It's cause you enabled voice assistant. You just reset them.. try enabling assistant and turning it off. You'll get Left solo only when assistant is disabled. Hope they fix this in a software update but maybe you can let your followers know so they don't have to reset their settings.

Just FYI. Got them 2 hours ago, they were working. Firmware update appeared, started to install it, failed at 9% and since then the left earbud doesn't work anymore. I mean at all, not only sound, it's not recognised by the case when put in or pulled out, touch button doesn't work, so I can't reset them. Left earbud is bricked.
Very stupid design that you can only update via bluetooth and if the update fails it can brick the earbuds and you can't try to update again through bluetooth.
Very disappointed in Sony that I have to return new expensive top of the line earphones for a random software update failure that can't be resolved by the user.

Thanks for these tips. I was getting frustrated trying to pair my Sony WF-1000XM4 just as you said. Now they work on my other device. Why don't manufacturers give us simple instructions to follow, this is where you come in!
To reset the WF-1000XM4 Place both earbuds in the charger case with lid closed. Next ..plug in your charger. Quickly open the lid five times until you see the case flashing red. Then it’s reset.

I thought this was a bullshit comment and I felt stupid even trying this out. But it actually worked, except that I opened and closed the case a 6th time before it flashed and fixed my issue.

Dude, you are a genius. I spent hours trying to reconnect my WF-1000XM4 earbuds to Bluetooth after I purchased a replacement left earbud. At first, only the right bud worked. I eventually forgot the device from my iPhone's list of connected BT devices. Then I went on an odyssey of finding solutions. I reset the network connections, viewed several UA-cam videos, followed the instructions from the owners manual, and nothing worked. Then I found your video, followed the steps, and I was able to reconnect. Thank you!!
So u can replace the ear buds? They work with the original charging case?
@Tom Harris Hey man, I purchased the replacement earbud from EBay.
I have various makes of Earbuds, as well as phones, Tablets etc that I connect to them. So factory reset is usually the first thing I look for.
You must have that problem times 10, regularly! I do appreciate you making this video, because these situations can drive people NUTS.

I think the XM3 also sometimes has a problem where only 1 of the buds connects while the other one doesn't want to. Usually I have to put them back in the case again and then put them in my ears again before it works. Sometimes it takes a little bit more effort.

My new phone can't find my Sony WF-1000XM4 at all till I found you😀. Yes, you are right, I just had to put both ear buds in my ears, and press the top of both of the ear buds for a few seconds. And then they said pairing. That's magical. Thanks❤❤❤ I don't care if I will need to watch any of your other videoes, I am subscribing.
I read the instructions and tried resetting and initialising several times and my problem still exists but thanks anyway! The pairing tip to another device was very helpful though! 😉👍🏾🙏🏾🇬🇧🇸🇪🇹🇹
Hmmm I think my right side WF-1000 XM4 actually died. This isn’t bringing it back.
this happened to my right earbud, 3x, on a very random occasion, whilst im using both for music, the R earbud just shut off or stopped working... i just did a long press on the R earbud and it worked just fine again.. what could be the reason? hmmm

Today the left one stopped working(no light in or out of charging case)

I wish I didn’t buy them. The sound sucks so bad. These sound the worse out of all my ear buds. No volume level at all. The vocals are set way high on these that’s it
@@ForgivemeLordjesus that’s surprising to hear. I feel you on the volume, BUT I feel like if you’re using Spotify, that’s the issue. Spotify is so quiet it drives me nuts. The other thing I noticed is that the eq being off in the Sony app is significantly louder than setting a custom eq, even when bumping every frequency up 10db. It’s strange, but I’m on the complete opposite end, I think they sound really good for ear buds, and in insanely picky. What do you use to play music?

@@robbynaumann439 I use Spotify. Because they have a EQ that you can adjust to make the sound better. And no I don’t think you sound like a jerk, you’re just explaining your experience. So, I have over 20 different pairs of ear buds, 3 diffident types of Sony ones and those just sound the weakest. If I were to rank Sony’s, this would be my rank
1. Sony extra bass
2. XM 3s
3. XM 4s
Side note if you WF-C700N if your case keeps flashing orange even if you left it on the charger and you earbuds are not pairing at all. Keep your earbuds in the case hold on the buttons on your earbuds and hold the power button it would flash blue. I literally thought my earbuds were broken FOR DAYS but this method works!!

