In regards to the spirit events, I wanna remind you that Splatoon 2 randomly got a few Splatfest reruns in late 2020 after a year without any, ending with the new Mario splatfest in January 2021.
Splatoon 3 was revealed Febuary 2021.
Oh snap, yeah I don’t want to get hyped but it’s catching my attention that we got these 4 spirit events and are rushing through them real fast and now they might end right before when we’re rumored to get the new system revealed. The timing is suspicious.
Interesting point. I think its fair to say Smash will be happening soon with Nintendo's new system.
New theme in the intro is still pretty surreal
Spirit Events were re-instated around the time Sakurai said he will stop making videos on his channel. It's likely that he's back for the next Smash Bros., and he's throwing new spirits to bring back players to Smash Ultimate.
Agreed I think sakurai is already working on the next smash too
Strange how we still haven’t gotten a Fire Emblem Engage spirit event.
This one might be explainable in that FE spirits would require communication with Intelligent Systems (as well as Kirby requiring HAL). LoZ and Splatoon were both internal Nintendo EAD, while Xenoblade and Pokemon also required external communication but I suppose they were on the ball about that or really wanted the extra marketing
15:56
Papa: "Don't get hyped!"
Me: "I disagree."
Haha 😅
For Super Smash Bros, I'm hoping for a port of Ultimate and that they give it the Deluxe treatment like with Mario Kart 8. Keeping all the roster the same as well as adding more new characters.
Kratos bro
and a new game that's a complete reboot of the smash formula which a much smaller cast
I think its more likely a Switch 2 Reveal is near October or November with a March 2025 release date. Similar to the orginal Switch, so that it's not so scarse in the Holidays.
Likely with restocks every 2 months after.
Plan is to release this year, that I know for sure. Only way that doesn’t happen is if there’s some production issue or something else unexpected holding it up.
@PapaGenos There hasn't been a smooth launch for a console in November for a few generations.
If they mean 2024 Fiscal year, the first months of 2025 are technically 2024 for the company
Another PapaGenos video in less than a week? We are eating good
I just sat down with food. Perfect timing!
ayyy me too :3
@@Dig_Duke_SFMI have a glass of water
I had a feeling you'd change the intro theme to the remake version of Beware The Forest Mushrooms
Neat that i made a new cameo in the video at 14:23
Nice I noticed that too. I was like “oh hey, that’s ethanxpsp2770. Cool cameo”
Congrats!
Confirmed, you're now a part of the Papagenos Cinematic Universe
Regardless of what happens, I look forward to more leak/rumor/news videos from you! I’m excited for a new era of Nintendo speculation coming soon
Thanks!
Long time no see PapaG, good to see you back on the YT!
Thanks!
Good seeing you make videos again PapaGenos!
Still hoping Digimon gets a couple of Spirits in the last batch (Presumably from Survive?)
I remember the rumors claiming that the Switch 2 would be revealed on March so all these new rumors connect very well
Revealing the Switch 2 in March would be pretty fitting, it'd mark 7 years since the Switch first launched in March 2017!
I definitely think the new SSBU content via spirit events is hinting at some underlying dev team work for Smash Bros. in general. Something similar happened for Mario Party after all, Super Mario Party got its random update adding online play in 2021, and sure enough, later that year Mario Party Superstars was released with full online play
Yo love the new intro that's awesome for using the remake music!
Thanks! 😁
Next week will be really interesting. I think it’ll come either way but a partner showcase would definitely be the final nail in the coffin for Switch 2 deniers lol
Nope nothing will be mentioned until after the start of April! They've already said many times that they have no plans to reveal any new information about any hardware until after this fiscal year which ends March 31st!
Toys for Bob is not shutting down there were only on remote meaning Toys for Bob is working at home.
It’s a big shame about Microsoft and all those layoffs, it makes you wonder how were they able to even acquire all those studios in the first place.
For the Switch 2 I do hope we can keep our redeemed custom switch profile pics from certain games such as SMRPG and Warioware, those haven’t been showing back up for those who’ve missed them.
As that Tinfoil Hat thing, March also marks the 6th Anniversary of when Inkling was revealed for Ultimate so that’s me adding my thoughts to that but wait there’s more! Little Mac’s reveal trailer will be 10 years old this coming Valentines Day!
10years! WOW feels like it was yesterday I vividly remember exactly where I was and how I reacted to Mac’s trailer
Layoffs don't have anything to do with profitability, Microsoft is incredibly profitable (even if Xbox doesn't make much)
Companies use layoffs to please investors, using them as a counter to all of their purchases
I just finished Another Code, and now I want Ashley in Smash. She's such a great character
@@smoothdude77It’s weird how I want both Warioware Ashley and Another Code Ashley in Smash, it would be another 2 Roys situation lol.
