma and chemistry between the two actors. The criticism leveled at reylos(Keylo is so evil), I think really is a criticism that should be directed at the writers and their attitude of eliminating the old heroes of Star Wars. Kylo is so evil because any legacy the Solo/Skywalkers might have had is torn down by the sequels, with death and the corruption of their descendant...that is why Kylo was a mass murderer. If the creators had intended to preserve any legacy of the old heroes, Kylo most likely would have been more of a reluctant antagonist instead of villain. Now to be fair, in my opinion it was established pretty early that Ben Solo was trapped inside an evil shell created by a higher force, despite criticism that Palpatine was strangely resurrected. Even during Force Awakens it seemed Ben Solo existed inside Kylo, and the end of The Last Jedi supported that theme as it humanized Kylo through the eyes of Rey describing Ben Solo; The Rise of Skywalker ultimately confirmed this. Reylo's truly supported the return of Ben Solo as well as the romantic connection between these characters, especially after the end of The Last Jedi. Fans wanted a happy ending for the Solo/Skywalker and responded to the intense connection between the characters the films provided(Luke definitely should not have died). So if reylo haters find fault with the dark undertones of the Kylo and Rey dynamic, I would say that is more on the writers than the fans...because at the end of the day they left every member of the Solo and Skywalkers in a graveyard.
I find it odd that I’m very much a huge Star Wars fan all the way back to when I saw the vhs copy of ANH and never looked back and i am all for the Ben and and Rey thing no matter wherever it goes. Had no idea what shipping was and then we have these “purists” telling us that it has no place in Star Wars .... yea just Leia and Han and countless others like what the hell????
I'm biracial and I love Reylo (and Stormpilot, Finnrey and Kylux.) While I agree about the white savior being a shitty trope that needs to die, I don't really see it applying to the ST, considering how many people of color (especially heroes of color) there are. I think most Reylos think Rey and Kylo are going to balance the Force, while the Resistance (with Finn, Poe and Rose, all PoCs, at the helm) is what will save the galaxy from the First Order. So not really white savior, two groups of people saving the galaxy in different ways.
Good post. I think Snoke screwed with Luke to get him and Ben at odds. Reylo is Grey Jedi. One of the fan artists had Rey holding a little boy saying ,"and then daddy cut the monster in half."
I love the dynamic and future Reylo babies would be the cherry on top. They are the best thing about this trilogy. In fact the chemistry is hands down the best Star Wars has delivered since Han and Leia. It's the first time SW has really done a soul mate storyline and that's what I think Reylo really is. One can argue Han and Leia were soulmates but that wasn't their storyline though it was good. Anakin and Padme were doomed lovers but imo not a soulmate storyline.. Anyway the hate for this pairing goes back way before TLJ. Fans of Reylo have been accused of being racist, incest lovers, mentally ill, abuse supporters and whatever else. It's really unfounded and ludicrous. People can believe whatever they want, nobody knows how the storyline will end for this trilogy. Being called not a real fan by anyone who can't make a logical argument without insults says more about them then shippers of any ship. Aren't Star Wars fans apart of one giant ship anyway? Josh I love your content. I may not always reply but you always get a like from me. I will say this if Reylo aren't meant to be they definitely aren't siblings something is up with them. It's more than the villain trying to seduce the hero. Jmho.
