that as well as they need to have plays where wilson can get rid of the ball faster. Just look how rodgers usually gets rid of the ball within seconds or how the falcons were able to just hit a bunch of quick short routes and extend the drive. I recall the falcons having like 9+ guys with multiple receptions.
No (other way around) but they will have four first/second round picks starting on this year's group (just like everybody wanted) and let both of last year's tackles walk--common sense says addition by subtraction, no?
Falcons fan here, thank you so much for that break down. We have not yet developed the fan base to have someone as thorough as you. Would enjoy if you broke down more games from the Falcons as a favor. LOL great job man
Get in line Jean!! :) The Eagles need him also. (once we get WRs and CBs) Sam is a beast. If a team or small network was smart, they would hire him. (if they haven't already) I am curious to know where he obtained his football education. Sam knows a ton, but more importantly, he shares his knowledge in an easy to use, easy to understand, high level way. Unlike my messages. :)
While painful to watch, this is truth on film. For all the warm feelings I have toward the greenhorn O-line this year in how they struggled and valiantly fought against the odds to do well (and did improve along the way) we can't go the Bad News Bears route again. Excepting Britt, who I feel really proved up to the task of yet another new position and seems to have found a home, all these guys should have been 2nd/3rd stringers learning from professionals/veterans up front. Perhaps some of them get to stay, but only because they improved that much and competed for their position enough to earn it. Go Hawks!!
O-line is blessed to have a time creator as Russell Wilson. He is a great QB. He is the new QB standard almost every NFL team looks for. How he escaped our falcons defense is beyond me. Give him much respect. If it were Payton manning or even tom Brady, it would've been a sack fest
The holding call on KPL was a devastating setback. The safety (followed by the TD drive) put the fork in them. They had to abandon the run in the 3rd and the Falcons keyed on Russ. Bad show
Sam, Can you break down how the Falcons D-line destroyed the Pats in SB51 & how the Pats adjusted the OL for the 31 unanswered points SB51 win. BB will never release his adjustments. Or did the Falcons players burn out because of the grueling stunts.
3:03 XD I'm not trying to be rude, honest, but how he escaped is a combination of skill and intelligence. Great frickn job breaking their stunts down though.
Good stuff here! Maybe we should finally put blame where it belongs; the Seahawk's leadership. Tom Cable (aka "The offensive line genius") drafted all these "project" linemen that were labeled as questionable picks by virtually every draft analyst alive, regardless of what round they were in. Now he can't even assimilate a shadow of an average NFL offensive line. Too bad San Fran didn't want him. Carroll and Schneider are equally clueless on offensive linemen. Great everywhere else, but not OL. Strange...
Great vid! Casual Falcon fans will look at the final score to determine the defense was great, but honestly they got lucky. Russell missed 2-3 touchdowns that game. Seahawks has a horrible O-line. No Earl Thomas. This match-up was perfect for the Falcons. Aaron will not miss these same throws Sunday and his line is a lot better. Falcons offense will need no less than 5 tds to win Sunday. BTW I'm a Falcons fan, I just can't get down with the delusional mindset the other fans have.
cnoteda1and0nly The Falcons offense also missed 2 TD opportunities. Ryan overthrowed Gabriel on a post that resulted in a punt and they kneeled at the 1 at the end of the game.
Kevin Lynn My point was the defense didn't play as well as the score shows us. I'm well aware of the Falcon's potent offense but Earl would have changed things a little.
cnoteda1andOnly; I'm an "Ole Skool" Falcons fan and far from a casual. Although I agree with your point, I think the use of the word "lucky" distorts the context of your initial post to a certain extent. Your second post clarifies your statement very nicely so props to you. It's very true that Willson (although good) is not the same beast Mr. Rodgers has proven to be. That said, the all 22 shows that constant pressure while dropping drop seven into coverage had an attritional effect on Willson. In my opinion, this is more cause and effect than luck. I agree with you that given the same situations Aron Rodgers is more likely to complete those passes. But we must acknowledge the fact that the Falcons defense created those conditions and without the constant pressure we could be sitting on the coach this weekend.
