Good lord he's NOTHING like his character. Amazing internalisation skills. I never saw him break character. He had total control over everything to the smallest of details like that awkward boyish smile Johnny has or even how he breathes through his mouth often.
Almost the last scene with Gheorghe was amazing !!!! Amazing movie I saw it like 20 minutes ago and I'm already in love of him, his performance was amazing Bravo!!!
How can someone look so gorgeous and lovely at the same time? I've been watching a lot of his interviews mostly about his films and the more I watch the more I think that this guy is so intelligent and mature not just the way he talks but the depth of his understanding about his work and the way he delivers his thoughts. He is just...I can't find the right word I'm just in love with him
Just watched it and absolutely in love with this film. Truly one of the best movie of 2017, the cinematography is beyond amazing, the chemistry between the two main characters, breathtaking! What a great year 2017 have been for film.
Words fail me to express how much I love this film for its absolute beauty and message of hope, and so I might be biased, but Josh deserves an Oscar for his performance! Nice bloke, too.
I think josh is the only actor i've seen ever to act out a sex scene as accurately as possible. You can see how he shakes and he's breathless and you can feel and see the primal hunger we all experience when having intercourse. Right there, i'm convinced that this guy is an exceptional actor. Probably one of the best in our generation. And after watching this interview, i realized that he's a completely different person from johnny. I almost don't recognize this man at all. That's how you know josh is one heck of a talent. Hollywood needs more of him.
He absolutely smashed the acting skills in this movie.. he is one of my favourite actors . I was amazed how incredible he was in this film especially compared to how well spoken and gentle he is in real life 💙
Josh and Alec has this undeniable powerful chemistry tbh.. The movie is so convincing and heartfelt one.. I hope someone will create a tv series that something like Gods own country.. Such a lovely story..
Minute I watched this movie it was an instant favorite and still is after probably the 20 times ive watched it! So well done. A happy ending I for one desperately needed to see in film.
Lol Josh says more (and smiles for longer) in 6 minutes and 56 seconds here than Johnny does in 1 hour and 40 minutes :) Watched it twice! (The movie, not this video.)
Astounding film the script, acting and cinematography were amazing. The chemistry between the two leads were good! Throughly enjoyed the film it exceeded my expectations!
Josh's hair is extremely similar with Gheorghe's hair in the film. I watched GOC many times and its not stopping to amaze every details of it. I love you Josh and Alec. 👨❤️👨🤗💪💯
I realize a different story but this is so much better than Call Me By Your Name which is getting so much praise which surprises me. I just got my copy of God's Own Country and loved it!
I adore this movie. Absolutely adore it. It's excellently done, beautifully acted and so painfully raw and real and so happy. It literally made me cry tears of pure, unadultered joy, which was in stark contrast to the large majority of LGBTQ+ movies, which are painfully sad. This, this gave me hope for happy endings in relationships that are not heterosexual in nature. Gorgeous film, amazing actors and just--SO GOOD.
No wonder that movie appeals to a lot of straight women and chic non-straight young adult males. GOC is amazing! I feel like it's a very honest film, I really like the characters' dynamics and I feel like it's really romantic, how one is reluctant and not really emotional, but willing to give in to another guy's tenderness and care, providing the intimacy that he lacked. I think a lot of masculine men might relate with that, not willing to open up, or they try to find for someone to provide to intimately. For CMBYN, I see it as toxic, I never really thought of it as romantic. An older guy lusts over a teenager, while a teenager longs for the guy that is showing indifference, and that indifference causes him to want the affection of someone 'hard-to-get.' Elio's character was complex, Oliver's wasn't. Plus the age gap is disturbing, Elio's infatuation had lead to misery, and the fact he probably knows it's gonna come to that. I see it as tragic than romantic/love.
@@sehunnyexo89 have you considered reading the book? I found it offers a really nice insight and also helped me make more sense of the movie. It’s supposed to be Elio looking back on memories, not a real time event, I didn’t get the hype of the movie until I finished the book.