March is 6 years removed from Smash Ultimate’s initial reveal
Great video as always
Papas back in my recommended baby
Happy April Papa
There's a huge hole in the "missing titles" argument you proposed for the Smash Bros. Spirits.
1: All of the games with missing series titles featured in these Spirit Events are rated T. That applied only to M-Rated Mii Costume Trailers, and even then, only in North America.
2: Literally every other Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate used their series name, even the T and M rated ones. So at the very least, why isn't Xenoblade Chronicles, a series with three fighters in the game, listed for Noah and Mio?
I've debated this with another person a few weeks ago, and it didn't make sense then, either.
Unless ESRB has gotten even stricter with this series title rule? I have no other explanation for it except that games with more adult ratings are the ones where the spirits don’t have the series title
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 had themes of war, child soldiers, and actual suicide. It was dangerously close to getting an M rating.
Thanks Papa
You’re welcome!
I'm not shocked if it is a partner showcase, i think a lot of their next big reveals are for the switch two, and they can't announce those without first announcing the console, in which i doubt they'll announce in a direct
The hype continues!!!
I just thought of this this morning. Not to be a downer... but the 4 Spirit Events were probably rushed out like they were because there's usually a final update that places them all into a proper rotation on the Spirit Board, right? Well, Sora comes out today, and being the final thing they would NEED to do an update with, it probably lines up more with that than a Switch 2 announcement. Like, usually the big updates were when they added events into rotations.
Wonder if a new 3D Mario will be shown alongside with the console.
Would be a great launch title, haven’t had a mario title launch a core console in a while!
Can’t wait for the Switch 2. The first year of a new Nintendo console is always so much fun. Tons of new content about it, new games, and stuff.
zippo don't tell huge fucking bullshit challenge (IMPOSSIBLE!)
Still a better leaker than Khu
@@TheRealZXXZ just believe pyoro and nobody else, zippo has been telling bullshit since 2020 just because he predicted one small little thing
Kind of unrelated, but are you still planning on doing the video of the future of Super Mario RPG/Geno? Whether it's on the current hardware or future hardware, etc?
Thanks papa!
In regards of the switch 2 i think they'll release it in 2025, because every time they announce a console, they only released in the next year, they did that with the 3ds and the wii u
Lay-offs are unfortunate but not surprising. Often is the case is companies/corporations cutting the "bloat" - people who attributed nothing of value to the workplace.
As for the Smash Bros speculation, most likely a port of Ultimate with Fighter's Pass 1 & 2 included. Possibly even a Fighter's Pass 3. In this hypothetical: Firstly, I think it'd be available for purchase to both Switch and "New Console" customers. Assuming the next console is similar in technology as the Switch, I don't think they'd do with Smash Bros what Nintendo did with Mario Kart 8. (Making additional DLC later down the line for just the Switch version.) Secondly, since the main development for Tekken 8 is done, I can see Bandai Namco recruiting more people to work on a Fighter's Pass 3. Reminder this is all hypothetical and shouldn't be taken seriously.
It being a Partner Showcase does make some sense from a business perspective particularly should Nintendo themselves just NOT have any new games to show, rather than gey people disappointed that they got hyped when Nintendo had nothing
Kinda like the one they dod in Summer where in hindsight Kirby's Dream Buffet was the ONLY new game they could have had there if it wasn't a Partner Showcase
As to what I hope/expect to see there,
Rune Factory Dragons
Senran Kagura 3
A new Atelier game
Xenoblade Warriors
Megaman Taisen
And Square will probably have something I just have no idea what
Now im curious how the reveal will happen. A short trailer like Switch? Then maybe a full proper Switch 2 direct closer to release?
I wouldn't be surprised if the Switch successor doesn't come out until 2025.
Because if they were truly gonna release it this Christmas, they would have officially announced the console by now, or have given us a codename for the upcoming console.
Because the Atlantis was first mentioned in 1996, & then released in 2001 under Game Boy Advance. The Revolution was first mentioned in 2004, & then shown off in 2005, & then released in 2006 under the name Wii.
The NX was first mentioned in 2015, then shown off in 2016 under the name Switch, & then released in 2017.
Plus, the Switch is doing/selling really well, & Nintendo learned the hard way by discontinuing the Wii early, & releasing the Wii U early that you don't walk away from a slot machine when it's paying off, friends! And they have been known to delay consoles.