BlackBirdBlitz The defense did their job by taking advantage of a weak offensive line, but casual fans will overlook the fact that the line was weak. I see fans on twitter mention the improvement of the defense, and while they have to a certain extent, they've yet to truly play anyone during the stretch of their improved play. I take that defensive performance with a grain of salt. Rodgers is as efficient as Ryan in the redzone, so he won't miss the easy throws. For some reason fans expect a blow out, but this game will be incredibly tough.
I will give it to the Falcons they did very well, I'm happy to see them do well they're a good team, but what surprised me is how We still got 20 points vs the falcons 36 so really only 2 touchdowns away and a field goal which was amazing considering are low quality offensive line.
at 2:30 I disagree with using that as an example. the Seahawks receiver runs into the dt keeping him from getting outside. if this doesn't happen the dt likely finishes this play how its meant to be
in this game the bogus call on a kick return by lester hays to the 7 yard .went back to 7yard line and 93 yards to score instead of 7. 93 yards gained by refs.they were the mvps.
I'm pretty sure not spending on the line is part of the Seahawks philosophy. They have so many superstars on defense and a long term superstar QB they need to pay, so somewhere they have to cut costs. The reasoning for not spending on the line is pretty obvious. Firstly, its expensive. You're only as good as your weakest link, so you have to upgrade multiple positions to see a great improvement. More importantly, Wilson is one of the best players in the league at creating offense from a broken down pocket. If you're advocating an investment in the line you have to ask yourself: Is it really worth letting 2-3 of your key pieces on defense walk so you can go from the worst line in the league to a below average one, when you have Wilson at QB? The answer might be 'yes' but it's not nearly as black and white as you make it sound.
the cap space is only growing so why not get LT & RT, you're wasting the Defense prime including Russell's when trying to be like Frankenstein of offensive line
Seahawks O line has been the worst in the NFL the last 2 seasons ... I mean it's been SO bad... things are looking up a bit this offseason with some changes going on, so we'll see ...
Good video this wouldn't work on Dallas o line there too good the line men run block sometime they pull and block for the runner it would be a long day for this type of defense if it was against them
Russell Okung was incredibly overrated. He was a first round pick with a lot of potential upside but his career was plagued with injury, holding calls, and false starts. Everybody thinks that he alone is the reason the offensive line is so bad but it wasn't even good when he played. Unger was the only man on the front that was worth anything and we traded him for Jimmy Graham which was a fantastic trade, people just need to be patient. Justin Britt has turned out to be just as good as Unger without injury problems and in only his first season at center. Things will look up, but Okung wasn't the answer as you can now tell from him being the anchor to a horrid line in Denver. Enough with the "Dan Schneider doesn't know what he's talking about." Every other position on the team aside from offensive tackle is very solid. Most people can't say that their team only has two holes.
Great video, but could you give me some dictionary, cause for person with other mothertongue and not raised in american football some terminology like "b-gap" and "stunt" is totally unknown. Thanks in advance
Peppe Dallas was #13 in sacks last year. They got stonewalled by a much bigger and a better offensive line. Overall they were pretty good last year, despite the narrative
Stop criticizing the Front Office, if you think that the Seahawks front office is bad then you don't pay attention at all. If you give Seattle two great offensive tackles then there would be a hole on the team somewhere else that you would criticize. It will be fixed just chill.
Seattle really needs to have a better o-line to protect Wilson. His talent's getting wasted with basically no time to create.
that as well as they need to have plays where wilson can get rid of the ball faster. Just look how rodgers usually gets rid of the ball within seconds or how the falcons were able to just hit a bunch of quick short routes and extend the drive. I recall the falcons having like 9+ guys with multiple receptions.
starkk19 they're trying. They traded away one their best players to the saints for an o lineman.
No (other way around) but they will have four first/second round picks starting on this year's group (just like everybody wanted) and let both of last year's tackles walk--common sense says addition by subtraction, no?
MGB oh yeah lol. You're right