I think my left is really dead, (In the case) Resetting flashes red, but doesn't go green.
In my case, the right bud no longer has any strong volume, you can hear it pairing, and you can hear a very faint audio, but no luck resetting it. It's odd because I never dropped them, never got them wet, the right bud just doesn't have any strong volume, and the Blue Tooth shows it is connected on my tablet but displays in red for some reason. I think the noise cancelling option still works for both of them...so they might still be useful just for that option. Thank you for posting the video.
Thank you! I had some pairing issues - the headphones would only connect to either of the two devices: Galaxy phone or Ipad! Solved it by resetting them with two finger press & hold! Cheers from KZ) Keep up!
Happened to mines. Tried resetting but it wasn't registering my touch. After popping them in and out dozens of times over a few hours it registered my reset attempt. This isn't the only fault, there are more. This just seems to be another dodgy headphone from Sony.
I'm having that issue now, also the case won't light up I'm scared they're broken
Holy shit, just the video I was looking for. Mine arrived yesterday and I had the same issue. When both of them were out, they'd connect. If I had just the right one in, it'd connect. But once I swapped to just the left ones, they'd disconnect and be unable to pair. Thank you, it worked 😅
Just got them for 195 usd with all the Christmas and New Years vouchers stacked. Honestly can’t be mad . It corrected everything that prevented me from getting the xm3 over airpod pros , I still have my apple care AirPods so I think I’ll be getting them replaced for the $20 left right and case $60? (Maybe off on the price) and flip them to cover the dif.

Same thing happened to me, but after a dozen resets i think that mine are broken for real. I also tried to keep them out of the case overnight but nothing. Really strange because it happened the same exact thing to me as to you.

@@SnoringVids The only issue, but it's a pretty substancial one since i can't even pair them because the right one is unresponsive
I had a different issue but the same outcome: Left earbud not working, I didn't even react when I press the touch button, also the loading case didn't recognise when I put the earbud into it.
Solution: Put "defective" earbud in case -> plug in USB-C cable to case that it starts charging -> open and close lid 5 times in 20 seconds (or till LED starts flashing red) -> when flashing 4 times green reset is finished and earbud is working again

The press and hold is the same thing with wf 1000xm3 too ~
The cons for me are :
1. There's this almost constant "whoosh" wind sound on the right bud for some reason and it kinda bothers me...
2. 90% of the time I worry about them falling off or get wet from rain even tho I found a perfect fit for my ear holes 😅
same problem but when i bring back the earphone to the case and press for like ten seconds red light and green light show up after that the case work normally

My left one went offline or something. Didn't work. My right one was sounding video.
I put the left on the case for 1 min then i took it off and placed and now it worked again.
Thanks for trip on pairing mode! Just connected them to my PC and going to try the "workaround" to connect them to both my PC and my Phone. Just creating a music list on UA-cam and don't want to do it from my phone.

I’ve had my Sony wf1000xm4 about a year and a half maybe, and now the buds don’t last , put them in and they say fully charged about 45 to 50 minutes later now it say low battery recharge. They started going down and it gotten to this. Thoughts??

What I did to fix mine : plug it in to charge, open and close the case fast until you see a red light flash . Delete the ear bud pairing on Bluetooth mode and repair and it's fixed. Thank you!!@

For pairing to a new device, you don't have to unpair or turn off Bluetooth on the previously paired device. Mine are paired to my Samsung Note 10+. I didn't do anything on my phone and just pressed on both buds and it went into pairing mode and I was able to connect easily to my computer.

When the earbuds are fully charged, does the red button change to green? The words on the informational are so small I cannot read them. Even with my glasses on.
I have the M3 and they stopped working after 2 charges. As you suggested, I read the instructions, did the reset and they won’t even charge. $200.

The right ear of mine doesn't work properly, even if you switch between ANC and active listening... They sound like how the left ear sounds in off mode.
They worked perfectly when I first tried them, but after an hour the right ear started playing up... It also sounded windy for a few minutes.
It's a shame, as I got these brand new for Christmas.
Resetting them hasn't worked unfortunately.
Why is my right earbud gaining more battery than the left one? I'm using both of them at the same time but the right one is always first too low on the battery. Thanks in advance for the help, badly needed.
Left one is always alert to environment changes because of the ambient system therefore it drains more battery. Im having issues with it activating even when I’ve turned off “left button touch sensor”

I recently just ran into an issue where the right earbud was completely unresponsive to EVERYTHING! Like restoring that to factory couldn’t happen the touch feature wasn’t working for the entire day literally unpaired it and couldn’t pair it back to my devices. The case didn’t even recognize the earbud anymore. Super bizarre BUT the next morning what happened was that it started to charge again weird as hell. So apparently it died and then charged back to 100% and worked no idea what happened but I too thought that was $300 down the drain.

I have the XM3's, and had this issue too, but apparently, this happens if you have the Google Assistant assigned to one of the earbuds. If it is assigned to any one of them, it usually ends up being the master for whatever reason, making it the other not being able to work independently. I don't really use the Google Assistant, so I don't really care about it too much.
Hi there! I was wondering if you could help me woth my issue? My left right earbud doesn’t work, I tired the restets, cleaning and all that but the touch pad doesn’t work, there is no blip or anything, it charges, I can hear the sound with the battery fully charged but I can’t paie it to the device no matter what. Mine are about 3 months old I rarely use because they're to big for my ears. But I've used a couple times and now won't turn on. They're fully charged and I tried the reset method but it's not doing anything does that mean I should return or try another way?