The 64 was supposed to release in 1995, but was delayed to 1996.
Game Boy Advance was supposed to release in 1996, but was delayed to 2001. And, the Switch was supposed to release in 2016, but got delayed to 2017. All I want is a Switch port of Yoshi's Woolly World, & I'll be satisfied!
I haven't been hyped for Smash since Pyra/Mythra were revealed...
But I'm getting hyped now! Melee was the launch title for the GameCube, and I want to think Nintendo hasn't completely lost what they used to be. Smash Ultimate Ultimate would be a great selling point for a new console!
Nah, I'm not really holding out hope for it, but I still find it weird that they suddenly remembered to make spirit events in 2024.
I really want to see a enhanced edition of Smash Ultimate for that potential Switch Successor, plus if the Switch Successor does have Backwards Compatibility and enhance the odd title here and there, I could see Nintendo taking some of the Switch games that struggled on the aging hardware and give them a much needed glow up, like Breath of the Wild and those Pokemon games being two examples of that off the top of my head that could use further polish and better optimization, which this new more powerful Switch could provide that answer. I could see Nintendo getting real to fellow Switch players and show Breath of the Wild running as is on the older hardware VS on the newer hardware as a means of demonstrating the Backwards Compatibility and enhanced titles during their new hardware reveal.
The last Nintendo Direct mini was actually good. So I'm looking forward to it.
The Switch 2 rumor is complete bullshit.
So you're choosing to believe one rumour but completely dismiss the other from the same guy.
I'd bet good money the last spirit event is going to be Mario related, most likely Super Mario Bros. Wonder focused.
i am quite fine and ok if it is a partner showcase, or a 1st party showcase, they show new stuff, im fine. even if mostly ports, again amok, esepcially i know there are many games i still love to see come to the Switch/Switch 2
If it is a partner showcase, when are they gonna find time to give us the release date for TTYD and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD??
In my opinion, a Partner Direct is a good thing. It means Nintendo have very little to show, meaning its because they're saving for the Switch 2 reveal.
Excited about all this which I interesting 🤔 ☺
On one hand, expecting a new smash game so soon still seems like a total pipe dream. On the other hand, when Smash 4 was as old as Ultimate is right now, we were already finishing up Fighters Pass 1. Granted it's not a 1-to-1 comparison given how much support Ultimate got post-launch, but smash games generally release every 6 or so years and Ultimate came out in 2018...
Honestly? I think it’s more likely to see a Multiversus reveal than a Smash one
Havent ever purchased The Switch & I have waited this long since they announced it the 1st one. Now we FINALLY wil get a reveal for the Switch 2 Successor. I cant wait!
Been watching your channel since 2018. Big fan. Hope we get another Smash game
Thanks for telling me about that Spirit event, I totally missed the Pokemon one and had to pause the video to complete it.
That being said, the fact it's just starters and mascot legendaries concerns me. Seems Sakurai still isn't too keen to use trainers in Smash. Considering Satoshi Tajiri specifically said he wanted more media to contain them that's sad. They should have had a Nemona, and Kieran spirits.
Honestly I switched 2 sounds wonderful but like I don't know though. I have mixed feelings on it. Though like will it work with my old switch games or whether have new or ones? Why still play the old switch games? But either way, I think a switch choose fine. And let's hope it's good which i'm betting it is
Fuck, its like 2016-Q1 2017 all over again
Me as a Pacman fan hoping for a Pacman World 2 remake, this doesn't impact my hype at all.
From what I heard the thing is gonna be stronger then a ps4 undocked and on part or better then a ps4pro while aso being 399. P3reload is being ported to Super Nintendo Switch with all its DLC cooked in.
I hope it’s strong! I honestly barely notice much difference between ps4 and ps5 as is so that sounds plenty strong for a handheld to me!
As long as I’m getting some sweet sweet Nintendo info of any kind I will be good either way
This is epic
I would be shocked if Sony or Nintendo allowed Game Pass on PlayStation or Switch. There's zero incentive for them to do so.
yuhh
The next pokemon game will likely be on the switch 2
I want the switch 2 named/called switch prime
Switch U
to me I don't feel like their going to name it that, but I know that it's high likely for them to name it that but I can't see them doing it. If their naming it Switch U, it feels to low hanging fruit for them to pick.@@MegoZ_
my computer from the same year can emulate the switch.
What’s wrong with the partner showcase? It could be a big one
-partner showcase.
-doesn’t showcase paper Mario’s partners.
How could they do this?
Are you gonna do a Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 review sometime soon? P.S. Mr. Krabs just got revealed earlier today! #BigMeatyClaws!