When I first saw TFA I wasn’t sure of Rey’s identity. She could have been a Ben’s sister or she could have been Luke’s daughter but over time and listening to the arguments it seemed less and less likely in my mind that Rey was part of the Skywalker/Solo Family. People have argued that Rey could have been kidnapped but if she was wouldn’t Han been more open about going back home or quizzing Rey about her family instead of half heartedly offering her a job and telling Maz ‘Leia doesn’t want to see me’. Yes Han could have been in denial or any number of things but he made no move to be anything more than a mentor and possible boss to Rey. If Leia suspected Rey was related to her she would have said something to Rey and maybe even done a DNA test. Now if they abandoned Rey on Jakku they deserve the Worst Parent in Existence reward since they left her with Unkar Plutt who didn’t care if Rey lived or died and any desert is a dangerous place for those unfamiliar with it. There was the argument that Ben left her there after the second Jedi Purge but as was suspected and confirmed in TLJ the timeline was off. And if a fifteen/sixteen year old Ben had dumped her on Jakku why did he do it, why Jakku and there would have been a massive search for her and that also cycles back to the abduction theory: a massive search. And Plutt is greedy so if he saw that the Solos/Skywalker are looking for a young girl that fits the description of a little dumped on his lap and there’s a reward for her safe return he would more than likely cash in or , if he was paid to take her, get someone in the Outpost to call and initially claim the reward and then he would just take it
JediLadyMisty I've pondered a few wild theories on how Rey could be related to the Skywalker/Solo clan myself. Any thing is possible really but I'm just not seeing how two force sensitives like Luke and Leia not knowing they have family out in the universe. Even if she were thought to be dead. I'm actually loving the possibility that she might be related to Hux. Total long shot for sure. He just seems to be the kind of character who'd abandon a sibling on Jakku out of spite. His family also has ties to Jakku, that's where he was taken after his father and him escaped Arkanis forced to leave his mother there. But really I'm okay she's not related to anyone and that's shes just special.
JediLadyMisty I went into TLJ thinking we were going to find out she's his cousin or sister. I wanted her to be Luke's daughter. I did notice they had a lot of chemistry in TFA and even thought they'd make an interesting couple if they werent related. It didn't take me long after watching TLJ to realize Reylo is real.
I was soooooo upset with the death of Han Solo by Kylo Ren in TFA that I never saw the sexual tension between Rey and Kylo. Thanks for the explanation of their attraction to one another through the force. It helps make that movie easier to bear. AND easier to like TLJ. You accomplished a lot through this video. It makes me hate the last 3 movies less. I actually went out and picked up the dvd of TLJ just to watch those scenes (mentioned in your video) to understand what was happening between those 2 characters. I cannot believe I missed that dyad...thanks again! Great job!
Honestly I found this ship oddly fascinating and interesting. I'm a fan of the enemies to lovers trope so this appealed to me but it took a long time for me to get to it. The reason was because I just didn't see any chemistry in The Force Awakens just mostly fighting. Then I watched The Last Jedi and I was so fascinated by all the scenes that involved just them and their force connections. Also their fight in the throne in my opinion was the best fight of the whole saga. Because I enjoyed the fight choreography and their team work. Daisy and Adam just bring a believable chemistry on screen and I really enjoyed both their performances in this trilogy.
Why is everyone treating it like it's real life? In real life, no, Reylo wouldn't happen. But neither would Anakin redeeming himself after the atrocities he committed, or a smuggler becoming one of the greatest war heroes of his generation, or everyone celebrating the death stars being blown up immediately after, or I don't know, most of the plot? It's not realistic because it's not the real world. It's Star Wars.
Revan had Purple lightsaber in a fanart I saw once... but then he bacame a Sith, so it should be red... Anyway, woooooh!!! I like the thought of Rey being... PREGANANANT!!! ... oooor not yet, not until the very end of Episode IX, because I dont want her out of action throughout the whole movie.
I never considered Reylo before TLJ. But through the performances of Ridley/Driver, I FELT their chemistry. I feel like with the eternal battle of the Jedi vs Sith, that union of the Light and the Dark will be what brings balance to the Force.
i think that Disney, when referring to wanting to talk about other stories, other than the Skywalker saga, they plan to continue with the saga but of the Solo, in a certain aspect it would not end with the skywalker line, they would concentrate more on the Solo lineage, when Ben and Rey have children , would be the children of light and darkness, with the task of continuing the legacy of maintaining balance. Reylo forever ! thanks for this amazing video!
Great video Josh. Whether you love it, or hate it, the fact that you’re feeling either way is giving it your time, and energy. lol Peace y’all✌🏻 and may the force be with you always😊
That was one of my points exactly. Like, even though there were things in TLJ that I didn't love, I thought the Reylo connection was really well acted and directed. I agree about the training with Rey too, but what can we do?
Thank you for giving your slant on this. I cannot understand how more people don't see Reylo, its so obvious to me. Sometimes I think, am I the only one who has seen these films? What film were you seeing? Btw, I can't find the Vincent Vendetta videos! I wanted to re-watch them :(
I’m with you 100 %. Nice video. I love Star Wars, Reylo is a cool thing . Over all 9 Films there are lots of flaws we can Pick on. But I choose to just enjoy the good stuff.
