Michael Christian I know this is 4 years later but Today, I am on a rant. Halo 5’s story was rewritten. 343i was a little scared of the fact the story had nothing to do with halo 4 and the fact the master chief was going to become a villain so a little while before release they scrapped the campaign and scrambled together something we know as, bad.

I predict that Locke will become the War Machine to Chief's Iron Man. How cool would that be? Nightfall makes is clear that Locke is an honorable guy, so them teaming up is all but guaranteed. Its hard to imagine because Chief has been built up so much, but in truth the vast majority of the Spartans have impressive military accomplishments.

Thee UNSC are tracking Spartan 117 due to him going rogue after Halo 4 since he's attempting to save the AI, Cortana; But he's now deemed as a simple Rebel as were the Rebels on Reach and various other UNSC controlled planets. He's simply put, dangerous, obsolete scrapped metal in some form or another to them, even though he saved Earth. Remember, even in Halo 4, there are many many new Spartan Soldiers and they were in some way surprised to even see 117, commenting on his older armour or thought he "would be taller" etc hehheh. As of where he went or how he got away from Infinity and the UNSC HQ out onto the dunes; Remains to be seen...

Am I the only one who actually likes Agent Locke? Cuz from the comments it seems like everyone hates him. I personally think he looks amazing and I can't wait to learn more of his backstory and role in the Halo Universe.

Because the original idea got scrapped by Microsoft. I know that 343i and Microsoft are the same but one's larger than the other. And unfortunately the larger half controls the smaller. What happened in Halo 5 is never 343i's plan.

I think Hulsey is looking for John because something is about to happen and she is sending Locke to get him. The Arbiter wouldn't betray John, and not to mention John isn't hunting the Covenant, so why would all of their lives be in danger? So looks like something big is gonna happen and they need John to save the day as always.

braza117 I believe arbiter, Locke and chief are working together to protect the galaxy from this ultimate threat. That's why it's called halo guardians because, the focus of the characters is all of them however, chief is still the main character due to him being the reclaimer. Mendicant bias will assist chief but, offensive bias will try and destroy mendicant bias for good. The forerunners will be in halo 5 and I'm almost sure this time that the flood will return!

.. You know, even Halo 4 wasn't supposed to happen. 343 just took a few years of authors (and Bungee employees) devotion - heart and soul and declared it "Non Canon". That's basically like slapping someone in the face after they performed CPR on you. 343 did an okay job on Reach. ON IT'S OWN, halo 4 was even a good game. But as a continuation of the story? Halo 4 is as much of a worthy successor as C&C Tiberian Twilight was to C&C Tiberium Wars. On its own, a good game, but within the lore? No. Just no.

well you discover an ancient forerunner who lead an army against the ancient human race who was killing forerunners to stop the spread of the flood.
said ancient forerunner escapes from his prison to seek a weapon that turns biological life into AI that can be used as combat drones.
and after he gets said weapon he uses it to kill everyone in New Phenoix, Arizona and then while he is doing that you detonate a nuke on his ship to destroy the weapon. and only make it out alive because Cortana sacrifices herself to save you.
i think that covers most of the major plot points.

I know this comment will never really be seen. But my favorite part is when Locke is looking at the hologram (i’m sure in a dumbstruck gaze) of Chief riding a Covenant bomb to the Covenant Carrier. He’s obviously never seen this and is blown away. The original Halo 2 scene stuck with me since I was 11 years old. Chief holding on to the bomb while flying in orbit has always reminded me to have extreme courage and faith in what you are about to do. And do it with everything you got.

In my opinion 343 is doing a dam good job trying to revive halo!! Yes 4 wasn't perfect but it sure had a dam good campaign but not perfect- I'm happy to see that they are actually working on creating such a strong plot in the game. Yes multiplayer looks a bit iffy but if we as a community tell them what we want- trust me- they will listen

on one of their ads I noticed they said "new gameplay for a new generation" or something like that, I think 343 is forgetting about the old fan base which could lead to locke being the protagonist I imagine they would want to make their own mark on the universe instead of finishing someone elses work.this is also kind of supported by the gameplay becoming more fast paced to compete with other games like COD.i feel they're trying to adapt the game to a new audience which would possibly mean introducing a new character. just a theory I don't think chief will be removed from the series or anything but I can see him becoming more of a secondary part of the story.

For everyone wondering who Locke is, he is a 4th generation Spartan.
(Short Spartan history below)
1st generation was soilders that voluntered to join the Spartan program, there were 5 of them, all died and the operations was considered a failure.
2nd generation was super intelligent children that was abducted from colonial worlds and replaced by clones (which later died of diseases). These children went under hard traning and had agumented growth. Master Chief(John), Fred, Kelly and Linda are some of the survivors of this generation.
3rd generation was children that wanted to become Spartans after losing their family to the Covenent. Not as agumented, good or well armored as the Spartan 2s, these were produced in mass and sent in as suicide squads on impossible missions. Spartan Tom, Lucy and a few others survive to this day.
4th generation was once again volunteers, and meny Spartan IVs exist, probably better equipped then any earlier Spartan generation, but not as genetically modified as the Spartan 2s. Locke is one of these.
Btw, its 30 years between the 2nd generation and the 4th. So Master Cheif might be feeling back pains soon?
The 1st program was called the Orion program and not all of them died, some did but Johnson was part of the Orion program and he made it to the end of the war. Get your info right!!

Cortana "dies". Chief wants Cortana back. Cortana was made by Halsey. Halsey is with the covenant/storm elites and such. Chief goes and joins Halsey in order to get Cortana back? Halsey wanted revenge on the UNSC, so she may had asked chief to infiltrate the UNSC/ONI to get information to wreck them in order to get Cortana back. Locke works for ONI, so if this is the case, Halsey has started to bring down ONI, so Locke goes after Chief to end it. Only an educated guess, THE HYPE IS REAL!

To me it looks nothing like a Halo game it reminds me of cod with a different name for example ads why would we need that when guns are extremely accurate another thing is the ground smash attack that's stupid all this is is another cod clone they have officially ruined halo for me.
NIGHTSHADE31401 First, the ADS is just for longer range hits, zooming-in on all weapons, which wasn't available in previeus games, it doesn't affect accuracy at all. Second, how is the ground smash ability a copy from CoD? which barely has a step-on melee attack that's really dumb-looking IMO. If anything, CoD is becoming more like Halo with those high jumps. side thrusts and futuristic shit... Wait and play the actual game before bitchin' over gameplay vids...