I saw! I’ll probably upload my krabs trailer reaction tomorrow, just didn’t want to flood video uploads in one day.

VERIFIED: NateTheHate reporting as Emily Rogers on X is saying Microsoft is gonna be the company in the "Direct Partner Showcase"!!
New intro?!
Yup!
Deadass?
So, Next Generation will probably be Nintendo, Sony and a new 3rd console maker, Maybe Apple
I LOVE YOUUU
Not as much as I love the sweet taste of cinnamon toast crunch
Thank you.
No Nintendo direct mini
I find it kind of unfair that the third Xenoblade game is not shown within its series title in the Smash Bros Spirits.
Switch advanced or Nintendo wave
I won't mind a Partner showcase because I'm just looking forward to the Pokémon Direct!
Yeah we should get one soon too for the anniversary, always do.
raaHHHHHHHHHH
I hope we get a FE6 remake eventually, hee ho
Hold up... this stuff going on with Microsoft/Xbox seeming to be stepping away from hardware... you think they might be going all in with Nintendo on the next Nintendo platform - making the 'Switch 2' a Nintendo/Microsoft joint venture?
Hmmm...
That’d be insane, I doubt it but it would be crazy if that’s how things went
Eh, I don't really trust Zippo. When Pyoro teased a remake of a SNES game and before you mentioned that the game was a remake Super Mario RPG, Zippo went aboard and said it was Chrono Trigger, demonstrating that he was only piggybacking from other insiders without having a real source. I won't trust anything he says.
What’s so bad about partner showcases
Can someone explain to me... if only third parties will be included, no way important titles such as metroid prime will be shown, right? just those with cross-overs like rabbids x mario, etc...
I cant say i'm dissapointed, the Nintendo company knows when it will show the new title also the remasters that no one is touching since nintendo wii (triology), then its fine for their comercial strategies, but people overespeculated about dates around february, including myself, my using the last three years as role example (between days 7-8-15th from february), but that's not really a necessary rule, sometimes they went on different months like march.
Oh boy, Metroid fans are frustated and they have no choice but to wait for a "posible" remaster as shadow drop, no hopes for metroid prime 4 in 2024 IMO. Their cutscenes were scheduled to be made during (or since) 2023, i high doubt a good game cinematic finishes in one semester, this is absurd, not even Disney and Dreamworks couldnt work, even less for a sci-fi and gaming film.
Nate the hate is lying
Don't believe what he say
Like he say switch pro is coming
Partner showcase with Xbox
Partner showcase may very well be xbox.
That’d be weird if the Xbox announcement next week turned out to be the games coming to switch in a partner showcase (I’m kidding, I don’t think this would happen lol)
@@PapaGenos yeah, probably sega stuff, in any case still looking forward to see.
First for March 13th 2024
We’ll see if you’re right!
I dont know why people get disappointed over Partner Showcases. I still look forward to them. It's always exciting to see what 3rd party games we get.
Because a lot of Nintendo fans don't play anything else. They act negative asf towards other jrpgs and farming games whenever they're shown in the directs just because they aren't Mario or Zelda. They also had negative reactions to Disney Speedstorm and Chocobo GP when they were announced there. They literally hate anything if it's not a Nintendo ip. They hate kart racers, jrpgs, farming games, and platform fighters. The hate that Foamstars gets is crazy to me. The game just exists and they just have these giant hate boners for it. Telling the whole world how "trash" and a splatoon clone it is 😂. They're toxic asf and they've been like this for years.
Derpixon profile picture detected, coomer alert
Because the vast majority of Nintendo fans are younger people who only play a handful of child-friendly Nintendo IP’s. They view everything else as a “waste of time.”
They don’t necessarily like “video games.” They like “Nintendo.”
Y’all are super negative and pessimistic. A lot of Nintendo fans just get excited to see what new stuff Nintendo have coming out. That’s why they’re tuning in for a NINTENDO Direct. That’s why they bought a NINTENDO Switch. Partner Directs weren’t a thing until covid. Until then the 3rd party stuff was sprinkled in alongside the Nintendo stuff. Everybody was happy.
No need to act all arrogant and condescending toward people who aren’t “rEaL gAmErS”
Because it’s hard to get excited for old over priced ports that have been out for decades and run worse for full price.
P R O M O S M 💪
NO GOT PLEASE NOW
Zippo is always fake lol. He probably guessed nothing more (like always)
just a word of advice for the future: don't. trust. zippo. he's incredibly unreliable as his claims are mere wishful thinking. nate the hate and pyoro are the only ones you should trust since they both have actual inside information
