Actually keralites does... But not with leftovers and not everytime.. Only during sadhya served in banana leaf.. After eating 3 round of rice first with sambar, then with curd, then with rasam completing it and at last mix on the leaf they pour wheat payasam(sweet delicacy), the papad (in central kerala) or boli (as in n southkerala) along with ripe banana mix and savour it thus completing the sadhya.. In central kerala the sweet delicacy is often wheat jaggery payasam and in southkerala it is milk payasam..
I am a malayali, but I don't even like mixing papadam with the payasam nevermind the leftovers.😅

South Indians, especially in Kerala do this. We do this most of the time when we r having sadhya( meal on a leaf). But we don't mix the leftovers. There will be leftovers on the leaf ,but we dont mix it intentionally.
Yeh secret toh South ke logon ko bhi nahi paata hoga 😂😂
True 😂

😊😊😊
Leftover k saath nhi it's just with paapad at the end ...And second if u like or dont like that doesn't matter actually it is if we're having in any occasions like marriage or anything good which is happening then we have to fold towards us which means ki acha jo bhi hora hai vaisa hi acha aur aaye towards us....and outwards if hum death function me khare ho toh ....
Yes exactly..
you said it👏
Yes 😛
Thanks for sharing this really love to know about South India more 💜
Right
I'm from Karnataka and we only fold the leaf if we are eating in a funeral. We leave it open otherwise.
That's not true even i am from karnataka we fold the leaf everytime we eat on it

Noo you should fold it because it is not your last food if you fold it from down then it is your last food 😅
I'm from tamilnadu and the first one s something that I've never heard of r seen😵😵🥴🥴
In Odisha we mix Kheer with Papad
Yess....
Really!!! 😮
Which part of Odisha are you from because we definitely don't mix those two!!🤷♀️
Sorry but we don't do this type of weird things 😂
I am also from Odisha but I don't do this and I have never seen somebody do this as well 😅
South Indian
I am also South Indian and I am Tamil we didn't mix sweet with leftover 😂
I feel both of them are wrong. I'm a South Indian (Bangalore) For the second one it doesn't depend on the food. We close towards ourselves top to bottom in happy occassions which signifies we'll come back again to enjoy it etc. We close it outwards the other side bottom to top in sad occassions during death funerals signifies we hope we never come again/ this situation. I hope I made sense 😭
Apparently northies know smth that we souths dont do at all
Appreciated for your knowledge👍
Second one I knew coz am a South Indian

There would definitely a mad one who have said uh this or ur lying😂

For Kerala Sadya, we're usually served with 3 payasam(deserts) nd one of the deserts is usually mixed with papad.. It's literally heaven 😭..
Adhe!
Oh. She is generalising all South Indians do it that way which is wrong. 😭
@@mohana12 oh that's wrong... But I've seen comments denying the fact that keralites do it...
I don’t like doing it at all , personal preference I guess . Sweet should be sweet
@@porothashawarma2339 yeah I do respect ur personal choice and just for making it clear, I meant the mixing of payasam and papad and not the combination with the leftover gravy.. 😊
You should miss the small bannana, payasam or sweet and papad with it
Someone pranked you on the first one my dear.
I'm married to a South Indian and there's no way it's done here.
Just by looking at South I read south Korea
Then I again thought ki patte kya kr rhe h sk mein fir dubara pdha 🤣🤣
So 2 things from a Tamil person:
1. Only an insane person would mix curry with Sweet the papad one is correct as it give texture while eating from banana leaf only.
2. You close the banana leaf inwards for happy occasion example wedding, you close the banana leaf on sad occasions example funerals.
Number 2 2 Teri Baton Mein❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
The second thing - Banana leaf- when you go for a happy occasion you have to fold the leaf from forward to inside but when it is a sad occasion like you are invited for food for someone's demise, you have to fold it from inside to outside
Yes ..in Iyers we say dont fold at all for good occasion
Though we eat the sweet in the banana leaf but we never
"mix" It with our LEFTOVERS!
Omg I'm a south Indian and the first one im sure that someone was trying to joke with u
Bro it's not that you have to mix it with the leftovers , it's just that you eat the payasam in Banana leaf with pappad and a small banana (optional ) !! It's a Kerala thing ❤
I really appreciate these people for serving food on leaf instead of the plastic containers, aluminum foils which are too harmful for our health .
Most of them eat sweet in the end as a dessert. But we south indian specially when the feast is on banana leaf, start with sweet.
This symbolizes the celebration and the occasion. And we south indians can't be fulfilled without curd at the end.
