nice video, thanks for sharing. Just one word of caution, may be on the risky side taking water from the river to cook, Check "Is my river fit to play in" for a very detailed (and shocking) map of how much sewage is damp into each river. It is also very useful to choose places which are less affected.
You need a waterways license which costs £45 per year - you just pick one up online and it’s just to cover you as the rivers/canals in the Uk are private so it is just to grant you access
@@Elliecartwright_filmmaker ok thanks for the response, another stupid question what are the rules on the canal as in when you come across boats, side to paddle on, etc, do you just get out of there way?
@@stealth1692 there are no stupid questions when it comes to river safety!! So the rule is - keep right (like driving abroad!) You technically have right of way as you are an unpowered vessel BUT some boats will be too big, may not see you and you will lose if playing chicken against one soooo basically get out of their way, hug the bank, sit down if they are creating a big wake so you don’t fall in 👍🏻 Follow me on Instagram for any more tips @ellieactionfilms
SUP's have priority over the barges. So just paddle straight at them and they will have to get out of your way. If you collide into them you can sue them. (This is how I earn my living)
Scuba divers "socks" are the greatest! When it's cold in Alabama, I can still go for a SUP session on my local river ( Tallapoosa!😊👍). 6" tall, side-zip neoprene, with robust rubber sole, mudlarking-approved! Nice Channel you have going; come for a session in Alabama, I have boards (lots!)..
Unfortunately you’re an unpleasant person. That’s far far worse than being an amateur paddler - that’s not a reflection on my personality but trolling is. You’ll be blocked imminently but I want to be sure you see this message first.
Horrible a fellow paddler adds a post like that! Hey, you looked like you had loads of fun out and about with a mate which is what its all about - thanks for posting this video.
That was fun to watch. Thank you.
Absolutely enjoying watching your sup adventures .