How many times did Ben save Rey's life? How many times did Rey save Ben's life? The answers definitely point to their force connection as well as their romantic bond.
I'm a major Reylo fan. I welcome more movies about the Skywalker family and I agree that Reylo is the way to make it happen. I really hope Kylo Ren survives Episode 9. He's my favorite new character.
I'm amazed by how much my mind changed about the sequel trilogy. After TFA I was super thrilled to see who Rey's parents were and who was Snoke. I heard of reylo a couple of time but I was like "that's cool and all but there's so much way the story could be more interesting it'll never happen". Watched TLJ was super pissed off by Luke's death and all I rediscovered reylo and was like "oh my God that is the best thing ever it's the only thing that can save the sequel trilogy". Now when I think about star wars I think of reylo and how much there is to say about it. I've had hours long conversation on reylo and each time I thought that we only scratched the surface and never went deep enough. Reylo was the endgame from the start and I don't know why people aren't getting into it as much as we all do here.
Thank you for this video I think that the Reylo community gets a lot of crap and the anti reylos especially are really mean online and go to such extremes to insult people who ship this couple. This is Disney's endgame in my opinion and it would bring the whole Skywalker saga full circle if you think about. I think you called it reverse Anakin if I'm not mistaken ..I mean I've been called a rascist because I don't see Rey ending up with Finn like whatttt????? How did it go that dark so quickly .....but anywho for me if you love Star Wars and you love the Skywalker saga why wouldn't you want the LAST Skywalker to be happy and be redeemed. People are so quick to forgive Darth Vader without thinking twice (even though he's killed wayyyyy more people than Kylo )and yet say Ben Solo will be redeemed and people literally will insult you and tell you you're a horrible person for wanting that (at least in my experience) . I love being a Reylo I love this community and how supportive everyone is Love you all 😍😍 #Reylo #saveBensolo
Great video! But if TLJ didn't change the mind of Antis by now then they likely can't be changed at this point. Either way, when JJ, (the true OG Reylo) does make Reylo endgame for IX, it'll be the Antis that will suffer to no end 😕
Thank you, this is really my same idea. Me too I'm fan of all SW, what first caught my attention of Reylo was the great connection of force that both possess, It's wonderful the YinYang game, etc. and now with all the TLJ & disney marketing it's pretty clear where this is going. If you are a fan of all SW & mythology it is very obvious that reylo it's important & plays a fundamental role for the end of this whole saga. I'll just say something else, if you like reylo you're no less a fan of those you don't like, I think we all have ideas & interpretations of the story, and that it's okay as long as we don't hurt ourselves with comments. Hate is part of the dark side guys!!
Josh- I enjoyed your video very much, but wanted to push respectfully back on the pregnant Rey idea. As an avid Reylo fan, I think that to have Rey become pregnant by Kylo “through the Force” would strip away her autonomy and her power as the strongest Force user we have yet seen. I’m definitely on board with Reylo babies as a conclusion to their story, but not as a means to bring the Force into harmony. Rey is also a feminist icon, and her non-consensual pregnancy would fundamentally damage her character in the story and her image in the greater SW fandom. Rey would become the vessel for the change rather than the harbinger of change- completely depleting her place in the story. This is just food for thought, but I hope you will consider pushing for post-unity Reylo babies instead. 👶
Thank you for that comment on the Force connection Reylo babies. As much as I would adore Ben and Rey having children in the future, having Rey being pregnant without her consent would be horrible.
100% agree with what you just said. Rey is a huge feminist icon. She occupies a really important place in SW and generally in movies for being a very strong female protagonist who can kick some ass!
You get it, Josh. Reylo was a true Star Wars theme of light/dark sides of the force seeking balance...but Ben needed to stay Kylo for it to work...yin/yang, not yang / yang. It would have been interesting to carry that struggle forward beyond light saber duels and see what it looked like,. George (Lukas and Hegel) would have loved it...Disney dropped the ball on this one.
I'm a 25 year old guy, and I'm pure REYLO trash
604eign lmao and I'm a 12 year old girl and I'm also complete reylo trash this fanbase has multiplied
Tendaaf Damn same here. I’m turning 13 in a week. Your art is fantastic by the way. You could truly go far.