Jean Makita oh yeah forgot not enough bandwagon fans yet? Using fake crowd noise in the stadium? Lol
Jean Makita 28-3

Go Hawks!!
can we get a breakdown on the steelers rookie dbs. Or on how bells running style helps the Oline do their jobs.
Thanks for this breakdown. I kind of understand now. WE SMOKED GB! #RISEUP

ICEBERGSHAWTY That's the Super Bowl take your shit somewhere else
cmpondeck 28-3
KamariFerrari Who is your team?
Came back to watch this video in 2022 as a broncos fan
Hahaha
Finally. I was waiting for this. Thanks for the upload!!
This is ALL coach Quinn's fingerprints, GLAAAAAAD we didn't get Rex Ryan as head coach!!
Demetrius Roberts right

Sam, you do an incredible job in your videos! I love your channel!
Sam, Can you break down how the Falcons D-line destroyed the Pats in SB51 & how the Pats adjusted the OL for the 31 unanswered points SB51 win. BB will never release his adjustments. Or did the Falcons players burn out because of the grueling stunts.
Sigh... Pete just said they weren't gonna sign O-line... smh
3:03 XD I'm not trying to be rude, honest, but how he escaped is a combination of skill and intelligence. Great frickn job breaking their stunts down though.

How in the world did you get this film? Like from this angle, this is the best angle and I wish TV would broadcast from this view.
If you purchase NFL Game Pass you have access to the coach's film angles.
Great vid! Casual Falcon fans will look at the final score to determine the defense was great, but honestly they got lucky. Russell missed 2-3 touchdowns that game. Seahawks has a horrible O-line. cnoteda1and0nly Damn bite your tongue bro. Wrong af
They were all over Russell all day lol. Great job for the defense on that game. They really kept those gaps intact for rushing at him.
Very good analysis, you should do stunts in SBLI
"Absolutely hammered"
damn good analysis.
A lot of this blame falls on Cable who was rightfully fired. Players not being able to pick up stunts is due to bad coaching.
You don't see that kind of pass rush in madden... just another thing that's NOT in the game.
Great vid, man.
I will give it to the Falcons they did very well, I'm happy to see them do well they're a good team, but what surprised me is how We still got 20 points vs the falcons 36 so really only 2 touchdowns away and a field goal which was amazing considering are low quality offensive line.
Jesus, I knew Seattle's O-line was bad but this breakdown makes it painful.
How do you get access to these angles of the game to break down if i may ask.
Imagine this stunt with Poe & Takk pushing.
at 2:30 I disagree with using that as an example. the Seahawks receiver runs into the dt keeping him from getting outside. if this doesn't happen the dt likely finishes this play how its meant to be
Can you break down the saints vs falcons game
That's why teams drafting smaller but athletic DL nowadays.
It's a lot harder to play line than a lot of people think
And the Seahawks didn't do shit for their O line lol
Prophetic!
These stunts are hard to go against
But Glowinzki is good now... so what’s the deal
Some of these plays would've better for the Seahawks if they had a better left tackle
in this game the bogus call on a kick return by lester hays to the 7 yard .went back to 7yard line and 93 yards to score instead of 7. 93 yards gained by refs.they were the mvps.
Do you know why they avoided spending money on the O-line? In week 1, the new DE was good bu O-line let them down again.
Their O-line consisted of two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks. Cable is to blame here.

whoever has to walk let em fucking walk we need new o-line now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now these stunts are something to get confused about. These are big complicated stunts. I see pros struggling with with little 2 man stunts (DE & DT).
just subbed
Seahawks O line has been the worst in the NFL the last 2 seasons ... I mean it's been SO bad... things are looking up a bit this offseason with some changes going on, so we'll see ...
could someone tell me where to get this film. its not like the regular TV broardcast
NFL Game Pass. You have to pay for it.
oh ok I see
Samuel Gold How do you not get it copyrighted?? I mean you pay for it but they don't give you right do they??
Coincidence that both the players he mentioned were from Wisconsin?
#RISEUP
What's your thoughts on Luke joeckel???
Seachickens will suck for years to come 😂
Everything can beat seattles o-line 😂
come on sam, it doesn't take much to beat the hawks oline. it's their weakness and everyone knows it
Cannot wait to see these schemes against my Cowboys.
seemed like it took a lot of time for those stunts to develop
Don't forget wilson is very fast so he's hard to get, probably the only reason seattle has not pay big for offensive line in F/A
Ok but here's the difference, we have a ring 😂
It's not hard to beat our offensive line especially with a sack leader on it
Nah they just needed to run wr/hb screens and run option plays
Good video this wouldn't work on Dallas o line there too good the line men run block sometime they pull and block for the runner it would be a long day for this type of defense if it was against them
Why the fuck has Madden not incorporated this.
Detroit needs a new o line.
the price we paid to let Russell Okung walked away as a free agent
l kn0w
Hmmmmm, honest question. Was he worth the big money?
No but I think we should of kept Unger though.
nah unger is not the center he once was while you guys got jimmy graham.Seahawks need to draft offesive line this draft imo
Russell Okung was incredibly overrated. He was a first round pick with a lot of potential upside but his career was plagued with injury, holding calls, and false starts. nuce Job
Hey Atlanta, congrats on your super vi- *OH WAIT!*
God our oline is shit
Madden nano blitz. Lmao
Let me do this is madden
David Carr be like
Our line really sucks
Salty seahawks fans have this great vid a thumbs down
smart puttiing a safety to spy wilson
we had a terrible o line dont feel special
Great video, but could you give me some dictionary, cause for person with other mothertongue and not raised in american football some terminology like "b-gap" and "stunt" is totally unknown. Thanks in advance
Please see my whole channel. This is video #42. I've explained many of these terms already.
ua-cam.com/users/SamuelGoldnFL
that's the type of shit the pats do to everyone they play....I see it every sun😁...
nah nigga, Michael Jackson
left tackle needs to quit his job
I'm a saints fan so I hate the Falcons, but enjoy watching their defense play (because it sucks lol).
Y Dallas couldn't do that to Rodgers I don't get it
Carl Tompkins 1st bc they don't have a d-line. 2nd packers o-line is one of the best. so it's quite the opposite of what we watch here.
Peppe Dallas was #13 in sacks last year. They got stonewalled by a much bigger and a better offensive line. Overall they were pretty good last year, despite the narrative
Go Bucs!
Boi the Seahawks line is ass if they fix it they will go to the Super Bowl every year
28 and 3 😆
Seahawks need to fix their o-line. We coming for you 52. 2/4/18. #SeaDat #GoHawks
Seattle oline cost them a few games
Man Wilson's a beast sucks his line is not good
Russell needs quicker shorter passes\.
yea but they got smacked by the eagles
Shit didn't work on New England lol haha
Its more of the Seahawks shit line because of the cheap decisions made by the front office
Stop criticizing the Front Office, if you think that the Seahawks front office is bad then you don't pay attention at all. If you give Seattle two great offensive tackles then there would be a hole on the team somewhere else that you would criticize. It will be fixed just chill.
Ross Luton Ya I mean it's either having a bad line or being like Dallas expensive line but no cap space.
Anything is to much for the Seahawks o line
that shit didn't work against Brady...
4+ sacks in 1 game is a great sign of it working.
haha falcons lostnin the super bowl
