I've been following your channel from the beginning of this project. When I watched the episode of you taking it to get hauled out I was thinking that this ole boat would never see water again. You two have been doing a fantastic job restoring this fine vessel. I'm looking forward in seeing the upcoming videos and watching it to the final restoration episode. You both have something to be very proud of what you've accomplished so far. Thank you for sharing all the hard work and allowing us to follow along with these videos.
Thanks for sticking around for so long. There were definitely some points in the project where doubt tried to take over, but you just have to push those thoughts aside and press on! Thanks again for the support and following the project.
Great work, i watched the entire series on Sunday, i’m a marine electrician based in the UK building luxury motor yachts and super yacht tenders, if i was you i’d consider using heat shrink crimps for your wiring, they’re very good especially at protecting the wires and terminals from corrosion especially in a marine environment, also instead of having to switch the main isolator to combine you can add in a battery combiner sometimes called a vsr (voltage sensitive relay) which will automatically disconnect the engine start battery from the house when the voltage drops and combines them when it senses a charging voltage from the engine or shore power. all the best to you and your brother, will be following on with each new episode
Thanks! I have used those in the past but I definitely need to pick up some more. I would like to put an automatic charge relay in the boat at some point.
Really impressed with the finish. I'm doing up my wooden top at the moment but I never thought of the teak wash for the gray wood. Great job guys One of the best I've seen. Thanks for putting in the time to show us. Appreciated.
I'm sure you added it after the video, but that AC wiring needs to have a cover. Otherwise someone can just flip down the panel to do some work on the DC system & end up touching live AC wires. Required under ABYC standards as well.
Wonderful work. As I watch I wonder the following: How did you come upon the building within which all this work has been done; how much, so far, has this renovation cost? Where does all the money come from? Thanks in advance.
The shop belongs to my father. I don’t keep track of how much it has cost. We work on her when we can and buy materials when we can afford them. This project has broken me both financially and spiritually more than once!
I have been binge watching your vids . Great job. My son and I have a 26 ft. MaGreagor X Not a lot of work to do on them . Just curious what vocation you and your brother have . Keep up the good work. Ken from Chilliwack BC Canada.
I got it from a local place. I think they will ship it but you may be able to find it elsewhere. www.blackburnmarine.com/product/6537/sea-dog-door-stop-button
Im really surprised you have more views than Sail life .. His work is amazing and I almost fell asleep watching this video ..You didn't show anything on how you wired the panel up and the trim work his horrible ....Sorry
Sail life has way more views than we do. He gets more views in a day than this video has gotten in a month. This isn't a how to channel. It's a vlog about restoring an old boat. If you are not interested in the videos there are plenty of great sailing and refit channels to pick from out there. I do appreciate the comment though. Even negative ones help the video!
Thanks for posting and sharing. Nice to see how work is proceeding!
You are doing a grand job. Looking spiffy already.😉
Very smart looking. Nice work. It's all about the details.
Thanks!
I love the sailbros vibe. You guys could do basket weaving videos and I'd be down to watch that shizzle too.
Thanks dude!
Looking really good man, stay safe in these crazy times!
The little shelf you glassed in to mount the head would be a good place to mount a fold-out foot rest to aid in bracing during rough weather.
Damn, everything looks so nice, fantastic job!

A cnc is a fantastic tool.

What’s up guys
What's up!
Didn't you have it docked at Watergate at one point?
Yep. Was there last summer for a few months
Hope you are all safe, double whammy, virus and gig storm 🤦♂️
Enjoy it, sadly, on the eve of Laura making landfall... Hope you all weather it OK. Predictions look potentially horrific!
We really dodged a bullet. Had almost no effects from the storm. Very lucky
I see that you’re selling the Catalina on Craigslist. Hopefully you sell it and can dump the money into your primary boat.
That's the plan!
:)