Me too and I'm a 28 year old guy.
Im 29, yeah REYLO trash all the way!
I think the biggest reylo hint was when they touched hands and the force song played! Like if their relationship was a bad thing they wouldn’t have played the most beautiful hope filled song in Star Wars!
Bay Washburn So if I give a handshake to a dude I guess i’m gay
Emma Cain Nothing happened.
Then Uncle Luke had to cock block!!! >;/ lul
604eign IKR???!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Jerkface Luke
pls stop this Reylo non sense I hate Rey she let my hand hanging after I offered her the galaxy and saved her from Snoke 😭. I'm too emotional right now❌😠
Ben Solo Why is your name Ben Solo?! Is it because Kylo Ren is a punk bitch?! Dude, Matt seriously sucks!
VeeMarie Rey doesn't like Kylo. He likes to keep calling me by my real name
Reylo has consumed my life...HELP lol.
Anhedonia ** Yup. Funnily enough, two of my little siblings, especially my brother, are excellent at drawing humans.
Julia Crawford quiet your mind you must
Splash'n'Skillz #37 Everytime I do that, images of reylo flash in my head and I hear, “you’re not alone.” “Neither are you.”
"Reylo is the best part of The Last Jedi" ... No truer words have ever been spoken
Literally the only reason I would feel the desire to rewatch 😂😂 but a VERY good reason nonetheless
I hear people telling me if reylo happens, they will quit SW. Good riddance!!!!
palmtrees101 the ironic thing about the haters is seeing them slander the ship as all kinds of abusive and then you find out they think anidala is cute(no joke their are people that say Rey and Kylos relationship would be unhealthy because they think the power dynamics are slanted for some reason but the actual tangible power imbalance between Padme and Anakin gets a pass)like I have no problem with the other ship(the clone wars show helps it a lot for me), but my goodness I guess if you didn't have double standards you'd have no standards at all as the saying goes
108_garys most are slashers who want Kylo and Hux .
I just meet people who hate the idea of romance entirely. Most hated anidala. With reylo, most didn't catch any of the subtleties from TFA. You need to have an eye for this kind of stuff, and most don't have it. The outrage in a couple years will be explosive!
Yeah, there seems to be a few categories:
1)the no romance people, which is perfectly fair until they suggest shipping was never previously a thing in star wars and that shippers in general are twilight fan girls who jumped on at the sequel trilogy(obviously not all)
2)kylux shippers are kind of relegated to au territory(or at least they should be) it doesn't make sense to me to fight a ship that has a good chance of being end game with something that you have to change the characters for(like they can go ahead but I consider them on a separate 'crack pairing' level)
3)I the ones I was originally on about were overwhelmingly finnrey shippers who make all those bold claims(including reylo being racist and acting as if the scene where rey's captured is rape), thus the hypocrisy!
A film directors ego and pride, plus his desire not to have his film dictated by the fans is a terrible destructive thing. ;P
I convinced 5 of my friends to believe in Reylo
SarcasticCat Gaming hahaha...i didn't even think there was anything between them until my daughter made me go watch TLJ and she said she ships kylo and rey. And now I totally ship them
SarcasticCat Gaming congratulations ! My whole class believes in Reylo :O
SarcasticCat Gaming keep converting them don’t stop
Good good
More ReyLo followers
Well guess what
JJ will finish what he started
Niko Janatuinen Yeah, he'll turn Ren into a pure villain as he sugested during a few interviews.
The Mister Pete Channel We shall see
Niko Janatuinen .....we shall see.
The Mister Pete Channel Doubt it
The Mister Pete Channel source, pls?
I thought the sexual tension was obvious in The Force Awakens, but my sister didn’t. I had the feeling this was the direction JJ Abrams was originally headed. But, it could also be that Lucas Film decided to go with Reylo after seeing the chemistry between Driver and Ridley. I would hardly call myself a shipper. I would like these movies even w/o Reylo, and I didn’t write Disney to try and make it happen. But, I love the Reylo storyline.
Heidi Fedor this
I really hope so. I'd hate to see Ben have to die to get his redemption.
Well guess what
Enemies to lovers? Hell YESS 🚢🚢🚢🚢🚢
In the classic films, the Light Side won over the Dark Side of the Force.
In the prequels, the Dark Side won over the Light Side.