@@sehunnyexo89 I'm a straight woman and have not seen CBMYN and do not care to. But I've seen GOC (three times now) and it's easily one of the most beautiful films in existence. I typically have an appreciation for art that is authentic, raw and emotive. Stop generalising.
Just finished watching him in PBS series Corfu, loved it ...Didn't realize he's such a dramatic actor...AWESOME...Looking for more films he's been in....
Creo que esta película resuelve el final amargo que nos dejo "secreto en la montaña", ademas de otras tantas películas en donde todo termina en algún tipo de tragedia.
I really, really love this film 🌸 I have known this for a while but it is just a week ago that I watched it and I will never get tire of seeing. I am so caught up with CMBYN, Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer. This film is also a treasure. No one died and happy ending for Johnny and Gheorge 🤗 they have a good chemistry. A thousand thumbs up 😊
I can't stop watching this movie yet...please tell me, where is Alec Secareanu in the list of characters in this movie. I loved him so much and I think he played his role perfectly
This film for me was the best LGBTQ film I’ve watched (and I’ve watched them all) I loved and related so much to Jonny and saw a lot of myself in his character
I just watched this movie. It is extraordinary, I had been besotted with Manchester By The Sea regarding the best movie I had seen. This movie is equal to Manchester By The Sea.
SPOILER ALERT: Do not watch this interview to the very end as near the end it gives away crucial information. I haven't seen the movie and now wish I hadn't watched this interview. I'm still going to watch the movie, even though I now know too much about the ending, which kind of sucks I have to say.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I have watched the film myself, and he didn't say much about how the story unfolded nor how the ending would be in the movie.
He made it pretty clear how their relationship turned out, which is one thing you _don't_ want to know in advance, since it's a major source of dramatic tension. But I'm cautious talking about it, because personally I don't want it spoiled any further.
@@ShadowinaCave many of the comments here make it clear that the movie has a happy ending so you can figure out how the relationship will end. it's how it was acted and portrayed that was more important.
Yes. Except that these guys from Yorkshire farm didn't 'betray' what their heart actually tells like in Brokeback Mountain the men chose to marry women because they felt insecured about what they did, in God's Own Country, the men follow where their hearts go which is more positive and hopeful
@Juan Alarcon, not the only person Juan, it made me think of Brokeback Mountain too... but there are also differences that have been mentioned before. John knows he is interested sexually in men, but is not emotionally invested in anything... and then Georghe comes and shows him how to care and how to love. The part when they are day and night working on the fence and with the caddle alone and in the cold that is where the resemblance to Brokeback Mountain appeared, but you can’t deny the “in your face” fighting/love making scene in God’s Own Country when John and Georghe had rough sex in the mud literally... and other than having a hopeful happy ending, this is not a journey of someone struggling with their sexuality, it is a journey about someone learning how to open as a human being, to express emotions and feelings and to care about something! Cheers.
Can someone just please don't mention any movie aside from GOC, because GOC is so moving gosh... I don't like people comparing GOC to BM uk version or CMBYN and what not..GOC is so beautiful on its own.
I almost faint when I heard hes going to be in another Gay film with Paul Mescal. Oh my god, my two favorite depressed men gonna be kissing each other! 😂
So glad I found this movie to obsess over, especially now that i cant watch cmbyn anymore that mr Hammer is an abuser... This movie was better anyways😅
This film is partially based on the writer/director’s personal experience growing up in a farm, whereas Brokeback Mountain is fiction, so there might be similarities but definitely not a copy, for obvious reasons...
They’re completely different movies. There relationship is nothing like the men in brokeback mountain. As well as the characters themselves and the cinematography
When I watched the trailer that was my initial reaction. I was even apprehensive to watch it thinking & asking why would they even try to copycat a masterpiece such as Brokeback Mountain? But after watching the film, I realized that the only similarities between the 2 films are the gay theme & farm setting. And that was it. The rest is nothing like Brokeback Mountain.
