Nikos, thanks for this comparison. I'm choosing between the basic Plus model and the Plus 2. I have a 100 inch screen. You noted that the Pro 2 models are best for screens over 120 inches. I'm mostly concerned about having enough brightness for 3D mode. I have a medium sized room( 12x16x8(H) ) with 2 windows with shades. I'm on a budget for the Plus model so I'm hoping 1500 lumens will be enough for good 3D performance. Thanks for the fantastic demonstrations on these Valorion Videos!
Hi there, very nice comparison, I do own a Dangbei Atom which is bright I want to know if the extra Lumens of the plus 2 would be something you would actually notice compared to the Atom or I would need to get the pro 2 instead to see some real difference? I use the Atom as a daily tv rather than a dedicated projector, my room is not too bright yet not completely dark, I use a gray anti reflective screen and I can see the image even with some daylight Thanks in advance
Plus 2 is bright. Compared to Atom you are going to notice this difference for sure. Pro 2 is a light cannon, if you play on a screen smaller than 120', you should go for plus 2.
Thanks for the comparison :) Both look really good. To me it looks like the plus2 has lower dark level and less max bright level, so contrast could actually be similar between the two models. Is that something that you also could see when comapring them live, side-by-side?
do you see more details in the images of the pro2 due to the increased contrast? just looking at the feathers of the parrot shot. I'd like to know what you see in person vs what we can see through the camera and youtube
thanks for this... I have a small room with white painted walls to project a 110 inch image on without a screen. Max viewing distance is 8'6 feet.....Was thinking the Pro2 so I can use its optical zoom and not have to stick the projector to the side and rely on the keystone correction. Will the max be too bright for my setup?
@@projectorjunkies4152 thanks for the reply. Sorry said Max when I meant the pro2 ..not thinking of waiting unitl after May so its the Pro 2 with optical zoom at 8 ft away or from the side of the couch at 11 feet with optical zoom and some extra keystone. Or drop down to the plus models and have the keystone and digital zoom. was also curious if you have been able to change the luminance without sacrificing quality?
also did you find the native contrast in the 2 models to be noticeable when watching? I feel i can see more detail i the parrot feathers on the pro2 but that is just me watching on a laptop. Currently reading your full reviews..fantastic work
Do you think the regular Plus model will be bright enough for a basement without windows? I've neverr owned a projector but my brother in law has a $6k Sony that they compare the Pro 2 model to. He said 1500 Lumens will be too dim. What are your thoughts? Should i shell out the extra $300 for the Plus 2 vs the Plus?
From your opinion what type of screen is better for the upcoming Max model? White/Gray ,alr or clr? I understand that models having brightness it will be too much to use Arl/clr matte gray in a controlled light room for extra contrast and deep blacks? Considering that iris and ebl Thanks
I know very little about laser projectors but i would like to play video games on a huge screen. Would there be latency issues? (For the plus or plus 2)
It’s rumored that an sw upgrade will enable EBL at different laser levels, that should give the Pro 2 the possibility of having same black level as the Plus 2.
I use a 135" screen and have a focus on 3D movies. So the Pro 2 is the much more useful option for me. But i already backed the Max model, hoping that they fix the 3D issues until may, which I am aware of. But it's going to be a long time until May.
I'm really struggling. I don't want an ugly TV so i'm looking for a quality projector. But the projection area on my wall is rather small (diagonally about 170 cm) and the ideal projection distance is rather far away (ideally about 350 cm away). I backed the Pro 2 mainly because of the optical zoom function allowing for more flexibility in positioning the projector but I think it might be too bright for the rather small room I'm projecting in. Would it be better to go for the plus 2 and choose a different (read: closter ) projection distance?
Yes, the Plus 2 seems like the right choice for you (and for my space as well). That said, you can always lower the laser power on the Pro 2, and hopefully, a firmware update enabling EBL at lower laser power will be available soon.
@@projectorjunkies4152 Thanks for your incredible review. Which one of them to you find more future proof please ? Also at which rate do you feel projection on a screen better than on a white wall as you have tested both ? Thanks for your attention !
Do you find the black levels to be better on the plus2 or is it just the video making it appear that way? I know typically the brighter projector will have a higher black floor, but I've been curious if they were able to achive the same black floor with ebl implementation?
I haven’t tested the Nexigo yet, but I like this company and I trust them. That said, regardless of which performs better overall, Valerion’s EBL technology is the true game-changer here. Unless Nexigo develops its own laser dimming solution, I don’t think it can truly compete with any Valerion model.
for a dedicated HT black out room which one do you suggest . I have currently Wemax A300 UST and 120 gray ALR floor rising screen . thinking to upgrade
If you love 3D as much as I do, the Pro 2 is the way to go-its extra brightness really makes a difference! Otherwise, the Plus 2 is the best value for money in my opinion for your screen.
@@projectorjunkies4152 I have two questions here: First, isn’t it a bit suspicious that this projector claims to compete with high-end models at a fraction of the price, yet there are no negative reviews so far? It seems quite unusual. Second, I’ve noticed many people opting for the Max model, even though there are no samples available yet, and they’re willing to wait over eight months for it. This is another strange reaction from customers. While it looks impressive on paper, I’m curious-how do you justify taking such a risk? After all, $2,000 USD is still a significant amount in any currency.
Is there a brightness setting that can be adjusted down on the vision master pro 2 to almost the same level as the plus 2 while it is running on full laser power due to EBL(as you mentioned earlier). I intend to use on a 150inch screen. Can i also ask what sort of brightness gains are on the screens you are currently using please? which I assume are fresnel?
There is a laser power setting that allows brightness to be reduced to 1300 lumens, but currently, the EBL feature requires full power to function. My screen is the Celexon Dynamic Slate ALR with a 0.6 gain, and a Fresnel screen is on the way.
@@projectorjunkies4152With that said, when implemented, could the Pro 2 match the Plus 2 on contrast and black levels? Hoping you will respond today because I am second-guessing my pledge on the Pro 2 now that you have stated that The Plus 2 has better contrast and black levels.
Looks great. The Pro 2 is definitely brighter. Also, I'm going to assume that you have to see the picture in person to truly appreciate the difference. The camera will adjust the highlights and shadows based on the dynamic range of the sensor.
Yes, that’s true! The camera’s dynamic range misses a few stops compared to our eyes, so there’s always a difference between watching a video and experiencing the real image of these projectors in person. Plus, don’t forget about UA-cam’s compression, which also affects the quality!
A completely different category, also keep in mind that Nexigo utilizes the Appotronics APLD laser engine, which comes with significant heat generation and a power consumption of 400W (compare to 100W and no heat production of Valerion).