Now they will have to team up so the story can finally end with peace and balance. It's only logical. :-)
I find the sequels brillant for many reasons; one of them is that they are not simply following the steps of their old legends but creating new ones. If Ben and Rey will indeed become a couple, it will be a very particular, very beautiful love story, told in a way we've never seen before.
Pomoscorzo I never thought of it this way! this actually makes so much sense omg
She immediately hit it off with both his parents, too. I wonder what that was supposed to mean... ;-)
Yesssssss
Amazing everything you said is wrong
Reylo is endgame.
sanjib bhatra I Hope so
Reylo is one of the best on screen romances I’ve seen in a while. The tension and the pure love & chemistry was so good. Ending of TROS sad tho :(
I wouldn't even bother with antis, they're so hilariously close-minded and most of them will resort to name-calling when engaging into a decent conversation with us.
They scream how abusive reylo is yet throwing verbal abusive insults, name-calling(calling people with brain disease) and sending death threats all over the internet. HOW IRONIC.
Darth Vader Grandfather pls. Don't tell me that you're a shipper too. I hate that girl she puts a scar on my face and I forgive her saved her from Snoke, offered her the Galaxy but she still let me down😕
FarnsworthIII ohh...
I'm biracial and I ship Reylo (as well as Finnrey, Stormpilot and Kylux), and I like to think I'm pretty open-minded.
Oh, Ben you can say that, but you gave her these big puppy dog eyes when she severed that connection, and instead of leaping up in rage with your lightsaber in hand you bowed your head in regret. LOL.
I love Reylo and star wars
Hannah Abigail reylo 4ever
Yes #TEAMReyloForLife I love this video great job! And ooh! I just made a video on Reylo too! If you want to check it out I think you might enjoy it but if not no worries! Really enjoyed your video great job btw :)
Hey kid. Funny seeing you here. Have you checked out Vincent Vendetta's videos? Go check them out.
Haha hey whats up! :D And yeah some of them, really looking forward to his Part 4 he teased
Michael I saw your vid yesterday and I loooove your animation!
Michael Jae I offered her to rule with me and she let me down I don't wanna see her face and stop pairing me with her!!!! ❌😠
Aww thanks +Klanje !! I appreciate that! I should have a new video out soon! :)
The way they are doing this reylo things is great. if u pay attention it is laid out and it is not super mushy like anikan and padme.
bigbuddah180 Plus, Adam Driver can act.

(Side Note: I find it deeply ironic & alarming that Reylo’s get a lot of truly hateful and harassing comments from people/trolls online because they ship “an abusive couple.” It’s ridiculous.)
By the end of 9, Kylo will either be redeemed or not.
Impressive. Most impressive.
Adequate
You make a very good point; this is the most convincing analysis I've heard so far in favor of Reylo!
Well said!👏👏👏👏😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nicely said.
Bro I agree with you on almost everything but I do not think she is pregnant.
I want to them to have children
Me: Goes to see 9th movie well.... that got shutdown
Thank youuuuuu!! Beautiful video. Reylo ❤️. Going into Ep9, I am so invested in their relationship more so than any other relationship in SW, ever?
YOU CALLED IT FIRSTT AND YOU WERE RIGHT!!!!
Phew! This video is not a joke of April fools day! Yey! Love you so much!!! 💖
I agree...and I can honestly say, it worked for me, lol. I was never a huge Star Wars fan (liked but didn't love) until now.
Adam Taucher I only can think that this interpretation of things came from people who suffered abuse. These people can only be projecting.
Their relationship is so beautiful!! Amazing video!! I’m still in pain!
Good job!
please, what is the ost that plays in this video?
+Benji 1234.....you don't know?!! I'll give you a hint....its from a Star Wars video game.
My birthday was yesterday, so I'm just gonna go ahead and pretend this was a belated bday present. Thank you so much, you shouldn't have! ;D
Anyway, good video!
TimeandMonotony happy bday
Thank you! :)
If that thigh grab at 3:50 doesn’t convince you that reylo is a thing, I don’t know what else will 🤷🏻♀️
Thaaaaank you for this
There's also Ohtze's "Death and the Maiden" essay on tumblr that goes into depth of the trope as it appears in media throughout millennia.
That's awesome! I'll have to check it out :)
*GASP* SENPAI NOTICED ME!!!!
Lifelong SW fan here, and I'm totally on board this ship. I think their scenes from TLJ set up Episode IX beautifully.
LOVE IT 😍🙋♀️💜💜💜 There needs to be a couple that both use the force. My other PERSONAL reason for beleiving it's endgame is bc Adam Driver rarely if EVER is in anything without a love story. That guy is all about the emotional connection of love and intensity
Yesss! Reylo babies! They exchanged midichlorians during the fingers touch! That's how lt will work!!
Olga Karlafti I Hope one day that rey get pregnant With Ben solo babies ?
I'd rather them actually have sex. Anakin and Padme did.
The rain on RENs glove proves you can transfer fluids during a Force connection. Luke had a Force dream. They both have a Force sex scene - viola job done. They don’t even have to come up with a plausible reason for them to trust each other enough to have sex.
Sex dream that should have been.
Hannah Preece We say the same thing in other words!
The evidence is there. So much romantic tension. They are basically Anidala reversed! ✨❤️
The Force Awakens pays homage to the Greek story of Hades and Persephone with Rey and Kylo Ren’s meeting. And anyone who knows Greek mythology knows how that ended.
I trump you 604eign, I'm 75 and love REYLO and Kylo so powerful as an actors they draw you into the story...wonderful
great video, the TLJ was a disappointing film I did not like it at first but the reylo WAS the best part and brought me around to like some of the film the reylo part, the rest you can get rid off and forget as it is just forgettable. it is so interesting to work out how this will go, I just wish the haters would forget the shipping part and get on board as this is a more complex relationship than we have ever had in the past and much to speculate about as it gets filmed cannot wait for the first glimpses and the title, its not just about teenage girls on tumbler etc I really want to know how this ends and I know I am not the only mature person who feels the same so can we stop the sneering star wars fans?
I'm so happy you pointed out the similarities between Revan/Bastilla & Reylo. Kylo Ren's whole design is clearly heavily inspired by Revan.
Star wars my number 1 franchise nothing will chance that. Not even the toxic fanbase can chance my mind. I can’t wait to see what happens in ep 9.
Yasssss! What you said about how badass they would be as a couple both being strong in the force and connecting their power is exactly what intrigued me about these two. It reminds me of Luke and Mara in the expanded universe.
Reylo forever!!
Brandon Holtzclaw reylo all the way
AMEN! :)
He knows of revan and bastilla
RESPECT
Look, the force ITSELF ships it 😂😂❤❤
10:01 NEVER A TRUER WORD SPOKEN! When watching the film with my family on DVD, it took all of my self-restraint to not just grab the remote and skip the Finn and Rose discount pod racing sequence back to the awesome Reylo fight scene.
Rey may already be pregnant?
I must have missed that The Last Jedi deleted scene.
Kenny Ritchie lol
Kenny Ritchie I Hope that rey get pregnant With Ben solo baby .
Me too.
It was the finger touching scene. Probably the closest thing to sex we will ever get in star wars. Like all things star wars its mostly symbolism and mythological story telling and apart of that is learning how to deal with hormones.
Koonsie N7 I guess if Shmi got pregnant by the force, finger touching might do it, but I hope not.
I'm definitely sailing on this ship. The integration of the force into this realtionship is the high point for me.
Star Wars fan since 77 and I was a shipper from their first scene together.,
I find it odd that I’m very much a huge Star Wars fan all the way back to when I saw the vhs copy of ANH and never looked back and i am all for the Ben and and Rey thing no matter wherever it goes. Had no idea what shipping was and then we have these “purists” telling us that it has no place in Star Wars .... yea just Leia and Han and countless others like what the hell????
I'm biracial and I love Reylo (and Stormpilot, Finnrey and Kylux.)
While I agree about the white savior being a shitty trope that needs to die, I don't really see it applying to the ST, considering how many people of color (especially heroes of color) there are.
And Plutt is greedy so if he saw that the Solos/Skywalker are looking for a young girl that fits the description of a little dumped on his lap and there’s a reward for her safe return he would more than likely cash in or , if he was paid to take her, get someone in the Outpost to call and initially claim the reward and then he would just take it
The Real Deal that's horrible and I've read stuff like that before.
Great job!
I'm a guy and I love reylo and no I don't care if you think It's weird lmao
Finally a real man who can say he loves Reylo....
Reylo is totally endgame! ☯️
Anyway,
woooooh!!! I like the thought of Rey being... PREGANANANT!!!
...
oooor not yet, not until the very end of Episode IX, because I dont want her out of action throughout the whole movie.
This is so bloody awesome! Thank you so much for posting this. I will share it via my tumblr page for other Reylos to enjoy now. Have a nice holiday.
Also...
Great video. Happy Easter to all! Ben and Rey are endgame! :)
Laura LaPlant I Hope so
Stephanie. Page It will be very, VERY disappointing if it isn't, especially from a plot standpoint, because ALL signs are pointing that way.
Honestly this is one of the few things I actually enjoyed from Last Jedi. Still wish Rey received more training from Luke first
That was one of my points exactly. Like, even though there were things in TLJ that I didn't love, I thought the Reylo connection was really well acted and directed. I agree about the training with Rey too, but what can we do?
The Den of Nerds hope for the future of the franchise. A New Hope if you will
Thank you for giving your slant on this. I cannot understand how more people don't see Reylo, its so obvious to me.
Sometimes I think, am I the only one who has seen these films? What film were you seeing?
Btw, I can't find the Vincent Vendetta videos! I wanted to re-watch them :(
OMG this video is perfect!!!!
Antis are so rude like you can't even engage in a conversation with them without some sort of name-calling.
@Toxic Neon Gas you call all the Reylo shippers sick because of the behavior of a small group of people???
I’m with you 100 %. Nice video.
I love Star Wars, Reylo is a cool thing .
Over all 9 Films there are lots of flaws we can Pick on.
But I choose to just enjoy the good stuff.
How many times did Ben save Rey's life?
How many times did Rey save Ben's life?
The answers definitely point to their force connection as well as their romantic bond.
Reylo is the saving grace of the sequel trilogy
I never clicked a video so fast in my life
I'm a major Reylo fan. I welcome more movies about the Skywalker family and I agree that Reylo is the way to make it happen. I really hope Kylo Ren survives Episode 9. He's my favorite new character.
"...you're nothing, but not to me..." LOVE IT!!! #reylo HOT&COMPLEX
PROUD REYLO SHIPPER SINCE 2015! 💗💟💖❣️❤️💞💗💜💙💟💘❤️♥️💓💕💖💗💟💙💚💚💛💜💝💙💞💝💜💙💝💝💚💝💝💜💖💓💖💓💟💓💕💓💖❣️❤️❣️♥️
Its the only redeeming story line that exists. Im a huge SW fan and I am really excited for this.
You’re the best channel for reylo theories 😍
REYLO FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup! Reylo IS the best part of tlj! Great video!
Newly Reylo trash here! Yass.
I'm a Reylo fan. Thanks for the video :)
Why can’t I find Vincent Vendettas videos?? Did he delete his channel?
Really happy that I found this chanel! Keep up!
Thank you for this video I think that the Reylo community gets a lot of crap and the anti reylos especially are really mean online and go to such extremes to insult people who ship this couple. This is Disney's endgame in my opinion and it would bring the whole Skywalker saga full circle if you think about. I think you called it reverse Anakin if I'm not mistaken
..I mean I've been called a rascist because I don't see Rey ending up with Finn like whatttt?????
Vicky Galvez i agree they’re BRUTAL
Great video! But if TLJ didn't change the mind of Antis by now then they likely can't be changed at this point. Either way, when JJ, (the true OG Reylo) does make Reylo endgame for IX, it'll be the Antis that will suffer to no end 😕
I love the title of your video! It made me chuckle 😆! Viva La Reylo!
VINCENT VANDETTA'S VIDEOS ARE AMAZING OH MAN AND THIS ONE IS AMAZING TOO THANK YOU!! Really appreciate the acknowledgement of the validity of Reylo
SOO happy that you did this video, its so clear
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'm actually not pushing for anything. I'm just coming up with theories and speculation. It's for fun!
The Den of Nerds oh absolutely!
Yeah, but genuine Yin/Yang is not good/evil. This whole Light/Dark thing comes together to make gray.
Reylo is endgame! #savebensolo!
Amanda DeWeese reylo 4ever😁
